Whatsapp has now become the trending alternative to instant mobile messaging services. From its inception it has maintained its simple look yet covering all the necessary features without annoying advertisements.
Recently it introduced many new features.It now has end-to-end encryption whereas many instant messaging apps don't have or need get an encryption. Some weeks ago it had introduced three new typographic feature.You need to type the text between some specific characters to get the text edits. Details of them are in the following picture

Presently I am using the latest stable build of Whatsapp and it is now having an extra custom font built in it. No such addition was written in the changelog on Play Store.

Breaking out of the mold from previous releases, Google took to the stage during its Google I/O developer conference to announce a new version of Android, dubbed simply "Android L." In October the name was finally released as "Lollipop" and given the distinction of Android 5.0. The name comes from the Android naming convention that goes in alphabetical order, where L would follow the previous release, KitKat. Airtel Charges Extra For VOIP calls

Bharti Airtel customers will now have to pay extra if they are making calls on Skype, Viber or other apps using their mobile data packs as the operator has decided to charge standard data rates for making voice calls over Internet (VoIP).

According to terms & conditions spotted on Airtel's official

website, the operator is charging VoIP over data connectivity at data rates of 4p / 10 KB (3G service) and 10p / 10 KB (2G service), and that all Internet/data packs or plans (through which customer can avail discounted rate) shall only be valid for internet browsing and will exclude VoIP (Both incoming/ Outgoing).

Airtel's move days shortly after the telecom regulator (TRAI) rejected proposals of operators to charge over-the-top (OTT) players of apps like WhatsApp, Viber, Skype etc for using operators' network. The telcos complain that the OTT players have been reaping profits using their network and not sharing revenue

“We have made some revisions in the composition of our data packs, and will offer VoIP (Voice over internet protocol) connectivity through an independent pack that will be launched shortly. Our customers can continue enjoying voice calls over data connectivity by opting for this VoIP pack, or simply use VoIP services on pay—as—you—go basis,” Airtel said in a statement

WARNING: The SD card of your device will be formatted and you will lose all content (for example photos, music, videos) when you unlock the boot loader

First, you should confirm that it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your phone by checking the service menu. In your phone, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
GO Here and click Yes, I am Sure.
Read through and accept the legal terms. Click I Accept.
Enter your name, a valid email adress and the first 14 digits of your phone’s IMEI or MEID number (remove the last digit if necessary). Click Submit. You can view the IMEI or MEID number by entering *#06# on your phone.
The unlock boot boot loader key will be sent to your email. Save it for later use.
Download and install the latest Android SDK from developer.android.com.
Download and unzip this file. This is the standard android_winusb.inf-file, with a few lines of code added to enable Fastboot to support Sony and Sony Ericsson devices. Make sure you are running Google USB Driver package revision 4 or higher in your Android SDK. You can see current Google USB Driver package revision in the SDK Manager.
Place the unzipped file in the usb_driver folder, located in the Android SDK > extras > google folder on your computer. Accept to replace the old android_winusb.inf-file with the new file. If you can't find the usb_driver folder, please install the Google USB Driver Packager using the Android SDK manager.
Turn off your phone.
On your phone, push and hold the Volume up(+) button at the same time as you connect the phone to the computer with a USB-cable.
On your computer, you will be asked for drivers. Point to the usb_driver folder where you placed the android_winusb.inf-file, and select the Android Boot loader Interface-file.
Go to the tools folder within the Android SDK folder and Open a command window(press shift button and right click on the window and select Open Command Window here).
Enter fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version, and verify that you get a response back (for example "0.3"). This means your phone is connected properly.
Warning! If you perform this step, you will unlock the boot loader. This may void your warranty and/or any warranty from your operator. If you still want to unlock the boot loader of your phone, enter fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY, where KEY is the unlock boot loader key you got in the beginning of this instruction. The boot loader should now be successfully unlocked.

Now you can flash any custom ROMs/Kernel and you also dont need to worry if the new firmware can be rooted or not as with unlocked bootloader you can always ROOT your device

Sony gives sneak-peaks/preview builds of latest OS which requires unlocked bootloaders, as they did with Xperia 2011/2012 line, so who knows may be Sony may give early builds of next android OS..

