On Break...

I am so sorry for such a long absence guys, but I do have to mention that this is likely to continue. I have been working very hard lately, saving for some super awesome plans, and in the mean time I lost my will to write.

At the moment, Tegania's Thoughts is going to remain on break. All posts will still be here, but I won't be posting anything new for a little while. I am planning to create a few new recipes for The Nourishment Blog, and I will post some natural beauty stuff up on there as well. Other than that, I am still chilling out.

Apologies, and thank you very much for reading over the years. You have all been all levels of awesome. xx

Australis Multi Mega Lash Masara {Review}

Guys, I am so sorry for the silence around here lately! It's been absolutely deafening! Very sorry about all of that, but I have been so stupidly busy lately, and I have been working on a huge project which has been taking a lot of my creative energy. It is amazing, but it does mean that my posting has slipped to essentially nothing, so sorry about that! I will do my best to try and get a post up here once a fortnight, but no promises ;)

I did want to tell you about this mascara though. I have been absolutely loving it, although we got off to a little bit of a rocky start. Rocky start because when I bought it, I was under the impression that it would be a bit of a volume boosting mascara, due to the 'mega' in the name. I applied it, all ready for results similar to Australis Voluptulash, and felt all disappointed when I saw my eyelashes. Man, my eyelashes were so defined, and it looked like I had 700 000 eyelashes, but when you are expecting one look and receive another you get a little disappointed, don't you.

Never fear, once I realised that this mascara is actually more of a defining and multiplying mascara I fell straight in love. The enormous brush has an excellent ability to pick up even your smallest lashes, which is awesome. Plus, it is a tubey mascara (like Voluptulash and Killer Curves) which is my absolute favourite type, because it means you can cry/swim/have a water fight and know that your mascara is going to stay completely still (until you accidentaly rub your eyes, that is!).

Oh yes, and it will absolutely last you through a work day, due to the tubey formulation.

Just goes to show, doesn't it, that sometimes you need to look past first impressions.

Kosmea Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil {Review}

Rose hip oil is an absolute staple in my skincare routine. I have previously written a lot about a few of my favourite brands of Rosehip oil (check out the buyers guide to rosehip oil (including Trilogy and Moo Goo review, and the Akin rose hip oil review), so I won't repeat much of that information. No point, just go check out the links ;).

Firstly though, the Kosmea Rose Hip Oil is a great addition to your skincare arsenal. Rosehip oil contains heaps of essential fatty acids and anti-oxidants, perfect for hydrating, protecting and restoring your skin. You know that you are on to a winner with rose hip oil if the oil is bright orange, and the Kosmea Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil is the brightest orange I have seen! This means there is still plenty of Beta Carotene enclosed in the oil, which is the precursor to vitamin A, and a pretty important anti-oxidant.

Secondly, I like the luxe gold packaging. It is really cute. It feels a little fancy whenever you pick up the bottle, but gold does that to a person.

This rosehip oil also feels quite thick and rich for a rosehip oil, which is lovely, It soaks in amazingly to the skin, and feels extremely nourishing, which is perfect for these cooler winter months.

All in all, the Kosmea Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil is another Kosmea product that gets a big tick from me!

Go-To Skincare Very Useful Face Cream {Review}

Go-To Skincare's Very Useful Face Cream is indeed very useful. In fact, it's usefulness might be off the charts. My poor, sensitive, incredibly dry skin just drinks it up, and I have been enjoying using a moisturiser that provides enough moisture, without leaving a thick, greasy film on my skin.
You require more details about why it is so awesome? Well, if you insist.

Firstly, it is incredibly hydrating. This is due to the addition of shea butter, sweet almond oil, almond kernel extract, avocado oil, and mango butter.

Secondly, it contains a huge wack of anti-oxidants, which are important for their job in preventing ageing. Very Useful Face Cream contains amla berry, which contains super charged amounts of anti-oxidants. Plus, it also contains Coenzyme Q10, which has been linked to a reduction in existing sun damage in your skin, as well as helping to stimulate collagen production (collagen is responsible for keeping your skin nice and firm).

Thirdly, it feels nice on your skin. It is quite a thick cream, but once spread onto your skin it soaks right in and doesn't leave any unpleasant greasy feeling. Fourthly, it has a light pleasant scent, which is soft and not in the slightest way over powering.

Finally, it works! My skin has been absolutely loving this, and it has been protecting my skin from the attack of the ol' winter dries that it usually falls prey to around this time of year. Plus, I haven't had any breakouts or adverse reactions from it either. This is truthfully probably due to the absence of any of the nasties that my sensitive skin normally reacts to. Hurrah!

Final word: this is probably a handy little product for your skincare regime. Just saying.

Kosmea Rose Hand Cream

A good hand cream is a must for winter - even a mild Queensland winter like the one I am currently enjoying. Hands are one of the first things to feel the cold, and the minute that you notice your cuticles getting a little ripped up and sore it is important to sort it out - the worse it gets, the more pain your little fingers can be in!

I was recently sent this hand cream to try, and as I have been incredibly busy lately I threw it in my travel bag as my emergency hand cream. Lucky, because it has definitely come in handy! *Pun not intended, but I like it*.

Firstly, this hand cream does it's primary job, and it does it well. It is incredibly moisturising, due in part to the addition of rose hip oil, shea butter, jojoba oil, vitamin E and aloe vera. All those nasty cuticles and dry scaly patches on your hands get nipped in the bud pretty quickly with this cream. It also contains white tea extract, which Kosmea states 'protects against the signs of ageing'. Something anti-ageing? Count me in!

I also love that it soaks in very easily, and dries quickly. That is a huge positive for me, because I hate greasy paws touching anything, so a hand cream that virtually leaves no trace that it is working is a hand cream I want to be using. That trace that it does leave however? It comes in the form of an absolutely gorgeous scent, so I am not worried about that. The rose scent of this product is strong, but I don't feel it is overpowering.

All in all, this is a pretty damn great hand cream. I honestly don't have a single negative. I am massive fan of this hand cream, and it is definitely going to be on high rotation throughout winter.
