The sold-out Google I/O Developers Conference 2013 has started yesterday, May 15, at Moscone West in San Francisco. Let's take a quick review at some of the key announcements / highlights made by Google at yesterday's event.

Google+ -- Google has updated Google+ design with a new multi-columnn format that include up to 3 columns for posts and pictures. It also automatically add related hashtags for its users. Related G+ announcements includes a new Google+ Hangouts platform and mobile apps, and auto enhance and highlights photo-editing tools for G+.
Google Play Music All Access -- A fee-based Google music subscription service that'll costs $9.99 a month in the U.S. Google offer a free 30-day trial for the service. If you sign up before June 30th, you'll get $2.00 off the monthly fee.
Redesigned Google Maps -- The new Google Maps draws you a tailored map for every search and click you make. The entire map is now interactive. Clicking anywhere will focus the map on that location and show you helpful things like related places and the best ways to get there. From outer space down to the streets, the new Google Maps gathers all the imagery of a location into one spot, making it easy to explore your world from every angle. You can now compare multiple modes of transportation right on the map to find the best way there and the best way home. As you search the map, it starts to adapt and can suggest things. Google says the more you use Google Maps, the more helpful it becomes.
Samsung Galaxy S4 That Runs Stock Android Jelly Bean OS -- A Galaxy S4 with 16GB storage that'll run on stock Android that is fully unlocked and with LTE support for T-Mobile and AT&T will be available on Google Play Store starting on June 26 for $649.
Google Play Game Services -- The platform has added real-time multiplayer, leaderboards, cloud saves and achievements for Google Play game developers and players. These services, except real-time multiplayer, will work cross-platform between Android, iOS and the Web.
Google Play for Education -- Google introduced Google Play for Education for educators and their students. Its storefront organizes content by education type, and age, for example. Colleges and universities can make use of the service to recommend books, apps and other content to their students. General access to the service won't be available until sometime later this fall.
Android Studio -- Google announced Android Studio, an integrated development environment for building Android apps that works on the WYSIWYG platform for creating applications.
Google TV -- would update to latest versions of Android and Chrome. Google says to expect faster updates in the coming months. From that point, updates would take weeks rather than months, according to Google.
Checkout button -- Google announced a new Checkout button for Android phone. It enables one-click purchases by one simple tap to your Android phone, then confirm the payment info via Google Wallet.
Google Wallet Payments via Gmail attachment -- Google Wallet will soon roll out a new payments feature, letting users attach money within Gmail just like an image or a document.
Google Now -- Has added reminder cards for upcoming TV shows, albums and books based on what Google thinks you'll like. It also added real-time public transport informations.
Google Cloud Messaging -- Has become a part of the Google Play Services. It has three new features including "persistent connections", upstream messaging and synced notifications accross devices. It also integrates with all versions of Chrome and Chrome OS.
Google Voice Search -- Google's Voice Search would soon integrate on the desktop computers through Chrome. Just say "okay, Google" and ask your question and you'll get a response similar to what you'd get from your mobile phone. And the best part? No typing is required from the users.
Google Play Store -- Has included a dedicated section in the charts for the top tablet-native releases. Google is also bringing its Play Store mobile redesign to the web.

The new Nokia Lumia 925 is supposedly the newest flagship phone from Nokia, but in my opinion, the specs of this device is not as good compared to other new smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S4, or the HTC One. But don't get me wrong here. I remain convinced the Lumia 925 is still a decent handset that's worth considering, though it may not be for everyone's tastes. Enjoy!

Nokia is set to introduce tomorrow the company's newest lineup for its Lumia series, and one of them is supposedly the new Lumia 925, a Nokia smartphone that's rumored to feature a light, all-metal body construction. A photo image of this phone shown above has been leaked today by evleaks on Twitter.

The upcoming Nokia Lumia 925 smartphone is rumored to sport specs that'll include a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, Near-Field Communications (NFC) and wireless charging. This Nokia handset codenamed "Catwalk" is supposedly going to boasts a 41-MP camera that's capable to perform superbly even in low-light conditions. Rumors suggests this mobile phone will run on the latest Windows OS platform.

Sony has announced its newest smartphone named Sony Xperia ZR, a phone that you can submerged in 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minutes! Let's take a quick review at the key specs and features of this handset, shall we?

The new Sony Xperia ZR has some decent specs that includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 2GB RAM, and 4G LTE. It appears like Samsung is "cookin" their first new hybrid camera-phone combo called Galaxy S4 Zoom. Let's take a quick review at the rumored specs of this purported Samsung device, shall we?