Google has recently unveiled Jellybean 4.3 For Nexus Devices and CyanogenMod started merging the changes in Google source code and then the updates started rolling over to several other unsupported devices. LG Optimus L5 is such a device. XDA Recognized Developer, PecanCM has started the CM 10.2 development work on this device. It has Great customization Features. It is based on CM10.1, and has PA's Hybrid menu along with Pie Launcher. It also has AOKP navigation bar along with some other Great features. Everything Works except native CM10.1 Bugs like video recording but for that you can use Videocam illusion app from the play store.

So without wasting much time, try it on your own.

BEFORE WE BEGIN MAKE SURE TO DO THIS:

If you don't have stock JB installed (11.3.A.2.1), you need to flash that first because this ROM only works with the baseband firmware that gets flashed with the stock JB ROM. GSM will be unavailable if you're coming from ICS. If you don't know about this, then find it Here.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Optional: Download any supplemental 3rd-party applications packages for the device you wish to use. (You have to install a 3rd-party app to get the Google apps, like Gmail, Play Store, and Youtube.)

Extract the boot.img from the zip, you will need this file for fastboot.

Put the phone into fastboot mode(Hold vol+ Button and plug usb to boot into fastboot (blue led):

Open a terminal on the PC and enter the following:

fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot.img

fastboot -i 0xfce reboot

While the device reboots, press the Volume rockers a few times to load recovery.

Optional/Recommended: Select backup and restore to create a backup of the current installation on the Xperia E.

Select the option to wipe data/factory reset.

Select Install zip from sdcard.

Select Choose zip from sdcard.

Select the CyanogenMod file you placed on the sdcard. You will then need to then confirm that you do wish to flash this file.

Multi-SIM operation:

Enable/disable SIM cards in Settings / Multi-SIM.
Only one SIM card can have 3G enabled, but it's not toggled automatically. To enable 3G on one SIM you have to make sure the other one is set to 2G-only mode first.
Some of the dual-SIM features in Sony's ROM, such as auto-toggling SIM cards based on time, different ringtones, or data usage tracking aren't included.
SMS are currently always sent from whatever subscription is set as the SMS send subscription. This includes sending an SMS reply from the "incoming call" screen or the "missed call" notification.
Note that battery life is shorter when two SIM cards are enabled. The reason for this is that the modem has to keep switching between two networks to remain registered and be able to receive network events, causing higher power consumption, higher latency, and lower throughput. This also causes the data connection to become slower when two SIMs are enabled. This isn't something that can be "fixed" because it's not software-related. Having only one SIM card enabled will improve battery life and data connection speed.

USB mass storage mode:

He has enabled the USB mass storage driver to support mounting two storage devices simultaneously, so you can share both the "internal" and "external" SD cards as UMS.

Recovery will always mount both storage devices, but the Android GUI for USB mass storage will share the external SD card only, because the internal SD card is intended to remain available to the OS. However, you can manually mount the internal SD card from the shell:

HOW TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER OF XPERIA SP

WARNING: The SD card of your device will be formatted and you will lose all content (for example photos, music, videos) when you unlock the boot loader

First, you should confirm that it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your phone by checking the service menu. In your phone, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
GO Here and click Yes, I am Sure.
Read through and accept the legal terms. Click I Accept.
Enter your name, a valid email adress and the first 14 digits of your phone’s IMEI or MEID number (remove the last digit if necessary). Click Submit. You can view the IMEI or MEID number by entering *#06# on your phone.
The unlock boot boot loader key will be sent to your email. Save it for later use.
Download and install the latest Android SDK from developer.android.com.
Download and unzip this file. This is the standard android_winusb.inf-file, with a few lines of code added to enable Fastboot to support Sony and Sony Ericsson devices. Make sure you are running Google USB Driver package revision 4 or higher in your Android SDK. You can see current Google USB Driver package revision in the SDK Manager.
Place the unzipped file in the usb_driver folder, located in the Android SDK > extras > google folder on your computer. Accept to replace the old android_winusb.inf-file with the new file. If you can't find the usb_driver folder, please install the Google USB Driver Packager using the Android SDK manager.
Turn off your phone.
On your phone, push and hold the Volume up(+) button at the same time as you connect the phone to the computer with a USB-cable.
On your computer, you will be asked for drivers. Point to the usb_driver folder where you placed the android_winusb.inf-file, and select the Android Boot loader Interface-file.
Go to the tools folder within the Android SDK folder and Open a command window(press shift button and right click on the window and select Open Command Window here).
Enter fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version, and verify that you get a response back (for example "0.3"). This means your phone is connected properly.
Warning! If you perform this step, you will unlock the boot loader. This may void your warranty and/or any warranty from your operator. If you still want to unlock the boot loader of your phone, enter fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY, where KEY is the unlock boot loader key you got in the beginning of this instruction. The boot loader should now be successfully unlocked.

