Windows 10 Free Upgrade (Even For Pirated Windows Versions)

While Microsoft hasn't provide a specific date for the release of it's new operating system, the long hyped OS is said to be released this summer in 190 countries and 111 languages.

The tech giant is going to provide free upgrades to Windows 7 and it's 8.1 users. Before this newly announced upgrade, all the previous ones were primarily allowed for the officially licensed copies of Windows requiring some authentication and license approval along the upgrade steps. This time Microsoft is willing to provide those Windows 10 upgrades to pirated(non-genuine) version too. Though the upgraded Windows will be still in-genuine.

This will allow some majority users of Windows (currently running mostly Windows 7 and 8.1) to switch to Windows 10 making the transition more smooth.

Windows 10 is really worth the trouble of the upgrade. And this time the upgrades are free of hassles. Though it is not recommended without checking the criteria required by the machine for the upgrade.

The 190 countries includes Asian countries like China and it must consist of Nepal too. Though the list of countries hasn't been disclosed yet.

Update Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900) to Android 5.0 Lollipop manually

Samsung has recently released an OTA update of Android 5.0 Lollipop for it's Galaxy Note 3(SM-N900). It's about 837.27 MB. If you want the update via OTA then you can goto setting>>about phone>>software update>>update. But if you haven't received the update then today we are going to update the Note 3(SM-N900) manually.

Since, this is an official build you will not void your warranty. We will use Odin to flash the offcial update. Odin is an official software provided by Samsung for flashing. So the bottom line is that you will not be using any harmful or risky software to update your Note 3 to Lollipop OS and also you will not lose any of your apps or data from your phone.

Root access isn’t required for this process. But this guide can be completed for both rooted and locked smartphones. Unfortunately, if your Galaxy Note 3 is rooted, after installing Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, root will be revoked(removed) – you will have to follow a new root method that is compatible with the new Lollipop built, or else you might end up in bricking your phone while trying to unlock its system.

Because this is a manual update operation, I recommend you to backup your personal data, info and accounts before going any further. Even though this is not a custom ROM and you are using Odin for completing the flashing process, your data might still get corrupted or even wiped out. Therefore, take your time and use compatible backup and restore apps from Google Play, or other similar tools and save anything that you might use or need afterwards – such as contacts list, call logs, market apps, text messages, EFS folder, internet settings, images, videos or audio files. If possible, save your current ROM too by making a Nandroid backup.

A computer must be used on this process. You also have to use your Galaxy Note 3 as a connection between your devices. On the computer you are using, temporarily deactivate security protection because antivirus-like tools might interfere with the update process. Then, on your smartphone, from “menu >>settings >> developer options” enable USB debugging option (if you don't see developer option then goto about phone >> tap build number rapidly and you'll get developer option) else you might not be able to properly connect your phone with your computer.

Make sure that your Note 3 has enough battery life left – the battery status should indicated more than 50% power left – if different plug in the charger before going any further. Do that as if your phone gets turned off in the middle of the update operation, it might also get bricked. You can perform this step on other model but I'm currently using SM-N900 model for this update.

How to Update Galaxy Note 3 N900 to Android 5.0 Lollipop OS

On the computer you are using, download Odin and Samsung KIES. (Samsung KIES is required for updating your phone drivers,so it is necessary to download KIES to your PC)

Unzip Odin and follow on screen prompts for installing the program on your PC.

Then, use Samsung KIES and install the Galaxy Note 3 USB drivers on your computer.

Finally, from this page download the Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware according to your region (I'm choosing India). Place the update package on desktop and unzip the files on the same place.

Run Odin on your computer.

Enter your Galaxy Note 3 into download mode – just turn off your phone and then press and hold power, volume down and home buttons at the same time.

Connect your device with your computer via USB cable.

Once the connection is established, on Odin you should see the “added” message displayed and the ID:COM section turned yellow or blue. (If it doesn't turn yellow or blue then be sure to check your Samsung KIES is turned off. Or uninstall Samsung KIES restart your PC, Install KIES again and restart your PC and turn off KIES from taskbar and then it'll work)

Now, from the program pick the “PA” option and then pick the Lollipop firmware package.

