The anti-American way of life

2010-05-29T01:58:00.000-07:00

I just finished reading a forum of comments about a new government entity called CYBERCOM, who's job it is to police government and civilian Internet use. Of course they say it's just a way to make the Internet a safer place, they say there's no nefarious reasons behind what they're doing and that it's just gonna be business as usual. WTF!? An agency to police the Internet? Not only that, but the head of the NSA (the agency that was legally spying on American citizens after September 11 attacks by eavesdropping on phone calls and emails), is now, also the head of CYBERCOM.

Personally, I'm outraged. It seems I can't go a day without hearing about another way they've found to either take away our freedoms, or take away our privacy. The government always seems to be working hard at those two things. They say there's a "war on terror", yet in the end it's the American people who lose their freedoms and rights, and who seem to always get the shaft.

It's actually sort of ironic, this "war on terror", and also the "war on drugs" that's never done anything to stop either one. Example: Afghanistan is where 90% of the worlds heroin comes from, this is the place where the troops are at, where they're fighting for our "freedoms", yet they will do nothing about the crops. Furthermore, the heroin growth is what the Taliban use as their main source of income. It's how they buy their guns, how they pay for plane tickets to the US so they can fly planes into buildings, how they pay for training new terrorists.... The government knows that yet it still won't do a thing to destroy those crops. The troops would rather say "we've brought corn and watermelon seeds for them to grow instead".... Are you kidding me??? Like they're gonna give up a million dollar industry for watermelon seeds!?

Not to mention that yesterday I hear about the new Federal Biometric ID card program. Obama supports it of course. This is an identification card that contains tons of information about you and me. It may contain your fingerprint, retinal scan or some type of DNA. Furthermore it will probably contain an RFID chip which virtually anyone with the right equipment can tap into and pull our information straight through the air. RFID chip? that's just another way for them to keep tabs on the people.

What saddens me though, is that the American people have been "trained" or brainwashed into believing that if they want to be safe then all their freedoms need to be taken away. And so many people are OK with it. Nobody's resisting, very few are standing up and saying this isn't right, and those that do are cast into the shadows and called "conspiracy theorists", or simply put, "plain loony".

Sometimes I feel like I'm one of the very few who actually see the seriousness of what's been happening. It's not hard to see, the evidence is mind-blowing, yet most people just turn their head the other way and tell themselves and everyone around them that it's "for the best", our government is "just looking out for our best interests and nothing more".

It's time the American people had a wake up call. It's time we started to do the research and look into what's been happening, and what the government is really up to. Do the math, do the research, see for ourselves and ask ourselves if we really want our kids growing up in a world where you can't even walk down to the store without the government watching and knowing everything we're doing and why. There's a camera on every street corner, they have full power to listen in on our phone calls, read our emails, they're putting RFID chips in our ID's, our clothing and potentially anything that costs more than a dollar that they can scan from a distance and know everything about us that they want to know.

It's not science fiction anymore, it's not made up, it's reality and it's here, and it's now. Wake up America! It's time to take a stand and fight back against Big Brother!

Are YOU getting enough vitamin D?

2010-04-08T23:19:00.000-07:00

Are you getting enough vitamin D? Research shows that 50-75% of us DON'T get enough vitamin D, which could explain a lot about how dependent America is on "other" forms of medications, not to mention all the money we spend on treatments.

Vitamin D has been proven to reduce the risk of cancers, boost your overall immune system, reduce the risk of heart disease and many more.

Here's a video to watch that explains more about the miraculous healing powers of vitamin D. So next time you make your grocery list, don't forget to add your supplemental Vtamin D to the list, you won't be sorry you did. I just picked mine up today for only $3

Here's the link to a cool website dedicated to Auroras...
It'll tell you when the next one will be in the sky and what your probability of seeing one each night is, based on the geomagnetic activity in Edmonton.

In addition, it includes a DIY magnetometer section. The magnetometer is for detecting solar storm activity.

2010-04-06T03:18:00.000-07:00

Today the Redoubt Volcano in Anchorage Alaska began having many small earthquakes, signalling a warning to the residents that it is indeed still active, and may be waking back up soon. Geophysicists and scientists are taking samples and testing the data to see if there is real cause for alarm.

California 7.2 Earthquake

2010-04-06T02:05:00.000-07:00

Easter Sunday, a day for family, friends, and oh yeah, earthquakes. This 7.2 magnitude earthquake was located in the Mexicali area of Mexico, but was felt throughout most of southern California as well. It was just 6 miles below the surface. Mexicali was hit the worst, sustaining much structural damage because of older building codes. There have been as many as two dozen aftershocks since that quake, but only one casualty has been reported.

Bad Toyota! BAD!

2010-04-06T01:44:00.000-07:00

I remember not too long ago, when the whole Toyota faulty accelerator pedal came about, and Mr Toyoda himself got on TV and shed tears about how sorry he was for this problem and assuring us that Toyota is and always has been the very best in safety.

Well today it turns out that Toyota was actually hiding the defects in their workmanship. Some safety record that is.

Toyota is of course being fined the maximum penalty, which is a record 16.4 million, but a far cry from the more than 25 lives that were potentially lost because of somebody trying to sweep this under the rug while maximizing their pockets.

I wonder if this helps them sleep at night....

