The HTC One S is one of the newest Android device coming from HTC along with the HTC One V and HTC One X. The HTC One S comes with Android Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.3), HTC Sense 4, a 4.3 inches touch screen and a dual-core CPU. Permanent Root for Archos Gen9 101 Tablet

The Archos Gen9 tablets have been out for quite a while already and have been quite successful as Archos announced record financial results for 2011. Little by little CyanogenMod 9 is getting closer to an official release and thanks to eyeballer @ XDA you can now get access to nightly TouchPad CM9 builds. This is not official yet but it’s nice to be able to get updates on a daily basis. Installing these nightly builds can simply be done using ClockworkMod Recovery. Find out more after the break.

lithium76 @ XDA is working on porting to the Kindle Fire the latest version of MIUI which is running Ice Cream Sandwich. For those of you who haven’t tried any MIUI ROMs yet the end user experience is quite different than most ROMs, it is actually a great looking ROM which I recommend. The Sony Tablet S is the latest Sony tablet with specs that are very similar to other Android Honeycomb tablets: Tegra 2 CPU, 9.4 inches screen with TruBlack Sony panel. The design however is quite different from other tablets and is supposed to make it easier to use, it is also quite light (lighter than an iPad 2). The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a new smaller Android tablet which is part of the Galaxy Tab series. Size is not the only difference compared to the Galaxy Tab 10.1: the screen of the 7.7 is using the Super AMOLED technology to provide a more vibrant display. CyanogenMod 9 Alpha 0.6 for HP TouchPad

CyanogenMod 9 is making some progress on the HP TouchPad and version Alpha 0.6 of CM9 was just released. This release adds a couple of enhancements as well as some bug fixes and more. Ice Cream Sandwich on the HP TouchPad isn’t perfect yet as video hardware acceleration and most importantly the camera are not working yet but it’s getting there for sure. CyanogenMod 9 (Ice Cream Sandwich) has never been that close (and it will get closer with every day that passes ). While we are waiting for an official release, folks keep on getting their hands on the code source and compile it for all of us. The latest builds start to get really usable and now support HD videos (YouTube, Netflix etc.) on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and others. ICS looks and now runs amazingly well on that tablet. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet (what a long name!) is the flagship Android ICS tablet these days. Samsung will most likely not have an official Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab so we have to count on our favorite developers to port ICS to this tablet. Things are actually looking pretty good as some folks have managed to get CyanogenMod 9 (ICS) running on the Galaxy Tab. How To Root Kindle Fire 6.2.1 Firmware

Amazon recently updated the firmware of their Kindle Fire tablet and this broke previously available root methods. It also prevented re-rooting the Kindle Fire until the folks @ AndroidPolice and RootzWiki released a utility called BurritoRoot which can root firmware 6.2.1. Thanks to BurritoRoot you can now root any available Kindle Fire versions. More after the break.

We know Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.x) is coming to many devices like the Galaxy Tab 10.1 soon. But for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 owners who can’t wait to get their hands on it, DaAwesome1 @ XDA decided to take it on himself to grab the CyanogenMod 9 (CM9) source code, compile it and release it so anyone can give it a shot. Archos, the French manufacturer, has recently launched some new tablets running Android Honeycomb: the Gen9 series. The new Archos G9 tablets come in 2 flavors: 80 (8 inches screen) and 101 (10.1 inches screen) and are following up on their successful Gen8 lineup last year. The Kindle Fire from Amazon is selling extremely well with about 1 million units sold every week according to Amazon. This makes it the best selling Android tablet out there, not bad for a first release. This is where Vashypooh @ XDA comes in as he created Kindle Fire Utility for Windows which aims at making it easier to do specific tasks for the Kindle Fire.
