Problems Caused by Alcohol Addiction

Alcoholism is no doubt one of the most severe problem of our society. We could note that in every ten families there is one member hooked to alcoholic substance. Alcohol abuse is one of the main cause of domestic violence and other crimes, in fact if you read tabloids you can see at least one or two alcohol abuse related violence.

How and when does alcohol substance such as wines and liquors cause crimes and domestic violence? We all know that once an alcoholic beverages is injested through the body system, it changes the mental and physical behavior of the one taking it. For example a very shy and quite type of human being becomes noisy and wild everytime he/she takes liquor, he/she has the capacity to say or do things he/she is not capable of doing when he/she is in the normal state of being without alcohol substance injested in his/her system and that's where the problem starts. There were many reported cases when a father arrives home drunk and not in his normal mental state, due to his too much drunkeness beats his wife and kids or even do worst than that. Another example is a very common incidents in depressed areas, two drinking buddies were already drunked and starts debating, since both of them were drunk their simple debate turns into an arguments causing the two of them to fight and I don't wanna tell what happened next. And I'm sure all of us are familliar about drunk driving cases. When an accidents happens in the road and the police came to investigate, they will discover that the driver is drunk. Don't drink and drive, it's dangerous, once you're drunk you feel very dizzy and it will not be a good idea if you will drive specially if you're driving a motor bike.

Local alcoholic beverages has billings such as "isang tagay sa tagumpay", "sumasarap ang samahan" and many other tag lines that sounds so cool to attracts drinkers to buy their product. But let's revise this tag lines and see if their really that cool. "Isang tagay sa tagumpay" means toast for the success, but because of alcohol abuse one lost his job because he is often absent and late for office because he always has hang over, was that success? "Sumasarap ang samahan" means friendship with drinking buddies is going stronger, but hpw about your relationship with your family, your wife, your kids? You feel so happy everytime you're having goodtime with your drinking buddies, but when you get home you point your attention to your wife and kids and beat them up, what kind of a father are you? Would you compromise your family ties juast because you value your drinking buddies more than your family, wake up!

More than this domestic violence and crimes related to alcohol abuse, drunkeness also causes health problems such as liver cirrhosis, tuberculosis, pancreatitis, heart attack, and mental problems such as deppression and phsychosis. I'm not writing this because I'm against liquor intake, but all I wanna say is take everything into moderation, don't be dpendent on alcoholic substance because abuse of this substance could lead to serious problems in health and in the society. And if you are already an alcohol dependent, have it cured, it is a desease that can be treated in rehabilitation centers. Drunkeness is an addiction, try to stop it while it's not too late. Liquor abuse could cause lost of jobs, families, friends and even lives, take it into moderation or better if you stop it.

My COMELEC Registration Adventure

I have finally registered to COMELEC last Sunday for the coming 2012 national elections, and at the age of 26 this is just my first time to participate in an election. During the past years when I became eligible to vote I disregarded the importance of exercising my rights to choose a leader for our nation, probably because of being a little immature and I seemed not to care about what's happening in our country. But this time I've had enough, I went out and register to save the youth's future. I was awaken and started to think that this is our nation and no one could save this but we the people ourselves.

But going out to register was never easy specially now that the deadline for registration is nearing, a lot of people are rushing to the COMELEC branches in their respective cities and municipalities to beat the deadline.

Being a first timer I was'nt aware about the COMELEC's procedures for registration and I don't have any idea the COMELEC office near the LRT's Central Terminal Station is for the voter's in the city of Manila alone. And besides I saw an article in a tabloid saying and I quote "ang mga nais magparehistro ay magtungo sa COMELEC offce na matatagpuan malapit sa Central Terminal Station ng LRT", that caused th confusion so what I did is I woke up as early as 4 am to reach the COMELEC in Manila at 6 am. But to my shock people were advice to fall in line according to their district and it was then that I found out that applicant voters should register in their designated city/municipalities so I immediately went to the City Hall of Quezon City where I am currently residing. I arrived their at past 8 am and during that time just in photo copying my valid ID as a requirement ang haba na ng pila! and that cost me a lot of time and the funny thing is when it was my turn to have my ID photo copied, the machine malfunctioned luckily the operator had it fixed. Afterwards I proceeded to the first line in the verification where applicants have to submit a photo copy of their ID to get a form. What I did'nt like was the COMELEC announced that registration forms for new voters can be downloade in the internet, so I went to COMELEC's website to download a form but that form which I downloaded was useless because I still had to fall in line to get a new form.

After I recieved my form I sat down in the gutter to fill it out, and then I proceeded to the biometrics section where the applicants image will be captured, but to my regret I should have fall in line while filling out the application form, dahil pagdating ko dun sobrang haba na ng pila, it's like the snake road in the anime "Dragon Ball Z", I had to go through 5 u-turns before I reach the first line. It was already launch time but no problem because food vendors were all over the place, I bought a ham sandwich and pancit palabok and bottled juice for drinks, I did'nt drink too much because the portalet was too far, I don't wanna leave the line although there were generous people whom you could ask to keep an eye on your place while you are in the comport room, mga pwedeng tumistigo na dun ka nga nakapila para hindi ka mapagkamalang sumingit, meron nga dun guy and a woman na nag-away dahil sa pila, dala siguro ng gutom.

Hours past by and I started to fear that I will not reach the first line before the 9:00pm cut off, lalo na when I noticed that the line takes up to 10 to 15 minutes before it moves. It was already 6:30pm when I reach the first line at kahit kaunti nabuhayan ako ng loob, pero my kaba pa rin na baka kung kelan nandun na ako sa bungad saka sabihin na cut-off na, that would be very dissapointing, but I saw a little light of hope when the officiators of the registration noticed that there are still a lot of people so they created another line and they took 50 people to accomodate that line and guess what I was the 50th, it's like basketball buzzer beater. Finally I reached the hot seat, meron kasing mga silya dun papasok na sa image capture at thumb mark, kapag tinawag na ang name mo papasok ka to have your image captured in a computer. When my name was called I was asked to complete the info about my birth place, nilagay ko lang kasi dun Manila, kailangan pala specific kung saan sa Manila, but that's just a little problem, I had it fixed and finish the image capture and thumb marking. I finished at exactly 8:30pm and finally went home.

