Royal Enfield, a Chennai based auto firm, recently introduced two new bikes in India. These bikes are christened Royal Enfield Bullet Classic 500cc and Roayl Enfield Bullet Classic 350cc and priced at Rs 124,000 and Rs 98,086 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The price tag of the two bikes are very near to recently discontinued Royal Enfield models that are- Royal Enfield Bullet Machismo 500 and Royal Enfield Bullet Machismo 350.

The higher end model of the Classic brand is Royal Enfield Bullet Classic 500cc. This model is a blend of post world war II era's Classic and latest technology. Overall, the looks is borrowed from old Classic that rule over the roads in 1951. The newly launched Classic model is equipped with Electronic fuel injection system, Roll over Sensor, disc brakes, gas charged shockers and malfunction indicator.

Hyosung GT250R bike launch in India

So far, there were no competition for Kawasaki Ninja 250 R in India. But if new reports are believed, Hyosung, Korean manufacturer, to introduce its Hyosung GT250 R in India. The motorcycle is sure to give stiff competition to Bajaj's new offering, Kawasaki Ninja 250R it is expected to introduce it with a similar kind of price tag. It might be priced around Rs 2.25 lakh to Rs 3 lakh. Earlier, Kinetic group launched Comet GT250 R in 2005 with a price tag of 1.8 lakh.

The new Hyosung GT 250 R will be powered by a oil cooled DHOC, 4 valve, 90° V-twin with a displacement of 250cc. The smart power mill is supposed to belt out 27 Hp at 10500 rpm and the peak torque is 16.73 lb/ft at 8000 rpm. It sports five gear system.

The Hyosung GT250R boasts vacuum fluorescent display as in luxury motorcycles. The bike has two stage headlamps. The general feature of United States made motorcycles, twin carburettor mikuni BDS26, is being used in the bike. It comes with largest tyres that is of 110/70-17 54H (front) and 150/70-17 60H (rear).

Honda Aviator 110 introduced

Honda two wheelers today introduced its new product Honda Aviator that is powered by 110cc engine. The company launched it in two variants- Honda Aviator 110cc and Honda Aviator Deluxe. This is the second scooter launch by Honda in the year. The company unveiled new Honda Activa a few months back in India. New Honda Aviator is loaded with the same mill that is present in Activa. The new gearless scooter is equipped with 110cc powertrain and belts out 8 bhp of peak power at 7500 rpm and churns a maximum torque of 9 Nm at 5500 rpm. The same combi brakes system and key shutter system are borrowed from the Activa to New Aviator. Honda Aviator is priced at Rs. 42160/- and Honda Aviator Deluxe's price tag is Rs 47,000 in Delhi. The new Aviator is priced Rs 6,000 higher than the Honda Activa but proves its worth.

The scooter will be available in five shades- Monsoon Gray Metallic, Rebel Red Metallic, Pearl Heron Blue, Orange Metallic and pearl Black.
Honda launched a new version of Aviator due to recent launches by Mahindra- Mahindra Duro and Mahindra Rodeo. The scooter is available in five stunning hues viz., Pearl Igneour Black, Berry Purple, Monsoon Gray, Space Silver and Rebel Red. Honda Aviator is already there with front disc brakes. On the other hand, Royal Enfield is expected to roll out its Royal Enfield Bullet Classic in the first week of November.

Honda two wheelers is going to launch a new Honda Aviator very soon! The new Aviator will be loaded with 110cc engine housing more power. Earlier, the company has launched Honda Activa with upgraded engine and some extra features. In the same way, the Aviator will have 110cc mill and combi brakes. The new Honda Aviator is expected to be introduced in two variants- Honda Aviator and Honda Aviator Deluxe. Tata Motors gave new birth to its existing child, Tata Indigo, and christened it as Tata Manza. The luxury car, Tata Manza , has everything to woo the Indian customers. It has the all desirable features which declares a car luxurious. So, our team was very excited to have the fresh experience of Tata Manza. As we reached the showroom, Roshan Motors-Jaipur, there were lot of customers enquiring for the new launch. Some feeling it by touching and a few just getting technical and other details.

