India freed itself from the British rule in the year 1947. The very first Prime Minister of free India wrote in his diary:

“At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance….. We end today a period of ill fortune, and India discovers herself again.”

It is the day to salute our Freedom Fighters, We offer our sincere thanks to all known and unknown martyrs.Their sacrifices always inspire us.

“If there is one place on the face of earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India!” –French scholar Romaine Rolland

India, also known as Bharat, is a Union of States. It is a Sovereign Socialist Secular Democratic Republic with a parliamentary system of government. The Republic is governed in terms of the Constitution of India which was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 26th November 1949 and came into force on 26th January 1950.

The Constitution provides for a Parliamentary form of government which is federal in structure with certain unitary features. The constitutional head of the Executive of the Union is the President. As per Article 79 of the Constitution of India, the council of the Parliament of the Union consists of the President and two Houses known as the Council of States (Rajya Sabha) and the House of the People (Lok Sabha). Article 74(1) of the Constitution provides that there shall be a Council of Ministers with the Prime Minister as its head to aid and advise the President, who shall exercise his functions in accordance to the advice. The real executive power is thus vested in the Council of Ministers with the Prime Minister as its head.

Every State has a Legislative Assembly. Certain States have an upper House also called State Legislative Council. There is a Governor for each state who is appointed by the President. Governor is the Head of the State and the executive power of the State is vested in him. The Council of Ministers with the Chief Minister as its head advises the Governor in the discharge of the executive functions. The Council of the Ministers of a state is collectively responsible to the Legislative Assembly of the State.

The Constitution distributes legislative powers between Parliament and State legislatures as per the lists of entries in the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution. The residuary powers vest in the Parliament. The centrally administered territories are called Union Territories.

The Indian military currently employs some 1,325,000 Regular troops, 1,155,000 Reserve troops and 1,293,300 Paramilitary troops (total of 3,773,300 troops), thus giving India the third-largest standing military in the world as of 2006 after the People’s Republic of China. Auxiliary services include the Indian Coast Guard, the Central Paramilitary Forces (CPF) and the Strategic Forces Command. India’s official defense budget stands at $32 billion USD[2] but the actual spending on the armed forces is estimated to be much higher than that. Undergoing rapid expansion and modernization, the Indian Armed Forces plans to have an active military space program and is currently developing a missile defense shield and nuclear triad capability. The Armed Forces of India possess nuclear weapons and operate short and intermediate-range ballistic missiles as well as nuclear-capable aircraft, and naval vessels.

As the world increasingly acknowledges India’s rising power status, India is adapting its foreign policy to meet the international challenges of the 21st century and to increase its global influence and status. For many years, India took pride in its role as leader of the Non-Aligned Movement and viewed itself as the primary defender of the rights of the less developed countries. In the past few years, New Delhi has expanded its strategic vision, most noticeably in Asia, and has broadened the definition of its security interests.

While India has focused special attention on cultivating ties to the United States since 2000, the overall thrust of its foreign policy has been to seek geopolitical partnerships in multiple directions to serve its national interests. It has pursued special relationships with the U.S., Russia, China, and key European countries.

Since its Independence,India is Progressing towards a bright Future with a Powerful thrust backed by its ever Expanding strong Economy & the Will of more that 1.6 Billion Determined Indians.

The Indian Industries are becoming Stronger by the day.India, which used to boycott Foreign made goods to Protect its Industries has now Liberalised & Globalised the Indian Economy.Indian Companies today are so strong that they are buying/taking over Foreign Companies, whose goods & commodities were once boycotted!

With an Average GDP of around 8.5 % & increasing,India is now been recognised as a strong Economic & Military power not only in Asia, but the World!

With Development & Advancement in all Sectors at a rapid pace,India is set to be the World’s Super Power in the near Future.Driven by more than 1.5 billion Indian Dreams & home for the Second Largest Army, the Third Largest Navy & the Fourth Largest Air Force in the World,India is a Super power to be Reconned with!!

A second series began broadcasting in April 2009. A third and final series was broadcast from 2 April to 21 May 2010 on BBC One and BBC HD.