Wow! what I went though just to register for the 2010 election was no joke, I did'nt know it was like that, I started to think that I should have registered the moment that it started and not during the last minute. But that's fine, If we wanna change this country a little sacrifice is needed, and at the end of that day I felt complete, finally I am a real Filipino and I'm gonna live up to that on May 2010, and who knows, maybe my one vote could change the harsh reality of our nation.

P.S. I would like to personally thank my former teacher in social studies during high school, Mrs. Palma, I already forgot your first name but I'll update this post as soon as I remember. I would like to thank her because I met her in the jeepney on my way home during that night and she paid for my fare, thank you very much Ma'am.

The Newly Formed Backstreet Boys

The newly formed Backstreet Boys have finally entered the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. The group's latest album "This Is Us" debuted #9 at the Top 200 Chart, this is BSB's second release since the departure of Kevin Richardson from the group. But unlike the 90's where the Backstreet Boys were at the peak of superstardom, the group just sold between 50,000 and 60,000 copies in the first week of release. Gone were the days where BSB sells over 1Million albums just in the first week of release.

But the good news is, Backstreet Boys are undergoing a renaissance. From the usual bubblegum pop music that they started, A.J, Brian, Nick, and Howie are stepping in to the world club music. Their first single from "This Is Us" called "Straight Through My Heart" sounds a mix of R&B and disco music courtesy of the critically acclaimed composer Red One. And if you have heard "Bye Bye Love" which is also a cut from the group's latest album, it sounds cool you could feel theclub atmosphere while listening to it. Some critics said that this song will just be compared to 'NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye", but it sounds very different. The composers of "Bye Bye Love" made sure that it will be done in different style.

Eversince the Backstreet Boys confirmed the release of "This Is Us", the group recieved a lot of diss. Critics said that the members of BSB are old, they don't have the charisma on women anymore and that the era of Boybands were gone, and they even recieved more diss when the music video of "Straight Through My heart" was release, because in the video the group brought back their ol school dance moves that made them popular in the 90's, some said that they are too old to go dancing like that. What's wrong with the world? The Backstreet Boys are talented singers and performers. The way they sing and harmonizes sounds very impressive, and in fact no other boybands can harmonize as good as they do. This foursome decided to stay in the music scene to entertain people and not just to charm girls with their good looks and moves. I've been a huge Backstreet Boys fan eversince they started and upto now I'm still hooked to their music and style, although they are not as big as they were before, I will still be a huge fan. As long as they're here to bring great music I would say BSB Forever!!!!!

Turuan at Sisihan sa Naganap na Malawakang Pagbaha sa Luzon

Matapos ang matinding delubyong dulot ng bagyong "Ondoy" at "Pepeng" partikular sa Luzon kabilang na ang Metro Manila, isang pamilyar na senaryo ang nagaganap. Umpisa na naman ng turuan at sisihan ng mga kinauukulan kung sino ang dapat na managot sa nangyaring malawakang pagbaha. Sa kasalukuyan ang malinaw na itinuturong may-sala ay ang mga dam na imbakan ng tubig at ang mga operator nito partikular ang San Roque Dam na ayon sa mga ulat ay nagpawala ng labis-labis na tubig na naging sanhi ng paglubog ng maraming bayan sa Pangasinan.

Ipinatawag na ng mga Senador ang mga operators ng San Roque Dam para imbestigahan ang anila'y kapabayaan na naging sanhi ng pagkawala ng maraming ari-arian at buhay ng ilan. Ayon sa imbestigasyon bilyo-bilyong litro ng tubig, sapat upang palubugin ang lalawigan ng Pangasinan. Depensa naman ng mga dam operators, ginawa lang nila ang instruction sa kanila ng NAPOCOR na siyang namamahala sa operasyon ng San Roque Dam. Maaaring mas malaking pinsala ang idinulot kung bumigay ang dam dahil sa labis na ulan na iipunin nito. Ngunit sa kabila ng mga paliwanag desedido ang Senado na papanagutin ang mga dam operators, anila dapat nag-abiso sa ang mga ito sa local municipality ng Pangasinan at sa mga residente para napaghandaan ang pagpapakawala ng tubig, at idinagdag pa na dapat ang pag-rerelease ng tubig ay ginawa bago pa man manalasa ang bagyong "Pepeng".

Sa loob mismo ng Senado kung saan ginanap ang pagdinig sa insidente, mismong ang Gobernador ng Pangasinan ay naging emosyonal sa paghaharap nila ng Chief Engineer ng San Roque Dam, idiniin ng nauna na hindi nag-abiso ang pamunuan ng nasabing dam ukol sa pagpapawala ng tubig at kung gaamo karami ang pawawalan. Ang kabilang panig naman ay iginiit na nagbigay sila ng babala sa lokal na pamahalaan ng Pangasinan, sa katunayan nga daw ay nagpadala pa sila ng fax na siyang naglalaman ng kanilang babala, ang lokal pamahalaan na lang daw ang nagkulang kaya umabot sa ganoon ang pinsala. Sa ngayon ay patuloy pa ring dinidinig sa Senado ang tungkol sa isyung ito, at desidido ang kinauukulan na makasuhan ang lahat ng mga nagpabaya kung kaya naganap ang malawakang pagbaha.

