It’s time to say Goodbye

All good things come to an end or move on to something better for more than a year I had been running this blog covering the best of Symbian has to offer , now the time has come to move on .

Two months ago I started an experimental site at

The site became a good success and within two months had one article as Pick of the Week of Nokia Conversations , another article was picked by teabreak.com.pk as a featured article .

I also stumbled upon new avenues from the site and got in touch for Nokia Pakistan to review their products such as 5800 Xpress Music .

I’m also working on new experiments and have ran Win 98 on Nokia E71 .

Nokia is now facing some tough competition from Samsung , another manufacturer of Series 60 phones and now with Mobile World Congress coming next week in Barcelona , Samsung is going to push Nokia to the second place atleast in specs .

Installing PC Suite on Win 7

Many of you must have noticed I was not updating my blog for a while , actually last week I was travelling for business purposes so was not able to write much , and since Wednesday all my computers and Server was dead due to virus attack . anyhow now all is working fine , I’ve got XP back and running on my Office Laptop ( Dell Vostro 1310) and for Win 7 on my kid’s machine ( Compaq A940NR)

As a backup measure I’ve keeping both machines identical on software so if one again breaks , I can immediately shift to the next and that includes installation of Pc Suite .

Nokia is in process to sell 1.75 billion Euro worth of bonds , 1.25 billion Euros having 5 year maturity spread on 250 ( 2.5 % ) basis points and rest 500 million Euro having 10 year maturity spread on 315 ( 3.15 % ) basis points ( a basis point is one hundredth of a percentage ) Citigroup Inc., Deutsche Bank AG, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. organized the issue

I love President Obama , don’t care about his policies or politics but do know he’s one tech savy guy , fighitng for his right to keep a Black Berry among presidents like Bill Clinton who only sent two emails during his tenure and Mr Bush still beating aorund the bush saying he’ll get bck to email after getting off office and hadn’t sent one during his 8 years and Mr Obama said “ "I'm still clinging to my BlackBerry," and “ They're going to pry it out of my hands” ( source CNET )

Hooking up E71 with Car Stereo

I love my music especially of 80’s and 90’s , at home I can listen to it via Nokia Internet Radio but on the move I had to rely on bluetooth headset which causes distraction to I’ve come up with a new setup to hook up my E71 with the Car Sound system with six speakers and one ‘forcefully’ added 1000 Watt Pioneer Sub Woofer , listening to Roxette and ABBA in all their glory .

Mobile phone market is certainly taking a hit with Nokia downgrading their forecast last year to less than 330 million phones to be shipped in last quarter of 2008 bringing their total down to below 1.24 billion handsets for the total 3billiion phone market which may increase to 4 billion as per some optimistic forecast for growing economies of India and China low handset market , the sector in which Nokia is dominant .

How to Use NSS

NSS is a revolutionary software by B-Phreaks UK which helps Nokia DIY like me to change the product code of the phone to meet their requirements .

in my case the rquirements for E71 are I changed the product code to get the correct Kay mapping not press ‘.’ produces ‘?”

For those who don’t know how to use NSS I’ve made a small pictorial guide to assist you but still I resume no warranties , do it at your own risk and it will void the warranty of your phone . On the other hand I’ve done it plenty of times without bricking my phone.
