Specifications include:

Operating System: Google Android OS

Network: GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) UMTS / HSDPA / HSUPA (2100 MHz)

Display: TFT, 3.2 inches diagonal, with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels (WQVGA)

QWERTY-keyboard

Camera: 3 megapixel CMOS, Auto Focus

Navigation: GPS / AGPS

Processor: Qualcomm MSM 7225 (528 MHz)

RAM: 256 MB

ROM: 512 MB

Expansion Slot: microSD

Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, WiFi 802.11 b/g, micro-USB, 3.5 mm headset jack

Battery: Lithium-Ion 1010 mAh

GSM Talk time: up to 480 minutes for GSM

Standby: up to 400 hours for GSM

Dimensions: 110 x 55 x 15, 1 mm

Weight: 124.6 grams

(Via UberGizmo, the Gadgets News Blog.)

Today, the company is releasing the second generation, the Wireless Video Presentation System II. This device weighs only 1 lb and is small enough to be tucked away someplace out of sight. It allows the user to connect their electronics to the box instead of having the run long, expensive cords to the projector. The new system is able to support up to WXGA (1280 x 7680) resolution and can support many video formats including MPEG, DivX, Xvid, and WMV 9. In addition, the system can also handle multiple uses and can handle up to 254 users simultaneously. The range is also impressive at up to 300 feet away. The Wireless Video Presentation System II is available through Black Box and retails for just under $450.

[via Campus Technology]

Well, if you’re in the UK, you can satisfy your cravings pretty soon, as the phone is set to hit the UK market on November 12th. Expansys has the phone listed at £529.99 ($878), though there is speculation that the phone will be available for about £405 ($667). In case you’ve forgotten, the Nokia X6 will sport a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi, stereo speakers, 3.5mm headphone jack, TV out, 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, and a healthy 32GB of internal memory. The phone also includes Nokia’s ‘Comes With Music’ unlimited downloads for a year.

(Via UberGizmo, the Gadgets News Blog.)

The beefy little flip offers 810F compliance for resistance against shock, dust, vibration, salt, fog, humidity, sunlight, and temperature extremes, EV-DO-based push-to-talk, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 2 megapixel camera plus VZ Navigator support. Verizon's also touting its 'long battery life' (we'll be the judge of that) with a 1300mAh pack on board, so you should be able to chirp-chirp your way through the night if you play your cards right and you've got some willing participants on the other end. Look for this one to drop (quite literally -- it's rugged, after all) on November 15 for $49.99 on contract after a $50 mail-in rebate.

(Via Engadget Mobile.)

That said, it definitely seems to continue the Chocolate line's music-oriented tradition with an integrated FM radio, dedicated music key, stereo Bluetooth, equalization tech from Dolby Mobile, and a curious 'Join the Band' function that lets you add in your own beats to the music with a full on-screen drum kit. You get 178-degrees of viewing angle (and not beyond 180 degrees as mentioned earlier) alongside better colors, while boasting a GPU that can decode H.264 video at up to 720p. The question on everyone's minds was of course how much of that boost was buoyed by the new kid on the block, and while Sony still hasn't given us any domestic figures (nor will it ever, probably), we now know that the thing sold 28,000 units on its first day of availability on its home turf in Japan. That's certainly better than the measly 1,000 units moved in Australia over the same period, but hardly encouraging when you look at its predecessors. According to Media Create the original PSP sold 171,963 units in a day in Japan. The PSP-2000? 130,000. UMD may be hated by everyone, but it seems to still have legs.

(Via Engadget Video.)

So very much, according to Creative, who just dropped word of an upcoming 'MediaBook' device (which will undoubtedly look nothing like this mockup above). It sounds a bit more like a PMP to us, with 'video, pictures, text and services,' and a 'media-rich experience' on the table, but Creative is also apparently working with publishers for content, with an obvious emphasis in Singapore sources, where Creative already does e-learning work. There's no word of what it'll look like, but it'll be a large touchscreen of some sort, so it sounds like we've got another slate on our hand. Any differentiation might come from having Zii under the hood and Creative's own particular approach to content for this device, but there's not really enough to get excited about at this point.

(Via Engadget Video.)

Well this new pico projector might be the answer. Today, Allcam announced the release of their first projector, the CP1. What makes this model special is that it is also a handheld computer that uses the projector as the display screen. The CP1 features VGA (640 x 480) resolution and only 10 ANSI lumens. It uses LCoS display technology with an older white LED lamp system. The only connections available are dual mini USB connections; one for a host and another to connect to the main PC. The CP1 will not outperform any laptop you currently have, but it’s a nice alternative for anyone who can’t or doesn’t carry one with them to meetings. To control the computer, Allcam has included a mouse touch pad and buttons on top instead of the keypad that is typically found on pico projectors. Other major features include a 64MB internal memory with another possible 4GB from an SD card, 4 hour battery life, and built in speakers. Allcam has released the CP1 through Amazon for a retail price of £194 ($288).

[via Pico Projector Info]