Sa huli ay nais kong mag-iwan ng katanungan, sino nga ba talaga ang dapat sisihin sa naganap na delubyo? at isa pang tanong ay meron nga bang dapat sisihin? Sa sariling opinyon ko lang, tapos na ang trahedya at sa halip na hanapin kung sino at meron bang dapat managot, bakit hindi na lang humanap ng solusyon para hindi na maulit ang nangyaring delubyo. At hangang sa ngayon marami pa ring bayang lubog sa baha at marami pa ring pamilyang nasalanta na hirap pa rin bumalik sa normal na buhay, bakit hindi yun ang pagbuhusan nila ng panahon at budget at hindi itong hearing nila. Hindi ko isinulat 'to dahil pumapanig ako sa mga Dam operators at hindi rin dahil kritiko ako ng sektor na humahawak sa kasong ito, nais ko lamang ipabatid na ang buong mundo ay hanga sa mga ating mga Pinoy dahil ipinakita natin kung paano tayo nagkakaisa sa oras ng kalamidad, hindi maganda kung sa kabilang banda ay may mga sisihan at turuan kung sino ang dapat managot.

Ang nangyaring pagbaha ay pagpapakita ng Inang Kalikasan kung paano siya magalit, kahit nga yung mga mayayaman na nakatira sa mga subdivision at mansyon walang nagawa sa baha. Ang nangyaring baha ay epekto ng pang-aabuso sa kalikasan, pagtatapon ng basura sa mga daluyan ng tubig, global warming at climate change dahil sa mga usok ng pabrika at sasakyan, pagdedevelop nag mga gubat para tayuan ng malls, golf course at subdivisions, pati ilang mga dagat at ilog ay tinabunan na ng lupa kaya nung bumaha, wala ng mapuntahan ang tubig kundi sa mga kalsada. Kung talagang sinsero ang goyerno na tukuyin at parusahan ang may-sala sa naganap na baha, ipatawag din nila sa Senado yung mga nagtatapon ng basura sa mga ilog, yung mga illegal loggers, mga owners ng pabrika, mga real estate developers, mga mall owners, mga drivers at vehichle owners, lahat ng yun nakaka-contribute sa climate change na naging sanhi ng pagbaha.

At bilang pangwakas, kung sakali bang maparusahan yung mga itinuturong may sala, hindi na ba mauulit yung nangyaring delubyo?

The Flood Caused by Ondoy is Haunting me! Help!!!!

I seemed to be having a trauma because of the havoc caused by typhoon "Ondoy" last September 26. It's been 2 weeks since the flood happened but everytime I close my eyes, I can still see the huge flood that wreaked havoc in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. I've had this fear of heavy rains since I was in kindergarten but the great flood in Metro Manila just made it worst. Everytime I hear the rain pouring specially during nights I cover my ears with a pillow and wrap my entire body with a blanket and starts to pray that the flood won't happen again, that's how this calamities changed my entire life.

And just last Saturday night, I had this strange and scary dream. In my dream I saw a heavy rain pouring once again, the rain is as strong as the one poured by "Ondoy" and moments later the huge flood started to flow like a tsunami. And the scariest part of that dream is when I saw our ceiling falling right on top my head because of the water, I also saw the garbage being carried by the water current. Afterwards the rain stopped and the flood subsided quickly. And at the end of that dream sequence I saw a man in a business atire walking and he uttered a word something like "umalis si ------ na walang service". I did'nt understand the name that he said but it made me wonder who was that he was talking about and what does that man got to do with the floods. Then I woke up and found out that it was raining hard and that's the reason why I have that dream. I check the time on my cellphone and it was past 12 midnight.

Wow! the flood caused by "Ondoy" is haunting me and it's following me even in my sleep. I don't know how long will I stay like this or maybe the horror caused by this typhoon will forever haunt me.

I Survived Typhoon Ondoy!

Typhoon "Ondoy" have already left the country but the damaged it did was terrible. Even I was'nt so fortunate to escape it's wrath. I was'nt online for one week because our house got flooded and so as the Internet Shop where I go everyday to update my blog. At least now, I'm back in blogging and I'm writing to share you my experience with Typhoon Ondoy.

It was work as usual last Saturday when Ondoy drenched the entire Metro Manila with it's heavy rains. Every Saturday me and the company driver strolls different auto supply stores in some part of Quezon City, Caloocan, Manila and Valenzuela to collect paychecks. It was around 10am when the heavy rains started pouring the streets and caused floods. We were still able to reach Valenzuela because there was still no floods during that time but as of 12pm on our way to Letre, the road was not passable anymore due to floods caused by the non-stop raining, that's when we decided to just go back to office and cancell the collection. On our way to the office, we passed by Jose Abad Santos Ave. and the flood was knee deep. When we reached the office, the management declared cancellation of work due to the typhoon, that was around 1:30pm, also at that time I recieved a text message from my younger sister saying that the flood have already reached the 2nd floor of our house so I hurriedly went.

Eventhough I was worried and shocked about the news I recieved I was still not able to go home because of the flood so I stayed for a couple of hours inside Tutuban Centermall but I continued to communicate to my sister through my cellphone and I told her to update me of what's happening to them. Around 3:30pm, my sister texted me again saying that the water is rising quickly and it reached 3rd floor so they evacuated to the 4th floor which is the last place they can go. My sister seemed to be panicking so I went to a fire station to ask for help, they gave me a phone # and asked me the exact location of our house for a posible rescue, but thanks to them no one came into our aide. That's when I decided to find a transportation to take me home and I was fortunate to find a jeepney bound to Blumentritt, but it just stopped at Tayuman Rizal Ave. because Blumentritt is flooded too. In Tayuman I went inside the Espiritu Santo Church and stayed there for an hour and pray for the safety of my family, then I walked from tayuman to Blumentritt eventhough the flood was gutter deep. There I found a tricycle offering a ride worth 30 per person, I ride without second thought just to make it home. The trike stopped at the Chinese General Hospital and in there I took a trike again to reach A. Bonifacio Market for 30 pesos again. And in there a truck offered a rideupto Sto. Domingo, during that time I was in the truck, my sister texted me again and said that the flood is already going down and the rain has stopped, during that time I said thanks to the Lord because He answered my prayers and I got relaxed a bit.

