Just checked my AdSense account and delighted to see AdSense for Feeds enabled on it.

Google brought FeedBurner, there is no automatic way to integrate AdSense and Feedburner. This has to be done manually by AdSense support team.Like AdSense for Content, ads in feed are also contextual in nature. So I am expecting nice revenue from this AdSense for Feeds program.
I think bloggers with full text feeds will get more benefit as their posts will have more text to target. Start code -->

Orkut launched one of the most awaited feature - Notification via SMS. This feature let you receive new scrap notifications, get friend info, and more from your mobile device.

Just go to http://www.orkut.co.in/MobileSetupSettings.aspx and you will see option to specify your mobile number to receive notifications.

Also check out SMS commands page for SMS orkutting. I think SMS command will work only in Brazil.

As of now this new feature is available in India and Brazil only. Moreover in India. Aircel, BPL, MTNL, Reliance, Spice and Tata networks are supported.

Do not forget to check price details for your carrier as this service may cost you some bucks.

Recover Your Deleted Orkut Community

First if your community still exists and in your control, better add a co-owner for your community.

Next comes scenario where your community is deleted by mistake or by someone who has access to your account.

There is a form on Orkut which you can fill up for mistakenly deleted communities. I am not sure if this still works as it is quite old. Also I am not sure if it will work if someone first transfer your community to other account and then delete it

Please note the difference, if someone with access to your account deletes your community directly, it can count as a mistakenly deleted community.

Also for filing request to undelete your community you will need to specify a link to it. So please save a link to your community at some place which you can easily access.

You can get link to your community by opening it in a browser. When its opened, address bar will show community link only.What if I do not have community link ?

The only think matters is your community ID. Rest URL is always same like http://www.orkut.com/Community.aspx?cmm=[SOME_NUMBER]

* So do you remember a number after cmm in its link like 19587001 in above example?
* Or have you ever posted any link related to your community like link to a topic, poll, etc in any scrap or on web. Then try to find that link and find number after “cmm=”.
* Or used orkutfeeeds to subscribe to your community or any topic from it? In this case you can find cmm=ID in your feed reader. Just go through read items.
* Or just try searching your community using Orkut’s search feature. If it has recently deleted then it may show up in search results there.
* Have your ever saved your community logo on your PC? If yes then try to find that image. If you haven’t renamed it, it will have name like .jpg (ex: 19587001.jpg)

If you can’t obtain your community id, then you cannot request orkut to undelete it.Start code -->

I've seen it many times. A new entrepreneur is excited because their website just went live after weeks, or even months, of hard work. But the excitement doesn't last long when they see that they have yet to make a sale. Or maybe they've only made one or two. They're not covering their expenses, and they're certainly not making enough to live on.

I make sure to tell them not to worry, because it's happened to all of us. Especially with a new website. And there is an answer. Or, I should say, a few answers.

There are some steps you can follow to make sure you are doing everything right to maximize your sales. Look through the list below. If you can say definitively that you have taken all of these steps, then you should see a big increase in your sales. Here you go:

1. Make sure there is a market for what you're selling

By now, you've probably heard a lot about finding your online niche. If you did your research properly, you should have found a market that has a problem that you can provide an answer for. That's probably the most important part of your business.

If you haven't done the proper research yet, get started now. Use a keyword tool like Nichebot or Wordtracker to find what people are searching for online. And visit the forums to see what people are talking about and what problems they need to solve.

Don't skip this step. It's important that internet users are going to want what you're selling or your whole business is lost before it even begins.

2. Make sure that you're selling something that solves their problem

If you've found the right niche, then you should have some idea about what their main problems are. Do some research to find out what they need to solve that problem, then offer it to them. That's the formula in a nutshell. Don't let your product stray from the main topic. Solve their problem, and you'll have success.

3. Make sure you're getting enough traffic

It's difficult to make a good decision about how effective your sales process is if you haven't had enough traffic to your website yet. I recommend waiting until you've had at least 1,000 visitors. Anything less and you won't really have enough data to work with. Be patient.

