Another year comes and yet another increase comes with it. It seems that Mobile giant, AT&T, has increased the cost of its internet. While many customers are not surprised, many are outraged. However, there are reasons to substantiate their decision.

The prices of AT&T internet deals went up by 33% as the rates were increased for both smartphone and tablets. But the question on everyone’s mind is why they did it. It is pretty simple, as you use more mobile data, mobile carriers will charge more for their services.

AT&T is quickly run out of valuable spectrum. For those of you who do not know, spectrum is the wireless capacity of a data network. It is similar to the bandwidth you have on regular internet. The more traffic there is, the slower the network. This is the primary reason why AT&T increased its charges in 2012.

Smart Phone

If you look at everything else in life, the same rules apply. If you are looking for a car that was made in a limited amount, the price of it will increase. If you use more data than your service provider gives, you will have to pay more for it. As resources are strained and competition rises, the prices will increase. As the demand increases and the supply runs low, prices increase. All of the above examples are simple commerce principles.

We all know that the amount of data used by smartphone is increasing and that there is a need to fulfill those needs. However, this cannot be done for free; especially considering how much data is used. It seems that as the need for more data usage rises, the costs of data plans will only increase. When asked, AT&T did not state how many of its users were using more than 2 gigabytes every month.

The prices of AT&T internet deals may have increased but AT&T has also increased the data usage caps so it should be a win-win situation. The cost of AT&T’s lowest-tier data package (for smartphone internet) has been increased to $20 per month (was $15).

However, the data usage has also been increased by 100 megabytes (the old cap was 200 megabytes). This allows users to gain an extra hour worth of video streaming. The higher tier plan has also received a data boost. They now get 3 gigabytes a month instead of 2 (if they pay $30 per month instead of $25).

Tablet users have also seen an increase in their mobile internet plan. You can choose the $15 per month plan that grants you 250 megabytes to use. If you double the monthly pay, you can get twelve times the data usage (3 gigabytes). Last but not least, $50 gets you 5 gigabytes of glorious data every month. However, AT&T will notify users if they exceed their monthly limit preventing them from incurring extra charges.

Additionally, the prices of AT&T’s plans usually go up every February. Most people perceive this to be nothing more than another increase which they feel is fine. However, many of AT&T’s customers feel that the annual increase should not occur.

However, many users feel quite the contrary. Many of AT&T’s customers believe that an annual increase is not justified and that the increases in data usage are not scaling well with the increases in the cost of the data plan.

However, the costs of going over the cap have also been increased. $20 will be charged to low-tier plan users for every 300 megabytes of extra data used. $10 will be charged for every extra gigabyte used by high-tier plan users.

However, according to AT&T Mobility’s chief marketing officer David Christopher, it is the demand for competitive mobile internet rates that caused the increase. The usage of data by AT&T users has increased by 40% every year. He says that people want more and that AT&T will give them more. However, there will always be a cost for using more data.

It seems that the increase in demand, the annual increases and the ever-rising need for more data will always cause the prices to go up; whether a little or a lot. The strain on the current resources and wireless spectrum does not seem to make these matters any better.

Windows always work perfectly and smoothly, unless its core files are edited or altered by some one. Not everyone alter windows core files but unfortunately after installing and uninstalling a dozen of third-party software and drivers, Windows will start to act weird and behave abnormally. Unless your computer is so badly corrupted, I would suggest you to use the Custom mode and only select the necessary repair option. For example, if Internet Explorer is working fine, then you should uncheck Repair Internet Explorer from the repair options.

When you start the repair with Windows Repair tool, you will see a lot of black command prompt windows opening and closing by itself which is normal. Wait till everything is complete and then restart your computer for the fix to take effect.

