Hi Friends,

I want to share the phone format code /key for N8 and Symbian^3 devices

1) The very first and old trick is to press *# 7780*, which is very well known to us and it only restore the original phone settings.

2)Second one is the code *#7370# which is also known as Hard Reset for Nokia phones.

3)Third one is less popular and also don't work on Symbian^3 touch screen phones.
Pressing down the three keys all together Call + * +3 and power up the phone.

4) Similar to the third one as Call + * +3, we can now use the below mentioned option.

Switch off the phone and wait for at least 20 seconds.
Press and hold Volume Down key + Camera + Menu all together.

Now you will get a screen like below

Now i would suggest you to take a backup of the phone first as you will loose the data such as contacts, messages, calender entries,phone memory stuffs, etc.

Ok now you will have to press Menu key and wait for the screen to display the factory settings menu.
Now go to Phone > Phone Management > Factory Settings > Delete data and restore.

Thats all needs to be done and you will get a fresh Nokia with all new default factory settings.

Deleting "Stuck" Installer Files in S60 3rd Edition

I have seen a problem with “stuck” installer files in S60 3rd Edition phones for a couple of times. The information from Application Manager shows that the applications are not installed. However, they cannot be deleted because there is no Delete menu (see screenshot below). They cannot be re-installed either because it always fails with “Unable to install” message. Those files are basically just stuck there.

From my opinion, it looks like a bug in S60 3rd Edition (not sure if this has been fixed in S60 3rd FP1). I don’t really know how to reproduce this problem, but it has happened to my phones several times. Once, I saw this problem after one application failed to install. In other occasions, I saw this problem after resetting my phone to the default factory settings.

What should we do if we have this kind of “stuck” installer files in S60 3rd Edition? One way is to delete the installer file manually via Windows Explorer. Unfortunately, we cannot use any file manager application because those files are located in a protected folder.

* Firstly, connect your phone to a PC via USB.
* Choose Data Transfer (a.k.a. Mass Storage). Do not select PC Suite because you won’t be able to browse protected folders in PC Suite mode.
* Open Windows Explorer on your PC.
* Go to \private\10202dce on the phone’s folder.
* There, you should be able to find the installer files (.sis). Just remove them using Windows Explorer.

You can also acess & even delete these file using phone just go to file manager

And use Search (find) the folder private
and in that go to the 10202DCE and delete the file which are not installing

Another Tip for Password-protected Memory Card Only for E-series

How to solve the problem? If, for some reasons, you activate remote lock option on your phone, it will change your memory card’s password too. Just for your information, remote lock option allows you to lock your phone by sending SMS to it. It is a nice feature if you accidentally left your phone somewhere and you don’t want other people using it. You can activate this feature from Tools | Settings | Security | Phone and SIM | Allow remote lock menu. The password of your memory card will be your remote lock message.

So, if you still remember your remote lock message, then try to unlock your memory card’s password using that message.

Steps:

• Press menu key, find "File Mgr." (the default file manager) and open it

• Press Options / Find

• You will be prompted to choose between phone memory and memory card. Press down to select memory card
• Type the name of that protected folder you want to browse through: either Sys or Private

Press Find and wait
• The folder will appear in search results. It should appear the first result if you type its whole name

What will you be able to do?

• Browse through folders, subfolders and files inside sys folder
Copy files/folders from sys to another normal folder
Browse through folders, subfolders and files inside private folder
Move and copy files/folders from private folder to another normal folder
Rename and delete files/folders inside private folder

Solution for backing up and restoring Messages
I am very glad to inform you all, the MOST-WANTED solution for backing and restoring your messages from your memory card. By default in symbian S60 edition phones, when we store messages on memory card, it gets stored in system/mail folder.
The same thing happens on Symbian 3rd edition phones too, but only difference is that the mail folder is buried deep inside the private folder..
What you need to access it..
1) Connect your handset to pc in the “Data transfer” (Mass storage) mode
2) Go to the Private folder on your memory card
3) Open the folders in sequential manner
4) Look for 1000484b (PARENT) folder or like that under which you will find Mail (Child) or mail2 folder, you are looking for.
5) Copy that (PARENT) folder to your PC
6) After you format you memory card using handset, copy back the same folder PARENT from pc again under Private folder on memory card using mass storage mode.
7) Voilla!!! You have got all your messages as it is.

Follow 1st step as it is, then go to search option on your pc, include system, hidden files and folders in search options and search for “mail” folder.. and follow steps 5 to 7 as it is.

We are mostly using our Real player to view the recorded videos or clips. But the problem in watching real player is that all the recent video clips that you view in Real Player is shown easily by selecting the "Most recent clips" option in Real Player?

UNLOCK PASSWORD PROTECTED MEMORY CARD

No software is necesary for this trick just browse to your phone memory and retrive the password.(this can only be done if the phone is not formatted after creating the password because if the ohone memory get formatted their is no more possibility to get back your password.

Well its quite simple but most of the people do not know it.
You can also try this trick on someones mobile to know all the secrete informations.

This method works well for nokia mobile phones with symbian operating system. I had never tried on other cells.

Use any software like FExlorer that can browse files in ur cell.