Ashes to Ashes features DCI Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister) from Life on Mars. He is joined by an experienced female detective and trained psychologist from the 21st century, DI Alex Drake (Keeley Hawes), who wakes up in 1981 after being shot in 2008. She concludes that she is either a second away from life, or a second away from death. Also reappearing are Chris Skelton (Marshall Lancaster) and Ray Carling (Dean Andrews). All have transferred to the Metropolitan Police in London, and Chris and Ray remain loyal to Gene. Augmenting the team is WPC Sharon ‘Shaz’ Granger (Montserrat Lombard).

DCI Gene Hunt is back, but he’s no longer the self-styled “Sheriff of Manchester.” Flanked by his faithful sidekicks, Ray Carling and Chris Skelton, and drawn by the action and intrigue of the London Met, Gene’s turned his attentions to taking on the “southern nancy” criminal scum. However, Gene did not expect to be thrown together with a sexy, intelligent DI Alex Drake. Single mother to daughter Molly, Alex has rapidly risen through the ranks of the Met and, in the modern world of 2008, skilfully uses psychological profiling to capture suspects. When Alex and her daughter are kidnapped, she makes a daring attempt at escape, resulting in a horrific incident. Alex suddenly finds herself in 1981, interacting with familiar characters, not just from her own lifetime, but also from the detailed reports logged by none other than Sam Tyler, which Alex previously spent months poring over. Alex is ripped from her current world of sexual equality and respect in 2008, and finds herself opposite an arrogant DCI, in a two-tone, “New Romantic” ’80s London with a soundtrack of Adam Ant, Roxy Music, and the Human League ringing in her ears. Alex finds that some of Gene’s team has dispersed, yet others, loyal as ever, are still in tow. Now a technological whiz kid in the squad’s surveillance team, DC Chris Skelton has clearly moved with the times, along with a tight-permed DS Ray Carling, who’s keen to experience London’s nightlife. Frustrated by each other’s stubbornness, the friction between Alex and Gene heats up. However, as the two titans collide, it becomes apparent that there is more than just a professional tension emerging.

Life on Mars tells the fictional story of Sam Tyler (John Simm), a police officer in service with the Greater Manchester Police. After being hit by a car in 2006, Tyler awakes in 1973 and finds himself working for the predecessor of the GMP, the Manchester and Salford Police at the same station and location as in 2006. Early on in the series, it becomes apparent to Tyler that he awakes as a Detective Inspector, one rank lower than his 2006 rank of Detective Chief Inspector. As part of the CID, Tyler finds himself working under the command of Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister).

The methodology and techniques of modern policing that Sam Tyler employs during Life on Mars leads him to frequently clash with other characters. Gene Hunt and the rest of the CID are displayed to favour brutality and corruption in order to secure convictions, shown by their willingness to physically coerce confessions and fabricate evidence. Throughout both series, Tyler clashes with Hunt the most frequently, usually because Tyler values forensic evidence whereas Hunt often resorts to traditional methods and in one episode where doubt is cast over a number of people goes on the assumption of “the first to speak is guilty”.

Sam describes Hunt as an: “overweight, over-the-hill, nicotine-stained, borderline alcoholic homophobe with a superiority complex and an unhealthy obsession with male bonding”. Hunt is supported by his fiercely loyal subordinates, Chris Skelton and Ray Carling, with the latter displayed to be a similar character to Hunt. Ray and Sam are often seen to disagree with each other, as well as Sam and Gene’s love-hate relationship.[26] Chris, in contrast, becomes friendly with Sam and respects his modern methods, finding his loyalty torn between both Gene and Sam.[27]

Due to Sam’s predicament, he avoids revealing how he thinks he may have travelled back in time for fear of others thinking him to be insane. The only person in 1973 who Sam fully reveals his story to is Annie Cartwright, who it is revealed later married him during the time between Life on Mars set in 1973 and Ashes to Ashes in 1981. According to Liz White, the actress who played Cartwright, “She gets very tired of his constant talk about how this situation is not real, that they are all figments of his imagination — she can only explain it as psychological trauma from his car crash.”

Throughout the two series, the central plot centres on the ambiguity concerning Tyler’s predicament of it being unclear to both the audience and the character whether he has died, gone mad, is in a coma or has actually travelled back in time.It has been rated as the best cop show on TV since the 70′s.

Producer Rhea Kapoor and director Rajshree Ojha’s Aisha is a charmer for so many reasons. First and foremost, the film completely dazzles you with its style quotient. Truly, this must be one of the most exquisitely crafted films to sashay down Bollywood’s boulevard in the non-action genre.

