Neil Nitin Mukesh’s love interest is no longer kept out of view. That the girl in question Priyanka Bhatia is very much part of the Mukesh parivar became evident on the night of November 2 when at the Fame Adlabs at a private screening of Jail, Priyanka was prominently present alongside Neil’s paren

ts and brother Naman.

Neil mother and girlfriend sobbed uncontrollably throughout.

“Priyanka and my mom were hysterical with grief. They weren’t looking at just a character being put through a traumatic time. To them it was someone who they both love in pain in front of their eyes,” said Neil.

Neil admits Priyanka is an integral part of his family. “My parents and her parents don’t only know and like one another we also visit one another’s homes constantly. More than lovers we’re friends first. There’s a comfort level in our interaction that makes us very relaxed with one another. We don’t have to hide anything. We meet openly and are very proud of one another. There’s no pressure for marriage on either side. When it happens, it happens. The marital status on the passport would hardly alter anything between us.”

Priyanka has done a course in fashion designing. Neil is open to the idea of Priyanka designing his clothes for his films. “I’d love that. But it should happen on its own. Neither Priyanka nor I want to pressurize anyone to use her skills. But if it happens I’d be very happy to be dressed up by her.”

Another happy happening is the fact that Neil’s colleague Ranbir Kapoor’s film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani releases on the same day as Neil’s Jail.

Says Neil, “Ranbir and I are of course competitors. But there’s no negative rivalry between us. Our respective fathers would kill us if we behaved like two brats fighting for the same roles. I’m proud that Ranbir’s and my grandfather were very close friends. My father and Ranbir’s father adore each other. Ranbir is like my younger brother.”

So is Neil saying Ranbir is no competition?

“Of course he is!” rejoins Neil. “I’d want Ranbir’s film to do as well as mine. Fortunately Jail and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani look like the North and South pole.”

On Tuesday night all of Neil’s forthcoming directors saw Jail at Yashraj Studios, “David Dhawan, Abbas-Mustan, Kunal Kohli and Ken Ghosh saw the film. I think they liked what they saw. So I’m safe in their films.”

it’s her problem. I am, in fact, too shocked to react after the incident.

I had gone along with a group of friends to the New
Year’s party at Ritesh Sidhwani’s place. I wasn’t even
bothered about Anil and Raveena and was doing my own thing. I was with
Ritesh’s cousin and since there were only two sets of sofas at the place,
we decided to sit on one. Now, if Raveena is so insecure that even if I am five
feet close to her husband, she loses her cool, what can I say? She started
yelling, “Throw that slut out of the party!” Then she threw a wine
glass at me. I just moved out but she continued with her yelling. Later, I
realised that my finger was bleeding as the glass had cut my skin.

What happened with Anil was five years ago. We are mature adults
and it was our marriage. It was entirely our problem and she has no business to
talk about it. Her allegations are uncalled for and completely cooked up.

NEW DELHI: Samir Thapar, vice
president and managing director of JCT Ltd, has become the latest victim of
police high-handedness after he was picked up from an exclusive lounge bar by
mistake and detained for almost 10 hours.

The police had gone to LAP,
a lounge bar co-owned by film actor

Arjun Rampal, on early Saturday morning
following a complaint against Sahil Dhingra, owner of leading apparel exporter
Orient Craft, who was accompanied by Manu Sharma, the killer of Jessica Lall who
is out on parole at present. While Dhingra was detained, Manu gave cops the slip
and exited by the rear door.

The police posse appeared in LAP
following an argument that Dhingra is learnt to have had with a senior police
officer's son in the adjoining Ashok Hotel's F Bar. It's learnt that Dhingra,
who the police says was moving around with four armed guards, picked up a fight
with the cop's son.

After F Bar's management intervened, Dhingra and
Manu Sharma took themselves and the action to LAP. Within a few minutes of their
entry into LAP, a posse of policemen entered the lounge bar and apprehended
Dhingra. Samir Thapar, whowas leaving the bar around this time, suddenly found
the police asking him to stop. When he asked what the matter was, he was
summarily bundled into a police Gypsy and taken to the Chanakyapuri Police
Station.