1. Open one of above software you have.

2. Browse through the directory, C:\system

3. Copy the file mmcstore and paste it to any other place

4. Rename the file mmcstore to mmcstore.txt

4. Open the file - The file will open in Notes.

5. You will find your password in that file. That file would also contain much more data which you do not understand, so you need to go through the file to get the password!

When ur cell is connected to pc by means of data cable or blue tooth, u can see the password by simply opening the file mmcstore with notepad.

Change your operator logo with the help of FExplorer

* Reset the operator logo :
1)Open fExplore

2) Go to the following directory

C:\system\apps\phone\oplogo

3) delete if any file(op logo) in this directory

3) Restart the phone (This will reset to the original logo)

* To Save a screenshot on a Nokia 3650, 6600 :

1) use the pencil key + '0'

2)The screenshot will be saved in C:\NOKIA\IMAGES\FE_img\

* To save a screenshot on a SX1 :

1) use the shift key + '0'

* remember, there are some shortcuts :

* 'send command' fails new firmware

Format your nokia phone yourself.....

We know that if some one got injured we first try him to give first aid then after we take him to doctor....................

So now if the situation is same and the victim is your cell phone then what are you going to do take it to a cell doctor or should try yourself like giving a first aid kit. Here are some tricks which you can try yourself if your cell got in the situation like below .

1. Blank screen phone unable to reboot.
2. Phone only able to boot-up to "Nokia" word screen.
3. Install some program but not able to uninstall it after that.
4. Error messages such as "Child Installer" keeps popping-up.

Do a Full phone formatting as steps below,

(Remember)
1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left.

2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card.

3. Switch-off your phone.

4. Press and hold 3 keys;

Green dial key, * (star key) & no. 3 key and then press the power on/off to switch on the nokia phone.

Remember, do not let go all of the keys and hold keys until you see a formatting word screen show!

5. After a few minutes when the Full phone formatting completed, your will back to original system and factory settting.

you will get your phone with default factory settings (like new cell) screen.

By this formatting you will only lost your phone memory data not the data present in memory card. But you should backup your contacts and messages to your pc or in memory card itself. But this condition will only useful when your cell is in working condition. Either you already know that your cell is completely dead and their is no chance to get the data back.

Create an animated screen saver for your cell phone.

Just attach few files which you like to keep in your screen saver and follow few steps and finally you will get your own animated screen saver for your mobile phone....

What You Need Is :
You need a phone with a colour screen , and it should allow you to set a GIF file as a wallpaper or screen saver. Now you will have to download a photo editor such as irfan view. You can download it from www.irfanview.com.
The other software you will need is one that can attach individual Gifs together to create the animation and for that you have to download it from www.idp.net/freesoft/gif_anim.asp.

Step 1:
Collect all your pictures you'd like to include in your screensaver . since most digital cameras or mobile phones take pictures in JPEG format, you will need to convert them to GIF.

Step 2:
Open IrfanView and go to File >Batch Conversion .Here in the conversion window , navigate the folder where your images are kept and select the ones you would like to use in your screen saver. Make sure that the button Batch Conversion as the job discription has been selected in the same window of IrfanView . Now select the output directory where your converted images are going to be saved and then click 'start'.

Step 3:
Now you will need to resize those converted images according to the screen of your phone. This you can find out from the phone manufacturer's website or from the manual. Most phones have a resolution of 128*128. now open your converted images one by one in IrfanView . Left click on each picture, holding and dragging the cursor to create a box, their only you will get an option of image resize, you have to square cut out from the image. Most cameras do not captures square photos, so you will have to do this yourself . Take as big a cut - out as you'd like ,as long as it's square . after getting the perfect size go to edit>crop selection and your image will get cropped to the desired size. you have to this with all the images and save them as GIFs.
If all your images are centered on the same point, and you want to create an animation , you can use IrfanView to batch - crop all the images .Go to FILE>Batch conversion/Rename.... and there.check ' use advanced options'. In the 'Set for all images' dialog that specify what you want to do.

STEP 4:
Once you have all the images cropped to the desired dimension, you need to fit the phone. Doing this pretty easy with IrfanView - simply open the Batch Conversion window as explained before, and select all the cropped images for resizing.
Check ' Use advanced options', and under 'set advanced options', check the box called' RESIZE', Select 'set both sides to', and set the sizes to whatever your screen resolution is - in our case, 128*128 pixels.
Click 'Preserve aspect ratio', and check Re sample function' if you are particular about image quality.Click OK.We can now proceed with creating the AGIF.

STEP 5:
Open Microsoft GIF Animator and click 'Open' Navigate to your images folder , and add one of them .Once you've added the first one, simply keep clicking 'Add' until you've added them all.

STEP 6:
You can give individual time intervals to the images by selecting the images and clicking the image tab on the right. If you want to apply the same effects to all images, click the button on top , so you can edit the properties just once with them getting applied to your animation throughout.
Under the 'Animations' tab , you can also set the number of times you want the animation to loop.
Once you'r satisfied , save the file Upload it to your phone using Blue tooth, Infrared or a data cable and set it your wallpaper or screen saver.Show it off to all your friends.
