HTC wildfire S launched in India at Rs.14,700

HTC has launched Wildfire S smartphone in India. The Android-powered smartphone is priced at Rs 14,700.

The smartphone runs on Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread and features a 3.2-inch HVGA display and 5-megapixel autofocus camera. It is powered by a 600 Mhz processor and it is 12.4 mm thick. HTC Wildfire S is one of HTC's smallest phones ever – measuring just 10.13cm long and 5.94cm wide.

The smartphone has a 5-megapixel camera with auto focus, expandable microSD memory and support for a variety of audio and video formats.

It also features the new HTC Sense user interface. With HTC Locations, a new differentiated online mapping experience, users have instant, on-demand mapping without download delays or incurring mobile roaming charges.

Sony's New PSP GO

The newly announced Sony's PSP Go is a lighter, sleeker and cool looking version of it's portable game playing console. Unlike other PSPs (starting at $169) and portable rivals such as the Nintendo DS, which play both downloadable titles and disc-based games -- the $249 WiFi and Bluetooth-ready PSP Go plays only downloaded games, movies and music. "It allows people to get their content exclusively off of the PlayStation Network. People are very comfortable getting content digitally", Says Peter Dille, senior vice president of marketing and the PlayStation Network for Sony Computer Entertainment America. PSP Go weighs around 6 ounces, the PSP Go is 40% lighter and 50% smaller than the original PSP. It contains a 16GB internal memory which can be expanded with memory stick/micro cards for additional storage. Users can download games wirelessly or via PC or the PlayStation 3, then transferred using a USB cable. I will be providing the tech spec's in the next post about this product.

A Mouse based on final fantasy Gunblade

By looking at the Mouse it seems Designer Andrey Chirkov is a big fan of Final Fantasy. His design concept takes a cue from the Final fantasy Gunblade. But to me as the gunblade looks tough and menacing enough, this Mouse would snap apart with a little force of a fat guy's finger playing a combat game.

Microsoft's Pressure-Sensitive Keyboard : A Whole new way of typing

The pressure-sensitive keyboard Microsoft has cooking up promises to make your typing far more efficient,but it still is a prototype.

For example by using the keyboard we can change the font size by applying a variable pressure on the key and typing errors could be reduced by gauging the pressure applied to simultaneously pressed keys in order to determine intent. A varied pressure on the key would be making gaming experience much more interesting.

Microsoft will be showing off the technology at the User Interface Software and Technology conference taking place in Canada this October.At the conference, students will be given a sample keyboard and asked to compete with one another in an effort to find applications for the technology that are useful, well implemented or creative.

In the ad there's a little girl who can barely spell words correctly telling about 7 as a Smooth and convenient to work with OS and also comments from CNET can be seen on the slide show she's playing. Her name is Kylie as i read in a review, she's so cute people will be glued when they see her but still back music is little ridiculous. So as Kylie says: "I'm a PC and more happy is coming." lets see what people think of it.

Apple introduces its new iPod nano with camera

Apple introduced its new apple Ipod nano with a built in camera and for that extra edge a polished aluminum finish and some new trendy range of colors to choose from. The new ipod contains a camera that is a H.264 VGA video, 640 by 480 pixels, up to 30 frames per second with AAC audio.
The ipod nano comes with a capacity of 8GB and upto 16GB with a flash card holds up to 2,000 or 4,000 songs in 128-Kbps AAC format. It comes with a 2.2-inch (diagonal) TFT display which looks preety fine to me with a 240-by-376-pixel resolution at 204 pixels per inch. All in all it looks a nice package but a VGA camera doesnt fullfill the requirement which is long awaited with a iPod.

Nokia has launched its mail service known as OVI mail. Now question arises that what is OVI ? so Ovi by Nokia is the global brand for Nokia's internet services. OVI.com is a web component of OVI by Nokia on which you can manage your files, music, videos and pics from a single location.

So all in all the interface looks nice and smooth for the high bandwidth version it doesn't seems to work very well in low bandwidth. Interface is simple and looks friendly not too many things are put up in there so looks to me a nice package. Go check it out yourself.

Nokia has just announced the launch of it's new series of phones "The X Series" along with the new N-97 mini series. Nokia are launching two phones in this series these would be the X6 and X3. The features with which these phones would be loaded were not made clear but we can assume that these are the new avatars for the N-Series by looking at these phones we can say there are not many things which would entitle them as revolutionary but feature packed. These are planned to be launched in Q4 of 2009.
Now, talking about the features the device (X6) comes with a 5 MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash with a 32GB memory support and is a touch screen having a 3.2 inch display with a quite thin body that is 14mm thick. For the music lovers there's a Spore DJ Mix Tour and Asphalt4 preloaded.The x6 will be priced at around the 460 Euro (around Rs.32500).