The car is sure to fill the space vacated by Tata Indigo as Tata Motors is going to phase out the model. Only a few variants will be seen in market as a token.

It is very clear by a birds eye view of the car that the new avatar is larger than the phasing out model. The dimension of the car is-length-4413 mm, width-1703 mm and height is 1550 mm. The maximum fuel tank capacity of Tata Indigo, Manza is 44 litres.

The quaorjet diesel engine with a displacement of 1248cc churns a maximum power of 90 Ps at 4,000 rpm and develops a maximum torque of 200 Nm at 1750-3000 rpm. On the other hand, 1368cc petrol Safire engine generates same 90 Ps at 6,000 rpm while it develops 116 Nm at 4750 rpm.

Our team got an appointment with the Chevrolet Cruze showroom,Triumph Motors, at Jaipur and very excited to drive it on busy city roads. At the given time we reached at the dealer showroom and the story begins like that....

The appearance of the luxury product is awesome and reflect the GM's DNA. In fact, the name Cruze proves its worth in real way. This is obvious with its exterior and interior looks. After gazing the overall appearance, I got into the car and steering was at my hand. The seating posture is just same as Honda Civic or a real sports car. The company equipped the car with adjustable steering. You can fix it on manual mode, tilt and telescoping mode. Apart form this, driver seat is adjustable for different sized people. As a result, driver can adjust legroom and headroom with these advanced features.

The luxury sedan sports push button start, the car can be started with just a push of a button and stop it by pressing it again. Three spoke steering wheel is thicker in design which enhances grip and feel while driving. The stereo system is capable of playing 6 CDs and auxiliary power outlet on armrest. The car is built on global delta platform that turns into a perfect luxury car. For emergency exit, boot opens through a lever on the inside of the boot that prevents occupants from being trapped inside.

The Chevrolet Cruze is a perfect machine which is powered by next generation VCDi diesel engine. The power mill develops 150Ps of peak power and 327 Nm of torque.

The seating is comfortable for the driver the systems that is described earlier works well. The sound of the engine do not give an impression of a diesel engine. In fact, it seems that we are driving a petrol engine car. The gear shifting is butter smooth and pick-up is awesome. Pick-up is impressive in any gear even the third gear is enough after a slight braking. The sedan is dam smooth in curves and runs like a sports vehicle.

The riding experience is just like driving coupe car. Braking system is sensitive and halt the four wheeler immediately with the help of four wheel disc brake. Jerks and jolts would not trouble you as the suspension works in a fine way to avoid feel of shaking. The car is equipped with McPherson strut type front fork and rear one is U-shaped suspension with torsion beam gas charged shock absorbers ensure a smooth and comfortable ride on any terrain. The car comes with numerous storage compartments, which are functional and convenient for storing objects like sunglasses, bottles and CDs.

New Tata Manza by Tata Motors

Tata Motors, the leading auto manufacturer of the country, has launched its much awaited and ambitious Tata Manza in Mumbai. This launch is the new model of Tata Indigo. Tata Motors Chairman Ratan Tata unveiled the festival gift for the customers. The entry-level sedan

has been launched in four variants- Aura (ABS), Aqua, Aura and Aura plus. The base petrol version is priced between Rs 4.8 lakh and the high end diesel version has a price tag of Rs 6.75 lakh. It comes in seven stunning shades.

Tata Motors officials informed the reporters at the launch that existing variants of Tata Indigo, Tata Indigo Marina, Tata Indigo XL and Tata Indigo CS, would be sold side by side. Tata Indigo, launched in December 2002, has seen a great success in the entry-level sedan segment till 2008. Since launch, 275,000 units of the Tata Indigo were sold. Tata Manza is developed on the Tata Indica Vista platform and the company has invested Rs 2,000 crore to make the platform. Company officials denied the idea of developing electric version of the new launch. Tata Manza is available with a 2 years or 75,000 kms, whatever completes first. The sedan is powered by Fiat's 90 hp Quadrajet diesel and saffire petrol engines

. The length, width and wheelbase are- 4.4m, 1.7m and 2,520mm, respectively.