When I got to Sto. Domingo cor Araneta, exactly at Jollibee, a lot of people were stranded, Jollibee eve ran out of food due to the number of people who bought to reserve food in case they stay there for more hours. I saw Araneta cor. Del Monte and I was shocked, the water is like a river, the SaveMore Supermarket got sunked, you can only see the roof, and the Sergio Osmena Sr. High School got sunked upto the 2nd floor and that was the first time that it happened, and in Del Monte, a lot of vehicles got sunked too, according to those who saw what happened, there was a traffic build up around 10am and due to the fast rising flood, the drivers had no option but to abandon their cars and trucks and save themselves.

I spotted my brother and he too was stranded. When the water subsided upto waist deep a lot of people crossed even women in business attire crossed just to get home. It was already 3am when the flood went down to gutter deep and me and my brother finally decided to cross and go home. When we got home everything is a mess, many people from our place were not able to save anything except the clothes they were wearing, according to them the water rised so quickly that they did'nt have any opportunity to save anything, that's when I found my mama and my sister, we tried to find food but nothing is available during that time so they just went home but I did'nt went home with them because it was dark to enter our place, I waited for the sun to rise and just slept with the other people in the street gutter.

Today we are trying to move on, picking up the things that we were able to save and throwing away the things that got sunked into the flood including our tv set that they let being sunked because it was too heavy to be lifted to the 3rd floor. I want to get frustrated because of what happened to us, but I also have to accept that this is how life goes, God is taking away something from you to make you strong, I'm just very thankful to God that we survived the flood, we may have lost some of our valueable but al least we are still alive. I will never forget this experience, I will carry this forever and tell it to my sons and grandsons. For now, it's the time of rebuilding and moving on.

Blog Reformat Complete

At last my blog reformat is complete. From now on Technophilliac is not anymore an Entertainment Blog but just my Personal Blog, although you'll still gonna see some entertainment articles but not much unlike before. Why am I saying that I've just finished the reformat although I started posting blog entries regarding my personal rants? It's because it's just yesterday that I finished editing my blog categories.

From now on all my entries regarding showbiz and entertainment will just fall under the Entertainment Label except the American Idol Label, I decided to retain it so that my favorite show will have it's own space in my blog. International Biz Category ko, nandiyan pa rin tinamad na kasi ako dahil marami-rami rin ang i-eedit ko, And I also think it's better to have a different category for international showbiz news malawak kasi ang sakop ng foreign entertainment scene. The Celebrity Look-alike category is still there also, I have special plans for that Label. The MP3, Sports, Controversies ni-retain ko din. Inalis ko na yung Wrestling Sports din kasi yun eh.

I had a hard time editing the Labels of all my posts, almost one month before I finished it. Right now I'm planning to change my Templates again, I'll just switch back to a Minima Template because I want my blog to look as simple as posible, I've edited it many times thinking that a colorful and 3 column blog is cool, in the end it did not help boosting my traffic and it looked cluttered, now I'm keeping it simple and neat. And one more thing, the Adsense between each post is not working in this template, ayoko na magkalikot sa HTML dahil matrabaho. I'm also planning to use the new blogger "Read More" feature just like in Wordpress, I'm sure all you blogger users out there know that team blogger has just created a support for this feature, and they did it in their 10th birthday, so wala ng hassle mag-edit ng HTML at maghanap pa ng kung anu-anong hack for this feature. I hope team blogger will then support an easier commenting system just like in Wordpress where commentators can reply directly to each comment posted in the blog. I'm counting on you team blogger.

The Long Traffic Build-up at SLEX Experience

Last Friday September 11 2009, we went to Sta Rosa Laguna for a business transaction and as we drive our way back to Manila, we encountered a heavy traffic build-up due to the construction going on at the North Bound lane of the South Luzon Express Way. Also, the rains caused by the Low Pressure Area that became Thypoon "Nando" added more difficulty for motorists to pass through the SLEX upto the Magallanes area.

The heavy traffic build-up started along the Susana Heights exit of SLEX where only two lanes are passable. Upto the toll exit traffic pa rin ang sasalubong sa iyo. After the drivers pay for the toll, it does'nt end their. Vehicles got stuck their for a few minutes dahil barado sa labas ng exit kaya hindi makalabas yung mga sasakyan. I think we stayed there for an excruciating 15 minutes bago kami nakalusot, that was around 4:45 pm. When we reach the Bicutan area, ganun pa din and traffic, halos hindi gumagalaw ang mga sasakyan. The flow vehicles moved a bit faster when we reach Magallanes, but after we that bumper to bumper ulit and traffic, dun na kami inabot ng dilim at about 6:00 pm.

When we reach Osmena Hi-way, heavy rains started to fall and some part of the streets are flooded, plenty of passengers are also stranded, yung iba naglalakad hanggang sa unahan just to find transportation. Punuan naman yung PNR trains dahil sa dami ng pasahero. My back is starting to soar at that time because of long hours of sitting. As we stroll along Recto a lot of students are stranded and some removed their shoes at buong tapang na lumusong sa baha. We got back to the plant at 7:30 pm and take note we left Sta. Rosa at around 2:30, that was five hours. Normally 1 hour and a half upto 2 hours lang ang biyahe from Sta. Rosa to Manila, grabe yung traffic na yun.

This is the problem in Metro Manila, a little bit of rain always causes traffic because of clogged drainage systems that causes flood in some portions of Metro Manila. I'm not new to this thing, everytime there is a storm I always become a victim of heavy traffic. And for the record, in May 26, 2003 where the longest traffic build-pn in the Philippines was recorded, I was a part of that. The build-up starts from Bocaue Bulacan Toll ways upto Balintawak Quezon City. I took a Bus at around 6:00pm and I arrived home at past 9:00pm. Suwerte na ako nun dahil yung iba na nagbiyahe from Cubao to Bocaue sa EDSA na inumaga. Imagine I was a part of an all-time record, yun lang ang magandang naidulot sa akin ng traffic, ang babaw ko ano! Anyways while we were struggling at the traffic build-up last Friday, I have with me my Nokia Camera Phone and I took photos of the traffic build up.