4. Find out where your traffic is coming from

It's important that you are getting targeted visitors to your website. Make sure that if you're using pay-per-click advertising you're bidding only on words that are right for your market. 5. Test different headlines

6. Make sure your sales copy is effective

The last thing you want to do once you have a visitor reading your sales copy is to distract them with something that isn't leading directly to a sale. In other words, leave out any links to other websites, forget about adsense and banner ads, and don't start talking about things that don't relate to your subject.

Concentrate on your sales message and proof elements, and dispelling any doubts they may have about giving you their money. This includes using testimonials if you have them, a 100% satisfaction guarantee, and good strong sales copy that keeps them interested all the way through to your "buy now" button.

7. Test different price points

It's hard to know what's the right price for your item right off the bat. You may have it at the price you're willing to pay, but that may not be the price everyone is willing to pay. A lot of people will expect to buy something in your market within a certain price range. If your price is too high, they'll shop elsewhere. If your price is too low, yes too low, they might think that what you're offering is of poor quality. You can answer this problem by simply trying out different prices to see what works best.

8. Make sure your order processing works properly and is easy to use

Test all of the links from your "add to cart" buttons all the way through to your "thank you" page. You can normally run a $0 test before you go live with most shopping cart and merchant account systems. Obviously, if your ordering system isn't working right, you're not going to see any sales.

Also, make sure that it's easy to use. Get a friend to run through it for you. It may make perfect sense to you, but that doesn't mean that it will for everyone. Let some other people try it out and see if they get stuck anywhere. Chances are good that if they do, then others will too. If everything isn't as easy as possible to use, then some people will just leave rather than trying to figure it out.

There you go. Eight steps you can follow with your site to make sure that you are maximizing your sales. Just from my own experience, anytime I was able to say that I went through all of the steps above completely, I saw significant improvement, and found good success with my website. How To Choose A Website Layout

The layout for a website is as important as the content that is chosen for the website itself. This is because the layout decides how easy a website is to navigate and how easy it is to find things on it.

You have probably noticed yourself that there are layouts which are fast and easy to use and ones that you spend more time looking for what you want than it takes to obtain the information once you have found it.

Overall people are more likely to visit and return to websites that are easy to use. Also layouts that are easy to use are usually easier to create. There are a couple of different aspects to a website layout. The first is going to be the design.

How is it set up? Where is everything located? Does it contain everything that you are looking for or that you want to have on your website? Keep in mind that you can use different layouts for different pages. Just because they belong to the same website does not mean that they are required to be uniform.

Though it does help to maintain a sense of uniformity it is not necessary and many people choose a variety of layouts and templates for their websites depending on the subject matter. In this way you can think of a website as a scrapbook each page presenting a different theme or event.

The choice of uniformity or choosing a variety of templates and layouts really depends on what you are looking for and how much work you want to put into the website itself.

You may also want to check to see if the website builder you are using supports multiple layouts. There are some which are single layout based. You are going to want a layout that is not too busy that it detracts from the purpose of your website which is the content on it.

The layout is also based on what you are presenting. If you are presenting primarily text you are not going to want a layout that is primarily for pictures and visa versa. You will also want a layout which provides all the link and page option requirements that you need.

Adding additional spaces is not difficult but you can cut work down considerably with the right template. You will also want to make sure that the background colors are easy on the eyes: bright colors and multiple colors are great. However, if you can not read the text because of the color or it is hard on the eyes chances are you will end up losing visitors.

After you have chosen the type of template, the colors and the pattern if necessary, it is important to make sure that everything you need, link and page buttons, banners and menus are placed in the proper place. There are a number of template options that will allow you to choose the placement of the various parts. Choose these options next in order to complete the layout for your website.

AdSense Referral Programs will be retiring is last week of August. By retiring product referrals, Google is not leaving their share of affiliate marketing business. A new service, Google Affiliate Network is launched as part of Google’s double click Performing Affiliate Network acquisition. You can sign up for Google Affiliate Network here.

You will have to remove codes from your site for sure latest by August end. But if you want to keep records about your referrals earnings for whatever reason, you must go to advance report section of Adsense, create reports and download them to your desktop. As all information regarding referral earning will be wiped out form Adsense database.