Rumor has it the new Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom will sport feature that includes Android Jelly Bean OS, an 8GB of storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD), a 4.3-inch qHD AMOLED display, a 16MP camera, and Touch Wiz Nature UX interface. It may become available in both black and white colors.

New Samsung Galaxy Note III To Feature A 5.9" Screen, Plastic OLED Display

Samsung is, without a doubt, already working on their new phablet Samsung Galaxy Note III. But the real question to many Samsung fans is this: What are the possible specs and features of this device? Come let's take a quick look.

According to rumors, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note III may pack some very nifty specs including Android OS (v4.2 or v4.3), an Exynos 5 Octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, a Mali 450 8-core GPU and Touch Wiz Nature UX 2.0.

Apple's WWDC 2013 Tickets Already Sold Out In Record Time, But Wait!

Tickets for Apple's 2013 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) has already sold out in less than 3 minutes after it went officially on sale at 10 a.m. PDT today. That's a new record time for Apple selling out their WWDC tickets!

Meanwhile, don't fret if you're not able to buy ticket/s for WWDC 2013 event (the ticket cost $1,600 a piece), because there's an alternative event that you can attend called AltWWDC, an open alternative to Apple's WWDC just a block away from San Francisco's Moscone West and for free! The event will be located at 845 Market St, San Francisco, CA. Attendees of AltWWDC don't have to have a ticket from the real WWDC to attend their event. However, registration comes on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information, you can view the organizer's full press release announcement on their website.

Also, to those who didn't get a ticket at this year's WWDC, you can just simply watch Apple's live feeds in your computers, tablets and smartphones. Further, it didn't take long for someone to post a for sale WWDC ticket on eBay with a starting bid of $10,000. Unbelievable. Let me warn you though, that according to Apple's WWDC guidelines, "tickets may not be sold, resold, bartered, auctioned, or transferred in any way." On the flipside, Apple may possibly give an exception to this rule for people that works for the same exact company.

If you're a student developer, you may also get a pass to attend the Apple WWDC 2013 event, if you happen to get lucky and be among the 150 student developers that Apple would choose to qualify and participate in the company's student scholarship application. I had a chance to report in this humble site yesterday about the specific requirements a student developer should be able to meet and comply, in order to be eligible to attend this year's WWDC event.

Apple announced today that the company's 2013 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will kick-off in June 10 through June 14 at San Francisco's Moscone West and the tickets will go on sale tomorrow, April 25, 2013, starting at 10 a.m. PDT.

Apple has laid out different activities at the WWDC 2013 event. According to Apple, here's what's in-store for the attendees at this year's WWDC gathering:

More than 100 technical sessions presented by Apple engineers on a wide range of topics for developing, deploying and integrating the latest iOS and OS X technologies;
More than 1,000 Apple engineers supporting over 100 hands-on labs and events to provide developers with code-level assistance, insight into optical development techniques and guidance on how they can make the most of iOS and OS X technologies in their apps;
The latest innovations, features and capabilities of iOS and OS X, and how to enhance an app's functionality, performance, quality and design;
The opportunity to connect with thousands of fellow iOS and OS X developers from around the world;
Engaging and inspirational lunchtime sessions with leading minds and influencers from the worlds of technology, science and entertainment, and
Apple Design Awards which recognize iPhone, iPad and Mac apps that demonstrate technical excellence, innovation and outstanding design.

Apple also boasts to have designed the Macs, which according to them, are the best personal computers in the world, along with OS X, iLife, iWork and professional software. Moreover, Apple says they have reinvented the mobile phone with its revolutionary iPhone and App Store, and is defining the future of mobile media and computing devices with iPad. New Nokia Lumia 928 Flagship Smartphone To Be Released In May 2013

Nokia's next-flagship smartphone, the new Nokia Lumia 928, maybe due for release next month on Verizon Wireless if the new Bloomberg report is to be believed. Let's take a quick review at the rumored specs and features of this alleged possible successor to Nokia Lumia 920, shall we?

Rumors has it that Nokia Lumia 928 will run on Windows Phone 8 Operating System, a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Other rumored specs includes a 4.5-inch 1280 x 768 OLED display, an 8.7-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and PureView technology, a non-removable 2000 mAh battery, a Xenon flash, a light metal body, a 4G LTE connectivity, plus a wireless charging feature.

The purported Nokia Lumia 928 is rumored to come in 2 different body colors: a black and a white (as pictured above). It's rumored to support simultaneous voice and Long Term Evolution (SVLTE). This alleged Lumia 928 model is also rumored to feature a squared look with a slightly curved back, is 8.4 mm thick, and is said to be lighter than its current predecessor, the Nokia Lumia 920.

