In recent weeks, hype surrounding the iPad 3 has increased exponentially. This is helped along by an ever-increasing number of speculations and allegations concerning the device, with images popping up as proof. The latest piece of the upcoming device that is targeted is it’s front panel, one of the only parts that remained unseen. This has now changed. Apple.pro picked up images of the supposed front glass and digitizer assembly of the iPad 3. These images were initially posted by a Chinese micro-blogging site- Sina Weibo.

The images show a 9.7" front display that is claimed to be for the highly anticipated upcoming gadget. The part appears almost identical to the iPad 2′s, the only notable difference being a longer ribbon cable. This ribbon extends up the side of the display itself, whereas the iPad 2′s was shorter and oriented sideways.

As far as the remaining features are concerned, nothing new or different is seen. The home button is the typical rounded shape users have grown accustomed to seeing on all Apple devices. A hole in the top bezel houses both the frontal camera and the ambient light sensor. Features on iPad 2′s successor are largely similar to it, according to the images posted.

The blogger responsible for posting these images has also made a few, related claims. One of these is that the A5X processor picture leaked recently, on a logic board, is in fact a double core processor. Siri support is also affirmed. Another detail provided is that the third generation iPad will launch with iOS 5.1 and will have a 1080p rear camera, capable of image stabilization ( a feature available on the iPhone 4S). The post goes on to say that the eagerly awaited iPad 3 is going to see a mid-March release in the U.S. European countries such as Germany will most likely see an April release.

The post’s reliability is obviously not certain. However, if this rumour -alongside rumours pertaining to the rear casing, internal logic board and the high resolution display- proves to be correct, the world will have little new things to see when Apple officially unveils the device. Only information regarding the battery and camera modules has not become public yet. Apple is expected to announce the device in a media event on March 7.

Leaked photos of Apple’s iPad 3 have surfaced before it’s official release, still a few weeks away. The origin of these pictures is believed to be a Radiant Opto-Electronics factory in Wujiang, China which purportedly houses four complete models of the iPad 3 currently.  These photos were posted to a Chinese forum originally. The photos show screens, claimed to be of Samsung origin, and could well be for the iPad 3.

The photos are not too clear and this is credited to strong security surrounding the components. Apple is immensely secretive and protective of it’s as yet unannounced hardware, so it’s not surprising that the photos are blurry. However, it was only a matter of time before China proved to be the vulnerable spot in Apple’s strong supply chain.

Although an occurrence like this is highly unusual and suspect, the 9.7″ screens shown certainly do look like they could be for the iPad 3. Boxes of screens, which will head to Foxconn eventually, are not made by Sharp as we previously reported they might be. Shipments of the screens shown are not only marked with Samsung’s logo, but are also sealed by it’s tape. The next step for these packages is supposed to be shipping through customs to South Korea and then to Apple.

If the screens, coded J2, are actually what they are supposed to be, they are likely to be high resolution Retina Displays with a pixel density of 2048 x 1536. The source that published the photos has suggested that the external design of the iPad 3 is identical to its predecessor. The photos themselves seem to confirm recent reports of the iPad 3 having an improved camera. The camera module stealthily captured in photos is slightly different than that of old iPad’s, increasing chances of it being 5 or 8 MegaPixels.

If the iPad 3 is all that it is being rumoured to be, it’ll prove to be a massive success in all likelihood. The Retina Display alone could guarantee astonishing sales. The date when the world will finally know exactly what the device will be like is nearing. The general opinion is that Apple will unveil the highly anticipated device on March 7. iPad 3, the latest of the iDevices to be launched, has been gathering a lot hype lately. Rumors about its launch date and specifications have been flying around and there have been leaks which have confirmed some of them. A Portuguese blog confirmed that iPad 3 has a Retina Display with 2048 x 1536 resolution, twice as much as that of its predecessor, iPad 2.

It was speculated that iPad 3 will have a better camera than the forerunner iPad 2 which has a rather disappointing 1 megapixel camera. In contrast to that, the other A5 device iPhone 4S has one of the best on-phone cameras in the world, boasting redesigned optics and a backside illuminated 8MP sensor capable of shooting 1080p videos.