My Very First Post for my Dream Blogging Project

Hi everyone! At last I will have my very first entry for my Dream Blogging Project. It took me too long before I get this thing started because I want to post only the dreams that I believe are the most bizzare and left me with a mind buggling thought as I wake up. Before I start this thing, I just wanna remind you that there are some personalities in this dreams that are part of my past and current life so I'll be using aliases to protect their identity and to protect me too, because they might came accross with this blog as they search the web and I don't want them to get offended for any reasons.

Now to get started, in this dream I was walking my way home in Corumi st. here in Masambong where I reside, as I cross the street I came accross with a gay wearing a Darna costume and when I got into a house along the corner of Corumi st. and Capoas st. I saw people in there preparing some garments which I believe will be used in a Cost Play. And in another house nereby I saw Miss. Elle(not her real name), I got a hidden crush for this girl so I stop to look at her, she is wearing a Filipiniana costume and seemed to be giving instructions to some helpers, they must be preparing for the Cost Play too. And after a few minutes looking at her she turned around and to my surprise she transformed into a woman which in my estimate was in the age of 40, I was shocked so I just went away. Then I finally got into another house, I don't kno why I went in there because I was suppose to go home. I entered in that house with a green gate and I saw my classmates in high school, they seem to be lining up for some sort of a troop formation for Boy Scouts. Two of those former classmates of mine were my batchmate in our school's Senior Scout Unit but one of classmate in the line up was a part of the Corps Officer Training Course so I'm wondering why he is lining up with the Boy Scouts. Then one of my former classmates whom I will call El Dy looks really different, I mean his face does'nt looks like my classmate El Dy but we believe that's him, then afterwards he also transformed back to his real face, strange.

We had some discussions afterwards, kumustahan, tawanan and we're cracking jokes at each other, the supposed to be troop formation was no longer a part of that gathering and just became a reunion. After a few minutes, my other classmates whom I'll just call Ms. D came out and talk to my other clasmate Mr. Z and I believe that they already have some understanding about the future, a wedding perhaps. That dream ended right there because my mom waked me up.

This was not the first time that I had this kind of dream, different situation but same elements, people involved are transforming their faces at a quick glance, my high school classmates are present for some sort of a reunion. And I'll tell you this dream is very detailed and as clear as watching a High Definition TV, it almost seemed that my body have travelled into another dimension and my body can really feel that I'm in that place and I can really hear clearly what people in this dream were saying. The sleep that I had with this dream was so deep and I feel that I could have died if my mom did'nt wake me up, thank GOD I was still able woke up.

Is 2012 The End of the World?

A very bothering question that is yet to be answer: Ist 2012 The End of the World. I first heard about this in 2008 from an AM Radio station. The NASA(National Air and Space Association) in USA confirmed that at the exact cate of December 21, 2012 the earth that we are living in will have a Polar Shift, meaning that the north pole and the south pole will change places as the earth flips in a vertical rotation. This phenomenon coinsides with the ending of an ancient Mayan Calendar in that year of 2012. Mayans are ancient Mesoamerican Civilization that lived millions of years ago.

This Mayan Calendar uses a long-count method that runs for a long period of years, thousands of years actually. To better understand this long-count method of the "Mayan Calendar" I'll give an example: The Roman Calendar that we use starts from January and ends in December, it will then reset back to January for a New Year. In the Mayan Calendar it takes thousands of years to complete a cycle and start another year. I did'nt really research a lot for this so called long count method of this ancient Mayan Calendar since it's so excruciating but according to the datas I gathered this calendar cycle started during the B.C. era and from that period upto 2012 is about 5000+ years I'm not sure though. And according to studies the Mayans were known for for their prophecies about doomsday. Going back to the Polar Shift, many are afraid that the flipting of earth will cause earthquakes, storms, tsunamis and more catastrophic event that they say the end of the world. Imagine the earth rotating from north to south rather that it's usual rotation, who will not freak out on that? But according to research the earths has been having the Polar Shift, some believes that this is the cause of a climate change, since the poles of the earth will shift position, the regions which are equatorial will become temperate. But if the Polar Shift will happened in a fast manner, it is expected to cause some quakes and some doomsday scenario like we see on movies. But taking it to the lighter side, if the world flip, the Philippines could be transferred to a cold region and December 21 is just a few days before Christmas, we could finally experience a White Christmas at least before end of the world hehehe! Joke!

When I heard this news I thought that it is kept secret by NASA to prevent people from panicking that I believe could be a cause of a mass suicide. But my curiosity caused me to do a research on my own and I found out that this issue is widely spread all over the web. In fact Sony Pictures will be releasing a film entitled 2012 which I believe will be out some time in November starring John Cusack. The film is mainly focused on the cataclysm that could happened in the year 2012 and a family's heroic struggle for survival, the film has an official site and here is the direct link 2012. The film also shows an african-american president that portrays Barrack Obama. We normally see in other film about armageddon that one sign that the world will end when a black becomes a president or a balck becomes a Pope, is'nt that some kind of descrimination? associating black leaders as a sign of doomsday? Anyways I saw the movie teaser already and it's thrilling and frightening. The is directed and co-written by Ronal Emmerich, the same person that brought us "Independence Day" and "The Day After Tomorrow". This guy seemes to love doing films about doomsday is'nt he? The Original Soundtrack of 2012 will be sang by American Idol 2009 runner-up Adam Lambert.

