Possession of walkie-talkie makes you experience the adventure of being a walkie-talkie man acting in Hollywood movie. Walkie-talkies facilitate you to communicate with other people without any restriction of place. You can keep in contact with other people even when you are at home, office or experiencing the adventure of hiking, mountaineering etc.

A good quality walkie-talkie has following features.

Range about 3 miles
Stop watch
CTCSS & VOX
8 to 10 channels
Channel scanner
Auto power off facility
Earpieces
Different call tones
Charging cradle
Some warlike-talkies even have baby monitor

Warlike-talkie handsets are normally available in black and silver shades. Most of the present day walkie-talkies have LCD display. Walkie-talkies with earpieces are preferred more as they offer you freedom of moving around without carrying the handsets.

How does Walkie-Talkie function?

You must be eager to know how does walkie-talkie works? Warlike-talkies function by sending signal (radio waves) to or receiving signal (radio waves) from another walkie-talkie. Frequency is the main factor in the use of walkie-talkie. When the tuned frequency matches people using walkie-talkie can communicate with each other. The communications signals received by the walkie-talkie are converted into radio waves and these radio waves reach the receiver. Once the radio waves reach the receiver, they are again converted into communication signals.

Walkie-talkie provides you the communication faculty without any cost within the coverage area. Some walkie-talkies offer you facility of communicating with more than one person at time. Many walkie-talkie service providers have their own cellular network and also0 share network with other service providers. Such service providers offer you better walkie-talkie service as they have wider range. Following are some of the common features that a quality walkie-talkie offers for you.

Usual phone voice communications
Wireless web and private network data services
E-mail and pager facility
Two-way digital radio

Walkie-Talkie Watches

Walkie-talkie watches are considered to be the smallest walkie-talkies available in the market. These watches not only provide you clock function but also have the feature of providing you private mobile radio (PMR) communication facility. These walkie-talkie watches allow you to communicate in adverse conditions like high altitudes, high winds etc. Like normal walkie-talkies, these watches have range of about 3 miles and are quipped with VOX. Walkie-talkie watches are considered best for adventurous people who undertake activities like skiing, mountaineering, hiking etc. The main feature of these walkie-talkie watches is that they do not require license and mostly you get the free service.

Walkie-Talkie Radios

Walkie-talkie radios are simple electronic devices. For communicating with these radios, you have to set the channel or channels at a particular frequency. Thats all! The operation of walkie-talkie radios is also very simple. You have to just push a button when you are speaking and release the button when you are listening. This service is free of cost and you need not to pay any rental.

Following are the main differences between a walkie-talkie radio and a mobile phone.

Mobile phones require outside network for operation as signals are transmitted indirectly through network. You have to pay for making calls and even rental for using mobile phones.

For using walkie-talkie radio you must remember to push and release the button for speaking and listening.

Kid Walkie-Talkie

Kid walkie-talkies are identical to that of a cell phone. The range in these walkie-talkies is comparatively less (about 200 feet). Sound effects and flashing lights are some of the features of these kid walkie-talkies. These walkie-talkies run on 9-volt batteries. These are not advisable for use by children below age of 4 years.

MS Excel can be customized in a way that suits a user to achieve his goal. It is extensively used in financial organizations. The features of MS Excel are as follows:

Workbooks: A document in MS Excel is called a workbook. Each workbook contains sixteen worksheets by default. A user can change this number by resetting the default options. Worksheets within workbooks make it easy to bind files of related information. When a user opens a workbook, he can use all the worksheets to perform a task. To create a workbook, a user will have to select the New command from the File menu. To open an existing workbook, a user will have to select the Open option from the File menu. A user can insert a worksheet between two worksheets by choosing the Worksheet option from the Insert menu.

Using keyboard: The following table provides different keyboard shortcuts for selecting a row, column, current cell, worksheet, etc.

To Select

Keyboard Shortcuts

Current Cell

Enter

Entire ColumnCTRL+Spacebar

Entire Row

shift+Spacebar

Entire Worksheet

CTRL+SHIFT+Spacebar

A user can perform various kinds of entries in a cell. He can enter text, number, data, and time in a cell. He can also enter some special characters such as $ % + – / ( ). He can also enter date and time in a cell. He can select different formats for date and time according to his own requirements.

Entering Data in Series: A user can fill a range of cells either with the same value or with the series of values. This can be done using the Autofill handle (small square on the bottom-right corner of the active cell).

