How to submit your website sitemap to google

Ever wonder how a website shows up on google? well, here is a way for blogger/ people like you and me to "advertise" your website/ blog by submitting your website/ blog to google. You can use a tool called Google Webmaster. By submitting your website/ blog sitemap, Google bot will crawl through your website/ blog, indexes your pages and finally showing up on Google, if successful.

Here are a few simple steps you can follow to submit your website/ blog sitemap to google.
1- Go to the Google Webmaster website, sign up if you don't already have an account, it shouldn't take you more than 3 minutes. Then log in.
2 - After you logged in you will see this:

3- Click on Add a site, and type in your website/ blog address. For example, www.google.com

4- Next it will ask you to verify the ownership of your website/ blog by placing a Meta tag. Copy (Ctrl + C) the meta tag and place it on your website/ blog. It should go in between the <head> and the </head> section, before the first <body> section.

5- Click on Verify after you've place the meta tag on your website/ blog. That's it! that was easy, you have just submitted your sitemap to google. Now you have to wait for 24hrs for google bot to crawl through your website/ blog.