But you as an individual, would you believe this strange beliefs from an ancient civilization that lived before Jesus Christ? All I can say is, I still believe in the greatest scripture ever written, The Holy Bible, when JESUS CHRIST came, HE disregarded all other ancient scriptures and prophecies and no other scriptures would beat the power of HIS words. I'm not saying this because I just want to keep mysef calm but because this is my stand about this issue. Let's have faight and let us not be bothered about ancient superstitions that is not a part of a our religion. A scientist said that "do not cancell your appointments after December 21, 2012", his right, after 2012 we'll still see each other and I'm still will be posting a blog enry about "I Survived 2012". And you have to wonder, how accurate is this Mayan Calendar and does this Mayans posseses great powers that some believes in their prophecies? And the long count of this Mayan Calendar is so far the 13th B’ak’tun cycle does it mean that the earth will be doomed for the 13th time? What happened during the first 12 B' ak'tun cycle? Strange.

Dream Blogging

I'm gonna start Dream Blogging in this blog. This activity is not new to me, I used to keep a notebook and a pen under my pillow and everytime I wake write everything I saw in my dreams whether good or bad, including nightmares. This activity is fun and it enhances my memory, so now I'm taking it into a whole new level. Because the world has gone hi-tech, I'm gonna post my dreams as a blog entry para naman ma-share ko din sa iba.

Dreams are often associated as some sort of fortune telling, supertitions says that dreams often tells us about things that may come in the future, some people who believes in reincarnation says that dreams tells us about our past life. That's why nangyayari minsan yung De'Javu, everytime may na-encounter tayong pangyayari na nakita natin sa panaginip, sinasabi natin na "parang nangyari na 'to". But aside from superstious beliefs, we can draw many activities from our dreams. If you are a painter you can use paint what you see in your dreams and transform it into a work of art, if your a writer you can use the situations in your dream to form a script. Even some directors uses their dreams as an idea for a film or a play. If you have seen the music video of Ogie Alcasid's hit "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala", there is a point there where Ogie was surrounded by people wearing black, that was the idea of the videos director Louie Ignacio. Had had this dream where he was surrounded by ladies in black and he used that for the music video's scene.

Watching Robocop 3 Again

I was planning to write about Shaquile O'neal's transfer to Cleveland Cavaliers for my blog entry for this weekend but it just so happened that last night I got tuned in to TV 5's 5Max Movie Featuring Robocop 3, so I have decided to just write I little review about the film. I'm sure you will wonder why I am writing a review of an old film while there are lots of new movies out in the cinema to watch and review, It's simply because I am a Robocop fanatic, this half man-half robot crimefighter was my childhood hero. And another reason is because when this movie was shown I was just a little boy who just enjoyed watching it because of my fascinations to robots and sci-fi films, it was just last night that I understand the story and it's depth as a film and it was amazing.

The special effects of Robocop 3 were'nt as high-tech as what we have in new sci-fi films in this generation but it was still fascinating. The story the film is very simple too, there was this mad man who wants to take over the Corporation called the OCP, which was the inventor of Robocop. That mad man had a agreement with a Japanese Company to clear and evict squatters from a small town for a development project, and in return, the Japanese guy sent a robot of his own to help OCP destroy Robocop. But the squatters resisted and form a rebellion to fight for their homes and Robocop who was programmed to protect the innocent and uphold the law symphatized with them and became the rebel's comrad.

There are lots of incredible scenes in Robocop 3 and here are the few:

1. One of the best conflicts in the film was Robocop's memory recall of his past as Officer Alex Murphy and how he lived happily with his wife and child before the tragedy that lead to his transformation from a human to a robot.

2. Another great scene was when all the police officers took off their badges and walked out of their jobs after the Chief of Police resisted OCP's order to drive the squatters away., the police later joined the rebels to fight against OCP.

3. Robocop came to the aide of the rebels flying with his prototype suite with jet boosters, and wiped out the army of OCP.

4. Robocop escaped form the exploding OCP building with his friend scientist and little girl. This scene was totally remarkable and had me at the edge of my seat.

5. The death of Alex Murphy's long-time partner after being shot by the OCP army, and at her dying moment she asked a promise from Robocop to get revenge for her, and that promise became Alex Murphy's motivation to destroy the real enemies.

6. The evil Japanese guy who wants to evict the squatters bow down to Alex Murphy to show his respect to to give up his plan of driving the people away from their homes.

There are a lot more great scenes in the movie but I just named a few. Robocop 3 is one of the best movie I have ever scene, and I just hope that they do a revival movie and if they do, I'm sure that it will be a lot better because of the new technology we have at this modern age.

The San Miguel Beermen Captures 18th PBA Title

The San Miguel Beermen won the PBA Motolite Fiesta Cup 2009 last Friday in a Game 7 victory over the Ginebra Gin Kings, final score 90-79. This is San Miguel's 18th title in franchice history and 14th in import flavored conference. The Beermen Head Coach Siot Tanquincen also took his 3rd Championship as a coach and 1st in San Miguel team, his first 2 championship was with the Gin Kings during 2005 and 2005.

Before the Game 7 victory, the Beermen were down 3-2 and had to force do or die game in Game where they won 98-84. Defense was the key for the Beermen's victory as they held Gin King's import David Noel limited to just 8 points behind a 3-of-11 field goal shooting and 0-of-5 in the 3 point range. The Gin Kings also gave up the ball 21 times.

Jonas Villanueva became the finals MVP scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Marc Pingris and Danny Ildefonso added 12 and 10 points respectively. On Ginebra's side, season MVP Jayjay Helterbrand lead his team with 25 points while his teammates Ronald Tubid and Eric Menk added 10 and 12 points respectively.

The Ginebra Gin Kings failed to win back-to-back titles in an import flavored conference, so far Red Bull holds the record after winning the PBA Commissioner's Cup twice in a row in 2001-2002.

This Blog is Reformatting

Yes, Technophilliac is reformatting. I've been skeptical about doing this reformat of about a month ago since I have decided to move my entertainment post to Hits Buster. I decided to push through this blog reformat due to some factors. First is my contents, I don't want to limit myself on just posting about entertainment, I want to share my point of views on different things like politics, technology, education, trends, internet, gaming and even my personal experiences.