Cell References: MS Excel provides three types of cell references: relative, absolute, and mixed. Relative references refer to the cell relative to the given position. Absolute references refer to the specific cell irrespective of the position of the formula. The ‘$’ sign is used to denote an absolute reference. Mixed references are a combination of both relative and absolute references. It has one absolute co-ordinate and one relative co-ordinate. $CI and C$1 are both examples of mixed references.

MS Excel allows fast searching and instant replacing of data. To search or replace the data entered by a user, he can use the Find or Replace command from the Edit menu.

Inserting or Deleting Rows and Columns:

MS Excel provides the facility to insert rows or columns into the existing worksheet. Inserting a row of data shifts the rest of the rows down and removes the last row of the worksheet. Similarly, inserting a column shifts the rest of the columns to the right and deletes the rightmost column. This occurs because the total number of rows and columns remain the same in any case.

MS Excel provides several formatting features that enhance the appearance of the data, which is presented in the worksheets. Some of them are described as follows: MS Excel allows setting up a page before printing. To set up a page, a user will have to open the File menu and click on the Page Setup. The Page Setup dialog box will appear that will allow the user to set the paper size, orientation of the data, scaling of the area, set the left, right, bottom, and top margin, set the header and the footer, etc.

MS Excel provides the autofit selection that adjusts the width of the column according to the widest entry in that column. A user can hide or unhide certain rows or columns. He can also provide the default column standard width.

MS Excel allows a user to align the characters in different ways by using the Alignment tab page of the Format Cells dialog box. The dialog box provides a number of alignment options.

Horizontal Alignment options:

General: The text is left aligned and the numbers are right aligned. This is the default status.
Left: Aligns the contents to the left of the cell.
Center: Aligns the cell contents to the center of the cell.
Right: Aligns the contents to the right of the cell.
Fill: Fills the selected cells with the single character.
Justify: This option is selected with multiple lines of text as it wraps the contents from left to right.

Vertical Alignment options:

Top: Aligns the text at the top of the cell.
Center: Places the text in the center of the cell.
Bottom: Aligns the text on the bottom of the cell.
Justify: Wraps the text from top to bottom.

MS Excel provides a facility of viewing the same worksheet simultaneously in more than one window. This is accomplished by selecting the New Window command in the Windows menu. A user can also create more than one window to arrange the workspace to promptly access the information needed. Using MS Excel, a window can be arranged in different ways by using the Arrange command from the Windows menu.

If a user wants to move between different windows, he can do so by pressing Ctrl+F6 to go to the next window or by pressing Ctrl+Shift+F6 to go to the previous window. He can temporarily hide or unhide windows by choosing the Hide command in Window menu to hide the active window or by choosing the Unhide command in the Window menu to unhide the hidden window.

When a user works on a very large worksheet with row and column headings, the row headings scroll off to the left when he moves towards the right. Similarly, when he moves down to see the data, the column headings scroll up. To overcome this problem, he can split the active window into two, with row or column headings in one window and the data on the other window.

Controls: The controls are the special objects, which enhance user interface and facilitate user input. MS Excel provides several custom controls such as list boxes, check boxes, and dialog boxes, etc. A large number of toolbars are found in the View menu. Users can add a toolbar or a number of toolbars into the working document depending upon the work involved and use different controls in their documents.

Functions and formulas: The built-in formulas are called functions. MS Excel provides analyzing data and manipulating text by using different functions. Users can easily calculate percentage, interest, average, etc. by using built-in functions. This can be done either by typing in the function-based formulas or by using function wizards. Formulas are widely used in simple computing (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and advanced computing. They provide the power to analyze data extensively.

Auto-calculation: MS Excel spreadsheet allows a user to automatically recalculate the whole worksheet every time a change is made in a single cell. There are basically two kinds of recalculations.

Automatic: In this type of calculation, the change in the value of the cell automatically recalculates the whole worksheet.

Manual: In this type of calculation, the recalculation of the complete worksheet is performed by pressing the F9 key. This option can be selected on the Calculation tab page of the Options dialog box, which is opened by choosing Options from the Tools menu.

Charts: One of the most important features of MS Excel is a chart. MS Excel allows users to view data entered as tables in a graphical form as charts, which helps a user to easily understand, analyze, and compare data. Excel allows its users to create either two-dimensional charts or three-dimensional charts. A user can enhance the chart by adding chart items, such as data labels, a legend, titles, text, and gridlines. He can also do formatting on these items by using colors, alignment, fonts, and other formatting attributes. MS Excel also allows users to view charts along with the data by using embedded charts. These charts are included in the worksheet and can be copied, moved, and resized in the same way as can be done with any other graphical object.