Now you can flash any custom ROMs/Kernel and you also dont need to worry if the new firmware can be rooted or not as with unlocked bootloader you can always ROOT your device

Sony gives sneak-peaks/preview builds of latest OS which requires unlocked bootloaders, as they did with Xperia 2011/2012 line, so who knows may be Sony may give early builds of next android OS..

HOW TO ROOT XPERIA Z?

Once the bootloader is unlocked its generally very easy to root but there are numerous issues where rooting isn't working even using insecure kernel, so DooMLoRD, a Recognized Developer on XDA a new exploit for our Xperia devices which is working for sure!

Sony's just announced a new handset will be joining its Xperia line-up this year: the Xperia M. Much like the Xperia L, it's aimed at the lower end of the Android spectrum, with far from benchmark-busting specs. It's got a 4-inch TFT FWVGA (854 x 480) display seated behind a panel of scratch resistant glass, and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus chipset featuring a 1GHz dual-core Krait processor, Adreno 305 graphics and 1GB of RAM. There's only 4GB of onboard storage, but a microSD slot supporting up to 64GB cards will allow you to boost that. The rear camera has a 5-megapixel Exmor RS sensor and companion flash capable of 720p video recording, while 0.3MP front camera snapper for video chats.

Many ROMs are not being developed for Xperia J but the Roms which are developed for it are awesome. Recently a new Rom named Shendu OS has been ported by lozohcum, a Senior Member in xda. It is a good alternative to MIUI. All of the J users must try it. It is also a battery friendly Rom, so anybody who wants to keep his mobile's battery saved for a long time should give a try to this Rom.

Carbon ROM For Xperia Z

Many new Roms are being developed for Xperia Z and once more a new Rom has been successfully developed for Xperia Z. This is Carbon ROM and it gives us a lot of customization feature and this is also ultra smoth which is fully AOSP based and moreover it also has awesome looks. This has been developed by krabappeal2548, a Recognized contributor/Developer in Xda.

So First, lets know what is Carbon ROM?

Windows Blue is the next version of Microsoft's OS, changing the way the software giant releases updates - here we reveal what's known about the next version of Windows and what it means for users.

Microsoft has officially codenamed Windowsn8.1 as Blue, which is an extensive update to Windows 8 that brings more improvements than a basic Service Pack, without being a full new version of the OS.

Windows 8.1 will come with more customization options such as more tile sizes on StartScreen, more touch screen gestures, enhanced snap functionality, newer animations, etc. There will be a few new metro apps such as Alarm app, Calculator app, Sound Recorder app, etc. Also there will be many improvements in security and performance of the OS such as less RAM usage, better support for new hardware, etc. It might also fix bugs which we found in Windows 8.

You all might be annoyed by this problem of Windows 8. No matter how much you try to change the lockscreen photo or whichever photo you choose for lockscreen but default lockscreen photo remains. Its a cool feature of Windows 8 that lets you add a personal touch to your computer. and its the first thing which appears after booting your windows 8 and you might get sick of seeing the same lockscreen photo again and again. I have also encountered such error and after searching a lot, I found a solution for it. The solution is very easy. Here it goes:

NOTE: Make sure that you are logged in as administrator before proceeding to the steps below and Make sure that your Windows is activated.

STEP 1: Press the Windows logo + [R] keys on your keyboard to launch the Run window.

STEP 2: In the Open field, type gpedit.msc and then press Enter.

STEP 3: When the Local Group Policy Editor window appears, double-click on Computer Configuration, then on Administrative Templates, then on Control Panel, and lastly on Personalization.

STEP 4: Double-click on the Prevent changing lock screen image option.

STEP 5: Select Disabled, then click OK.

STEP 6: Now, double-click on the Force specific default lock screen image option.

STEP 7: Select Disabled, then click OK.

STEP 8: Your lock screen picture problem of your computer should be resolved now.

You all might be thinking that whats the need of a GB ROM when Fully Stable ICS and JB are available for it. But you all might have also heard that Old is Gold and you should know that this not another themed GB ROM but this is a complete rework of GB with many features found in ICS/JB back ported. jlmancuso, a Senior Member in Xda have done a lot of hard work to port it to this device. He had to merge the source code with multiple OG device trees to get it working. So you all must give it a try to appreciate his hard work.
