Teens building a business

Partner in business and in life.

2010-04-15T22:21:00.001-04:00

Hello,

As we all know its important to pick a solid business partner. You know with good and relevant background, a willingness to commit and work hard at something.

What about a partner in life? Does who you pick as a life partner have an impact on your role as a business man/woman? Is that person supportive and caring? Are they willing to see you struggle and also see you succeed? Are they willing to help you and encourage you in your business ventures as well as your life? A life partner is your biggest investment!

Business and Golf

2010-04-07T16:40:00.001-04:00

Hello,

Today is April 07 2010, tomorrow the Toronto Golf Courses are opening! This is a whole week early from last year!

Why not head out to the driving range and get the ole back into swinging motions again before the season.

Learning to golf and being in business is important. This incorporates your networking skills, and getting to know others personally.

It can help close a deal at work and start great relationships along getting to know a business partner. Its how business people exercise and socialize.

Social Media

2010-03-24T19:50:00.001-04:00

Hello,

One of the things teens have been idolized for is there ability to leverage social media and adapt to technology.

Many businesses are also starting to do this. The biggest sites used for leveraging are obviously Facebook and Twitter.

But there are also other GREAT sites like LinkedIn for professionals!

Imagine if your business was leveraging Facebook and Twitter along with your employees leveraging LinkedIn!!

How much more socially present and available would your firm be if it starting using social media sites today?

Technology! Use it and abuse it.

2010-03-22T14:27:00.000-04:00

I am one of those guys that loves to stay up to date on my gadgets!

However, I won't just go out and try everything. There has to be some sort of feature or incentive that I feel would beneficial.

Today, I bought a pair of Jabra Halo headphones.

They cost about $170, they include:
- headphones (Bluetooth),
- USB wall charger,
- USB cord for laptop,
- Case,
- USB to 3.5mm cord

To adjust volume slide finger up or down, to change the song double tap + to go forward, and - to go back.

They also answer calls and pause music with one button.

To turn them on simply unfold them.

Technology should be surrounding us in our businesses!

To not be comfortable with technology and behind is a serious loss!

Transferring that almighty position of power!!!!

2009-11-18T18:11:00.000-05:00

With all businesses, to be at the point of the company is one of the greatest things in life. But that position is even better if you are at the tip of the sword and have been through the good and (more recently) the bad. There is nothing like watching a company grow like a child. From birth to maturity. However after maturity, how would you feel about giving some of that power to someone else? To let someone else help in running or owning the business can be a stressful time for entrepreneurs. Some may worry that the selected person is not the right one, or what would they do in this situation if I am not around? Voice your opinions on some ideas of how to handle transferring the power to someone else.

P.S I may have just discovered the reason for so much golf in business!!!

Slogan

2009-11-11T17:55:00.001-05:00

Hello all,

With all the buzz about companies closing these days don't you think it is a stupendous idea to have a great slogan for your company? Something catchy, simple and elegant that will be remembered every time your company comes up. Everyone knows the "I'm lovin' it" slogan for McDonalds a slogan should have as big a impression on you as the company itself. I look at it if the slogan has as much impact on you as the actual company they are doubling there impact on you; which means a higher chance you'll do business with them.

Names

2009-11-04T18:00:00.002-05:00

How important is a business name? how much time do you think that one should invest in a name?

Registration

2009-10-28T18:27:00.000-04:00

Although it is not required to have your business registered until your business is making $29,999.99, how important do your think it is to have it registered before than for business and legal purposes?

Social Network Presence and Your Business

2009-10-22T10:23:00.001-04:00

Today is a day and age of the Internet. The Internet is everywhere, on our smartphones, laptops, Blu-Ray players - everything. But each company needs to play a significant role in the world of Social Online Presence. Many companies including Pearson Airport use Twitter to control and manage people who complain about lost luggage, there are even employees designated to monitoring the companies Twitter account and responding to complaints. In your small business do you use Social Networking to reach customers, if so which services do you use? If you do not use Social Networking, what kind of effect or impact do you think creating a Social Network presence will have on your business?

Looking good and working better.

Obviously today is a day different then days past, with Gen Y things will change as we know it. What is your take on dress code and work. the expectation now is full suit, but what about jeans and jacket with dress shirt, what about being semi-casual but still ready to work. Can teens that are looking to get into business be serious just by wearing a nice suit?
