Concealment: From Lakeside Llama this iOS app lets you take a picture and hide a secret message inside of the image (up to three hidden images). These images can then be stored in the in-app photo library, the device photo library, iMessage (iOS 5) or be emailed directly to whomever one is sending the message to, the company says.

Hide It In: Hide It In is an app that hides an image taken with your iPhone camera into another seemingly innocuous image from your photo library that can be sent by email. Select the cover image and take a picture with your phone. Developed by Jorge Blasco, Hide It In features among other things, AES encryption to ensure that even if the presence of a secret message is suspected, only password holders will be able to recover the hidden image .

Acoustic Picture Transmitter: According to developer Dominik Siebold, this app lets you transmit and receive images acoustically. To do this each column of the selected message gets transformed by a Fast Fourier Transform and outputted through iPhones speaker. On the receiving iOS-device the received audio is visualized by a spectrogram and the incoming images become visible. You can use this app for example to transmit images very easily over a phone or to put images in every kind of audio recording.

So here’s how to check if your LinkedIn password was among the hacked accounts that are already being used to generate phishing attacks. Go to LastPass.com/linkedin:

Enter your password, and the website will tell you whether or not your password is now out in the wild. The obvious question: is it safe to give LastPass your password?

Here’s what the company says about their tool:

"Only the hash of your password will be sent to LastPass.com’s servers, not your actual password. This hash will not be stored or logged at all. Please view source the page if you’re technically inclined."

One caveat: because the search will look through all the passwords in the file, if you have a very common word or password, it will come up as compromised. For example, here’s what LastPass shows when the all-too-common password “password” is entered:

This does not mean your account is compromised, necessarily. It does mean your password is too common and should be changed. Ultimately, of course, we should all be smarter about passwords and use a tool like LastPass or 1Password to make sure we have complex and unique passwords for every single service and site we use.

LinkedIn breached: 6.5 million passwords compromised

Attention LinkedIn users, your privacy has been breached. Millions of internet users can now see your password posted online. We request you not to be under false pretenses that you are safe from this epidemic. LinkedIn has already confirmed this news and has stated that passwords that are reset will now be stored in a salted format, which technically means that passwords are in an encrypted format AND adjoined with a random bunch of characters to make the password-cracking process a pain-in-the-neck for the hacker.

According to Imperva:

The passwords weren't properly protected. The hashes, in geek speak, were unsalted sha1 hashes. Not salting is a bad practice that we detailed in last month’s report on the Military singles breach. Salting, in layman’s terms, complicates the process of a hacker cracking a password. Not only do you encrypt the password, but append it with a random string of characters so even if those passwords are revealed, they look like gobbledygook.

LinkedIn was probably breached but the password database doesn’t indicate this specifically. Many of the passwords contained a high volume of the word, or a variation of the word, “linkedin”. This indicates that the pool of passwords comes from LinkedIn, though the hacker hasn’t specifically made such a connection. The password set shows:

13 passwords contained “linkedin”
509 passwords contained “linked”
1134 passwords contained “link”

Imperva suggest that the list of the security breach could be much larger than the already whooping number of 6.5 million. They have provided two reasons for their theory:

1. The list doesn't have any easy passwords such as 123456 (which is the most used password in the history of passwords) included.

2. All passwords are listed only once, leaving us to a guessing game wondering how many times was a certain password used.

After this massacre, SophosLabs geniuses did a little research of their own, testing which passwords were commonly used among the 6.5 million users and should never be used by anyone. Their study suggested that only 2 passwords of the 6.5 million passwords were unique and not used by anyone else. "mypc123" and "ihavenopass" are the lucky winners of the day. Unfortunately, these, too, were cracked and exploited.

Setting up Google Drive on Windows PCs and Macs is easy. Just go the Google Drive Start page, and hit the Go to Google Drive button.

Here are the few solutions to get rid of the Welcome to nginx! problem.
When i tried to open google i got page with single line "Welcome to nginx".From than onwards i started search for solution to overcome this error and atlast I got few solutions, nginx is among the 3 most popular web servers in the world, it's being used by over 10% of the Internet web sites, including 25% of the top-1000 ones. It is a free open source server software, focused on high performance and high concurrency, and it's absolutely legitimate and has nothing to do with any kind of threatening or malicious activity per second. A web page saying “Welcome to nginx!” is one of the diagnostics responses that can be produced by any of the web sites running nginx.

However, you are right in your assumption that something must be wrong with your browser, operating system or even router setup when you are trying to access a well known web site and instead of a familiar page you get “Welcome to nginx!”. This should not happen if your computer and network
are clean and safe.

How to merge partitions of hard disk in windows7/Vista to extend volume

Merging of two or more partitions is quite simple as partitioning Hard disk in windows7 which i mention in my previous post.
The procedure will goes on like this:-
The first three steps are common for both partitioning and merging
Step1:-Goto "start" button and Right click on"computer" then you will navigate to options click "Manage"

step2:-A new window will appear with name "Computer management" click on "storage" in that window and then go to "Disk Management".

After clicking Storage will give the your disk space in computer.

Step3:-Select the partition Which you want to merge right click on it and select "Delete Volume...",before doing this backup the content in that drive

Step4:-Then Deleted volume becomes unallocated space,right click on the partition left to it(here it is 'C') and select "Extend Volume..."

Step3:-Extend Volume Wizard will be opened press next,then select amount of space you want to merge Or keep the same value if you want to merge total volume of partition.

In the mess of Facebook's perpetual construction zone, you might have missed some hidden, key features that make using the service that much easier. Most of these tricks were gathered over time, and have now become a part of my regular Facebook routine.