Don’t change anything else on Odin (Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options should be checked) and click on “start”.

Wait while Lollipop OS is being updated to your Samsung Galaxy Note3.

When done, the “pass” message will be displayed on Odin while the ID:COM section will turn green.

Unplug the USB cord and reboot your phone as you are done.

If during the update process Odin gets turned off, you need to close the program and remove the USB cable. Then, you should reinstall USB drivers on your computer and force restart your device. In the end, return to the steps from above and repeat the update process from the beginning.
Also, after completing this update process, your Galaxy Note 3 might get stuck in a boot loop. If that happens, you should enter recovery mode on your Android device(For entering into recovery mode first you have to turn off your device, wait a few seconds and then press power and volume up buttons at the same time for a few seconds.) From recovery mode you should then apply “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”. In the end select “reboot system now” and you are done.

The handset is available for purchase in India from today, but the pricing is still unknown in Nepal. But we expect this handset to be priced around Nrs.19,000 in Nepal, as due to the popularity of Micromax's Canvas series in Nepal, we expect this handset to be available soon in Nepal.

Now let's talk about the specifications of the Micromax Canvas Fire 4. It features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) resolution display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Inside it is powered by a quad core CPU (unspecified chipset), 1 GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with microSD card expansion up to 32GB.The Canvas Fire 4 spots a 8-megapixel rear with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies. Software and Hardware

The software that Gionee has to offer you is Gionee’s new Amigo 3.0 user interface that is based on the latest Android 5.0, it is also the first Gionee device to get Amigo 3.0 . The device is powered by MediaTek MT6752 chipset which is made up of a 64-bit processor with eight 1.7GHz Cortex-A53 cores and Mali-T760 GPU with 2GB of RAM. Gionee has even more impressive feature on the table, that it can capture a picture with only 500 milliseconds, and its focus time is only 300 milliseconds. On the front it has a 8MP sensor. We can overall praise Gionee for it's wonderful job in camera department.

Battery

Nowadays most of the user look for impressive battery life and Gionee has also focused more in this department.Gionee has added a lot of optimization to this phone for better battery life with its 2750MAh battery, while Gionee should be praised for the software optimization too. Although the battery is non-removable. ACL technology used in its display reduces power consumption by 25%. There’s also a Dark theme, which further drops power draw by 30% compared to the default theme. A new sensor hub enables the CPU to wake up 20% less. Gionee estimates it has improved battery life by 32% and the phone should go for two days. Gionee has also include a extreme mode in case of emergencies, which restricts the phone features and gives 33hours of standby by freezing functions except calling and text messages to ensure basic communications on just 10% of battery.Clearly a lot of work and hard effort has been put into this phone for a longer battery life.While we still can't confirm about it's battery life now, we can hope to see the battery life of Elife S7 in coming days.

Sony unveiled the new Xperia Z4 tablet at MWC 2015

Following the leaks from last week, that we mentioned as the top 5 hot product to be launched MWC 2015, Sony has just introduced the sleek and sexy 10.1-inch Xperia Z4 tablet at MWC 2015.

We were at least hoping for a new Xperia lineup(Xperia Z4) from Sony, but Sony has surprised us by unveiling the Z4 tablet at MWC 2015. We are somehow happy that we got new Xperia Z4 tablet which is thinner, lighter, has a higher resolution screen, and packs more power.

In terms of design, the Xperia Z4 Tablet looks a lot like its smaller brother, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, released last year at IFA. It features the same design like, rounded edges is used to great success on the 10.1 model, and nice to see that Sony managed to make the Z4 Tablet even slimmer(although Sony's tablet has always been slimmer), at 6.1 millimeters (compared to 6.4 millimeters on the previous generation). The device weighs just 389 grams, which is pretty impressive for this range and class. And yes, the device is still water resistant, with a dual IP65 and IP68 rating( Nice for pool parties and shower).