Database: Data are raw facts, information is processed data, and a database is an organized collection of information. Every organization heavily depends upon databases to store, retrieve, and maintain different kinds of data. MS Excel provides all this in the form of its database feature. In MS Excel, database can be created in two ways:
Enter the data in the form of table in the worksheet.

Use the Data Form command
Records can be inserted, deleted, and sorted by using the Data menu.

With the above-described features of MS Excel, users can perform almost all the operations they want in a very efficient and easy way. Its advanced features have made it the first choice for professionals working in a financial organization to perform their lengthy tasks in an easy way and in a quick manner. Therefore, MS Excel has become the most preferred choice for most of the users as well as professionals throughout the world.

In the case of poor quality toner in a laser printer, the black areas won’t be as dense. However, now that good quality, name brand color laser printers are much more affordable, I think it is time for their reconsideration. Enter the color laser printer, which has a relatively low toner cost and does its best quality printing on inexpensive, plain laser paper. In addition, higher quality rag-content bond papers can also be used effectively with a color laser printer. SMEs need an inexpensive laser printer that achieves quality results quickly. If you’re intent on reproducing photos, you’re better off with a good quality inkjet printer instead of a laser.

Since then, laser printers have decreased further in price and increased in quality. A laser printer is a common type of computer printer that reproduces high quality text and graphics on plain paper. Toner Cartridge Depot presents a convenient way to purchase quality office products, laser printer toners, ink cartridges and printer cartridges at competitive prices. Plus, low-end colour lasers often produce colour output quality that rivals that of much more expensive printers. Quality, resolution, and colorThe standard resolution in most laser printers today is 1200 dots per inch (dpi). – Excellent quality: The text is very clear with no dots visible anywhere – exactly what you would expect from a quality laser printer.

When it comes to quantity and quality, I use a Laser printer and if it happens to be a color laser, so be it. Color laser printers are for people who want the speed and text quality of a black-and-white laser but require color, too. However, only the most expensive color laser printers can match the true photo quality of the best photo ink jets.

While colored toner is available, color laser printers are generally much more expensive. 30% of a new product This product is a recycled version of the used toner cartridge for laser printer. The toner is black in most cartridges, but may be cyan, magenta, and yellow in color laser printers. Inexpensive color laser printers usually ship with a starter set of toner cartridges, which generally hold about a third of a normal cartridge. Last year the answer would have been “go inkjet” because of quirks in laser printer toner technology. Color laser printers add colored toner (typically but not always cyan, yellow, and magenta

see CMYK) in three additional steps or passes. bulk toner will do but must include instructions for my minolta qms 2300 DL laser printer. Click here to save on laser printer toner. Firstly, if I went out and spent this much on a laser printer I wouldn’t expect to be shafted with a ‘starter toner pack’. When it comes to laser printers, the main consumable cost you will encounter is toner cartridge replacement. A slightly modified colour laser printer addresses these toner particles to a solid support. Because an entire page is transmitted to a drum before the toner is applied, laser printers are sometimes called page printers. In a write-black printer the laser positively charges the printed areas to attract the toner, which gives better detail than a write-white printer.

Built on an advanced print engine, this 8ppm monochrome laser printer is productive and easy to use. First, laser printer cartridges are able to print thousands of pages and are usually cheaper per page than inkjet cartridges. Dot-matrix printers can print up to 500 cps, and laser printers range from about 4 to 20 text pages per minute. Because laser printers do not use ink, they have less image smearing problems than inkjet printers and are able to print pages faster. The result is a color laser printer that is ready to print as soon as you connect it. Today a comparable laser printer that boasts more memory, a higher print speed and duplexing capability can be had for about $300.00. The fastest color laser printers can print over 60 pages per minute (3600 pages per hour).

The laser printer does not print in color, but my project didn’t require color. If you print a lot, you too may want to consider adding a laser printer to your computer set-up. So whenever I click on the print icon, the document is automatically sent to the laser printer. Most laser printers print only in monochrome. The application being used must support Postscript in order for the laser printer to print Postscript documents. A laser printer with duplex printing can print on one side of the paper, turn the paper over, and print on the other side.

Ive previously posted an article to farming Arcanist Doan. Well here is an upgraded version using a hunter and a mage. This strategy is much more effective but requires 2 players. You’re both required to be at least level 54 or if youre well geared and think youre an awesome player then probably level 50 should work fine.

