Sony presents micro sized high-performance speakers, measuring 43 x 43mm in front panel size at the company’s exhibition in Tokyo.

The tiny speakers are being designed and developed to complement the home theater sound system comprising of four tiny speakers and a super woofer. The speaker is expected to hit the Tokyo market on 20 October.

BarCamp (Barcamp.org) enables online and onsite networking of folks who want to become entrepreneurs.The first barcamp was held in 2005 in California, wherein around 200 attendees got together in a week. The contribution to manage the event came from all the participants. One of them, gives space, the other gives projector, a third gives stationery ... and so on

The Basic concept is that all interested folks get together online on the website . Anyone who takes an initiative to become the overall coordinator of the Barcamp takes an initiative and makes a post online on the Barcamp site. thereafter the interested guys, submit their willingness and also commit any resources for organising the same. This has been a great sucess in India and some of the big business leaders do take out time and attend this conference whenever it is organised in India. I do not know about other countries

Geotagging, Geocoding and Geopegging

Are you coming across these words for the first time?? All related to inserting geographical information into different types of digital content on the internet using maps such as yahoo maps,google maps and google earth applications.

Geotagging: A process to insert tags related to geographic information such as latitude,longitude and altitude into various types of files These tags are plain XML metadata tags which are inserted in HTML files,RSS feeds,photos and images.This feature of tagging is already available in Flickr website (under the organiser option). A very handy tool to pin all your photos using a map(yahoo map).These photos can be shared over the yahoo maps for everyones viewing or it can be restricted for your use. Please take a look at this video on how to geotag on flickr. Flickr only allows you to geotag and link with Yahoo Maps but for those of you who are interested in tagging your photos using google earth , you may visit Geobloogers,trippermap and GMif websites.

Geocoding : This is a similar process but includes additional tags such as postal address , location name etc in addition to the latitute ,longitute and altitude

Geopegging : This is method to insert geotags into the jpeg /other photo files using software apis and similar techniques. An interesting article on geopegging by Joshua Trupin,editor of the MSDN magazine in Apr 2007 edition. Here he talks of geotagging using a piece of software (geopegger 1.0)which he has developed.a very interesting article for those who wants to know, how this information is tagged to the photo graphs

Control your computer using Eyes (Gaze Eye)

Today I came across an interesting topic during a discussion with one of my colleague. He was mentioning a technology called Gaze Eye ( I actually mistook it for Gays Eyes) which is about to be launched into the commercial markets very soon.The technology enables you to control the mouse on your computer with the help of your eye ball movements. It also enables you to even type the text .Amazing right !!!! Iam just waiting for this day .The discussion was quite interesting and he was also mentioning that many big boys are fighting to get this technology for commercial production in the US market. After I came back , i was really keen to know about this technology and started a search on "Gays eyes" ( seriously) :-). Finally came across some articles and then homed onto the right key words "Gaze eyes" . The research into this field had started around 17 years back with a objective to enable handicaps to operate computers and other electronic devices. Many universities and institutions are involved into this research since then. There are many different technologies using this concept."EyePoint" is one them developed by a Computer science doctoral student Manu Kumar (Indian) at Stanford University under the guidance of his Professor Terry Winograd.Checkout this video

Tracing back an email graphically

Did you ever trace an email?? Or you must have been suspicious about the sender but may not have traced it to the originator.

In this article I will demonstrate online investigation skills...This is commonly used also by the computer forensic guys. However i will only explain very basic steps of tracing back an email. This article assumes the following

(1) That the email has not been sent using a open proxy servers which are hosted world wide unofficially to cover up the traces of the originator
(2) Your own e-mail server is accidentally or intentionally in an open relay mode which does not authenticate the senders details

These two methods generally cover up the senders traced ip address and its very difficult to trace back unless the admins of those proxy servers are logging all the NATTED ips in their servers. This is a very unusal situation as it is very difficult to find these bad guys operating their servers in countries where the IT Acts/Law is not yet mature.

There are many ways to trace back an email by analyzing its headers. There is already an online tool "Email Tracker Pro" .Other than this there are many other useful tools for tracking but iam not covering in the scope. Step wise explanantion

You should know about the Email headers present in your email which is generally hidden. I will not explain you in detail as there is already an online tutorial to teach you about the email headers of the various mail applications like Yahoo,Hotmail,Gmail,Outlook etc.

After locating you email headers, paste it into the box provided and click start

3. It takes a minute for the java applet to process the mail headers and pin point you with the information about the network from which the mail originated. You can contact this network administrator with your abuse complaint as he is legally responsible for such issues.

3.There is a third option which provides HTTP Analysis.This is useful for those who are hosting their own website.It gives you statistics about HTTP headers ,DNS information etc

4. Finally it provides links of useful online tools for amateur bloggers,users who really are interested in monitoring their site statistics like Page Ranking, Page Speed,Broken links,HTML evaluator,Script analysis,down times etc.These are really powerful tools when used.

Personally I rate this software 9/10 out of the existing such freeware available online. And do give it a try