PayPerPost + Kontera On Same Blog

Before I joined PayPerPost, I’ve Kontera ads running on my blog. Once my blogs was accepted by PayPerPost, I had to remove Kontera ads since it’s against PayPerPost TOS to have another link running in a sponsored post from PPP. This is because I can’t control Kontera ads from appearing on PPP posts.

Now, by using the Kontera Control plugin, I could prevent Kontera ads from appearing on the PayPerPost posts or any other sponsored posts and at the same time, the Kontera ads will appear any where except on the PayPerPost posts.

I have been using Windows Live Writer to mostly write Blog Posts till now, but I find Word 2007 to be even better in some cases. Word 2007 seems to give you a richer interface. For instance, with one click, you can insert any of the following into your blog post.
* Pictures
* Shapes
* SmartArt Graphics
* WordArt
* Symbols

Formatting your blog post is much more easier in Word 2007, than in Windows Live Writer. I also found that the speed of Live writer to be slower than Word 2007, both to start and work.
However, the availability of many useful plugins make Live Writer a useful piece of software to write blog post, which is missing in Word 2007. Yet another thing is that Live Writer supports Technorati Tagging while it does not seem to be possible for Word 2007.
You have to first open a new document in Word 2007, and select the option of a Blog Post. When opening for the first time, it asks you to add new blog account, where you enter the URL address of your blog and the username / password of your blog. Thereafter you will know for yourself, how to write a blog post with Word 2007.

Firefox 3 : Automatically close download manager

Another great tip for FireFox 3. You can have your FireFox 3 close the download manager after it finishes the downloads. It’s a small tweak in firefox 3 and it goes like this :

1- Write about:config in your address bar.

2- Search for “browser.download.manager.closeWhenDone”.

3- Change it’s value by double clicking it from false to true.

It’s done. Now, whenever you have a download in firefox 3, the Download Manager will automatically close when the download(s) finishes.

Airtel GPRS For Free

TeaShark, a mobile browser like Opera Mini, let you access Airtel GPRS for FREE. It has nothing to do with modifying any Airtel setting. I tested it personally throughout the week but I haven’t been charged a single paisa.

1. Download TeaShark browser. Its free and being JAR file it can be installed on most handsets.
2. Open it from your mobile and select AirTel Live as access point.
3. Thats it! Open any site from TeaShark and you won’t be charged anything.

Note : For the first time, when TeaShark starts, it may take more than one minute to initialize. Also this one time initialization may fail many times. I wrote about free Airtel GPRS two years back. This is much different that earlier trick. As of now, this trick is limited to handsets only. The earlier one used to work even from PC.

Recover Corrupted Documents

Yesterday, while I was writing a report in MS Word, the electricity got interrupted and the file I was working on, got corrupted. When the power resumed and I started back, I was not able to access that file as it was corrupted due to sudden failure of power.

This was a new thing to me, because in my earlier PC, whenever such a thing happened, I was able to recover my corrupt file, thanks to the Auto recovery feature of MS Word. I was intrigued, why it has not happened this time.

On further exploration, I found that the auto recover feature, which is set to ON by default, was OFF in my machine. So, I decided to write a post on this so that the readers of this blog may not find themselves in a situation like me.

How to set the auto recover feature in Word:

* Go to Tools menu, click Options.
* Click on the Save tab.
* Check the “Save auto recover info every” check box.
* Set the time to 5 minutes (or any time period as per your liking)
* Click on OK, and you are through.
* Auto recovery in MS Word
* But remember, Auto recovery function is not a replacement of Save function. For that you have to use the usual procedure, or Ctrl+S.

There are many webmasters, who disable the right click options on their pages. The purpose of this is to restrict the visitors to copy the material, and do not allow them to use it elsewhere. Nice thinking. Even I am fed up of this thing hehe.

But there are methods to out smart this technique.

Although I don’t encourage copying and pasting on the Internet, but sometimes it is genuinely necessary to copy text or images from a web page to use it elsewhere. Firefox.

* Go to Tools > Options.
* Click on the Content tab.
* Click the Advanced button against the Enable JavaScript Check Box.
* Find the Disable or replace context menus check box in the next window Uncheck this box.