Furthermore, it can only make one wonder if that's not the only thing they've been hiding throughout their long history in auto safety, and just 'how safe' ARE Toyota cars?

Will.I.Am Predicts 8.8 Earthquake

2010-03-07T16:59:00.000-08:00

The famous rapper of the Black-Eyed-Peas, Will.I.Am, coincidentally mentioned in his song SOS about an 8.8 earthquake long before the Haiti or Chile quakes. Here you can read the lyrics to his song as well as listen to it.

Earthquakes, earthquakes and more earthquakes!

2010-03-07T16:52:00.000-08:00

What is up out there in the world? Everywhere I look I hear of another earthquake, this time in Taiwan. They're everywhere and they seem be getting worse. Of course they just be coincidental as the USGS states... Only thing is, I don't believe in coincidences! This is an interesting article.

NASA says Chile quake shortened earths day by a microsecond

2010-03-07T16:34:00.000-08:00

Evidently the quake in Chile was so powerful that it changed the rotation of the earth by a percent of a degree and shortened the day by a microsecond.

BadAss 2010 Camaro

2010-03-07T01:33:00.000-08:00

Guess what? I looove this new Chevy Camaro! Why? because it beats all the other badass cars that came out last year, like the new Charger and the new Mustang, in everything from gas mileage and speed, to horse power and price, and it's even a 6-speed, unlike the others that are only a 5.... Take that Fordie!

Beware the Tiny URL's

2010-03-06T03:00:00.000-08:00

Tiny url's seem to be everywhere now. On Twitter, Facebook... I even tried to post a link on Myspace and it created a tinyurl right there for me, (without me even wanting it to, of course). And, well, along with new and innovative ideas comes room for malicious intentions. Those tiny url's that you may be clicking on daily easily have the potential to steal your information, hack your accounts and create havoc in your life. Thus I'm giving this warning: Beware the tiny url's, and use some common sense when opening web pages from people you don't even know. Furthermore, the tiny url problem is also affecting YouTube. To see what I mean, watch this youtube video from Mike Mozart. And if you're like me, and you wish to protect yourself even more, here's the site for LongURL where you can do a reverse lookup for that little url text.

2010-03-05T14:14:00.000-08:00

Thinking about doomsday? Wanting to watch daily for new earthquakes and try putting the pieces together yourself? Take a look at the USGS site. In my humble opinion its a little frightening when you can see that Chile has had 12 more aftershocks just today as large as 6.9!

How to survive an earthquake

2010-03-05T01:21:00.000-08:00

Earthquakes are happening more and more often these days, and are getting fiercer all the time. So of course it has become especially important for us to know how to protect ourselves. The thing to remember the most though, which ironically is the hardest, is to remain calm. Panic may ultimately lead to yours and possibly others' suffering. For a brief list of what to do, check out this earthquake article. For even more information, check out this EHow page.

Windows 7 complaints, beefs and grievances

2010-02-06T01:22:00.000-08:00

Windows has always, as a rule, sucked. It is often riddled with bugs and software glitches that can sometimes make you rip out your hair in frustration. While Windows 7 has fixed many of those problems like easier access to recent and important files with jump lists, better support for DVD's, namely the ability to play them, awesome support for drivers, etc., it still has it's irritating issues.

I'm happy with the things that it does have, so I try not to let the little things get to me too much. However, it's good for the soul if one can let out the minor complaints once in awhile. So to get to the point, here's what I'm a little frustrated about with Windows 7:

I've been using Ultimate for months now. Only at the time that I installed it have I been able to do a normal restart. These days the only way I can restart it is to power it completely down and then back on. When I press the restart button or let it restart after making changes, all I get is a dark screen with a cursor. Hopefully that will get worked out some day but for now the poor restart button is taking a vacation.

Another issue I seem to have is the Music link in Libraries. It doesn't work. Not at all. If I double click on it it doesn't do anything. Very odd indeed. Now when I click on the drop down list in the left panel it'll show me everything that's there, so it works that way, but.... It still gets on my nerves if you know what I mean.

Finally, the last major thing I can think of, is the search feature. It doesn't work at all. When I enter text to search and hit enter, absolutely nothing happens!
WTF!? Guess that's Windows for you.

Well that's it for now. I'm sure I'll update this post as time goes by and Win 7 shows its true "potential".

Opera 10.10 Browser

2010-02-04T01:09:00.000-08:00

If you're looking for a browser that can give you speed, reliability, great features and is well secure, then it's time you checked out the Opera browser.

I've been using it for several months now and ever since I downloaded it I've been hooked. Right now the stable version is 10.10, but an alpha version has also been released that when I tried it, it was so fast it was unbelievable.

Opera has an incredible assortment of skins to choose from, the ability to make your bookmarks portable so you have the same ones on your computer at work as you do at home, Opera's own Unite program that allows file sharing of your music and pictures to anyone you want via the browser, and if you're like me and you download a lot of torrents, it has a built in torrent downloader... no more having to use another resource intensive program to get them from the web.

Of course it's free, so go to Opera's website and download it now. Use it as your primary, secondary or whatever you wish. I'm sure that after a few times you'll definitely want to make it your browser of choice.

I use in on my usb drive, my home computer, and my phone, it's just that awesome.