We are happy that Sony managed to pack bigger capacity battery in slimmer body, as the Z4 tablet features a 6000mAh battery, same as Z2. With the trend going on, Sony has fitted a Quad HD display, which is a nice change, but we doubt about the battery life, unless Sony found a way to tickle the way.

The Xperia Z4 Tablet is the first tablet to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, featuring four fast cores and four power-saving cores arranged, as well as an Adreno 430 GPU. There’s 3GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage, and microSD support. The main camera has been changed to an 8MP sensor, compromised from last gen's 13MP.

Sony is considerably loosing most of the market share in it's mobile business, their may be the question about the Xperia Z4. Even though, we are happy to see some steps taken by Sony in such condition. The Z4 is an good choice for 10-inch tablet lover and if you are looking for a change then we would definitely recommend you to look the Z4 tablet.

Microsoft unveiled Lumia 640 and 640 XL in MWC 2015

Lenovo unveiled A7000 smartphone in MWC 2015

The announcement of mobile devices at MWC 2015 is getting more exciting, as the Company shows no sign of stopping, to unveil their latest products.While most of the people are still talking about yesterday's big reveal of HTC One M9 and Samsung Galaxy S6, company like Lenovo are continuing to showcase their budget devices. Two new devices has been unveiled by the owner of Motorola (Definitely Lenovo), one of them is A7000 and another one is Vibe shot.

Let's see the announced A7000 from Lenovo. Lenovo calls the A7000 a smartphone that’s “built for entertainment on a budget.” It’s the first phone to come with Dolby ATMOS audio capabilities, which should help in providing a richer sound, and it has a 5.5-inch HD display (720p). It comes with an LTE-supporting MediaTek octa-core chip, which definitely is meant to give both high-end performance and satiable battery life.

The A7000 is 7.9mm thin and 140g light, and comes with the latest version of Android Lollipop. There’s dual SIM compatibility as well, making the device great for developing markets like India and Nepal, where network may not be quite enough all the time, and 32GB of storage is included on-board. Lenovo has told that It’ll ship sometime in the month of March for a great price point of just US$169.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Unveiled at MWC 2015

The Korean giant Samsung has officially announced it's flagship device of the year "Galaxy S6" and "Galaxy S6 Edge". According to Samsung, these smartphones will be available across the world starting from April 10th. We expect to see Galaxy S6 launch event in Nepal in the same date(April 10th) like Galaxy S5 launch event. As there has been no words and signs about the pricing, we expect the price tag around $650(32GB) for S6 and $850(32GB) for the edge variant.

Samsung Galaxy S6, Any difference than S5? What's new about it?

Yes, there is a notable difference in S6 compared to S5. This is the first Galaxy S-series to feature a Quad HD screen(Although Note 4 has it) and runs Android Lollipop with revamped TouchWiz UI, which is based on Material Design guidelines. The new TouchWiz UI is said to be lighter, better (64-bit) optimized, and spot a cleaner and friendlier user interface.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 also spots its own in-house processor- Exynos 7420, an octa-core processor with 64-bit ARM Cortex A57 cores clocked at 2.1GHz, and another four ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz.

Though there is no noticeable difference in specs of both phones, if you really care or love those sexy curves and can spare more cash for it than I would not hesitate to recommend S6 Edge to you. But if you have some tight budget ($650 is definitely not a small amount) and don't care about those curve (can be called a gimmick), you will still get those beefy specs on your S6. At last the decision will always be yours but you will definitely enjoy any of these phone.

HTC has unveiled one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2015, "HTC One M9" alongside "HTC Grip". The HTC One M9 will be on sale from mid-march, but there has been no sign of price till date.

The HTC One M9 features a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD Super LCD3 display with Android 5.0 layered with latest sense UI 7 out of the box. It comes with 32GB of internal storage and micoSD expansion slot that will support up to 128GB microSD cards.There is a huge 2,840 mAh battery which company says will provide up to 25 hours of talk time. The HTC One M9 will launch in mid-March in four colors: silver, gunmetal gray, pink, and gold. But there is no sign of pricing of this device.

