New PS3 bundles are starting to hit the shelves, like the Wall-e/Little Big Planet bundle that recently started selling at Best Buy, and now a Killzone 2/MGS4 bundle that is rumored to hit the shelves soon. But is Sony trying to get rid of the 80GB sku before it releases PS3’s next best thing? Are the current bundles worth the buy? The PS3 Slim is pretty much the real deal, and there has to be great belief that it has to come out at a lower price to attract consumers. So, let’s do the math 80GB PS3 =$399.99- $60(Killzone 2) – $30 (MGS4) the same can be subtracted by using the Wall-e/LBP bundle, and the new total is around $310, which leads to a very accurate price for the PS3 Slim. Say hello to the $299.99 PS3 Slim.

As far as the new 80GB bundles go, a good buy with a good movie, and great games, but quite honestly, Sony might be too late introducing these bundles. What a leak does to your sales. PS3 Slim, come to papa.

Capcom is giving us some consistent PS3 and PSP love. They’ve announced that they’ll be rolling out more downloadable titles for both PS3 and PSP over the next few months.

First up is Capcom Classics Collection:Remixed, a collection of arcade classics that will be on the PlayStation Store tomorrow for US$ 19.99. This is a PSP-only title and will include games such as Bionic Commando, Captain Commando, the original Street Fighter, and Strider. After that, we will get another PSP game, Fate/Unlimited Codes.

Next up, and finally, the PSN will be seeing an increase of more PSone Classics and downloadable PSP games. Note that the PlayStation Legacy games will be playable on both PS3 and PSP, while the UMD Legacy titles will only be for PSP.

Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Demo will make its way to the PSN before the release of the Game.

The single player campaign will be longer than the first game. There will be 90 minutes of cinematic alone.

The multiplayer will have more new game modes, maps, and boosters

Most of the Trophies will be on the single player and co-op portion of the game. Naughty Dog does not want to have many multiplayer trophies that are basically hard to get through tons of kills or wins.

No split screen co-op.

New hand to hand combat: The entire combat and enemy system has been revamped for this game which includes hand to hand melee. New enemy classes that will change the way in which you have to approach them. The lightest classes of enemy will allow you to perform hand to hand combat much the same way it was in Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, but the medium classes enemies will counter your attacks requiring you to dodge before you can finish them off. Then the heaviest class of enemies won’t let you melee them at all!

Co-Op modes: at least 2 more cooperative modes (that are actually some of my favorite). We also have variations on all the competitive modes that focus on specific kinds of weapons. And of course our Cinema mode allows you to play back any of your matches and view it from ANY angle. You’ll also be able to upload those recordings so others can download them and view them on their PS3’s. You’ll also be able to upload screen shots from that mode as well.

There will be similar amount of puzzles in Uncharted 2 as in Uncharted 1, but overall there’s also more problem-solving in the levels — meaning: figuring out how to navigate the environments, and what’s the best approach to different combat set-ups. Also, there is still a journal in this game (this time it’s Nate’s journal, not Francis Drake’s diary) to assist in puzzle-solving — but this time the player will have to thumb through the pages themselves to figure out the solutions to the problems.

So before we get in to the TQ details, who is Cole? Cole is an everyday day guy that one day was delivering a package, but little did he know that the package was a ticking timed bomb ready to blow. Cole survives the explosion, but half of the city is now destroyed, people are getting sick from a plague, gangs are ruling the city, and Cole is now a totally different man, a man with unusual electrical powers. But what do you do with those powers? And why Cole?

Controls: Think of a human spider, yes Spiderman! You will be climbing many buildings, using electrical wires, trains, and railroad tracks as transportation. So, how does all this work? The games’ controls are fairly easy, and somewhat auto-adjusted for easier grabs, and jumps to buildings, or electrical wires, which can get annoying when you are trying to jump from one building to another and the jump goes no where, but the same place you started from. The game uses all PS3 controller buttons which has become unusual now a day. The button placements are perfect and easy to remember. Cole’s agility is superb, he can do flips sideways, backwards, forward, which give you full control of his movements and make it easier to counter attacks.

Graphics: The city is easily one of the best looking cities in a game to date, and the choice of colors, buildings, and structural material really shows off how an open world video game should be design. Climbing the very top of a high skyscraper and looking down at the city is a total natural high, literally. Character designs are just on point as the environments. You can easily distinguish the enemies from the normal everyday people around the city, and the main character Cole is detailed even when the camera moves to a close 3rd person view. Character movements and attacks look natural. Explosions, Fires, collisions, and Cole’s powers all look great. The game’s cut scenes are delivered via comic style clips that mix a dark Robert Rodriguez look to it. Although the game looks very good, there are several camera flaws and graphical issues that shouldn’t really affect the game play at all, but could get annoying some what. The enemies when killed and thrown in to the water seem to just be lying above the water, instead of floating. Some of the characters get stuck running in to buildings. Cole gets stuck between pillars or buildings at times.