To start, enter through Scarlet Monastery library side. The mage needs to enter first and make yourself through the mobs. The mage is good because you can blink around them. You can easily teleport from one side of a mob to another mob with your blink ability. Once you’ve received Arcanist Doan you’ll need to wait for the hunter to get through.

The hunter starts little bit after the mage starts. Once you’ve entered, turn on your aspect of monkey. It will help you dodge enemy strikes oftenly. When you get some mobs on you, just run through and feign death. Thats it, they’re all are cheated and you can wait for cool down and make your way through the guards again until you get to Arcanist Doan. Killing Arcanist Doan should be a piece of cake with two players. Just be sure to avoid detonation when he casts it. As mentioned on the previous guide, flee back before he casts and charge back at him when hes over. One of you should be an enchanter to maximize your profits.

He drops 2 blue items, which disenchants in shard that could be sold for 6 gold pieces each, its about 12 gold per one run. Blizzard created an anti-instance farming system that only allows you to do 5 runs per hour, which is equivalent to 60 gold. Divide that with your friend and youll still get a good 30 gold pieces for yourself. The previous guide listed with the Rogue can get you about 20 gold pieces per hour. This one is 33% more effective.

In the last few CCNP / BSCI tutorials, we’ve looked at using the “area range” and “summary-address” commands to perform OSPF route summarization. Today, we’ll take a look at summarizing routes in EIGRP.

We’ll use the following four loopback addresses in this example:

Loopback 16, 16.16.16.16 /32

Loopback 17, 17.17.17.17 /32

Loopback 18, 18.18.18.18 /32

Loopback 19. 19.19.19.19 /32

On R1, we’ll place these four addresses into EIGRP AS 100.

R1(config-if)#router eigrp 100

R1(config-router)#network 16.16.16.16 0.0.0.0

R1(config-router)#network 17.17.17.17 0.0.0.0

R1(config-router)#network 18.18.18.18 0.0.0.0

R1(config-router)#network 19.19.19.19 0.0.0.0

R3 is an EIGRP neighbor of R1, and that router’s EIGRP routing table now looks like this:

R3#show ip route eigrp

17.0.0.0/32 is subnetted, 1 subnets

D 17.17.17.17 [90/2297856] via 172.12.123.1, 00:00:29, Serial0

16.0.0.0/32 is subnetted, 1 subnets

D 16.16.16.16 [90/2297856] via 172.12.123.1, 00:00:36, Serial0

19.0.0.0/32 is subnetted, 1 subnets

D 19.19.19.19 [90/2297856] via 172.12.123.1, 00:00:08, Serial0

18.0.0.0/32 is subnetted, 1 subnets

D 18.18.18.18 [90/2297856] via 172.12.123.1, 00:00:22, Serial0

To perform manual route summarization, write out the network addresses in binary and then determine the point at which the addresses no longer have a bit in common. For these four addresses, it will be enough to write out the first octet in binary:

16 00010000

17 00010001

18 00010010

19 00010011

Working from left to right, the common bits are the first six bits – 000100xx. In decimal, this value is 16. The summary mask must be determined as well, and that value is derived from putting a “1″ in the mask for each common bit. With the first six bits all set to one – 11111100 – the resulting mask is 252.0.0.0. The full summary address is 16.0.0.0 252.0.0.0.

In EIGRP, the summary address is actually configured on an interface, not under the routing process.

R1(config)#interface serial0

R1(config-if)#ip summary-address eigrp 100 16.0.0.0 252.0.0.0

02:39:50: %DUAL-5-NBRCHANGE: IP-EIGRP 100: Neighbor
172.12.123.3 (Serial0) is down: summary configured

02:39:50: %DUAL-5-NBRCHANGE: IP-EIGRP 100: Neighbor
172.12.123.2 (Serial0) is down: summary configured

02:40:16: %DUAL-5-NBRCHANGE: IP-EIGRP 100: Neighbor
172.12.123.2 (Serial0) is up : new adjacency

02:40:17: %DUAL-5-NBRCHANGE: IP-EIGRP 100: Neighbor
172.12.123.3 (Serial0) is up: new adjacency

There’s an immediate side effect here that most books leave out. Your EIGRP adjacencies are going to come down after you configure this summary, but they should come back up quickly. The key word there is “should”. If you configure EIGRP summary addresses on a production network, you may want to do this during non-peak hours. The timestamps on the above commands indicate that the adjacencies were down for about 27 seconds over the NBMA network. That’s about 30 minutes in end-user time.