General Motors Chevrolet Cruze in India

General Motors launched its much awaited luxury sedan Chevrolet Cruze in India on 12th October. The car's 2.0 litre petrol engine variant is launched initially. The 1.8 litre petrol engine variant will be launched in the months to come. The prices of the car starts from Rs 10.99 lakh. The high end variant is priced at Rs 12.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Chevrolet Cruze is pitted against Skoda Octavia, Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. As per the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) standards, the car would give a fine fuel economy of 18.3 kmpl.

The company also informed that a mini car would be introduced by the end of the current year. The yet-to-launch small car is christened as Beat and developed on the same platform. This mini car would be having a price tag of Rs 4 lakh. Apart from this, General Motors small car Chevrolet Spark with a 800cc petrol mill would be launched in 2010. According to news reports, over 1100 units of the sedan already booked across the nation.

GM India had also said that it would go ahead with the launch of its long-expected mini car, named and developed on 'Chevrolet Beat' platform by end of this year. The car is expected to be priced around Rs 4 lakh. Besides, GM India has also geared up to introduce its small car Chevrolet Spark with a 800cc petrol engine in 2010.

Ninja 250R in India

Bajaj is all prepared to launch its new offering, Kawasaki Ninja 250 R, in India. The price of this bike will be declared at the time of launch at around 1 pm today. However, the expected price tag may fall between Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. The specifications and other silent features are already there on the company site. This will increase the number of bikes launched in India during the festival season. The two-wheelers which were launched during the festival season are- Yamaha VMAX, Hero Honda Karizma ZMR PGM Fi, Mahindra Rodeo and Mahindra Duro. Apart from this, limited edition of Yamaha Fazer, Yamaha FZS and Yamaha FZ16 were launched in India.

The wait for Bajaj's new product on the festival season seems to be over now. The company recently said that Kawasaki Ninja 250 R will, now, be launched on October 7. This completely built unit is expected to be priced between Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 2 lakh in India. Ninja 250 R will sport a liquid cooled, parallel twin, DHOC power mill with the displacement of 249cc. The entry level sports machine churns a maximum power of 30 bhp at 10500 rpm and a maximum torque of 21Nm at 9500 rpm.

The Ninja 250 R sports 290 mm front hydraulic disc brake (front) and 220 mm petal disc brake at rear. As announced earlier by Bajaj, the Ninja 250 R will be sold through Bajaj showroom located across India. The Kawasaki Ninja 250 R will be available in four different body colours-Lime Green, Passion Red, Candy Plasma Blue and Ebony. The company registered a 14.62 per cent sales growth in the last month. It sold 2,49,133 units of two-wheelers in September as compared to 2,17,365 units in the same month last year.

Bajaj about 71,000 units of Bajaj Discover DTS-Si in September. In addition to this, the company also sold 56,000 units of Bajaj Pulsar. Recently Mahindra two wheelers also launched its two products in market-Mahindra Duro and Mahindra Rodeo.

E Sprint launched by Hero group

The month of September has seen the highest two-wheelers launches in
India. From the starting of the month, two-wheelers launching started
and it continued till the end. The last launch is Hero Electric's E
Sprint. In this month Yamaha VMAX, Hero Honda Karizma ZMR PGM FI, Mahindra Duro, Mahindra Rodeo, limited edition of Yamaha FZ series
bikes and many other two-wheelers were launched. In the electric bike
segment, Hero's E Sprint is clearly a winner. It comes in three
attractive colours like Mystic Silver, Exotic Red and Olive Black.
Apart from the mouth-watering colours, it is fitted with best
technology in the industry.

It includes sensor braking system, front disc brakes, cell phone charger, larger storage box capacity and so on. E-Sprint could go up to 65 km in a single charge with a maximum speed of 45 km per hour. It comes with very much new technology which is Advance Throttle Mechanism (ATM) that ensures better throttle
response. The electric bike with all these features is priced Rs 37,400 (ex-showroom in UP). Bike lovers will see another sports bike, Kawasaki Ninja 250R, in India on October 5.

