If the company did not comply that Amazon would D-List the company in searches.

M-Edge said in the lawsuit that in November 2009, it signed a three-year agreement to pay Amazon a roughly 15% commission for product sales. The company said that two months later, Amazon then demanded that it sign a new contract in which it would pay roughly 32% commission instead. The suit alleged that an Amazon executive threatened to “de-list” M-Edge from the Amazon website if it refused to do so.

According to the lawsuit, M-Edge said it refused, but Amazon kept pressing the company. In May 2010, M-Edge said another Amazon executive demanded that it sign the new contract again. The suit alleged that the executive said Amazon would “play” with M-Edge lists on Amazon’s website in a way that “no one will be able to find you.”

M-Edge said in the lawsuit that it couldn’t afford such consequences, since it got 90% of its revenue from Amazon, and signed a new contract in July 2010. M-Edge said the contract cost it $6.5 million in commissions and fees it wouldn’t have otherwise had to pay.

via GearDiary

The problem is these door busters only have a small quantity of each item that is on sale. This leads to chaos and lot's of people injured. This is the case of Jerald Allen Newman who police claim shoplifted and was leg sweep head first into the concrete floor.

Now eyewitness accounts say that the man may have been innocent of shoplifting. If you ever seen the movie Jingle All the Way you know that when there is like a few items to go around people go nuts. Well this Grand Father grab a game tucked into his waistband and tried to get his injured grand son to safety. Now if he ran out of the store the alarm would sound and he would be arrested. Well that did not happen and while in the store police saw him with a game in his waist band and knock him down on the floor which left him bloodied and unconscious.

Had the police waited until this guy was out of the store with the merchandise it would be much more clear. But this cop must be from PreCrime since he saw intent to steal and did the Karate Kid sweep the leg.

Diaspora social network came about when people were having issues with Facebook and it's privacy issues. This lead to the open source Diaspora which started to get funding from Kickstarter.

According to CNN Money states Zhitomirskiy may have died from suicide but this is not official confirmed yet.

via Venture Beat

Natasha Dedis who created the social network is a Mom that found the terms of FaceBook to be alarming. She set out to create her own Social Network and that is what Unthink is.

Some of the things Unthink is doing is things like picking a brand to "sponsor" it. Unlike Facebook who takes data and harvest it for advertising purposes, Unthink simply allows you to choose your advertising preference. You can opt out of adverting for a fee of $2 a year.

Of course Unthink wants to make money so when you engage an advertiser you gain points towards discounts and other deals from sponsors.

Unthink will have to do something really great to topple Facebook. Google+ and Diaspora have both had mild success trying to beat the number 1 social network.

via PC Mag

Woot is a subsidiary of Amazon but they don't act that way. The customer service is terrible and their shipping is poor as well. I inquired when my Xoom will ship. The customer service stated 24hrs. Well 5 days later it finally ships but the tracking number doesn't work so it hasn't been picked up yet from their factory. Even with Amazon's slowest shipping it does not take this long to get my item. And it seems Woot only shipped the item after multiple emails asking for tracking number.

Also the email for Amazon Gold Box stated $329.99 for the price of the Xoom. When the actually price was $339.99. Some people got a credit when they inquired to Woot. But they should have honored the $329.99 for everyone.

Update: Well customer service is making excuses. Blaming Amazon(Same company by the way) for sending the order too late to ship out. Then tell me it already shipped yesterday and in the previous email saying that it is waiting for pickup. How can the item ship out yesterday yet hasn't been pickup yet customer service guy?

BTW Woot says they can't process orders same day as they rarely get the order until the end of the next day. I have purchase from small time sellers on Amazon Marketplace and they ship same day. Why Woot get their orders a day or two later than small companies doesn't make sense. More BS from their customer service.
