It’s very clear that Google’s Android operating platform (promoted as ‘DROID’ by Verizon) is gaining a lot of market share in the U.S. SmartPhone market.

Why are Android-based devices doing so well? Google’s business model for Android is very different from Apple, and, yet, both firms are growing in market share.

In addition, the market is about to become even more crowded over the coming months. Microsoft will be introducing Windows Phone 7. HP/Palm is likely to introduce their next-generation handset. Sony Ericsson just announced a new corporate headquarters in Atlanta &launch of the Xpera X10. And Nokia just hired Stephen Elop form Microsoft as their new CO. As Dick Enberg, the well-known sports broadcaster, might say in this situation, “Oh my!”

Android is an open source operating environment developed by Google. Their business model is to make the source code available to anyone. Handset manufacturers then take the Android base OS code and add their own features and functionality -- plus specific requests made by the operator -- to then launch their handsets into the market.

This is in stark contrast to the PC world in which operating system software like Windows is built by Microsoft but licensed for a fee per unit to the PC manufacturer. Every single PC customer has the same user experience. Applications are then sold on top of Windows to provide additional functionality to users.

Apple goes about it very differently. They own the operating system and tightly integrate it to the hardware. The code is kept proprietarily by Apple, thus creating a ‘walled garden’. Apple then enables developers to build apps on top of their closed operating environment for both notebooks (Mac OS) and iPhone (iOS). The notebook apps are sold through retail and over the web whereas Apple controls the distribution of iPhone (and iPad and iPod touch) applications through the on-device Apps Store.

Google is getting device manufacturers such as Motorola, Samsung, HTC, LG, and ZTE to use Android in their wireless handsets and, soon, in their tablets as well. They are gaining converts because they have built a very good multi-tasking operating environment and are continuing to improve it. Are you new to email marketing? Would you like help evaluating your email marketing efforts?

That’s why I’m here. You can hire me to work on your email marketing campaign, but I know that doesn’t work for everyone. So everyone else can continue to read this blog and this post specifically for help.

Below is a piece of an iContact report I copied to help explain the individual pieces of an email report:

This shows the most important stats that you want to look at on all your emails. Let’s walk through each one:

Open Rate – “Opened” above refers to people who opened your email. They saw the subject, and clicked it to read the full email. They may or may not have read the full text, but it was at least exposed to them. In this case, 13% of total recipients opened the email. A good subject line can increase the open rate, and subject line tests should always use the open rate as the barometer for measuring a winner.

Bounce Rate – “Bounced” above refers to an email address that was not able to be delivered, either because of the email address does not exist, was not correct, or some other error. A simple way to think about it is like an undeliverable address for postal mail. Keeping this low is important for your sender reputation. You can do this by cleaning your lists before uploading and sending, and never buying a list from a third-party. In the sample above, 1.7% of the email addresses on that list were not deliverable.

Police department in Andhra Pradesh state are likely to launch online help center (technologically assisted by Scynon web call center) to help people instantly. Upon the latest meetings at Anantapur (district) Police Head Quarters. As a follow up to our “Practical Guide to Email Marketing in 2012“ this post analyzes and explains recent revisions to Canadian rules about how people send commercial electronic messages to and within Canada. Additionally, we provide some information on how to protect yourself from hackers, phishers and spoofers.

The US is widely known in the email industry as having relatively lax email regulations. In late 2011, our neighbor to the north implemented a new set of regulations on those sending commercial email. These rules are now in full swing, so if you sell software online, and you like to promote your product through email, you need to take note of Bill C-28 from the Canadian Parliament.

Violating these rules while sending email to Canada, Canadians, computers located in Canada, or hockey players may result in considerable fines (up to $10 million per violation for corporations).

Today Facebook begins rolling out Facebook Camera for iOS to English-speaking countries, a standalone photos app where you can shoot, filter, and share single or sets of photos and scroll through a feed of photos uploaded to Facebook by your friends. Developed by Facebook’s photos team without the help of Instagram because the acquisition deal hasn’t closed yet, Facebook Camera looks a lot like the app TechCrunch leaked images of a year ago, and is designed for quicker publishing than Facebook’s multi-featured primary mobile app.

Facebook Camera lets you rapidly pick one or more photos, apply filters, tag friends and locations, add a description, and post. While its 14 filters, batch uploads, and streamlined interface are a big step up from Facebook for iOS, the design isn’t as beautiful as Instagram and neither are the photos you’ll see in it. The battle between Bing and Google is getting personal, with both search engines fighting to become more socially connected. Microsoft recently added social features to Bing in response to Google's January rollout of Search Plus Your World (SPYW). Both forays into social integration try to bring your friends and connections into your searches to help uncover references you might not find otherwise.

But Bing and Google are taking different routes to incorporate social features into search. Google is going heavy on Google+ and blending social content right into its results, while Bing says it wants to keep search results "pure" and cordon off its Facebook-focused social features to the sidebar. Facebook tests 'pay to promote post' too

By paying a small fee users can ensure that information they post on the social network is more visible to friends, family and colleagues.

The tests are being carried out among the social network's users in New Zealand.

Facebook said the goal was to see if users were interested in paying to flag up their information.

The tests of the "pay to promote" system were discovered by a Facebook user in Whangarei, reported New Zealand's news magazine Stuff.

Windows 8 is the upcoming Windows Operating System of Microsoft that follows Windows 7. Till now Microsoft has realeased 2 Betas of WIndows 8 that are Windows 8 Developer Preview ( Released on 13th Sep, 2011 ) and Windows 8 Consumer Preview ( Released on 29th Feb, 2012 ). This Article is a review of Windows 8 Consumer Preview. It has a new feature called Start Screen which based on MetroUI Interface which is especially designed for Tablet PCs ! Windows 8 has a new layout in Windows Explorer adding some features which will remind you of MS Office 2007 or 2010. Windows 8 Personalization also has a new Window Color called 'Automatic' which changes Aero Color automatically matching your Wallpaper. Windows 8 is easy to use and is very Fast. Now, if you go to ' Settings >> More PC Settings' in the Right Hotspot then you'll see many options Like : Personalize, Users, Window Updates, Notifications and etc. Where you can manage to change your Lock Screen's Background , Start Screen's Colour, Change User Picture, Set / Change Password ( You can also set a picture password which works great on Tablets ), Sync your PC and etc. Windows 8 Consumer Preview will be Expired on 15th January, 2013 . Now The last but not the least, Windows 8's takes just about 8 Seconds to Boot Up & takes just 5-6 Seconds to Shutdown but depending on your System's Speed. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 ( Review + Price )

Now, forgetting the Samsung Galaxy Note ( 5 inches ), Samsung Launched Galaxy Note 10.1 ( Wifi Only ) which is 10 inches including the pressure-sensitive Wacom stylus technology which makes it a potential killer tablets for artists who are already in the Wacom ecosystem.! The new pen is little thicker than before. The tablet has better sensitivity and is responsive. It has a new split-screen option which will let you use two app side-by-side exactly like Aero effect in Windows Vista, 7 and 8. The 1280x800 screen is the same resolution as of Samsung Galaxy Note which makes it Interesting !

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will be released in the 2/4th of this year. It costs $ 679 !