Kawasaki Ninja 250 R to be launched on Oct 5

Bajaj declared the launch date of much-awaited Kawasaki Ninja 250 R in India. Ninja 250 R will be launched on October 5. This bike will be an entry level sports bike with 250cc displacement. It will be priced between Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. The Kawasaki Ninja 250 R will be available in four different body colours-Lime Green, Passion Red, Candy Plasma Blue and Ebony. The bike sports liquid cooled, parallel twin, DHOC engine with 249cc displacement.

This liquid cooled engine churns maximum power of 30 bhp at 10500 rpm and maximum torque of 21Nm at 9500 rpm. it houses 290 mm front hydraulic disc brake (front) and 220 mm petal disc brake at rear. As announced earlier by Bajaj, the Ninja 250 R will be sold through Bajaj Probiking showroom located across India.

The company is going to launch new Bajaj Pulsar within next three months. It may be noted that Bajaj and TKM has singed an MoU. As a result, both the companies will market this sports bike in India. Bajaj holds 30 per cent share in KTM. On the other hand, Hero Honda has launched its new Karizma ZMR PGM FI recently followed by Yamaha launched its international superbike VMAX.

The largest two-wheeler of country, Hero Honda, rolled out its new bike in India. The new version of Karizma is christened as Karizma ZMR PGM Fi. This bike is powered by a four stroke, oil cooled, fuel injected, OHC engine with a displacement of 225cc. The premium bike develops a maximum power of 17.6bhp, .6 bhp more than its predecessor, at 7000 rpm and a maximum torque of 18.35 Nm at 6000 rpm. It is interesting to know that Bajaj Auto successfully increased the power and torque figures at the very same cc engine in Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-i. And the price is also competitive as against the Karizma ZMR PGM Fi that is priced at Rs 91,000. According to Hero Honda, the Karizma ZMR is compliant with BS-III emission norms.

The new Karizma ZMR, selling will start from the end of the month, will be available in moon yellow, pearl white, sports red, panther black and vibrant blue. This Karizma ZMR is aimed at young customers who loves sporty looking and style. The new added features in new Karizma Fi are- new headlamp and LED tail lamp, oil cooled, all new console, front and rear disc brakes, split rear grab bars and many more. The front turn indicators are also carved in front full fairing. Recently, Yamaha launched VMAX in India and left Suzuki Hayabusa far behind in every respect.

Gradually India becomes hot favourite of world class bike manufactures. A few days ago, Harley Davidson announced to launch its bikes in India. Now, Italian leading bike manufacturer, Ducati Motor Holding, introduced its five bikes in India on Wednesday. The launch includes its Monster series. The launched bikes in India are: Classic 1098, Monster, Hypermotard, 1098R and 848. The Monster S4Rs is the most advanced superbike with a lot of exciting features. The S4Rs is powered by desmodromic Testastretta engine. It has single sided swing arms, twin silencer. This naked bike has Y spoke wheels and the Brembo braking system.

The powerful mill churns a maximum of 130 horsepower at 9,500 rpm while maximum torque is 10.6 kgm at 7,500 rpm. The chassis of the new Monster incorporate five per cent greater torsional rigidity than that of the older Monster. The swing-arm is Ducati's exclusive single sided unit that equips all members of the SR family. The superbike sports the Brembo braking system. A radial master cylinder with a 19 mm piston and separate reservoir, coupled with a pair of radial callipers, with four 34 mm pistons and four separate pads is fitted at the front while the rear braking system is the same that comprises a master cylinder with an 11 mm piston and a fixed calliper with two opposed 32 mm pistons and a 245 mm disc. The diameter of both the discs is 320 mm. The primary down pipes and secondary collectors have increased to 45 mm in diameter (vs. 40 mm of the S4R), and meets strict limits Euro 3 emission norms.

Sales high but production less: car, bike sales in India

Despite a good expected demand during the upcoming festival season in India, car and bike makers are not producing more vehicles than the previous month. BMW India, Mercedes-Benz India, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Hindustan Motors and General Motors are produced less units of vehicles in August than the respective last month. BMW cut the production by 8 per cent while Mercedes-Benz produced 80 per cent less cars last month. On the other hand, Toyota Kirloskar Motor produced 10.67 per cent less units even getting a good response for Fortuner that was launched in the month of September. Hindustan Motors and General Motors cut their production by 2 per cent and 5 per cent respectively.

