Mozilla Firefox 2.0 Released - faster, more secure, easier to use and sporting a new look, this latest Firefox release sets a new standard for web browser innovation. An official announcement is expected today Tuesday.

New features in Firefox 2.0 include enhancements in security, tabbed browsing, performance, and extensions. The browser update also includes a built-in spell checking and an anti-phishing feature, much like Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7, which launched last week.

Still no mood in posting as I'm still doing recovery on my hardisk. Taking about recovery, you all should get yourself a good backup software. Acronis is giving out TrueImage 7 free. I know that it's an older version but it's a freebie for anyone without backup imaging software. Give it a try.

Good to found this gem on the internet. So far it's played almost everything I've thrown at it and it seems to have pretty much every feature I could have asked for - it really does look like they've taken out all the good bits from the other power media players and combined them altogether. Gomplayer come with popular audio & video codecs built-in so there no need to install codecs separately!

I'm still playing with it but I'm really pleased with what I've see so far - it's got hotkeys, buttons, EVERYTHING. anyone curious I really do recommend you giving GOM a try.

A tweaked version of the Firefox browser that makes Web browsing anonymous has been released by a group of privacy-minded coders. Every few minutes, the Torpark browser causes a computer's Internet Protocol address to appear to change allow you to surf anonymously.

The Torpark browser works by routing Internet traffic through several "onion" servers, obscuring the originating address. Torpark broswer is a tweaked version of portable firefox, therefore you can run it on a USB flash drive.

I love the fact that Comodo can show exactly which module inside svchost.exe wants access to the net and it lets me decide if only that module should be blocked or allowed, not blocking the rest of the modules that resides inside svchost which would be the case if I blocked svchost.exe
Never seen any another firewall do that (maybe they can?). They have just told me that svchost.exe wants access.

Creative Debuts Widescreen Zen Player

1st came Apple new Ipod, then Microsoft released Zune player. Now is Creative turn. Creative decides to launch its widescreen version of the Zen player in North America. The widescreen is at a 16:9 ratio and gives the player the W in its name. Transfer of media can take place via USB 2.0 cable or via the W’s built-in Compact Flash memory reader.

Other than MP3 songs and JPEG images, the widescreen will be put to use primarily for videos. They are to be encoded using MPEG-4 Simple Profile (SP) at 500 Kbps throughput. This is supposed to be sufficient for a low-resolution display. The W will support multiple codecs: MPEG-1, -2, and -4 SP, along with DivX 4 and 5, XviD, as well as TiVoToGo.
