New Delhi, India :  Telecom partners, Airtel and Aircel will be launching the much awaited iPhone 4S at midnight in the country.

The price range will be starting from Rs. 44,500 ( 16 GB, both telecom operators )

Apple iPhone 4S prices in India will be as follows -

• 16 GB   – Rs.44,500
• 32 GB  - Rs.50,900
• 64 GB –  Rs. 57,500

The devices look very much like the company’s traditional QWERTY handsets, but throw a 2.8-inch, VGA (640×480) capacitive touch screen into the mix. They will also run the latest BlackBerry 7 OS, which brings support for augmented reality applications via a built-in magnetometer and faster browser and graphics performance, and feature a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor and NFC (near field communications) technology for mobile payments.

RIM said these are the thinnest BlackBerrys to date and highlighted the phones’ 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities and 8GB of internal memory. Looks like the Bold 9900 will be marketed as the first 4G Blackberry smartphone.

RIM said that its revamped mobile OS is a “performance driven” platform and promises easier navigation through its Liquid Graphics interface, as well as faster, richer graphics performance and browsing. The latter is enabled by a revamped BlackBerry browser that includes a just-in-time JavaScript compiler and HTML 5 video support.

But unfortunately, RIM said current devices won’t be upgradeable to the new OS due to hardware restrictions.

Its certain that BlackBerry fans will covet and look forward to these phones. After all, the Bold is by far one of the more popular BlackBerry handsets, with its well-designed keyboard and svelte design. RIM even boasts that the new Bolds are the thinnest and most powerful BlackBerry smartphones yet. As far as BlackBerrys go, these two Bolds are perhaps the most advanced handsets in RIM’s portfolio.

Now the next question that anyone generally asks about the iPhone is that whether the screen will be smaller or bigger or what exactly.

According to the latest news, it says that the Apple iPhone 5 will be cheaper but wont be smaller in size.

Apple does want to reduce price so that there are more consumers using their products.

People are saying that making a smaller Apple iPhone wont make any sense as it would affect developers who make apps according to a particular screen size.

Even as Nokia is busy making a deal with Microsoft, it does have plans to sell older phones that run Symbian.

For example, the Nokia X2, which is a candy bar QWERTY phone that runs symbian series 40.

The Nokia X2 was seen on T-Mobile’s prepaid USA website.

The Nokia X2 features a 2.4-inch display, text and multimedia messaging, e-mail, Opera Mini, a microSD card slot, and only a VGA camera.

It will go on sale for $79.99 without a need for a contract.

As anticipated, Dell has unveiled its first Windows Phone 7 mobile OS based smartphone – Venue Pro for India. Designed in a slider form factor, Venue Pro carries 4.1-inch AMOLED display with curved Gorilla Glass technology and slides upwards to reveal the QWERTY keypad. In terms of specification, Venue Pro has practically the same hardware as in the Android 2.2 Froyo running Venue smartphone. In India, the Dell Venue Pro would be available for Rs. 34,990.

Microsoft Windows Phone 7 running Dell Venue Pro houses 1GHz (Scorpion Core) Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU with Adreno 200 GPU for graphics. The handset has 512MB RAM and 8GB onboard storage. However, it doesn’t have a memory card slot and that’s what makes it different from Venue.

Orange customers can finally install Android 2.2 (Froyo) to Samsung Galaxy S handsets.

The update has been a long time coming, with rumours that the Galaxy S would linger on 2.1 forever.

Samsung originally said the update would come to the smartphone in September 2010, but quickly changed its tune and promised a November release.