Sound: Play this game on at least a 5.1 surround sound system, or some good 5.1 headsets, you will not be disappointed. All sounds in the game have very crisp sounds. The music is place perfectly in the game. When the game is just about to get in to a twist or big mission, the music really plays a huge role in building the suspense, not only because it is expected, but because it is some of the best suspense music ever heard in a game. The character voices are top notch. You can really picture the type of person the character really is, by the tone of voice and style that is spoken. Ride a moving train and hear the wind blow right by you.

Replay Value/Story: So Cole has these electrical powers, and his mission is to power the city back up after all electricity has been shutdown, and essentially clean up the city from street gangs that are obviously working for a head boss. You are equipped with a karma state meter, which plays a huge role, since your actions, and decisions affect you karma state and ultimately the deciding factor for the outcome of your destiny. Evil actions such as hurting pedestrians, or stealing give u evil Karma (red) good actions such as saving lives, and helping the police give you a good karma (blue). Will you be a good guy or a bad guy? Which ever side you take, Cole is searching for answers, and the biggest differences with evil or good choices are the type of powers you unlock. One of the best things about the game is the fact that it slowly teaches you it slowly introduces the new abilities and the powers through out the game which has you playing with anticipation to discover the next power. The game’s story builds up nicely, the further you get in the game, the thicker the story and the emotions get. With no multiplayer, does this game have any replay value. Yes! Like mentioned, you can either be a good guy or bad guy, so essentially you can play the game twice, once as a good guy, and another as an evil heartless monster. Of course a second or even third time visit to the game is a must to unlock all possible PSN trophies. From shards, healing, or eating energy, you will have plenty of ways to earn the very addicting PSN trophies. A quick tip: Take your time with the game, don’t try to rush through it, or you will easily get worn out. Playing for about 1 hour to 2 hours per sit-down will make this game much better, and the anticipation to play it the next day will be greater.

Wishes or Changes: A hovering device for Cole. Although there are many forms of transportation in the game, such as train rails, trains and electrical cables, a hovering device that would get Cole from point A to point B much would have been a great addition. Of course it might have defeated the purpose of climbing buildings.

TQ bottom line Michela Rating: An addicting experience that will remind of you of a game called crackdown, but on steroids. Great graphics, Electrifying powers, non-stop ambushes, a true connection to the character, incredible story, and best of all, the beginning to what could very well be a one of the best recognized franchises in gaming.

Seems that the internet is going on a frenzy with the news that Sony will be releasing Firmware update 2.80 for the PS3 tomorrow. Now according to our good friend Matt Furtado from the San Diego examiner, the update will have some minor fixes and enhancements, to improve the xbm’s speed and trophy synchronization. Article updated a few minutes ago, Matt reports that the much anticipated PSN feature of “in-game chat” will also be part of this update. How much is this true? Well I’ll just say that I won’t believe it till I see it. This update was supposed to be released during E3, and now the anticipation died down a bit. Come on Sony surprise the heck out of us.

We recently had a chance to check out some of the Nyko products coming out later this year, and we wanted to share one that caught our eye for several reasons. The Nyko Type Pad pro, a “Wii chat pad” which serves as a great alternative to using the Wii-mote for internet browsing, texting, friend code swapping, or simply for memo recording, may have Wii owners chatting it up a bit more. The Typad Pro has a central placement for a Nyko Wand or Wii Remote which allows for easy navigation and field selection, and is using the Trans-Port Technology which allows the A and B button to be utilize directly from the type pad. The Wii will continue making its money from games such as Wii Play, Wii fit, and Super Mario, but has Nintendo approved games for the hardcore now? This E3 2009, Konami showed off a particular title that has had our staff going crazy, we are talking about Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. The game was announced at the Konami press conference several days ago, and the game not only looks impressive for being a Wii title, but Silent Hill: Shattered Memories brings back the horror, suspense gameplay that was lacking on the Wii.

The story follows Harry Mason, who wakes up after a car accident to find that his daughter Cheryl is missing. Harry will wander the snowy streets of Silent Hill searching for answers of her disappearance, but when the world freezes over, he will need to escape the lumbering demons that haunt his steps. Harry will need to navigate both worlds to discover the truth; not just about his missing daughter, but also the type of person he actually is.

TQcast got one of the new “Greatest Hits” games correct as an E3 prediction. But they came at us a week early this time around.