Sign in with your username (unique URL)
Instead of typing out your entire e-mail address each time you sign in, use your username (the one that leads people to your profile, like facebook.com/sharonvak) instead. Even if your info is auto-filled, this trick will save a hassle when you're prompted to sign in on your mobile device or public computers.

Remove events without declining
One day it was there, and the next, it was gone. For the longest time, Facebook offered a "Remove from events" link at the bottom of every event page, so that you could delete the event from your invites without rudely declining.
Now, that option is hidden. To remove an event without declining, find your name in the guest list (left), hover over it, and click the x. Click Okay to confirm. The organizer won't be notified of your action.

Facebook has a little-known feature that lets you bookmark your favorite apps, pages, and groups from the home page. It's the list on the left of the News Feed, just below your profile picture.

Rearrange your Timeline modules
The four boxes below your cover photo can customized to your liking. Click the arrow with the number (on the right) to expand all your apps. Then, hover over a box, click the pencil, and you'll see an option to swap the box with something else, or remove it entirely.

This feature isn't built in to Facebook, but after months of using it, it sure feels like it. Facebook Photo Zoom, a free browser extension, enlarges thumbnails and photos when you mouse over them. It's super useful when browsing through the News Feed and you want to see what a photo looks like without clicking the thumbnail and prompting a new page.

Prevent tagged posts from automatically displaying on your Timeline
Friends. They mean well, but sometimes cross the line when tagging you in a post or photo you'd rather not make public to your friend list. Thankfully, Facebook gives you the option to approve tagged posts before they go live on your Timeline and in the News Feed for all your friends and family to see.
Go to Account > Privacy Settings and select Edit settings next to "How tags work." Then hit Edit next to Profile Review and you'll be prompted to turn on the settings. Now, every time someone tags you in a status, photo, or place, you'll receive a notification and will be asked to approve the tag.

Check your Other messages
You might have hundreds of unread messages that Facebook has filed in your Other inbox.

The main Messages folder you usually check contains "messages from your friends and their friends. All other messages will go into an Other folder where you can look at them separately," according to Facebook. This Other folder isn't visible until you view your main Messages folder, and Facebook doesn't send you a notification when a new message arrives in this folder.

Just how can you get to this folder, you ask? When you are viewing the main Messages folder, a new item, Other, gets added to the left-hand panel. This Other folder contains messages from nonfriends, which in my case looks like messages from pages I've liked and friends from whom I've unsubscribed.

Thankfully, there are a couple of settings to redirect incoming messages. You can move messages from the Other folder to the main Messages folder, and you can also do the reverse and, say, demote an overly talkative and inane friend's messages to the Other folder. Just open a message and click the Actions button from the top and choose the bottom menu option, which will be Move to Messages or Move to Other, depending on which folder you are viewing. All subsequent messages from that source will follow suit

We determine popularity of the website by the no. of active users or concluding how much real time traffic a website is serving it's content to and so on. There is another criteria which can be used to measure the popularity of the website, specially a social networking website, because it is where people actually will spend their time to.

According to Wallstreet Journal average people spent 405 minutes on facebook in January 2012, which is the highest in it's category. Where as Google's super advertised and top project Google+ had a average 3 minutes per user, which is extremely low compared to Facebook.

Google+ is new star in the sky and it is still evolving, it can sure boost up after being matured but till then Facebook is going to rule the social networking platform to connect people.

Google will have to work very hard to soar high in the sky. Visitors using personal computers spent an average of about three minutes a month on Google+ between September and January, versus six to seven hours on Facebook each month over the same period, according to comScore, which didn't have data on mobile usage.

The fair winning criteria cannot be reached because every platform has their consequences and Google+ haven't found it's place yet. It is still so young that it doesn't know what role it really should play. We just need to wait for sometime and we will have a better place for Google's social networking platform.

Apple's App Store breaks the 25 billion downloads mark

Apple has recently registered it's Appstore to the 25 blillion downloads list. The Apple Appstore download counter shows that Apple has now served it's download mechanism to provide access to 25 billion app downloads since the service was started.

Apple has announced that there has been 25 billion downloads from the App Store to date. The countdown to 25,000,000,000 apps began on February 17th when Apple said it would give away a $10K gift card to the person who downloaded the app — or filed a claim in its non-purchase form -- that broke the record .
Apple has run similar promotions like this in the past, celebrating 10 billion App Store downloads a year ago and 10 billion iTunes Music Store downloads in 2010. There have also been markers at the 1B song and 100M song milestones.

From a development standpoint, the 550,000 iOS apps have generated an average of 45,000 downloads each, although the figures will be skewed by the most popular apps like Angry Birds, Facebook, eBay, Twitter and others, which have done tens or even hundreds of millions of iOS downloads.

CONTROL CPU SPEED

Similarly dimming it also saves a good amount of battery charging. There are always shortcuts/functions keys given on all laptops to directly control the brightness of the screen.

PLUG OUT EXTERNAL DEVICES
USB devices, like flash drives, external keyboard and mouse etc are the biggest external sources that drain out the charging. If you do not need them when running on batteries, plug them out and you’ll notice a prominent increase in standby time.

TURN OFF SCHEDULED TASKS
Most of the programs are set on automatic execution when system is idle. While installing application some of them set themselves for automatic execution or say for example checking for updates online. Carefully check for all these type of application from Task Scheduler and turn them off when you want to prevent them from running while system is battery-powered.

CLOSE UNUSED PROGRAMS
This is the most obvious one. Applications running in background increase CPU usage. The more the CPU runs more the battery will be taken. Check the taskbar to see running applications and close all those that are not required. Try not to perform power-intensive activities while on batteries. Avoid multi-tasking and playing heavy games.

The above tips can easily extend and improve life of the battery of your notebook. You’ll definitely notice a huge increase in stand by time of your laptop if you perform all these.
