Today you need to remember many passwords.
You need a password for the Windows network logon, your e-mail account, your homepage's ftp password, online passwords (like CodeProject member account), etc. etc. etc.
The list is endless.
Also, you should use different passwords for each account.
Because if you use only one password everywhere and someone gets this password you have a problem... A serious problem.
The thief would have access to your e-mail account, homepage, etc. Unimaginable.
KeePass is a free/open-source password manager or safe which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way.
You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key-disk.
So you only have to remember one single master password or insert the key-disk to unlock the whole database.
The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish).

Google Translation Buttons

Google offers a list of bookmarklets that you can drag to your browser's links bar and that allows you to translate the current page from a language to another language. "While surfing the web, if you find a piece of text you'd like to translate, select the text with your mouse and click the browser button. If you want to translate a whole web page, simply click the button."

Outlook: How to Recall a Sent Message

Have you ever clicked send on a message and then remembered that you forgot to attach that important file, or realized you put the wrong time down for a meeting? Outlook allows you the option of recalling a sent message. Here's how:

1. Go to the Sent Items folder.

2. Find the message you want recalled and double-click it.

3. Go to the Actions menu and select Recall This Message.

4. To recall the message: Select Delete unread copies of this message.

(Note: the recipient needs to have Outlook opened for the message to be deleted)
To replace the message: Select Delete unread copies and replace with a new message, click OK, and type your new message.
To be notified about the success of the recall or replacement: Check the Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient check box.

5. Click OK.

How To AutoSummarize a Word Document

1.	Open a Microsoft Word document that you want to summarize.
2.	Choose AutoSummarize from the Tools menu.
3.	When the AutoSummarize dialog box opens, select the type of summary that you want to apply. You can choose to highlight key points, insert an executive summary or abstract at the top of the document, create a new document, or hide everything but the summary.
4.	Click OK to continue. A new document will open and display your summary.

Note: It’s unlikely that Word will create the exact summary that you need. You will need to do some editing of the summary.

Hidden Labels in Gmail

If you enable saving your chat history in Gmail, your conversations from Google Talk are saved as standard emails. To make them stand out from the rest of messages,
Gmail adds two labels: chat and chats. If you want to search your chats, you just have to add label:chat to your query.
If you want to search only your mail, exclude the chats by adding -label:chat. Gmail has many other hidden labels that can make your life easier, so you don't have to use the advanced search:
* label:inbox - search only your Inbox.
It's a good idea to keep your Inbox clean.

* label:star (label:starred) - search only your starred messages. You can use the star button like a bookmarking system. Star only important messages.

* label:draft (or label:drafts) - search only unfinished messages. Drafts could be used for storing notes or emails that must be sent later.

* label:sent (or label:sentmail, label:sent-mail, label:sent mail ) - search only sent mail. It may be useful to restrict your search only to messages you've sent, or only to messages you've received if you add a minus.

* label:all (or label:allmail, label:all-mail, label:all mail ) - search all your mail, including messages from Trash (label:trash) and Spam (label:spam).

* label:read and label:unread. Restrict your search only to read mail or unread mail. For example, to find all your sent messages that have unread replies, you can search for label:unread label:sent.

* label:voicemail (or label:voicemails ) - search only the voicemail received from a Google Talk user.

It's nice that you can combine all these labels with user-defined labels in a query. To show results that have both label A and label B, just search for label:A label:B.

To show results that have one of the labels A and B or both, just search for label:A OR label:B.

Lyrics Plugin

Windows only: the Lyrics Plugin allows you to easily view lyrics in WinAmp or Windows Media Player.

For instance, the Man in Black tends to get mumbley, so instead of wasting time searching for lyrics, I just maximized Windows Media and read the lyrics from song to song. The Lyrics Plugin is a free download, Windows only.

tinySpell

Windows only: Freeware program tinySpell is a cross-application spell checking utility that warns you of misspelled words and suggests replacements when you press the autosuggest hotkey.

this little Windows app is by far my favorite. When you type a word that isn't in tinySpell's dictionary, you'll hear a beep (it defaults to the Windows default beep, but you can change it to whatever you want). Hit the autosuggest hotkey (by default Ctrl-;) and tinySpell will pop up a list of suggestions. The first highlighted entry on the list is generally the spelling you're looking for, so hit Enter and it will automatically replace the word.

I've only been playing with tinySpell for a short time this morning, but it's already on its way to must-have status. Give it a try and let me know what you think about it in the comments.

Deleting duplicates with Append Query

In the above example, only two duplicate records were found. But what if the Customers database consisted of thousands of records, and after running the Find Duplicates Query wizard, the results showed hundreds of duplicate records? Manually deleting all those duplicates from the query results table would be highly impractical. Instead, you can use Append Query to have Access delete them automatically.

First, create a copy of the structure of the table that contains the duplicates. Click on the table name Customers in the Database Window, and then click the Copy button in the toolbar. Next, click the Paste button, which will display the Paste Table As dialog box shown in Figure H. Enter a name for the copy of the table structure, as shown. Under options, select Structure Only. Click OK to create the blank Customers Without Duplicates table.

Open the Customers Without Duplicates table in Design View and change its primary key to Street Address, as shown in Figure I. Making the Street Address field the primary key field will prevent Access from copying records to the new table that have duplicate street addresses.

We are now ready to create an Append Query against the original table. Create a query in design view for Customers. Drag the asterisk (*) to the query design grid to include all fields from the original table. Then select Append Query from the query-type drop-down list, as shown in Figure J.

In the Append dialog box, select the blank database Customers Without Duplicates, as shown in Figure K.

Click the Run button. In the dialog box that asks whether you wish to append the records to the new file, click Yes. A dialog box similar to the one shown in Figure L will appear, indicating that some records could not be copied because there were duplicate values in the primary key field, in this case, the Street Address fields. Click Yes.

The query results table will have only one record for each street address. When you are satisfied that the Customers Without Duplicates table is correct, you may delete the original table.

Easy enough tweak to usually find out about it on your own, but still, some of use still don't find it right away. So here it is:
1: Start > Right Click on My Computer and select properties.
2: Click on the "Advanced" tab
3: See the "Performance" section? Click "Settings"
4: Disable the following:

Fade or slide menus into view
Fade or slide ToolTips into view
Fade out menu items after clicking
Show Shadows under menus
Slide open combo boxes
Slide taskbar buttons
Use a background image for each folder type
Use common tasks in folders

There, now Windows will still look nice and perform faster.