Second factor is traffic, it's every bloggers necessity. Writing blog entries about showbiz is not helping me gain traffics since competition is stiff in showbiz blogging. There are a lot of entertainment blogs there that are updated almost four times a day and I cannot catch up since I don't have my own PC and I'm just renting in a nearby Internet Cafe in the community. Maybe reformatting this blog could hel me gain more traffic since I could write many other things aside from entertainment news.

Third is the comments in my blog, I don't receive decent ammount of comments in writing showbiz news, masuwerte na kung may is o dalawa, ang pinakamaraming comments nga na natanggap ko was seven, while other great bloggers out there gets a hundred or more, that's frustrating for me. Maybe if I will write other things that concerning more people could earn me a lot of comments, at isa pa I think it's time I get controversial "lupet".

And last and I think the most important factor is my adsense earnings. Kahit sino naman siguro sa blogosphere yun and target, income. I started blogging dahil gusto kong kumita rin dito hoh. It's a time of crisis and many people wants to find alternative ways of earning and I'm proud to admit that I'm one of those.

So I hope this reformat works for me, I've been blogging for almost two years and I look at it as a career already. So sa lahat please do support me, in the coming days expect to read a lot from me. That's a promise.

We Are Moving

Hello peeps! First and foremost, I would like to apologize to my subscribers for not having this blog updated for almost 1 month. Now I'm back to inform all of my readers that I Technophilliac is moving to a new home and my new url is http://hitsbuster.blogspot.com/. This new site is still hosted by blogger and still has the same format as Technophilliac, you still get to read the latest entertainment news. I have moved all of my posts to Hits Buster so you can still find my previous posts in my new blog.

I was skeptical on making this move because this was my first blog and I have been managing this for almost two years. Kahit minsan wala akong visitors at page views nakahiligan ko na rin ang mag-blog tungkol sa mga favorite kong tv shows, artists, performers etc. But I'm not deleting this blog yet, mag-iisip pa ako for a week kung anong gagawin ko dito. Pwede ko siyang i-maintain at i-reformat na lang sa ibang niche, o kaya naman gawin ko itong personal blog, sayang din kasi dahil may traffic pa rin na pumapasok kahit papaano. Kris Allen is the American Idol Season 8 Winner!

Kris Allen is the American Idol Season 8 winner! The American Idol Finale took place yesterday with Kris Allen and Adam Lambert fighting for the title, and their fate was decided by almost 100 million votes.

It was almost imposible for Kris to win the competition or even getting in the finals because he seemed to be the underdog. Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert were always the favorite but Kris Allen managed to pull a huge upset and bring home the victory.

The American Idol Finals was star studded as usual. The Idols were joined by top performers such as The Black Eyed Peas, Rod Stewart, Jason Mraxx, Rod Stewart, Carlos Santana and many more. AI also presented a couple of special awards for Idols who did'nt made it in at least in the Final 12 but managed to draw attention like Tatjana del Toro, Nick Mitchell aka Norman Gentle and Ms. bikini girl Katrina Darrell. American Idol Judge Kara DioGuardi had a showdown with Katrina and to the surprise of everyone revealed herself.

Finally when the winner was announced and thats Kris Allen, he performed the song "No Bounderies" which was the official Idol theme and was co-written by Kara DioGuardi. This song will also be Kris' first single. Congratulations Kris Allen!

Justin Timberlake is Fearless Production's next in Line

After the success of the David Cook and David Archuleta Back to back concert, Fearless Production is planning to bring Justin Timberlake here in Manila for a concert.

Jomari Yllana and his associates are he ones who brought us the two Davids, if they could also bring Justin Timberlake in the Philippines, they have truly gone big time in the concert production scene, Justin Timberlake is a world reknown popstar and he have released major hits and sold multi platinum albums around the world and bringing him here for a concert could mean millions of dollars, but if that concert will be a huge success, Jomari and his partners will have their spending worth it. I'm keeping my fingers cross for this one, hope it happens.

I have a piece of trivia for all of you, Justin Timberlake came here in the Philippines back in 1996, during that time he was still with the boyband N'sync, they performed live in ABS-CBN's defunct noontime show "Isang Linggo Na Po Sila", they sang their first big hit "I Want You Back". I searched all over the internet and even in Youtube for a video footage of that performance but I did'nt found one, maybe the ABS-CBN's website archives has that, I'n not sure though.

Jennylyn Mercado Portrays Jodi in GMA's Stairway to Heaven

After a the success of her afternoon drama "Paano Ba Ang Mangarap" with Mark Herras, Jennylyn Mercado is now eyeing for her return on primetime. And this time she will be teaming up with Dingdong Dantes in GMA's adaptation of the hit Korean Series "Stairway to Heaven".

Jennylyn Mercado was chosen by GMA 7 to portray the role of Jodi who was originaly played by Choi Jee Woo in the original Korean series, and Dingdong Dantes who was earlier being chosen to play Cholo was originally portrayed by Korean heartrob Kwon Sang Woo. This is the first time for Jennylyn and Dingdong to work together as love team, and this is also Jennylyn's first mainstream project in primetime after she gave birth to her baby Alex Jazz.

GMA 7 is cooking a new loveteam in primetime, does Dingdong and Jennylyn have the chemistry to bring "kilig" to televiewers? What do you think?

Sarah Geronimo Collaborates with Mark Herras

Sarah Geronimo and Mark Herras will be working together but not in a movie or teleserye. The two of them will be touring the Philippines for a series of show. Mark Herras was borrowed by VIVA to join Sarah for this mini concert tour.

This is interesting, not only because this two talented young stars were from the rival network, but the fact that Mark Herras was known for being always linked with actresses that he worked with, the likes of Jennylyn Mercado, Marian Rivera, Ryza Cenon, and Rhian Ramos. Will Sarah Geronimo fall for the Starstruck 1 Survivor's charm? we'll find that as things goes in progress.

