Quick 4K Test

Just seeing if it’s worth it to start recording in 4K or stick with 1080p. 1080 is fine for phones and tablets, even laptops, but I’m curious how much better 4K would work when watching the videos on a smart TV.

5D Mark II Video Test

I’ve been doing a little video testing lately. I was reading a post on photographer/videographer, Vincent Laforet’s site the other day where he shared some of the settings he used on a Canon 5D Mark II (same camera I shoot with), so I wanted to check it out.

Anyway, it gave me an excuse to do a little playing. 🙂

Jazz and Black & White Photography

A friend of mine, jazz guitarist, Steve Jacobson was in Vegas last week and we managed to get a quick session in with our friend, flautist, Bob Winett. Of course I had my camera with me so I was able to get a few shots.

I was editing these shots and decided to go with a more moody/artsy/contrasty approach. It reminded me more of the photos I’d seen of early jazz icons. Actually it was seeing so many of those photos, and that style of photography that really made me want to be a photographer in the first place.

Yep, New Design

For any of you who have ever known someone like a car mechanic, you know that they have an uncontrollable impulse to constantly make modifications on their rides. Same goes for web developers. I’m constantly compelled to create a new website each time I see a new bit of web technology that I simply must have!

As always, I will try and update the actual content of the site a bit more regularly. I promise (to try 🙂 )