Check R3′s EIGRP routing table.

R3#show ip route eigrp

D 16.0.0.0/6 [90/2297856] via 172.12.123.1, 00:01:46, Serial0

The four summarized routes are no longer in the routing table, and they have been replaced by the summary route shown at the bottom of the routing table. Notice the mask is /5, which is prefix notation for 248.0.0.0.

Knowing how and why to summarize routes is a valuable skill, regardless of the protocol in use. But before you take the BSCI exam on your way to the CCNP, make sure you know how to perform summarization with all of the core protocols!

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation is well known for their HDTV rear projection sets. Chances are that you have seen those models that utterly dominate large living rooms, and look similar to big square-like boxes that, if hollowed out, could accommodate a family of rottweilers. Those large monsters, in which the picture quality never looked very good from an angle, will soon be relegated to museums, because rear projectors are getting thinner at a fast clip. Now, Mitsubishi is pioneering a new way to approach the rear projection HDTVthey are using Lasers! With this new idea from Mitsubishi, a RPTV (Rear Projection Television) is transformed because a Laser replaces the usual mercury lamp in the rear of the set. The model is still considered a DLP (Digital Light Projection) but the light comes from red, green and blue Lasers! LASER, which stands for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation is a technology discovered in the late fifties and is already used in CD players and printers. Albert Einstein knew about the amazing things that photons could do when stimulated in the right ways. The pure, coherent light provided by the Laser is expected to nearly double the colors available with todays best LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) High Definition television sets! The picture quality will be enhanced over any existing rear projector. In addition, this new idea will not a require a color wheel because the Laser can be turned off and on quickly enough to provide for changes in color for the display.

Mitsubishi expects these new Laser sets to be just over 25 centimeters deep (around 10 inches). Therefore, they will be able to compete in slimness of design with some plasma and LCD models. It may be around two years before this technology is available to the consumer, but it will make quite a splash when it hits the market. The President of Mitsubishi said recently, We want to release the product on the market in two years by creating a mass-production line capable of being run on a commercial basis. The staggering fact is that Laser technology is fully capable of producing a better picture than either Plasma or LCD. Of course, improvements in those technologies should not be underestimated, but the race is on. Just like during the Internet bubble, there are a number of competing technologies, and it is too early to discern whether DLP will beat LCD, or Laser will reign over Plasma. Stay tuned to see the outcomes, for there is no known oracle that will spoil the ending for us and it is getting more interesting all the time. While some consumer goods such as CD players and laser printers have made use of the laser, this would be the first commercial production of Laser light powering a HDTV display.

Rows and rows of software on sale are available in any computer store today. Although they are tempting, buying software off the shelves holds a few problems of its own. Commercial software can be incompatible, outdated as well as expensive compared with what is available online. Although it is not new and it is one of the most overlooked opportunities in the computer industry, there is another option to commercial software. This alternative is the use of shareware, software you can try before you buy.

Shareware has been around for years and its competition with commercial software is intense. Still it seems to be untouched by many new computer users, advantages over commercial software notwithstanding. Shareware represents a very interesting concept indeed.

Shareware is more economical compared to most commercial software. However, keep in mind that economical does not mean low quality, there are many examples that prove shareware will often outperform the quality of commercial software.

Shareware offers the opportunity to try before you buy; thereby giving you the opportunity to find out if the software is indeed compatible with your computer system before making a purchase. Keep in mind that the commercial software policy leaves no allowance for its return and you cannot take them on loan to find out if you can use them and actually like using them.

Another advantage of shareware over commercial software is that it is legitimate while offering you the ability to test the latest version of a shareware program.

Shareware is available all over the Internet. Shareware is bountiful in download libraries and many companies and independent programmers offer shareware from their own websites. Simply entering keywords related to your program of interest into a search engine will see you receive many results of Shareware available to you.

You should also keep in mind that you may not experience a full program as you would if you bought the software out of a box. Shareware may or may not be limited, which means that some of its functionality may not be available to you until you have paid for the program. These limitations are normally small and do not interfere with the core operation. Actually, they are devised in such a way as to encourage purchasing of the software. Shareware is not freeware and you should not expect it to work indefinately. At some stage you will have to pay to enjoy the functionality that the sofware offers.

The only similarity between shareware and commercial software is that they can both be paid for with a credit card. With a credit card, you can soon be the owner of a Shareware program that exactly fulfill your needs.

