Trying on Flex 4 and Paypal’s Express check out integration

Pheww… almost a week that I was trying on integration Paypal API with Adobe Flex 4 application. The result is correct. The money was transferred to seller account. I test this with Paypal’s sandbox account with Web Payment Pro. I also found some problem with Paypal’s sandbox service which almost everyone found. (I have to mention here that Paypal’s official developer who are helping developer is very gentle and they will get into your problem ASAP, cheer!)

Anyway I just done the re-skinning the PHP and HTML site, post them later.

At the moment, you will see it is work like a charm.

How to solved: Adobe AIR project get error after update Flash builder to version 4.0.1

Yes, Adobe released new update for the most powerful RIA development tool. What will happen next? yes, we download and install it. So what will happen next with your exist Adobe AIR project? got the error like this when you try to compile both in release and debug mode.

ERROR #1014: Class IIMEClient could not be found.

The easiest way to solve this problem is described below:

Go to your -app.xml
Replace your Adobe AIR version in this line:
With this line:
Save and re-compile your application.

The story of Adobe Flex framework’s “Hero”

I’m sure that everyone, who is working with Adobe technology, already know about the official update for Adobe Flash Builder 4.0.1 and Adobe Flex 4.1. In this release, we got official project which supports Adobe Flash Player 10.1 and Adobe AIR 2 (ahh… Finally). So I think you will enjoy to start develop your project to gain benefit on these latest technology. Thank to Adobe officer.

The most interesting from this release is the announcement of “Hero”, the code-name for next version of Adobe Flex SDK, which describe about Multi-screen development environment, new spark component, and Large-Application development. Sure, I pay attention to Multi-screen development environment

Ok, How about their Multi-screen development?

Generally, Adobe Flash builder already support 2 kind of screens already, web and desktop, what we are familiar with. The point is mobile screen. It is quite sure that “Hero” will be the second code-name of “Slider” (as known as Flex mobile framework) and will be targeted to Google’s Android platform. Adobe continue to publish official specification about “Hero” in their open source web site already. So you can follow them here. I expect to see Spark component which is specified for mobile and completed mobile tool set for Flash builder soon.

Who’ll know? may be in this MAX 2010.

My wish list to Adobe Flex “Slider” framework

What is “Slider” framwork? You may ask.

For common answer, it is an Adobe’s mobile application development platform.

For technique answer, this framework will lift up your Flex 4 to develop mobile application more easier.

Anyway, the framework is still in confidential development. But the feature seems shine out from the mobile development’s war. There are several things that “Slider” should has. So I listed what feature would make Flex developer feel happy here.

My Adobe “Slider” framework’s wish list.

Best practice for memory allocation
Component for mobile (eg. List and DataGrid). They should support user’s activity such as swipe.
Improved view (or state) management. We can see this example in iPhone OS. Apple provides its very well.
Ability to access native resource and native service. This feature may consume a lot of time to prepare for public release. Because of different native platform (Android, Windows Phone 7, BlackBerry, etc.) Adobe has to tune up their framework for each platform. But I am sure they are doing better thing.
Enhanced Publishing. Flash Builder (aka. Flex Builder 4) shows us the great work flow to publish content through various project’s type (eg. AIR development and web development). I have no doubt that Adobe plans to add something like “Mobile development” (or more specific platform such as “BlackBerry development”).

How do you thing? In my opinion, these are all feature it should be included in Slider framework when it released. May be we will got a surprise from Adobe MAX 2010. Who will know?

Countdown to Adobe MAX 2010

“Adobe MAX!?” you may said. If you are didn’t heard about this event before, this is your good chance. Adobe MAX is an Adobe’s official event which target to announce new inspiration to digital creation and productivity by introduce you their new tools. They often make you said “WOW” in this event. From the last Adobe MAX (2009), they announced the new capability of their digital interactive tool (Adobe Flash professional, now as a part of Adobe Flash platform) to engage user with multi-touch and iPhone application development.

Q. Will Flash websites work with Google TV?
A. Yes. Google TV supports Flash 10.1 and hence Flash websites will work.

This year, Adobe acts strongly to bring Flash platform to engage user to almost devices (Google Android (included with GoogleTV, yeah!), Window Phone 7, RIM’s BlackBerry, Meego, etc.) and with the war between them and Apple, It is possible that Adobe make brought “WOW” things about HTML5 to us.

Anyway, I also want to join this event too (It would be nice if I can go there with @Thinkafe and other Thailand Flex developer). Personally, I am waiting for “Slider“, a new enhanced library for Adobe Flex framework. It was planned to bring the completely mobile development environment for Flex developer. If you didn’t try Flash Builder, one of the great tools to develop rich internet application, just download it here for 60 days free (trial version). Finally, after you learn the official “Getting Started guide”, I’m quite sure you will feel exciting with me, and want that “Slider” release as soon as possible.