A Chinese blog has posted screenshots which show that the camera hole is larger than that of iPad 2 and a Taiwanese blog has published that the reason behind the larger hole is to accommodate a 8 megapixel camera.

The screenshots also reveal that the new iPad 3 looks more beveled than iPad 2 or iPad 1. iPad 3 is rumored to have an A6 quadcore processor, a retina display with 2048×1536 resolution so naturally it will require a bigger and more powerful battery. The change in design might be to allow space for the larger battery.

7^th March marks the one year anniversary of iPad 2 and its rumored that iPad 3 will be launched on 7^th March. If all these rumors are true, iPad 3 will be a must have gadget with its amazing specifications.

On Friday, we got the news that a new settlement has reached between Apple and members of a class-action lawsuit over an antenna issue with the iPhone 4 and that Apple will offer U.S residents who purchased the device $15 in cash or a free bumper case.

The whole Antenna-gate scandal controversy started when Apple launched iPhone 4 and immediately, customers faced a problem with the signal reception. Apple blatantly denied that it was a technical fault, rather it’s because of the way users grip the phone. We saw Steve Jobs suggesting “AVOID HOLDING IT LIKE THAT” as a solution for the problem. Finally Apple did admit it was a problem at their end and offered a bumper casing which was to solve the signal drop problem or:

“As a reminder, if you are not fully satisfied, you can return your undamaged iPhone to any Apple Retail Store or the online Apple Store within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.”

The latest settlement offers users either a free iPhone bumper case, which the company sells for $29, or they can instead opt to receive $15 in cash. Those who held out for the lawsuit essentially gain nothing, as Apple’s original settlement to users in 2010 was to give away free bumper cases to iPhone 4 buyers as well. Following the settlement, Apple has released a statement yesterday that the offer is not valid for all the customers who faced this problem.

“This settlement relates to a small number of customers who indicated that they experienced antenna or reception issues with their iPhone 4 and didn’t want to take advantage of a free case from Apple while it was being offered in 2010,” Apple spokeswoman Natalie Harrison told me on Saturday.”

For all those affected users, as soon as the www.iphone4settlement.com website is live, they will be able to receive their compensation.

Rumors have been going around for weeks now; Apple’s iPad 3 is expected to be launched on 7^th March. The authenticity of the news is not the subject here; rather we will be updating you on the latest news that is circling the gadget world. The 2048× 1536 Retina Display, after being seen on the iPhone 4S, seemed almost certain for the future tablet and that has proven to be the case.

Macrumors, a blog that deals with news and updates about Apple, has posted some screenshots confirming that iPad 3 will have Retina Display.

iPad 3 display is the same size as the current iPad 1 and iPad 2 display at 9.7″ in diagonal, and looks quite similar to the naked eye. However the image in the screenshot has been obtained by viewing a raw powered off display under a microscope. Though the lighting is poor to say the least, the pixel density difference is clearly visible. The right part of the image proves that iPad 3 has twice as many pixels as compared to an iPad2. You can see the green, blue and red elements as well and where iPad 2 has 4 pixels in a selected area, iPad3 has 16.

With iPad 1 and iPad 2 having a resolution of 1024×768, iPad 3 with its 2048×1536 resolution will have better and much sharper display and image quality.

Portuguese blog BlogDoiPhone has somehow gotten their hands on an unreleased iOS 5.1 GM and has uploaded screenshots of the lockscreen. GM stands for Golden Master which is a build ready for release. No information on as to how they were able to acquire a GM but BlogDoiPhone has given us a reason to be excited about iOS 5.1 release.

The screenshots of the iOS 5.1 GM show that Apple has brought a few changed to lockscreen. It features the camera button which adds a second slider to the Slide To Unlock mechanism. The slider moves vertically, revealing the full set of tools found in the Camera.app. Currently, to open the Camera application without having to unlock your phone, you must double-tap the Home button to display the button for the camera.