Sony is re-releasing their top PLAYSTATION 3 titles as “Greatest Hits.”  Starting June 16, you can now get these titles for only $29.99. What is up with the lack of Uncharted? What titles would you like to see added to this list?

Just 3 months after its release, the guys at Guerilla Games are patching up Killzone 2 once again to satisfy their community. This time around they have added many features such as the “functionality to make the process of finding and playing with friends much easier, tweaked the Skirmish Mode to keep it interesting for players with lower-bandwidth network connections, introduced a new ‘High Precision’ option to the controller configuration menu, and improved the overall balance of the game.”

Be on the look out tomorrow May 28, 2009 for this patch and for their “Flash and Thunder pack” that should go very well together. Like all multiplayer updates, this will be great when we have out TQGaming nights.

New Kojima project is not MGS5 it will be a game or movie that will built up the MGS5 game. Possibly a game/movie with Raiden rescuing Sunny but not named MGS5. Also Expect a MGS4 DLC update.

Blu-Ray and Video game packs will be announced at E3. The latest Spiderman movie just came out, guess what? Sony has included the video game on the same disk. It’s called taking advantage of 50gigs. It is Quite possible that the Kojima Project will be a combination of a movie and video game on one blu-ray.

In game chat, in game invites, Trophy cards, avatars, more home space will be part of a major update that will release while we are all at E3.

Sony will introduce a PS3 slim at a $299,99-349.00 price range

Sony will also introduce several PS3 bundles with a price tag of 349.99-399.99(some of the games included in the bundle will be Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Infamous, and Killzone 2.

New PS3 Greatest Hit games will get announced: Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank Tool of Destruction, Heavenly Sword, Valkyria Chronicles, Pure.

***Update*** The countdown was a major tease. A new animation with rain and a new countdown started at 200 hours. The countdown would stop on the Friday before E3. Also, if you look closely, the site now has the letter E and the numbers 3 and 5 flashing in and out.

At 9pm eastern time today, we will know what Kojima’s next project is all about. Or will we? As of now, many rumors have circled the internet, claiming that this indeed is a teaser page for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5 game. Is Kojima really jumping in to MGS5 now? Is Metal Gear Solid 4 history? What about trophy support and the rumored 2 level DLC to be played with Raiden for MGS4? I guarantee that having only 2 levels to be played with Raiden and trophy support would have gamers just as excited as a new Metal Gear Solid 5 game that we probably won’t even see till late 2010. Or is Kojima messing with us? Making us think it’s a Metal Gear Solid game, using the franchise which has pretty much been his bread and butter, and then revealing something unexpected? What ever it is, we will find out in a few via the project’s web site.

This new DLC Pack contains 2 maps will lets us remember the first Killzone: Beach Head and Southern Hills. Both levels have been completely re-envisioned with the Killzone 2 engine and technology.

In the Beach Head map, the Helghast land on the sandy Vektan beaches forcing the ISA to defend their stronghold. Torrential rain and gale-force winds batter the landscape, with the water-filled craters supplying only limited cover. This harsh terrain requires you to keep your “head on a swivel” as enemies lurk around every corner.

The Southern Hills map takes the battle to a central Helghast base camp located on a hilltop. This version has been beefed upconsiderably over the original Killzone counterpart, with smaller structures offering plenty of hiding places that lend itself well to close quarters combat and long range sniping. Take cover when you hear alarms going off, as there might be a radioactive surprise headed your way.

It’s been over 3 long years since the world has been introduced to Fight Night: Round 3. The graphics were highly attributed at its time during the launch of the next generation hardware. Since then, gamers have had many boxing games enter the ring, but none have come close to surpassing EA’s Fight Night franchise. That’s all about the change on June 30th when Fight Night: Round 4 hit store shelves for PS3 and Xbox 360.

On May 14th, an exclusive demo was released to download as a bonus for pre-ordering the game. You can fight for 3 rounds as Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton or Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao. For the rest, you can lace up your gloves for the free demo on May 28th on Xbox Live for gold subscribers or on June 4th for the Playstation Network.

I got my hands on this demo so I can give you an opinion and insight in to what Fight Night Round 4 did for my fighting spirit. The demo begins by introducing you to the biggest changes that have been made to Fight Night. Such as the NEW Total Control Fighting that takes advantage of each boxers style. “Style Makes Fights” is the center point of this games appeal campaign. Be a brawler, a counter-puncher, or an inside fighter and master distinctively unique styles that cater to your height, reach, and other attributes.