Will Greystripe become an important partner for Adobe soon?

I think we got a lot of news about WWDC this time. But this morning I also found there is a news about progress of Adobe and their Flash stories to reaching the Apple’s device universe.

Greystripe is shining now. They have technology to convert Flash content (almost in term of their definition, the ads) on the web to be rendered on Apple’s browser which is installed into iPad and iPhone. So we have to keep watching on this activity between Adobe and his partner. but do you know why?

Because if this technology is possible to be completed, it means Adobe may looks forward to build a tool that easily to “publish” Flash content from Flash Professional CS5, Flash Builder, or even Flash Catalyst into HTML5 format with Javascript and CSS3. It would be nice if this idea is going to live. but at the moment, we have to keep watching.

Is Apple's HTML5 demo just for themselves?

I am sure if you are the web developer, you must following the war of HTML5 which is getting more serious day by day. Now, while the battle between Adobe and Apple could not see the end, the new front line has declared, between Firefox, Opera and Apple.

The point is, many web developer (and other Apple-counter) found Apple’s HTML5 demos need on Safari to browse the content. This is very strange when the Apple said before “Standards aren’t add-ons to the web. They are the web.” which is clearly the content should available for any browser, not just for their browser. You can also find more detail in Opera said “it’s browser specific” and Christopher Blizzard’s blog: “intellectual honesty and html5″.

Even I am an official Adobe technology user and supporter. I know the future will finally rely on HTML5. But what I am seeing a crack between the companies who are supporting this next-gen technology. If those companies just want to promote their browsers for benefit, not for standard. I think it will take more long time to see HTML5 become a standard of the web and this situation will shining on the Adobe Flash platform, which is still overwhelm the interaction content of Internet.

Android 2.2 มากับศักยภาพในการรองรับ Adobe Flash และ Adobe AIR

หลังจากการเปิดตัวของ AIR for Android ในงาน Google I/O ที่ผ่านมานั้น เหล่านักพัฒนาคงตื่นตัวและโหลดตัว SDK มาลองกันอย่างบ้าคลั่งแล้ว บางคนอาจจะกำลังวางแผนซื้อ Android phone มาใช้กันด้วยซ้ำ

ว่าแต่บางคนอาจสังเกตว่า…

เฮ้ย! ทำไมใช้แค่ Flash Professional CS5 สร้างได้อย่างเดียวอ้ะ!?

เอาแหล่ว ทำไม Flash Builder 4 สร้างไม่ได้หว่า

คำตอบมีอยู่ในตัวมันเองครับ นั่นเป็นเพราะ Flex SDK 4.0 และ Flash Builder 4 ในปัจจุบันนั้นไม่ได้ออกแบบมาเพื่อการ compile ให้เหมาะกับสถาพแวดล้อมของอุปกรณ์พกพา (แรมน้อย CPU ต่ำ) มันจึงเหมาะกับ Desktop และ Web application มากกว่าเป็นไหนๆ

แต่นักพัฒนาคนไหนใช้เป็นแต่ Flash Builder 4 ก็อย่าเพิ่งน้ำตาไหลพรากๆ

Adobe เขาไม่ใจร้ายขนาดนั้นครับ

เพราะจริงๆ แล้ว Adobe ก็กำลังซุ่มสร้าง Flex SDK สำหรับ mobile โดยเฉพาะ ชื่อโครงการว่า “Slider” รายละเอียดหาดูได้ใน lab ของพวกเขาครับ

เป็นไงครับ? ไม่ร้องแล้วนะ

แต่ส่วนตัวผมใช้ Flash professional CS5 แล้ว ปัญหาน้อยลงเพราะ code hinting ที่แหละ

สวัสดีครับ ที่เห็นผมไม่ได้เขียน blog ช่วงนี้ ก็เพราะกำลังเหวี่ยงงาน (เหวี่ยงครับ เหวี่ยงให้มันตาย ) ตัว Multi-touch application อยู่ตัวหนึ่ง และก็กำลังเขียนหนังสือ Flash builder 4 ภาษาไทย (ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากอาจาร์ย Apichai แห่ง Think.co.th) ทำให้ไม่มีเวลามาเขียน blog ใหม่ๆ เลย แต่ตอนนี้พอเริ่มมีเวลาก็กลับมาเขียนหาพวกเราทุกคนอีกครั้ง

ต่อไปพวกมันจะมาอยู่ในนี้ แฮ่ม!