Said a furious Thapar, ``I walked out of LAP at around 3am.
When I started my car, the cops caught hold of me and dragged me into their
Gypsy. At first I thought that maybe the sound of my Ferrari's engine was too
loud. I was taken to Chanakyapuri police station, and interrogated till 1pm. I
have been dragged into this whole thing unnecessarily.''

He added,
``Sahil Dhingra was also in the same Gypsy and was taken to the thana with me
and interrogated. I had come to LAP independently, and left independently. I
didn't interact with Sahil at all. I am going to take legal action against Delhi
Police. There was no complaint made by LAP, and none by Samrat. I am going to
speak to the Lieutenant-Governor about this."

A senior police
officer said Thapar's detention ``does look a mistake''. Dhingra, he said, moves
around with gunmen and has been involved in unnecessary fights in the
past.

Thapar wondered that if it was a case of mistaken identity, how
was he detained for 10 hours. ``I can understand them making a mistake at 3am.
But why keep me in the police station till 1pm? And why slap false cases against
me?''

Thapar and Dhingra were booked under Section 107 (security for
keeping the peace in other cases) and 151 (arrest to prevent the commission of
cognizable offences) of the Code of Criminal Procedure Act. They were
subsequently produced before the special executive magistrate on Saturday and
granted bail.

The entire episode has also brought focus on Manu
Sharma and how he was moving around Delhi's tony bars when he is supposed to be
serving a life term. Manu was granted parole for one month, extended by another
month, because his mother was said to be ailing. However, the mother was seen on
Saturday addressing a press conference in Chandigarh announcing the launch of an
under-19 girls' cricket tournament.

Speaking on condition of
anonymity, F Bar executives confirmed to TOI, "Sahil Dhingra, Manu Sharma and a
foreign girl entered F Bar at around 2am on Saturday. Dhingra got into a fight
with some security guards of a VVIP guest. The ruckus took place at the club's
main entrance near the hotel's lobby. Later, the club management staff walked up
to Sahil and sorted out the matter. Sahil and Manu then entered the club.

Within a few minutes, Sahil got into a squabble with a police
officer's son. Sahil was heard asking him, `So what if you are a police
officer's son?' A heated exchange followed. The club's management again
intervened and got the matter resolved. Sahil and Manu left the club around
2.30am.''

The two, along with their companions, then moved to LAP.
That's when the cops arrived, and took away Dhingra and Samir
Thapar.

According to Thapar, a policemen later called his manager's
phone. When Thapar came on the line and spoke to him, the policeman apologized
for his "mistaken arrest". He gave TOI the policeman's number.

When
we called, it turned out that the number belonged to Anil Bharadwaj, additional
SHO of Chanakyuri police station. However, Bharadwaj said he was not present
when Thapar was arrested, and denied speaking to Thapar. When TOI asked him how
Thapar knew his number, Bharadwaj replied, "I am a public servant. Anyone can
get my number."

Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal, co-owner of LAP, told
TOI, "I was at LAP on Friday night but left before the incident happened. I
heard the party was going on smoothly till cops suddenly arrived. A police
officer grabbed Sahil Dhingra and dragged him into the Gypsy. Dhingra had walked
in with Manu Sharma after 2.30am. I heard Sahil and Manu had created some ruckus
at F Bar, after which they came to LAP. Later, I got to know from my staff that
Samir Thapar was also forcibly taken to the Chanakyapuri police station for no
reason. I was shocked when I was told that Samir was accused of causing
disruption when no such thing had happened. It is sad that he was unnecessarily
dragged into the situation."

MUMBAI: The depression over southeast
and adjoining central Arabian Sea moved northwestwards on Tuesday, intensifying
into a deep depression which is likely to develop further into a cyclonic storm
and hit Gujarat, MeT office said.