Now talking about the X3 we have a 2nd to X6 with a slider design. It consists of a 3.2 MP camera with 2.2 inch screen, Stereo speakers, dedicated music keys and support for up to 16GB of storage via microSD cards.The X3 will be available starting Q4 2009 and will be priced at around the 115 Euro (Rs. 8,000 app.) .

An Alaska based company called as gscreen introduced a dual screen laptop formerly called as SPACEBOOK. The PC is estimated to cost enthusiasts around $3,000 but not without concerns regarding the weight of the Spacebook and the pressure on the batteries to meet the energy demands of running two screens.Gordon Stewart, the founder of gscreen told the website that the product would be available around December 09 through amazon. "We designed this knowing that many may not need the extra screen at all times," Gordon told a website. Spacebook is thought to be the first of its kind with twin screens of equal size.

Microsoft slowly moving towards the release of windows 7

Microsoft isn't giving the exact date when they are going to release Windows 7 but they are just hoping that nothing much has changed between the beta version and the retail version they are going to put up. Subscribers to Microsoft's MSDN and TechNet developer programs will have access to the release candidate version starting Thursday, while the general public will have to wait until may 5. That said, users may not notice a huge difference between the two versions at first glance. "We're not adding a ton of things," said Corporate Vice President Mike Nash in an interview. "Most of the changes are fit-and-finish things."
The company didn't say how many people it hopes will try out the version, which is expected to be the last public test version before Microsoft declares Windows 7 soup. Nash did say he is hoping plenty of IT professionals use the product at work and home and also that any lingering partners make sure they have tested their products.
Among the changes from the beta release are a more final version of Internet Explorer 8 and the expansion of a media-sharing feature to allow unprotected videos and music to be accessed remotely over the Internet.
In addition to the RC itself, Microsoft is also making available a beta version of XP Mode, an add-on to Windows 7 that uses virtualization to run programs that run in XP but not in Windows Vista. Windows 7 is widely expected to be released in time for this year's holiday shopping season--a goal that one top executive said recently is "accomplishable" although Microsoft has stopped short of guaranteeing that.

Google users hit by mail blackout

Google has apologised for the outage that hit business and consumer users of its popular e-mail service.

The GMail service went offline at 0930 GMT and, Google claims, was unavailable to all for "approximately two and a half hours".

But anecdotal evidence suggests it was out of action for many users for about four hours - one of the longest downtimes ever suffered by Google.

More than 113 million people use Google mail worldwide, according to comScore.

In a statement posted on its official Google blog it said: "We're really sorry about this, and we did do everything to restore access as soon as we could.".

It said its engineers were still investigating the "root cause" of the problem.

"We know how important GMail is to our users so we take this very seriously," it added.

It said that those getting back into their e-mail may have to fill in a captcha form that asks people to decipher and re-type some scrambled letters before getting access to messages.

According to comScore, Google has the world's third most popular web mail service behind Hotmail with 283 million users and Yahoo with 274 million e-mail users.

Professional suite

More than a million business around the world use Google's professional suite of applications, including e-mail. Google itself relies on the service and press spokespeople for the firm were unable to e-mail journalists with statements regarding the problem.

Professional users are covered by a service level agreement that promises to be 99.9% operational in any calendar month.

The "premier edition" of the Apps service costs $50 (£34) per user for a year.

According to Google, its e-mail service suffered an average of 10 to 15 minutes of downtime per month in 2008.

The last outage of note was in August 2008 when users were unable to use Google Mail for "a couple of hours".

After the incident Todd Jackson, product manager for Google Mail, said in a blog post: "We're conducting a full review of what went wrong and moving quickly to update our internal systems and procedures accordingly."

On its support page for Google Mail, the firm said "A number of users have had difficulty accessing GMail today.

"The majority are now able to access their e-mail accounts again and we're hoping to have service restored for the remainder very soon."

Well, the lack of a physical qwerty keyboard is one thing, the other is that this is one of the first devices from RIM primarily marketed at non-business users. Windows 7 : the Next Vista ?

