Tired of Googling for Technical Solutions

2012-10-10T19:09:00.004-05:00

If you're like me, perhaps an IT person like a developer, administrator or some sort of support resource, I'll bet that you spend oodles of time Googling for technical answers to error messages, or how-tos. If you are and do, you really need to know about Experts-Exchange.com if you don't already.

Experts-Exchange.com is a paid technical knowledgebase that spans Operating System issues, Software Development language challenges and much, much more.

I have been using Experts-Exchange.com for several years now, and I can say that it has been one of the best technical resource investments I have made, even over training classes and technical books. So, at the risk of sounding like an Experts-Exchange.com salesperson, you should check it out.

The pricing page, linked here: http://www.experts-exchange.com/whatIsEE.jsp?ts=plans-and-pricing outlines the cost matrix, which trust me is worth the investment/expense. The "Community" member level is fine, but to really save time you'll need to be at least a "Premium" member to get access to the quick solutions for problems that haunt your day to day technical work.

One more thing, don't forget to put in the "dash" between "Experts" and "Exchange" in the web URL address, otherwise you end up at ExpertSexchange.com ... LOL , I made that mistake at work once.... once.

Enjoy.

GoPro Videos

Recently I have found myself watching a bunch of videos on YouTube.com that are focused on point of view activities captured with a GoPro video camera. What I find fascinating about these videos is that they give me a peek at what certain activities look like from someone else's vantage point doing things that I would not normally be able to do, or things that I have even done myself but forgot how awesome those experiences were at the time.

For example, here is a link to a video of a F-18 take-off and flight (never done) that is pretty cool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf_hdFSnOEI&sns=em

... or a couple of videos of what it looks like to be in a marching band drumline, which I have done, in my youth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zLJuJGgTiQ&sns=em and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y42esRnOGW0&sns=em

You should search for GoPro videos on YouTube.com and you'll see some pretty neat stuff.