Jane Austen’s nineteenth century England has been adapted very well to super swish south Dilli. The Movie Reflects the concerns and cruel intentions of all cool twenty-somethings who wear their attitude on their sleeves and look down on lesser-turned-out mortals.

The story is set in present day New Delhi where the essence is intact and virgin. Unlike all other love stories which on a large scale are melodramatic, Aisha successfully manages to convey the message without any hint of being a tearjerker.Although Aisha lacks that depth which would make it peppy, it certainly is not a chick flick. It can be enjoyed by people from both the sexes with that bucket of popcorn. Perhaps the writer and the director tried to make something lighter, which would make the movie digestible and easy to enjoy.

Set in Kashmir, the film is a story about an army officer, played by Sanjay Dutt, and his love interest, played by Bipasha Basu, in the midst of the various issues that Kashmir had faced over the years. It also features Anupam Kher and Kunal Kapoor in supporting roles.

International viewer reviews describe it as an below average Bollywood crime drama served in the name of Kashmir.Although the movie to a certain extent manages to describe the hard life & sufferings faced by Indians in Kashmir due to its proximity to the LOC & the affect of Violent Extremists & Separatists,it has failed to show the true picture/the realty of kashmir & its issues. The Movie also seems to neglect the Good part of Kashmir which is very beautiful , blossming with love & Affection & attracts many Tourists to this heavenly place on earth.

But for those who have taste for a little bit of action, secrecy & Conspiracies, the movie is worth watching.

You guys like Sci-Fi Mind Boggling Movies & have a desire to know the Future?Well,in that case,Inception should be your choice.

The Inception unfolds is a near-future setting in which devices have been invented that allow individuals to invade the dreams of others and, if they’re clever and experienced enough, extract secrets revealed by way of the subject’s subconscious. One of the best such thieves is Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio), who is being recruited for a job by corporate magnate Saito (Ken Watanabe) after failing in an espionage attempt to steal one of Saito’s secrets. At first, Cobb isn’t interested, but then Saito offers a carrot that Cobb can’t refuse: the opportunity for past crimes to be forgiven -- something that would allow him to return to the United States and see his two young children. The nature of Cobb’s infractions is not immediately revealed, but they involve his wife (Marion Cotillard). What Saito wants is not an ordinary request.nstead of asking for an extraction, he demands an inception -- the implantation of an idea deep in the subconscious that will bear future results. Most dream thieves consider this impossible, but Cobb disagrees, because he has done it. It’s risky and dangerous, but possible. The target is Robert Fischer Jr. (Cillian Murphy), who has just inherited the corporate empire built by his father (Pete Posthelthwaite). Cobb assembles his team, beginning with his frequent compatriot, Arthur (Joseph-Gordon Levitt). Together, they recruit an “architect” -- the individual who builds the dream worlds. She is Ariadne (Ellen Page), a student studying under the tutelage of Cobb’s father-in-law (Michael Caine). After Ariadne undergoes her training (which serves as a tutorial for the audience, as well), the final two members are brought on board: Eames (Tom Hardy), who can impersonate anyone in a dream, and Yusef (Dileep Rao), a chemist whose drugs can keep sleepers sedated or bring them back to wakefulness. Together with Fischer and Saito, these five travel into a dream-within-a-dream-within-a dream where, three levels deep, they attempt the inception.
Christopher Nolan has always been something of a mad-scientist filmmaker, mixing together seemingly incongruous elements from different genres to create dazzling concoctions like Memento, The Prestige, Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight. He continues his genre-splicing tradition with his ambitious new opus Inception, an engrossing head-trip that might be labeled an existential sci-fi heist flick. But that would be oversimplifying things.

The special effects in Inception serve the story, rather than the other way around -- which is a rare occurrence these days, when the emphasis seems to be on providing viewers with visual amusement park rides. In Inception we are presented with cities where streets defy gravity by arching overhead and massive cliffs that collapse into the sea. There is a point to everything, most often to illustrate how dreams distort the commonplace into something that defies the natural laws.

Inception is a colossal piece of work, not only as a storytelling marvel, but also as a technical achievement. It’s so rare these days that we, the moviegoers, get to experience something wholly original. Just don’t miss it for anything.