The next big version, the one that was supposed to fix everything that was wrong with Vista, is here (at least in pre-beta form), and I can now say -- with some confidence -- that Microsoft has once again dropped the ball.
Just as slow as Vista. In fact, Windows 7's performance is virtually identical to that of Vista SP1 on the same hardware. If you were unhappy with Vista's CPU-hogging, memory-sucking ways, Windows 7 will provide little relief. And don't start with the whole "it's still in beta" crap. This is NO beta – at least not at a kernel-mode level.
Just as consumer-focused as Vista. Home Groups. Media Sharing. Federated Search. All very cool. All very slick. And all very much irrelevant to the enterprise desktop customer (though the Search stuff might be useful in certain scenarios).
Just as confusing as Vista. Microsoft has once again moved stuff around in the UI. After baffling its loyal users by completely upending the XP UI, Microsoft has decided that it wasn't satisfied with the end result.
Overal Evaluation:
looks pretty needs work people need more time to tinker with it, and well if it is Vista with a name change I will advice not buy it.

What is a computer virus?

A computer virus is a small software program that spreads from one computer to another computer and that interferes with computer operation. A computer virus may corrupt or delete data on a computer, use an e-mail program to spread the virus to other computers, or even delete everything on the hard disk.

Computer viruses are most easily spread by attachments in e-mail messages or by instant messaging messages. Therefore, you must never open an e-mail attachment unless you know who sent the message or unless you are expecting the e-mail attachment. Computer viruses can be disguised as attachments of funny images, greeting cards, or audio and video files. Computer viruses also spread by using downloads on the Internet. Computer viruses can be hidden in pirated software or in other files or programs that you may download.

Symptoms of a computer virus

If you suspect or confirm that your computer is infected with a computer virus, obtain the current antivirus software. The following are some primary indicators that a computer may be infected:

• The computer runs slower than usual.
• The computer stops responding, or it locks up frequently.
• The computer crashes, and then it restarts every few minutes.
• The computer restarts on its own. Additionally, the computer does not run as usual.
• Applications on the computer do not work correctly.
• Disks or disk drives are inaccessible.
• You cannot print items correctly.
• You see unusual error messages.
• You see distorted menus and dialog boxes.
• There is a double extension on an attachment that you recently opened, such as a .jpg, .vbs, .gif, or .exe. extension.
• An antivirus program is disabled for no reason. Additionally, the antivirus program cannot be restarted.
• An antivirus program cannot be installed on the computer, or the antivirus program will not run.
• New icons appear on the desktop that you did not put there, or the icons are not associated with any recently installed programs.
• Strange sounds or music plays from the speakers unexpectedly.

Note: These are common signs of infection. However, these signs may also be caused by hardware or software problems that have nothing to do with a computer virus. Unless you run the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool, and then you install industry-standard, up-to-date antivirus software on your computer, you cannot be certain whether a computer is infected with a computer virus or not.

Symptoms of worms and trojan horse viruses in e-mail messages

When a computer virus infects e-mail messages or infects other files on a computer, you may notice the following symptoms:

• The infected file may make copies of itself. This behavior may use up all the free space on the hard disk
• A copy of the infected file may be sent to all the addresses in an e-mail address list.
• The computer virus may reformat the hard disk. This behavior will delete files and programs.
• The computer virus may install hidden programs, such as pirated software. This pirated software may then be distributed and sold from the computer.
• The computer virus may reduce security. This could enable intruders to remotely access the computer or the network.

A computer virus infection may cause the following problems:

• Windows does not start even though you have not made any system changes or even though you have not installed or removed any programs.
• There is frequent modem activity. If you have an external Modem, you may notice the lights blinking frequently when the modem is not being used. You may be unknowingly supplying pirated software.
• Windows does not start because certain important system files are missing. Additionally, you receive an error message that lists the missing files.
• The computer sometimes starts as expected. However, at other times, the computer stops responding before the desktop icons and the taskbar appear.
• The computer runs very slowly. Additionally, the computer takes longer than expected to start.
• You receive out-of-memory error messages even though the computer has sufficient RAM
• New programs are installed incorrectly.
• Windows spontaneously restarts unexpectedly.
• Programs that used to run stop responding frequently. Even if you remove and reinstall the programs, the issue continues to occur.
• A disk utility such as Scandisk reports multiple serious disk errors.
• A partition disappears.
• The computer always stops responding when you try to use Microsoft Office products.
• You cannot start Windows Task Manager.
• Antivirus software indicates that a computer virus is present.

How to remove a computer virus

Even for an expert, removing a computer virus can be a difficult task without the help of computer virus removal tools. Some computer viruses and other unwanted software, such as spyware, even reinstall themselves after the viruses have been detected and removed. Fortunately, by updating the computer and by using antivirus tools, you can help permanently remove unwanted software.

To remove a computer virus, follow these steps:

1. Install the latest updates from Microsoft Update on the computer.
2. Update the antivirus software on the computer. Then, perform a thorough scan of the computer by using the antivirus software.