จากที่จั่วหัวเอาไว้อย่างนี้ เป็นเพราะกระแสหนึ่งในโลก IT อย่างเราๆ คือการมาถึงของยุค tablet, Multi-touch device และ eMagazine ที่มีความเป็นไปได้สูงว่าต่อไปเราจะอ่านหนังสือจากอุปกรณ์พกพาบางๆ อย่าง tablet ทั่วไปอย่าง iPad, Windows Slate และ Android Tablet กัน ซึ่งการซื้อหาหนังสือมาไว้ (อย่างถูกกฏหมาย อะแฮ่ม) ก็คงไม่พ้นการซื้อจากร้านค้าหนังสือดิจิตอล ซึ่งทุกคนคงได้ยินเรื่องของ iBook Store ที่เปิดตัวพร้อมกับ iPad และ Google Editions ซึ่งกำลังเป็นข่าวครึกโครมที่อยู่ต่างประเทศในตอนนี้

น่าสนใจตรงไหน?

ที่น่าสนใจจริงๆ ก็คือ ด้วยลักษณะของ App Store ของ Apple ที่เน้นให้ผู้สร้าง (โปรแกรมเมอร์และนักพัฒนาซอฟต์แวร์) สามารถจำหน่ายผลิตภัณฑ์ของเขาได้โดยไม่ต้องผ่านเครือข่ายผู้จัดจำหน่ายอย่างแต่ก่อน (เพราะ Apple คือผู้จัดจำหน่ายไปแล้ว :p ) ด้วยลักษณะเดียวกันนี้เป็นไปได้ไหมว่า ต่อไปนักเขียนสามารถจัดจำหน่ายหนังสือ และความคิดสร้างสรรค์ผ่านร้านหนังสือออนไลน์เหล่านี้ โดยอาจจะถูกหักค่าหัวคิวไป 30% ของราคาขาย โดยนักเขียนเพียงซื้อ software ที่สามารถ “ตีพิมพ์” งานของตัวเองเป็นรูปแบบไฟล์ที่ร้านออนไลน์เหล่านี้ยอมรับเท่านั้นเอง

ต่อไปการเขียนหนังสือขายจะง่ายขึ้น

เฮ้ย เข้าท่านี่! แล้วมันจะเกิดอะไรตามมาหรอ?

การมาถึงของร้านขายหนังสือดิจิตอลจะเกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงดังนี้

ร้านหนังสือปัจจุบันจะสมัครใช้บริการของร้านค้าหนังสือดิจิตอล เพื่อนำหนังสือของตัวเองเปลี่ยนเป็น digital ไฟล์ และยื้อฐานลูกค้าเก่าไว้ โดยจะเปิดให้นักเขียนสามารถ publish ผ่าน channel ของร้านหนังสือที่สมัครไว้
นักเขียนจะเกิดขึ้นมากมาย และอย่างรวดเร็ว เหมือนกับการพิมพ์รายงานใน Microsoft Word การเขียนจะเป็นงานง่าย และมีแรงจูงใจสูง เพราะช่องทางจัดจำหน่ายง่ายขนาดนั้นแล้ว การร่ำรวยในวงการนักเขียนจะเกิดขึ้นเร็วเหมือนกับที่เกิดขึ้นกับ นักพัฒนาที่ขายโปรแกรมให้ App Store มาแล้ว
การจับกลุ่มกันเป็น publisher ขนาดเล็กใหม่ๆ จะเกิดขึ้น สืบเนื่องจากข้อที่แล้ว แน่นอนว่านักเขียนเขาไม่ได้บู๊โชว์เดี่ยว การตรวจอักษร และฝ่ายออกแบบยังไม่หายไปไหน แต่คนกลุ่มนี้จะแตกตัวเป็นอิสระ เพื่อสร้างผลงานด้วยความคิดสร้างสรรค์ของตัวเอง เหมือนกับ J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter and the blah blah blah) ที่เขียนหนังสือจากบ้านของเธอ แต่คราวนี้ส่งตรงถึงแผงหนังสือเลย

จากทั้งหมดที่กล่าวมานี้ เป็นการเปลี่ยนแปลงใหม่ในโลกของการทำหนังสือ ส่วนการใช้กระดาษจะหมดไปหรือไม่นั้น ตอนนี้ก็ยังตอบไม่ได้ แต่การมาถึงของยุคใหม่ จะต้องเกิดปรากฎการณ์อย่างเช่น “นิทานภาพเด็กไทย ขายได้ 4,000,000 ชุดทั่วโลกผ่าน ….” อย่างแน่นอน
