Apple recently announced the latest iPhone version called iPhone 4S, but is there much difference between the older iPhone 4 and the new iPhone version.

Well, they do look identical in design and shape. In fact, one cannot differentiate between the two on the first time. It does not have an astonishingly thin body not the revolutionary NFC chip. Lets find out what Apple has put in the new iPhone:

Better Camera: Apple iPhone now has a 8MP camera with auto focus and LED flash. It also supports 1080p HD recording, LED video light and movie stabilization.
New OS: The iPhone 4S is based on the iOS 5 which has around 200 new features compared to the older iOS including new Notification center, new browser, new Photo Apps, new messaging application and many more.
Dual Core Processor: iPhone 4S has a 1Ghz Dual Core ARM Cortex-A9 processor making it more faster than iPhone 4.
More Memory: iPhone 4S will come in three variants 16/32/64GB compared to the iPhone 4 which came in 32 and 16GB only.
Connectivity: The iPhone 4 was having some antenna issues which have been sorted out in its latest version iPhone 4S. Two antennas have been provided with iPhone 4S for better connectivity and call quality.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Announced – Price and Features

Samsung has announced another smartphone based on the Android’s Latest Ice Cream sandwich OS. It runs on a 1.2Ghz Dual core processor and has a 4.65″ Super AMOLED Touchscreen. It has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and has a scratch resistant Oleophobic surface.

It comes in two variants 16/32GB and has 1GB RAM. NFC support is also available which allows you to transfer files just by tapping to another phone. All the latest connectivity is present with Wi-Fi hotspot, Dual band Wi-Fi, Wi-fi hotspot and Bluetooth v3.0.

Samsung Google Nexus also known as Samsung Google Nexus Prime will be released in November this year. Its expected price range is INR 26000-30000.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, Xperia Active Announced – Price and Features

Sony Ericsson has recently unveiled two smartphones under the Popular Xperia Series. Both of these are Android based and run on the v2.3 Gingerbread. Here is a quick sneak peak into their features and specs.

1. Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray

Xperia Ray features a 3.3″ LED blacklit LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 854. It is powered with a 1GHz Scorpian processor and an Adreno 205 GPU, it also has 512MB RAM. It has integrated Sony BRAVIA Mobile engine, Timescape UI and on the outside, it has a scratch resistant surface. There is a 8MP auto focus camera with LED flash, and has features such as Touch focus, face detection, Geotagging. It is also capable of recording HD 720p videos and you can also use LED light during video shooting.

Xperia Ray comes with 300MB of internal memory and supports Micro SD card up to 32GB, 4GB micro SD card comes on board. In the connectivity it has Wi-fi with Wi-Fi Hotspot and DLNA support, Bluetooth, 3G and Micro USB. It also has A-GPS and Integrated Google maps. It will be available in Black, White, Pink and Gold colors.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray is scheduled to release in Q3 of 2011 and its estimated price in India is INR 28000 i.e USD 620.

2. Sony Ericsson Xperia Active

Xperia Active features a 3.0″ LED blacklit LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 480. It is a water resistant phone and can kept under 1 meter of water for 30min. It is powered with a 1GHz Scorpian processor, it also has 512MB RAM. It has integrated Sony BRAVIA Mobile engine, Timescape UI and on the outside, it has a scratch resistant surface. There is a 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash, and has features such as Touch focus, face detection, Geotagging, red eye correction. It is also capable of recording HD 720p videos and you can also use LED light during video shooting.

Xperia Ray comes with 320MB of internal memory and supports Micro SD card up to 32GB, 2GB micro SD card comes on board. In the connectivity it has Wi-fi with Wi-Fi Hotspot and DLNA support, Bluetooth, 3G and Micro USB. It also has A-GPS and Integrated Google maps. It will be available in Orange/Black and White/Black color combinations. 3D gaming and Motion gaming are also available in this phone.

Nokia N9 Meego Based Smartphone Announced – Price and features

Nokia has announced their latest smartphone N9 based on the Linux based Meego platform, jointly developed by Nokia and Intel. Nokia N9 is the first ever phone to come without a single button control on the front surface. The navigation is solely based on the swipe based gestures. The home screen has three panels that you can swipe, first one contains all applications you have installed, second one is the notifications and messages area and the third panel contains the applications currently active in a form of grid.

Nokia N9 will have support for Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby headphone, first phone to support that. There is a 8MP Carl Zeiss camera with auto focus and LED flash. Nokia claims it to be fastest camera capable of capturing instant photos and also with a minimum launch time. It also records HD videos with 16:9 Widescreen with smooth continuous focusing.

Nokia N9 features a new browser supporting HTML5 based on the Webkit2 technology. Nokia N9 will be available in three colors – black, pink and blue.

Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman Phone – Price and Features

Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman phone is the latest from Sony Ericsson in the popular Walkman Series of mobile handsets. It is a java phone and has STE 4910 processor running in it. Featuring a 3.0″ Capacitive touchscreen, it has a maximum resolution of 240 x 400. It has outer scratch resistant surface and supports only Single touch input, so no pinch zooming here.

Sony Ericsson Mix has 3.2MP camera and internal memory of 100MB, expandable to 32GB via Micro SD card. The walkman player, SenseME, Track ID music recognition are few other features present in this phone. Motorola Photon 4G Price and Release Date

Motorola Photon 4G will be released in partnership with Telecom Service Provider Sprint in US and will support 4G connectivity.