Also revealed in the iOS 5.1 GM leaked screenshots is Japanese language option in Siri. Ever since Siri’s launch, there have been many concerns put forward by non-American users as Siri is unable to understand their accents.

As we already updated you a week back that iOS 5.1 is scheduled for release in March, now we know what those rumors about Siri Improvements were. Stay tuned as March nears and users will be able to have the latest iOS 5.1 in their device.

Apple has released Messages Beta for Mac OS X today. Messages incorporate two of Apple’s chat and messaging applications, iChat for Mac OS X an instant messaging software application with audio, video and screen-sharing capabilities as well as text messaging and iMessage allows users to send texts, photos, videos, contact information, and group messages over Wi-Fi or 3G to other iOS 5 users, thus providing an alternative to standard SMS messaging for all users with devices running iOS 5.

The release of Messages will mean an end to iChat feature from Mac OS X. Nothing to fear for iChat users though as they will still be able to perform all the functions of iChat using Messages alongside many new features that have been added.

The Messages app will bring the following features:

• Unlimited messages to any Mac, iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.
• Start a conversation on your Mac and continue on any other device as it syncs between them all.
• The ability to send photos, videos and voice attachments between devices.
• Invoke a Facetime call from within the Messages application.
• Continue to use additional services such as AIM, Yahoo and Google as they are all built in to Messages.

The final release will be shipped with Mac OS X Mountain Lion in summer. The beta however is available for download from Apple’s Website free of charge.

AssitantConnect4S is a new tweak from Cydia that allows users to get Siri on non-iPhone 4S devices, without setting up a proxy server. That’s right, you can now get Apple’s intelligent voice assistant on older devices without requiring your own proxy setup.

Previously, we have written about Spire, the best Siri port to date. Spire had a few drawbacks. Users not only required a jailbroken device but access to a Siri proxy as well, which was difficult for most people. AssitantConnect4S is now here to help. What the tweak does is fairly simple: It lets iPhone 4S owners e-mail their authentication data to non-iPhone 4S owners thus allowing the recipient of the data to natively use Siri. The need for a proxy server is bypassed.

Apple has recently begun to try to disable Siri porting to other, older devices, This goes in accordance with Apple’s claim of the iPhone 4S being the only device out there capable of handling Siri. Developers have tried their best not to let this claim remain true for too long and many jailbreak enthusiasts already enjoy Siri on their older devices, which Apple is aware of and does not like. Since Apple is going to try to disable porting of Siri to other phones, the developer of AssistantConnect4S has recommended that AssistantConnect4S be used to mail data to only around five people. This is a precautionary measure, to avoid detection and its consequences.

This latest tweak, AssistantConnect4S, is available free of charge in Cydia’s repository BigBoss. Needless to say, you need to jailbreak your device to be able to enjoy Siri on non-iPhone 4S models. Follow one of our previous guides to jailbreak your iDevice. If you wish to share authentication data from an older device instead, you can use AssistantConnect. To activate Siri on your older device, follow these instructions:

Step 1: Launch Cydia, search for and then install the Spire Cydia tweak on your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad.

Step 2: Enable Siri by tapping on Settings > General > Siri > On.

Step 3: Go back into Cydia, install the AssistantConnect Cydia tweak. Once installed, launch it from your home-screen and reboot your device.

Step 4: Repeat Step 3 to install AssistantConnect4S next.

Step 5: Once your phone is done rebooting, open AssistanConnect4S. Give Siri a voice command and wait for it to respond. This is to allow AssistanConnect4S to log the authentication data the proper way.

Step 6: After Siri has responded, you can close it and select the E-mail Siri Data button to send data to an older device. The attachment should have a file size greater than O KB.

Step 7: Open the e-mail client on which ever older device you have sent the data to. Tapping the authentication data attachment should prompt you to open the file with AssistantConnect. Do so. A message will appear, saying that AssistantConnect has been successful in loading the authentication data.

Step 8: Reboot your device.

(Please note that the authentication device expires every 24 hours. To continue enjoying Siri on a device other than an iPhone 4S you will need to re-send data after 24 hours.)