It advised fishermen not to
venture into the sea along a

Gujarat coasts.

Squally winds speed reaching 55-65 kmph, gusting to
75 kmph, are likely to commence along and off south Gujarat and Kerala coasts
besides Lakshadweep from tomorrow afternoon, while it will hit Kerala,
Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra coasts during the next 48 hours, it said.

The deep depression lay centred at 0830 hour on Tuesday over east
central Arabian Sea near latitude 13.0 degree North and longitude 70.5 deg East,
about 470 km west of Mangalore, 470 km southwest of Goa and 700 km
south-southwest of Mumbai, the Colaba Weather Bureau said.

"The
system is likely to intensify further into a cyclonic storm and move in a
northerly direction for some time and then north-northeastwards and cross south
Gujarat and North Konkan between Mahuva and Dahanu by early hours of November
12," deputy director general of India meteorological department R V Sharma
said.

Akrit Jaswal (born April 23, 1993) is a Indian adolescent who has been hailed as a child prodigy who has gained fame in his native India as a physician, despite never having attended medical school. He gained fame for performing surgery at the age of seven.He is a Hindu Rajput

of Jaswal clan from Himachal Pradesh India. According to his mother Raksha Kumari Jaswal, Akrit was an early starter, skipped the toddler stage and started walking. He started speaking in his 10th month and was reading Shakespeare at the age of 5. At 7, he performed an operation on a 8 year old girl whose fingers were fused together after being burnt. Akrit developed a passion for science and anatomy at an early age. Doctors at local hospitals took notice and started allowing him to observe surgeries when he was 6 years old. Inspired by what he saw, Akrit read everything he could on the topic. When an impoverished family heard about his amazing abilities, they asked if he would operate on their daughter for free. Her surgery was a celebrated success.

After the surgery, Akrit was hailed as a medical genius in India. Neighbors and strangers flocked to him for advice and treatment. At age 11, Akrit was admitted to a Punjab University. He’s the youngest student ever to attend an Indian university. That same year, he was also invited to London’s famed Imperial College to exchange ideas with scientists on the cutting edge of medical research. Akrit says he has millions of medical ideas, but he’s currently focused on developing a cure for cancer. “I’ve developed a concept called oral gene therapy on the basis of my research and my theories”, he says, “I’m quite dedicated towards working on this mechanism.” Growing up, Akrit says he used to see cancer patients lying on the side of the road because they couldn’t afford treatment or hospitals had no space for them. Now, he wants to use his intellect to ease their suffering. “[I've been] going to hospitals since the age of 6, so I have seen firsthand people suffering from pain,” he says. “I get very sad, and so that’s the main motive of my passion about medicine, my passion about cancer.” Currently, Akrit is working toward a bachelor’s degree in zoology, botany and chemistry. Someday, he hopes to continue his studies at Harvard University. He became India’s youngest university student and is currently studying for a BSc in a Punjab University, Chandigarh, India. He possesses books such as Gray’s Anatomy, and textbooks on surgery, anaesthesia, anatomy, physiology, cancer, and others. Cricket World Cup 2011 Schedule

India will meet Bangladesh in the opening match of the ICC World Cup 2011 on February 19 in Dhaka.

The World Cup committee announced the match schedule of the tournament in Mumbai on Monday.

A total of 49 matches will be played in the 43-day tournament tournament, which was reallocated following the International Cricket Council's decision to drop Pakistan as a co-host because of security concerns.

India will host 29 matches at eight venues, including the final at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, a semi-final in Mohali and a quarter-final in Ahmedabad while Sri Lanka will stage 12 matches at three venues, including a semi-final in Colombo and a quarter-final.

The Opening Ceremony will be held on February 17, in Dhaka, which, besides the opening match, will also stage two quarter-finals and six group matches.

The groupings for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 are as follows:

Group A: Australia , Pakistan, New Zealand , Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada , Kenya

Group B: India, South Africa , England , West Indies , Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands.
