Located in scenic Frankfort, this charming boutique motel offers cottage style rooms, double suites, and a cottage, as well as on-site parking for boats and trailers. (During the summer, the cottage is a weekly rental only.)

Accommodations at Bay Port Lodging range from charming cottage rooms to double suites, and our Cottage that sleeps 4. All of our motel rooms are the same size and have the same amenities; they only vary in terms of how they are decorated as well as by bed set-up. All rooms will accommodate between 2 and 4 people, depending on beds. Rooms that accommodate 4 people would either have a double bed and a set of bunk beds or 2 double beds. Maximum capacity per room is 4 people. Rooms are assigned on the day of check-in based on the total number of people per room.

All Motel Rooms have bedding and linens provided. Rooms also have coffee makers and ice buckets with an ice machine located inside the main lodge. We do not have televisions, telephones or refrigerators in any of the rooms.

The main lodge-dining room has a western theme, from the high vaulted ceilings to the hard wood floors and the huge circular fireplace. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner to our guests. Offering cookouts or buffets to larger groups and catering for Company Outings, Wedding Receptions or larger events.

There are three guest rooms, each with a queen bed and private bathroom. Two of the rooms feature claw foot tubs with showers and the third room has a private sitting room. Sunrise is central to all the villages and attractions in Leelanau County, so you can branch out, yet never be far from home.

The perfect base
Unwind at the end of a long day by building a beach fire, then lay back and enjoy the stars from anywhere on the grounds. In the morning, we’ll have muffins, pastries, and juice in the lobby. And as always, freshly made coffee is always brewing.

All units have views of the bay and open up onto our large grassy yard. There is plenty of room for kids to run and play, or for you to lay out and read a book in our signature colorful adirondack chairs. The beach, just a few steps from your room, has a nice swimming area (don’t forget your water shoes!) and plenty of sand to lay out or build castles.

Classic Rooms
Our classic rooms have the original tongue and groove cedar walls, which give off that special warm feeling our guests love. These rooms can either have 1 queen bed, or two double beds, complete with a sitting area, writing desk, microwave/fridge, and flat screen TV.

Suites
Each of our suites have a unique floor plan and feel to the room. The biggest draws to these remodeled rooms are the spacious layouts, whirlpool tubs, separate bedrooms (which gives an apartment-like feel), large kitchens and living rooms, and custom gas fireplaces for cozy fall and winter nights.

Kitchenettes
These country-kitchen rooms feature our warm tongue and groove cedar walls, 2 Queen Beds, flat screen T.V., sitting area, writing desk, and a fully equipped kitchen/dining area. Some units have the option to connect to an adjacent room, creating an apartment-like setting.