Alongside M9, the Company also unveiled the sports wearable for the folks out their who pump out too much. The HTC Grip is a unique type of electronic wearable that features inbuilt GPS and a pedometer. This waterproof fitness band can track a variety of workout activity, from running and cycling to circuits in the gym, and also detects the total amount of time its wearer has spent sleeping. Moreover, the HTC Grip is compatible with both Android and iOS. According to the company, the device will have two and a half days of battery life. The HTC Grip will go on sale in spring. 2015 will be considered as the important year for smartwatches. Smartwatches are not considered as a game changer in our daily life, we still can't see any "WOW" factors in smartwatches. Considering this LG has once again decided to play the game and launch it's "G Watch Urbane" in MWC 2015. It still looks similar to it's brother G Watch R but has narrower bezels with sleeker lines.

The LG G Watch Urbane spots a 1.3-inch full circle P-OLED display with a highly stylized all-metal build, a leather wristband, and a polished silver or gold finish.About the specs, LG G Watch Urbane comes with a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage and a 410mAh battery. The watch also meets IP67 dust and water resistance standards. Let's hope we get to see something unusual from LG, than other smartwatches, otherwise a person would still consider picking up his phone rather than buying expensive watches just to read notifications and alerts.

4. Torque KC-701

While people are still complaining about their smartphones poor battery life, Kyocera, a Japan based company, has incorporated with Wysips Crystal Technlogy to enable solar charging on the phone. Named Torque KC-701, it is a working prototype smartphone with solar charging capability. The Wysips Crystal panel combines the optical and photovoltaic technologies into one slim layer to be a part of the entire display panel. We shall know more about this technology and device will be known when it gets announced.

5. Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet

Looking up the financial problem facing by Sony in smartphone market, we were not expecting anything bigger from Sony, but they have decided to launch Xperia Z4 tablet. They have not told that they are going to launch it in MWC 2015, but speculating the situations, we are expecting Sony to launch it in MWC 2015. XperiaBlog teased the new Xperia Z4 Tablet with a “2K” display (probably with 1440 x 2560, or 1600 x 2560 pixels). Other features include 10.1 inch screen, QualComm Snapdragon 810 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 32 Gb internal storage, and Android 5.0 Lollipop. Hope the Z4 tablet sales can bring some relief in Sony's financial problem.

Moto E 2015 goes official for $150

Motorola, in late days are considering to produce the budget smartphones with full taste of stock Android for it's users. Once again they have decided to release the successor to Moto E, the "Moto E 2015". They have just announced it, and has given some raise and bumps in the specs. Last years Moto E was not something appealing in specs, considering the likes of Xiaomi and Huawei providing good specs smartphones in similar price. As mentioned the phone is priced at RS.11,990 and will be available for registration starting 11am on Monday via ohobazar. Once the registration is complete, you will be eligible to buy this phone. However the company has not announced when will you get this phone.

Android is an open source platform, users can perform varieties of tweaks and customization. None another than the popular Xposed Framework is back on Android Lollipop 5.0 as an alpha build , which adds tons of customization option to Android. Just the other day the developer rovo89 posted a teaser on XDA hinting that Xposed Framework for Android 5.0 will be available 'soon'. That day has finally arrived so if you are rooted and running Android Lollipop then go get it.

Before you go, just remember,though, this is an alpha build(like beta), so there are thought to be bugs, in-consistence and even boot loops. If you are new to modding community, the developer strongly insist you to sit down for a while. He explains:

Because there have been huge changes since the last stable release that need to be tested by people who know how to use a recovery, escape from boot loops and report bugs properly. I strongly advise newbies to wait until Xposed has been tested by enough experienced people.