The right analog stick is used for punches and the left analog controls your leaning. The left trigger is no longer used for targeting the body, but to move the body itself. This puts the entire punch control on just the right analog stick. With signature moves, clinches, illegal blows and pushes mapped to the face buttons. The newly added push button does what it sounds like. It pushes the opponent away from you. You will need this function now that the boxers can get into each others close proximity. I welcome the games greatest improvements, the close to gone animation clipping and character proximity barrier from the previous game. So now when you uppercut to break an opponents guard , your bodies and limbs will actually come into contact and perform as they do in the real world.

Does the game pull off the style and precision that was promised? In short, yes it definitely controls more precisely and actually caters to your playing style much more then previous boxing games. The punching flows real well with the speed of your actually flicking and the fighters don’t feel like their sluggish counterparts in Fight Night Round 3. The first thing I noticed was the increase in speed of your boxer and how quickly the jabs come off the bell and quickly develop into a satisfying combo. What I felt next was what Fight Night Round 4 wants us all to feel in its gameplay. To have total control of your boxers timing, leans, and counters. No more will you have to worry about the parry spammer problem from round 3. That feature is completely gone, which opens up the gameplay for more match possibilities and outcomes. Timing is key in Fight Night Round 4, and one wrong angle and lean can lead to a knockout. If boxing has shown us one thing, it takes just one good punch to turn a fight around into a victory.

Fight Night has always been about the graphics. They were pretty much the selling point of Round 3 when it released on next-gen hardware. This time around the graphics are still very high quality but don’t quite have the appeal they did when the level of graphics was still mediocre in the console market. Even so, their is not much to complain about. The players bodies still sweat, bleed, and twist like no other goes. I could go on forever on how beautiful the textures and character models are, but I’ll let you see that for yourself.

When it comes to audio. The sound hasn’t changed much. The commentators still repeat themselves often, but at least it keeps up with the action 85% of the time. The standard EA RAPS parade flooding the menu systems is present in this EA Sports title like so many others. The fighting audio has plenty of bass and crunch as you beat sounds through your 5.1 speakers. The counter punches have a distinct thump when they connect so you know if a punch causes extra damage . The crowd presence are nothing fancy but add to the experience with their chants and cheers for individual boxers. They are fully rendered, so don’t expect cardboard cutouts.

Overall, Fight Night Round 4 has progressed like any good boxer does. At it’s core mechanics and speed. Even if you own Fight Night Round 3, Round 4 has enough new featured to pull you back in for a rematch. Look for over 40 fighters and an appealing online mode when you pick up this game on June 30th. Did I mention you can be Iron Mike Tyson without fear of going insane?

HD-DVD may be dead to the people that have completely dismissed it from their entertainment center setup. But for those that still use or collect HD-DVDs, Amazon has an incredible mO DeAl that you cannot pass up.

Stock Up TQfam, HD-DVD is making a comeback!….at least for this week.

The much anticipated Em album has just blessed the TQ ears, and the verdict is in. Relapse is the closest thing to the Slim Shady LP as you can get, if it wasn’t for the commercial type of songs in the album, this could of been a SSLP 2009 version. Obviously Em needed to attract and cause hate talk toward his tracks to hype up the album, and nothing wrong with that what so ever,except that the track placement on the album seems out of place at times.

Eminem covers many topics, but mostly his addiction to pills. The album feels as if he was half himself and half the drugged up Em that he is trying to overcome. He brings up his mom like usual in a hard Dre beat that will have you replaying the track a few times. He also covers child molestation, murder, addiction, recovery, Christopher Reeves imitation, Mariah Carey warnings to Nick, and a very street THC track that will have the greenery puffers riding for a while with this one.

Over all, Relapse might not at first seem like the perfect 5 year come back for Eminem, but much like the few good LP’s now a days, this one will take several listens to truly appreciate. Don’t expect flashy, club bangers from Dre this time around, the beats seemed very well hand picked for the type of LP Em wanted to present. Relapse like stated in the album itself is only the beginning of what appears to be a huge year for Em’s Dual Relapse CD come back.

Wasteland Bullet- Is by far a much more impressing and fun map. As you can see on the video below, not only are flying bullets your enemy, but the surroundings and structures can sure take you out in as little as…. gone! Great Map, with additional obstacles during battle.

Vekta Cruiser- Is a very modern Industrial map that has a larger area to battle in. This map has several levels, so make sure you look up and down for those bullets.

Overall both maps are great additions to Killzone 2. And for those that feel that the maps were released much too early, then don’t buy them. Whether you are a die hard or casual Killzone 2 gamer, the maps are optional. This without a doubt makes Killzone 2 heads happy to have new refreshing maps. Hopefully the game continues getting supported the way it has thus far. You can pick this map pack on the PSN for $5.99