SRO Cinemaserye Presents: Suspetsa

GMA is launching the second season of SRO Cinemaserye, and it's entitle "Suspetsa". The new season of the telemovie will be top billed by three of the most successfull Starstruck 1 finalists, Jennylyn Mercado, Yasmien Kurdi, and Nadine Samonte. Plus, three of the countries most talented actor will be playing their leadingmen, Paolo Contis, Ryan Eigenmann and the controversial Baron Geisler.

Perhaps you are wondering what a Kapamilya star Baron Geisler is doing on a Kapuso show. Did he transferred to GMA? The answer is "No". GMA 7 just borrowed him from ABS-CBN for this one show, that's what I know. How about Nadine Samonte who was rumored to be transferring to the Kapamilya Network since her contract with Kapuso expired? I guess the answer is also a big "No" because she accepted this project.

"Suspetsa" is under the direction of Mark Reyes, and just by the title itself, you can tell that this mini series is jam packed with lots of acting and drama so Kapuso fans, watch out for it starting May 28 after GMA Telababad.

Danny Gokey goes home. Adam Lambert and Kris Allen are in the Finals!

On the last elimination night before the American Idol Finale, a big twist happened that left everyone shocked. Over 88 million votes came in and made a huge upset, Danny Gokey who has been America's favorite eversince the start of season 8 was eliminated.

Shocking indeed for Danny Gokey, because as far as I can remember he was never been in the bottom group, all four judges agrees that he is the next American Idol and it seemed that everything he does is right from song choices to musical arrangement to being so charismatic he has it all. But tonight, the black clouds were all over his head.

Before announcing the result, AI host Ryan Seacrest called Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen one at a time and showed the their entire Idol journey. And at the end of the night started announcing the result by putting Kris Allen to safety then Adam Lambert, and in that very moment everybody knows that Danny Gokey is the one going home.

So next week is the American Idol Grand Finale, who will be the next American Idol? Is it the Rock god Adam Lambert or the soleful guitarist Kris Allen?

The two Davids arrives in Manila

Cookie (David Cook) and Archie (David Archuleta) arrived yesterday here in Manila, and they're all set for their back to back concert on Saturday, May 16 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Ground. And as expected, fans awaited their arrival at the airport and went gaga to see the two Davids.

American Idol Season 7 Champion David Cook arrived first and the concert producer and actor Jomari Yllana fetched him. David cook just said that he is excited to be here in the Philippines. According to Jomari Yllana Cook was supposed to give a statement but because of security reasons they decided not to. After Cook, his runner up David Archuleta arrived and said that he is excited and happy to be here and mention that he is looking forward to meeting one of the singer that he admires in Asia, that's no less that Regine Velasquez.

The two American Idol winners will be busy during their stay here in Manila, they are scheduled for some tv guestings in Kapuso shows like Sis and Eat Bulaga, and on Friday they will have a live interview and 24 Oras. And finally on Saturday, it's their highly anticipated back to back concert. This is the first time that the two Davids will be on one concert and only Fearless production was able to make it happened.

Dingdong Dantes is Cholo in Stairway to Heaven Pinoy Version

GMA 7 will be making a Pinoy adaptation of the hit Koreanovela "Stairway to Heaven", and the network has just picked the one who will portray the leading man Cholo, it's none other that Kapuso hearthrob Dingdong Dantes. "Stairway to Heaven" is the story of the neverending and unconditional love of Cholo and Jodi, how they went through all odds to be together.

The Kapuso executive gave Dingdong Dantes a surprise presscon to announced that he got the role, and Dingdong was happy about it. Cholo in the original "Stairway to Heaven" was portrayed by Korean actor Kwon Sang Woo who became famous in the Philippines because of the Korean series and was also seen in other koreanovelas in GMA. This one could be another huge project for Dingdong after "Marimar", "Dyesebelle", and "Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang".

GMA has chosen who will play Cholo, and the one to portray Jodi who was originally portrayed by Choi Ji Woo is yet to be revealed. I wonder who will be the lucky girl? And could this new pair match the popularity of the Dingdong Marian love team?

Anne Curtis is Galema: Ang Anak ni Zuma

Anne Curtis was chosen to portray the title role for ABS-CBN's latest fantaserye "Galema: Ang Anak ni Zuma". It was a Komiks novel created by Jim Fernandez and had a movie adaptation which became a blockbuster hit during the 80's and now it's on free tv.

The plot of the story revolves around it's main character Zuma an Aztec god with a two headed snake wrapped around his shoulders, Dino, the son of Zuma which is a half man and half beast, and finally Galema, the kind hearted daugther of Zuma.

Zuma was portrayed by Max Laurel in the movie, and Galema was played by an actress named Jenny Lyn, I don't remember her so much but I thought she was one of the popular teenstar during that time, I'm not so sure. This was the first movie I've seen when I was just 4 years old I think, and I was fascinated by the two headed snake around Zuma's shoulder and it became one of may favorites.

I'm just wondering why ABS-CBN handed this project to Anne Curtis and not to Angel Locsin. I think it will be great to see Angel as Galema goes head to head against Marian Rivera as Darna. Imagine to mythical beings getting it on on primetime tv.

Power of 10 on GMA 7

Kakasa Ka Ba Sa Grade 5's season had wrapped up yesterday, May 9 2009. But we will not miss it's host Janno Gibbs because tonight we will see him in a whole new game show that will give away the biggest price on Philippine game show history, and that's upto a whopping P10,000,000. This is "Power of Ten".

"Power of Ten" is an internationally known game show in the U.S hosted by Drew Carey. It has adaptations accross many countries and now it's finally hitting the Phillipines. The mechanics of the game is simple, it's like "Family Fued" where the contestants needs to predict the percentage result of a poll question. That's how I know about the games mechanics, watch it tonight to to find out how the game is played entirely.

"Power of Ten" begins tonight on GMA 7 after "Kap's Amazing Stories" rreplacing "My Dad is Better Than Your Dad" that just went off season last Sunday.