Note that this framework will work only with ARMv7 devices. So no 64-bit and intel based devices are supported yet. But we are assuming that due to the rapid growth of 64-bit processors and intel devices those variants will get supported in near future. Additionally the developer has lot more important things to say, so I suggest you to head to this page first what he has to say. Unlock Bootloaders, Install CWM Recovery and Root Android One

Google usually lock the bootloaders in order to prevent the device from unnecessary hacking attempts, so a user cannot get full control of respective device. While majority of people buy Android phone due to their customization and affordability, most of the people doesn't know about unlocking the bootloaders and rooting. Today we are going to tell you about unlocking bootloaders, installing CWM Recovery and Rooting Android One devices like Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V and Spice Dream UNO. If you don't know about bootloaders and rooting then don't try this,if you want to know more about rooting then click here. And beware that this method is only for Android One devices not for other Google devices and we are not responsible if you brick your phone while performing these steps but we can help you. Follow the steps very carefully. Let's get started :

HOW TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADERS AND INSTALL CWM RECOVERY.

Before rooting your Android One device you should unlock your device's bootloader so follow these steps carefully:

Step 1. Download the ADB and fastboot drivers here and extract the folder on your desktop.

Step 2. Switch off your phone and boot it in bootloader/fastboot mode. To do this Hold Volume Up Key + Volume Down Key and then press the Power button.

Step 3. Now open the ADB folder on your desktop and Press Shift key + Right click on any empty space inside the folder, and select Open command window here.

Step 4. Execute following commands

fastboot oem unlock

fastboot format userdata

Now the bootloader is unlock and next step is to install the CWM recovery.

Step 5. Download the recovery.img from here and paste the recovery.img file in the ADB folder. (The same folder that your downloaded in step 1)

Step 6. Reboot the phone into bootloader/fastboot mode. To do this open the ADB folder on your desktop and Press Shift key + Right click on any empty space inside the folder, and select Open command window here. And enter the foloowing command.

adb reboot bootloader

Step 7. Now your phone is booltloader mode. Flash the recovery image and reboot

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

fastboot reboot

Now the phone will reboot and CWM recovery is installed on your Android One device.

ROOTING ANDROID ONE SMARTPHONES.

After unlocking the bootloader you can root your device. To root your device follow these steps carefully:

Step 1. Ofcourse Unlock Bootloader & Install CWM Recovery on Android One

Step 2. Download the Supersu file here and move the file on your phone and remember the location.

Step 3. Boot into recovery mode. To do this, Power off your phone and Press and hold Power + Volume Up button together for a few seconds and then release the buttons as soon as you see the boot menu screen.

In the boot menu, use Volume Up scroll between options and Volume Down to confirm (OK) an option.

Press Volume Up three times to select Recovery Mode, and then press Volume Down to confirm (OK) booting into Recovery Mode.

Step 4. Now you phone is recovery mode. Form here Select Install zip » Choose zip from sd card (or external sd card, you know where your files are) » browse to the location where you saved the SuperSu file and select it.

Step 5. Once the flashing process is done, go back to the main menu of recovery and Reboot your device.

That’s all. Your phone will now reboot and it will take some time as it will be the phone’s first boot after installing the root.

Samsung teases Grand 3

Samsung has been undergoing through numerous problems but this has not stopped them to release new model each year as always. Last year in November, Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 specs leaked out in a GFX Benchmark site. But after numerous leaks, Samsung will be launching Galaxy Grand 3 in India as well as Nepal. Samsung India teases the Grand 3 with the tagline- “The Grandest Ever”.

According to the leaked specs, Galaxy Grand 3 will sport a larger 5.5 inch screen, with resolution of 720 x 1280. Grand 2 had a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU but Grand 3 performance will be upgraded with a a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 64 bit CPU, with 1.5GB of RAM on board. The Adreno 306 GPU will provide the graphics. the phone will have 16GB of internal storage and should be more thinner and lighter.

Although camera has always been a main point in most of the Samsung phone, Samsung has decided to offer 13MP primary camera and 5MP front camera in Grand 3, as the Grand 2 had 8MP primary camera and 1.9MP camera up front. Android 4.4.4 should be pre-installed on the handset.

Due to it's design and price tag Samsung's Grand lineup is mostly famous among the teenagers in Nepal. Samsung's Grand lineup has always been a mid-range phone so we can expect it to be priced sensibly like Grand 2 which price was Rs.36,900 during it’s launch but was soon priced at RS.32,000 and then to Rs.26,900. So, we expect to see the Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 to be priced in a similar way.