There's buzz that this smartphone is scheduled to be unveiled on May 15, with the release of the handset coming sometime in late June of this year. A leaked photo image of this phone was posted by evleaks above. Granting it's true, would this phone reap the same success that's currently enjoyed by the Lumia 920? Twitter Launches New Twitter #Music App For iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch

Twitter has launched their new Twitter #Music app for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Let's take a quick review what the Twitter music service is all about, shall we? Twitter and music go great together, according to a statement made by Twitter, the most popular and the biggest microblogging site in the world.

Twitter #music is a new service to find music based on Twitter, meaning it uses Twitter activity, including Tweets and engagement, to detect and surface the most popular tracks and emerging artists. Users can go check the profiles of their favorite music artists and follow and listen to their songs. For example, if a user is interested in the songs that have been tweeted by the artists and people he or she follows on Twitter, that person can navigate to #NowPlaying to view and listen to those songs.

The songs on Twitter #music currently come from Rdio, Spotify or iTunes. By default, users of the service will hear previews from iTunes when exploring music in the app. Subscribers from Spotify and Rdio can log in to their accounts to enjoy full tracks that are available in those respective catalogs. As previously stated, you can go navigate to #NowPlaying to view and listen to songs tweeted by the artists or people you follow on Twitter. Users can also tweet songs right from the app.

Users of this service can try the Twitter #music app in action by tapping the avatar of their favorire artists or bands to see their top song. You can then hit the play button to begin listening, or press play on the player to listen to all the artists. Users can share songs to their followers by simply tapping the spinning disc in the lower left corner which will open up the player. You can tweet from there using the Tweet icon in the top right corner.

New HTC One Smartphone Officially Launches Today In The U.S.

The new HTC One flagship smartphone from HTC has officially launched today in the United States. This handset was first unveiled by HTC back in Barcelona at the 2013 Mobile World Congress (MWC).

I've reported about the HTC One phone in March of this year, and for the sake of redundancy, I don't intend to write again my previous review of the specs and features of this very nice phone, which in my opinion, also happens to be one of the best Android smartphones that consumers can buy with confidence.

Today, I am going to focus more where to buy the HTC One in the United States. Currently, T-Mobile sells this phone for $99.99 down plus $20 per month for 24 months. AT&T currently sell it for $199.99 with a 2-year contract. Meanwhile, Sprint also currently sells it for $99.99 if you switch to Sprint from another carrier, or you can buy it from them for $199.99 with a 2-year contract.

As I've just said, the HTC One is one of the best-looking and also one of top smartphones out there right now in terms of reliability and performance. Its 4.7-inch size is not too big nor too small for your hand. Its body design look very sleek and professional, not to mention that it also runs the latest Android OS.

Google Introduces Google+ Comments System To Blogger

Google Affiliate Network To Close Down In Year 2013 Says Google

The Google Affiliate Network is closing down soon, according to J.J. Hirschle, head of Google's Affiliate Network via his blog. Google plan to disable publisher relationships from advertiser programs starting in July 31 this year, though certain functionality of the network such as retrieving reports, reconciling orders, and processing payments through October 31, 2013, will still be available.

Google recommends to affiliate publishers of the network that they can still continue to earn revenue by integrating the company's Adsense network in their marketing campaigns. For marketers, Google also suggested other CPA-oriented solutions including Product Listing Ads (PLAs), remarketing and Conversion Optimizer to drive sales and conversions. Google says these products/services are growing rapidly and the company is continuing to invest heavily in them.

Microsoft May Already Be Developing A Touch-Enabled Smart Wristwatch

There are rumors swirling around that software giant Microsoft may now be in the process of developing a touch-enabled smart wristwatch that'll compete with Samsung's smart wristwatch and some of the other purported smartwatch coming from Apple, Google and LG Electronics.

The new rumors suggests that Microsoft's upcoming smart wristwatch would have a 1.5-inch display and has smartphone-like capabilities such as sending and receiving text, taking photos and weather alerts. Other possible features of the purported Microsoft smart wristwatch may also include voice-activated commands, GPS navigation, FM radio, as well as body temperature scanner.

Of course Microsoft isn't really a newbie or a newcomer when it comes to making a smart watch, as the company had already ventured into this kind of stuff a decade ago using their Smart Personal Objects Technology (SPOT). The technology was utilized by watch companies' Fossil, Suunto and Tissot starting in the year 2004, but its integration has "cooled" off in the year 2008.

If the rumors about this alleged Microsoft smart wristwatch were to become true, then it is just a matter of time until we could finally see and feel a true, pure "Windows" smartwatch hugging our wrists. The real question is, would this watch prove to be a lucky charm for Microsoft next-time around? We'll see.