Facilities form the non-core services of a corporation or any organization. Non-core services can include managing administration function, property management, and managing contract services such as cleaning and security. A major portion of the assets of an organization is in the form of infrastructure, like buildings and equipment. Hence, the maintenance of physical assets is a major function of facilities management.

The role of facilities management is to help businesses concentrate in their core competent areas. Facilities management takes on the role of providing routine, non-value-added services which are essential and important for the effective running of an organization.

Facilities management in its widest sense can be applied to any industries. The industries range from public services such as schools, universities and parks, to private services such as manufacturing. Anything that can be outsourced to a third party can be termed as facilities.

Since most of functions of facilities are routine, the role and capacity of IT is precisely suited for that function. IT provides end-to-end solutions for an enterprise. ERP and EAM systems take on the role of MRP systems to streamline operations and help reduce costs.

Physical assets such as buildings, equipment and IT installations require regular maintenance; therefore, the role of IT in providing maintenance solutions is a major part of the portfolio of ERP providers. Maintenance is a major function of facilities. According to a study, properly planned and maintained services can lead to a 20 percent reduction in the operating cost of a firm.

The level and scope of functionality varies in the maintenance management system, according to the type of industries and physical assets. Therefore, except for standard functions like maintenance audits and down-time calculators, most of the software functionalities should be customized.

These are many software vendors available, each of whom has an internet presence. The futuristic vision of maintenance management systems is already implemented by some vendors who provide on-demand remote maintenance services, thereby reducing the costs of installing of maintenance systems further.

Travel laptops require more consideration on top of the usual factors involved in buying a laptop, such as performance, price and warranty. Getting a system that is light is critical. With widescreen models becoming more popular, whilst great for viewing, it just adds weight to the system. If you are not into watching movies or complex graphics, a smaller screen should be fine.

While the price of laptops compared to desktops has shrunk recently, you will still pay slightly more for a laptop. With laptops reasonably difficult to expand or upgrade, its a good idea to add more memory or get a bigger hard drive at the time of purchase. Your system should have at least two USB 2.0 ports, as this will be the main way of connecting to external devices.

If you are a frequent traveler and want to use your laptop while flying, there are some other design issues you might want to consider. Widescreen laptops can be a hassle if you are in the coach section, as there is hardly enough room to open the machine. A system with external controls for volume and Wi-Fi can also be good, to avoid annoying other passengers or interfering with the aircrafts navigational system. For really long flights, a second battery is probably the most cost effective way of keeping your system powered up.

As laptops are more likely to be damaged or stolen while on the road, it is a good idea to have a backup plan. Do a regular backup so if something bad does happen, you dont lose too much data. The easiest way to do this is to buy a laptop with a built in DVD burner. One DVD disc should be more than enough to store your work data. You could also use a CD burner, but you would probably need to carry multiple discs. If you only have a small amount of files you need to backup, a USB flash drive would also do the job.

Laptops that are on the road regularly are more likely to break down. So invest in a good quality carry case to limit any potential damage in transit, and always keep your backups up to date.

Most warranties these days are only twelve months, so if there is an extended warranty available, it may be worth taking up if you are constantly on the road.

Casual games are the games that are designed for an average gamer or computer user, they feature a very short learning curve, have very basic rules and do not require much strategy, anybody should be able to enjoy casual games within minutes of launch.

Since the first days of Windows operating system top casual games were Solitaire, Minesweeper and Tetris like games which regardless of their simplicity cost worldwide economy millions of dollars in office productivity due to their addicting nature.

Today there are several major casual game developers such as Big Fish Games, Relexive, iWin, RealArcade and few other publishers who deserve most credit for great success of the casual games. Not only do they output several new and revolutionary games daily, keeping all the casual and hardcore gamers playing all the addicting games non stop, they also do a great job as far as promotion of the games is concerned.

Casual game developers are creating very high quality games which they offer trial versions for, with either time limit, level limit or some other feature limitations of the game. Those trial versions are usually enough to have the gamer hooked and either keep playing the limited version or purchase the full version of the casual game.

Another way casual game developers promote the games, is by having those same casual games available in flash or shockwave on online gaming site and then allow gamers to download the own “offline” version of the game.

Regardless of simplicity and the basic nature of casual games, they are really taking off and becoming a larger share of gaming industry daily, who knows maybe thanks to all the new casual games we will finally let the basic Windows Solitaire go.