Evelyn Salt (Jolie) is a C.I.A. officer who is amazing at her job. She has done everything to protect the United States. One day, as she is leaving work to go home to her husband for their anniversary, a strange man walks into the C.I.A. offices with an extremely odd accusation about Salt. As she and her partner, Ted Winter (Schreiber), sit around to hear him talk, things start to get a little crazy. This man, who is considered a defector, claims that Evelyn is actually a Russian spy who has been planted in the United States to kill the President. Salt freaks out, thinking that this can’t be true, and makes a run for it. Ted is on her side at first, but as the counter-intelligence officer Peabody (Ejiofor) steps in, he starts to realize that Evelyn could actually be a Russian spy. Her actions of running away are not helping her but she wants to make sure that her husband is safe, even if that means risking her life. As the movie goes on, we learn more and more about who Salt really is. The question is whether or not she can prove her innocence before being captured.

Jolie has finally bridged that gap where one is able to look at her character as an action star, rather than a female or male. Every performance in the film is strong from Jolie to the amazingly talented actors, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Liev Schrieber.

It’s well-known that Jolie wasn’t the first choice to star in Salt, joining the project only after Tom Cruise dropped out, citing the story’s growing similarities to the Mission: Impossible films. But she’s more than just a capable replacement; she’s a welcome upgrade over Cruise, not least because she’s over a decade younger (and a few inches taller), than her predecessor. Should Brad Bird require a pinch-hitter for Ethan Hunt, he knows where to look.

There are now new records indicating that Pakistan is indeed using the Military & Financial Aid allotted to it by the Unites States against India instead of using it for the ongoing War on Terror in the Tribal Areas of Pakistan.

Pakistan army has been diverting a large part of US funds meant for the global war on terrorism for conventional weapon procurements from China and other countries. This illegal diversion of US provided funds, far more than what is known in public, is resulting in massive modernisation of Pakistan military beyond its official means, believes the Indian security establishment.

The Indian side conveyed its serious concerns over the aid to Pakistan being misused against it and asked the US to establish a “monitoring mechanism” to prevent it.

Pakistan has, over past several decades, been using terrorists as a strategic tool against India to achieve its goals in Kashmir, several American experts have told a powerful Congressional panel, warning the US against mediating between the two nations on the issue.

The Unites States has showed concerns over the misuse of its Funds, but, seem to be reluctant in stopping the flow of funds to Pakistan. Many believe that the United States already knew about the intentions of Pakistan regarding what they were to do if suck large funds were provided to them.

However, the main point of concern is that Billions of Dollars worth Military & Financial aid is being wasted instead of replenishing the exausted Nato & Counter Terrorism forces in the North Western Frontier of Pakistan & mainly Afghanistan.

Moreover, the ever growing close ties between China & Pakistan is increasing concerns in Unites States & India as to the re-emergence of Communism in South-East Asia & can eventually lead to a setback to Democracy & Unites States’ Foreign Diplomatic policy in South-East Asia.

Concerns of India were shared with the US during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s US visit in April. This issue formed a substantial part of the conversation between the two sides. Officials later said US President Barack Obama had committed to Singh that security assistance to Pakistan would be monitored and kept under closer observation.Pakistan has received at least $18 billion (approximately Rs 90,000 crore) under various US assistance and allowance programmes. At least one assessment by the Indian security establishment says the Pakistan army may have diverted as much as $14 billion for weapons purchases meant for a military conflict with India.

“Over the last many years Pakistan has been covertly supporting Kashmir terrorist groups – now they’re called Punjabi terrorist groups – to harass India in Kashmir.Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad are some of these groups. Indians regard them as just as much a terrorist group as al Qaeda, and certainly the horrific attack at Mumbai is evidence of that,” said Wendy Chamberlin, president of the prestigious Middle East Institute and former US Ambassador to Pakistan.

According to estimates from Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Pakistan has bought $2.1 billion worth of arms from China and $746 million worth from France among others. Including from the US, Pakistan has imported $5.2 billion worth of arms between 2001 and 09. A senior Indian official said that seemed to be far below what had really happened, especially on the Chinese front.

If this situation is not dealth with Properly, then we might see another Era of Cold War emerging & the Rise of Terrorism all over the World.
