Ms. Melissa Little rejoined TDM Consulting in March 2012 as CADD Manager. Melissa’s professional career started with the United States Air Force and after earning her degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design, has been focused on the civil engineering field. Melissa has over 14 years experience in the engineering field and has worked in both public and private sectors. Her expertise ranges from roadway projects to utility design to site construction. Melissa previously worked for TDM Consulting from 2004-2007 as a Project Manager. Melissa’s level of professionalism, expertise, and prior history with TDM, make her a valuable asset to our team.

Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc.’s CEO Tom Feurig welcomed staff, board members and local supporters for a ceremonial groundbreaking on Friday at Goodwill’s newest retail and donation center in Estero. Construction officially began in late April for the new store, which will be located at 10351 Corkscrew Commons Dr. Goodwill hopes to open the new store in late July or early August.

The Corkscrew store will replace the Estero Goodwill boutique located around the corner on Three Oaks Parkway.

“At just over 11,000 square feet, the Corkscrew Goodwill will be more than three times larger than the existing Three Oaks location,” said Robert Randall, Goodwill’s retail and operations vice president. “The store will employ 20 workers- which is quite an increase from the five employees currently at the Three Oaks store.”

Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida has 25 retail and donation centers located across Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties.

“We are very excited about our Corkscrew location,” said Kirsten O’Donnell, Goodwill’s public relations director. “This store will better serve the growing Estero community.”

In attendance at the groundbreaking were Goodwill’s Board of Directors members Jon Simmons, Sharlene Dozier, Pat Mann and Daniel Adams. Representatives from Gulfcoast Consulting Group, Gora/McGahey Architects, Inc. and TDM Consulting, Inc. were also on hand, all of whom are involved in the construction.

Sales at Goodwill’s 25 Retail & Donation Centers support the agency’s mission of helping Southwest Floridians with disabilities and other disadvantages overcome their barriers to employment and independence. Goodwill’s programs include job placement programs, youth mentoring and education, vehicle assistance, and affordable housing.

One of our featured projects is the new AutoZone in Cape Coral, FL.

The Grand Opening of the new Cape Coral AutoZone was held August 24th, 2011. The new 7,400 square foot retail store, located at 32 NE Pine Island Road, is located on a 1-acre outparcel in the Twin Central Plaza.

Permitting through the City of Cape Coral, the South Florida Water Management District, Florida Department of Transportation, and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection was required for this project. Permitting and construction were completed in record time – 6 months! Construction was completed by Hembree Construction of Orlando, FL.

TDM Consulting (http://www.tdmcivilengineering.com/) has once again teamed up with Moore and Spence Architects (http://mooreandspence.com/) and O.A.K. (www.owen-ames-kimball.com/) to construct affordable housing in Cape Coral, Florida. Coconut Cove, an 8-unit multi-family residential development located on SE 8th Terrace, received final certification and is ready for new tenants. The next phase, Coconut Cove II, is in the process of obtaining construction permits for a similar 4-unit development to be located on SE Van Loon Terrace. Both projects are under review by the USGBC for LEED Platinum Certification. The SW Florida Affordable Housing Choice Foundation, a non-profit affiliate of The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers, is a Non-Profit developer providing affordable rental housing to families in need through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