Although the Windows Repair tool doesn’t fix every problems in Windows, but it is still a very useful tool to both computer users and technicians that automatically helps to fix problems in Windows. This program is constantly being updated so make sure that you have the latest version before using it to repair Windows. Normally in most email servers, once we click on Send button, the Email is sent immediately and it won’t be possible for you to cancel an email that is already sent to the recipient. When an email reaches the recipient’s inbox (which normally takes less than 1 second), the only “probable” solution to cancel the email is to ask the server administrator to manually delete the email but this is almost impossible.

Gmail has a brilliant feature of recalling a sent email or undo send email within certain specified time. This happens many times that we send the email to some other recipient or forget to attach the attachment with the message; this feature comes very useful in this case.

Gmail changes this by adding a very unique experimental feature where you can Undo Send emails. Basically after sending an email, you have a maximum of 30 seconds to cancel the sent email by clicking the Undo link. This is made possible by simply adding a queue before Gmail servers sends the email and not by deleting the email on the recipient’s inbox. You can verify this by sending a test email to yourself and you will notice that the email will only arrive in your inbox when the Undo link is removed. This Undo Send feature is disabled by default and only works on web-based Gmail.

To enable Undo Send feature, login to your Gmail account, click the Settings icon at the top right of the page and select Settings from the menu. Click on Labs tab and look forUndo Send by Yuzo F. Alternatively you can also type Undo Send at the search box to quickly find the feature. Select the Enable button and click the Save Changes button.

By default you only have 10 seconds to Undo the sent email but you can set it to 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds in Settings. Access the Settings page again and this time at the General tab, look for Undo Send and set the Send cancellation period to 30 seconds so that you have the most time to cancel the email.

After enabling the Undo Send feature, whenever you’ve just sent an email, a notice box will appear at the middle top of the page saying “Your message has been sent. Undo. View message“. Simply click on the Undo link to cancel the sent message.

Unfortunately this only works on the web-based email and not on email clients with Gmail’s SMTP. If you close the browser while the message is still in the queue, the email will be sent instantly and there is no way to Undo it even if you managed to re-login to Gmail within 30 seconds. Hope it will be better to use this feature.

Google Chrome is the best web browser, i had ever used. You might know that Google Chrome gets updated very often.  You may not have noticed it because Google automatically updates and installs the latest stable version of Chrome. Have you ever wondered what goes on when Google Chrome is being updated? Will the new version overwrite the old version? Or does the old version gets uninstalled automatically? The answer is the earlier version of Google Chrome are kept and not removed. If you check the folder where Google Chrome is installed, you would noticed that there are 2 folders with different version numbers and two chrome executable files (chrome.exe and old_chrome.exe).

Obviously chrome.exe with the newer version number are the most updated Chrome while old_chrome.exe and the folder with older version number is obsolete. One probable reason that the old version is still kept because of rollback purposes but the official Chrome FAQ page mentioned that they don’t recommend you to roll back Google Chrome to a previous version.

The old version of Chrome takes up about 80MB space from your hard drive and it is actually safe to remove the redundant old Chrome files since they are not being used at all. If you want to manually delete the outdated Chrome from your computer, here is how you do it. First you need to enable show hidden files, folders and drive from Control Panel > Folder Options > View tab. Then open the following location with Windows Explorer.

On Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application
On Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application

Delete old_chrome.exe file and the folder that shows an older version number. Alternatively, you can use a free and portable tool called OldChromeRemover which automatically detects the obsolete versions of Google Chrome and deletes it when the user press the Y button on the keyboard. OldChromeRemover requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and also Run as Administrator to work.

After following all above steps, you will definitely able to clear and Remove Outdated Google Chrome Files safely from your system and get some free space on your Hard Disk.

I played with the service for many time and it was a nice experience overall. The interface is quite cool with many options in it.

Fonetwish says that this service is now available for Airtel, Aircel, Idea and Tata Docomo users in India.

It may be too much work to read your Facebook news feed stories one by one but this is a good option to quickly update your Facebook status or for chatting with friends who are online. The price is reasonable too – you just have to pay a subscription fee of Rs1.00 per day for unlimited usage.