According to the figures released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on Tuesday, motorcycle sales also followed suit, logging 25.94% increase at 6,11,173 units (4,85,270 units) whereas total two-wheeler sales were up by 25.11% to 7,76,777 units (6,20,883 units). Commercial vehicles grew, for the second month in a row, at 18.48% to 40,624 units (34,289 units).With the continued growth, SIAM is expected to revise its annual forecast for the industry upwards later this month.

New Ford Endeavour coming soon

Nokia to launch N97 Mini in India by October

The wait for younger brother of N97 is expected to be over in just one month’s time as the world’s largest mobile manufacturer, Nokia, announced to launch it, Nokia N97 mini , in India by October. This becomes a tradition to launch a new handset in market near or before the festival season in the country. This new version of N97 is already launched outside the country. Nokia India Managing Director D. Shivakumar confirmed that N97 mini will be available in India by October while the music devices will hit the country by the fourth quarter of FY 2009-10.

The new version will be available here at Rs 31,000. It features a titling 3.2” touch display, fully customizable homescreen and QWERY keyboard. The N97 mini has less in-built memory than its big brother, the selling point of the new version is Lifecasting. The Finnish company has partnered with social networking site, Facebook, and people could update their location and status or Lifecast as called by Nokia, on the website through the device.

The MD also ruled out that Nokia is not doing well in high-end segment. He clarified that Nokia is beating the expectations and has sold millions of high-end mobiles. The company has sold around 2 million units of N97 worldwide since its launch. It may be noted that N97 was launched in the last Nokia World event in June 2009. The company is the leading manufacturer in India whether low-end handsets or high-end. Nokia has launched Nokia 5530 XpressMusic and Sony Ericsson has come up with Sony Ericsson W205.

WiMAX in 90 days!

Wait for the implementation of 20 Mhz spectrum and you will see the difference. After the implementation 150 cities in India would have wireless broadband through WiMAX technology in just 90 days. The 20 MHz spectrum is allotted at the base reserve price of 250 million dollars (Rs.1010 crores) to four operators in each circle. Each operator could serve 15 to 20 million subscribers with good quality service. But much would depend upon early implementation of the proposed auction of the spectrum for the service.

This perspective emerged at the WiMAX India 2009 conference being organized by Bharat Exhibitions here today. “India is ready for broadband experience” said C. S. Rao, chairman of WiMAX Forum India. “Wireless is the key to broadband” he said recalling the projection in the President’s address to Parliament setting 100 million subscriber target for broadband by 2014 and 20 million by 2012. The fact of India having a social demographics of over 600 million young people underlined the need for rapid roll out of broadband in the country, Rao pointed out.

Despite this national vision for broadband penetration, why the ground level progress so slow was, asked several telecom experts participating in the day long discussion. Telecom experts contrasted the huge push in cellular phone subscription to 14 million per month in June with the total users of a mere 6 million in broadband. “Against over 40 per cent penetration of cellphone at 450 million, Internet penetration is just 0.6 per cent” regretted Naresh Ajwani, secretary, Internet Service Providers Association of India. “Roll out the bidding for spectrum. The delay is stopping India from developing” he said.

WiMAX Forum has over 500 members. It sees India as a large market. IIT-Delhi hosts a WiMAX applications laboratory. That technology and equipment for commercial operation of WiMAX was already available, was underlined in the presentation that Motorola India country head for home and networks mobility business, Subhendu Mohanty gave at the conference. He found great [prospects for future broadband penetration in the rising sales of PCs and laptops. Notebook growth has crossed 114 per cent last year. Worldwide 133 million broadband subscribers were expected by 2012 of which 70 per cent would use mobile WiMAX devices. “WiMAX is here, LTE would be available by next year” he revealed. LTE is a high speed wireless on GSM platform for cellphone services, faster than 3G. “WiMAX is a step towards LTE”, he said. As many as 25 applications on WiMAX were already available. Low cost chipsets “critical for India” roll out of WiMAX were being provided by his company. He claimed “total cost advantage’ in using WiMAX for broadband expansion.
