The T-90  is designed and built by Uralvagonzavod, in Nizhny Tagil, Russia.The T-90 is the modernized version of the T-72 Main Battle Tank,which is very well known for its agility,speed & Firepower.The T-90 is the a Russian third-generation main battle tank originally titles as the T-72BU,later renamed as the T-90.

The Secondary Armament consists of 7.62 mm PKT coaxial machine gun, 12.7 mm NSV anti-aircraft gun, and a  12.7 mm Kord machine gun.

Like other modern Russian tanks the 2A46M in the T-90 is fed by an automatic loader which removes the need for a manual loader in the tank and reduces the crew to 3 (commander, gunner, and driver). The autoloader can carry 22 ready-to-fire rounds in its carousel and can load a round in 5–8 seconds.It has been suggested that the automatic loaders on modern T-90 tanks have been modified to take advantage of newer ammunition such as the 3BM-44M APFSDS, which like the US M829A3 penetrates armour better than the previous shorter rounds. HEAT rounds that can be fired from the 2A46M includes the 3BK21B (with a Depleted uranium liner), 3BK29 (with a credited penetration of 800 mm RHA equivalency), and the 3BK29M (with a Triple-tandem charge warhead). Additionally the T-90 features the Ainet fuse setting system which allows the tank to detonate 3OF26 HE-FRAG rounds at a specific distance from the tank as determined by the gunners laser rangefinder, improving it’s performance against helicopters and infantry.

The different variants of the T-90s host an range of Armour like Steel-composite-reactive blend vs APFSDS: 545 mm + 250-280mm with Kontakt-5 = 800-830mm; vs HEAT: 650 mm + 500-700mm with Kontakt-5 = 1,150-1,350mm.

The T 90 s have an excellent range of 550–650 km (340–400 mi) (depending on type of engine) with a good speed of 60–65 km/h (37–40 mph) (depending on type of engine).The T-72 s are already known for their high speeds and are claimed as Flying tanks as they are the fastest Battle Tanks around.

The gunner is also provided with the 1G46 day sighting system which includes a laser range finder, missile guidance channel and allows tank-sized targets to be detected and engaged at 5 to 8 kilometres (3.1 to 5.0 mi). The driver users a TVN-5 day and night sight. In 2010, Russia started licensed production of Thales-developed Catherine FC thermal imaging cameras for T-90M tanks, a Russian daily said.These thermal imagers are also present on T-90M “Bhishma” build in India under license.

US President Barack Obama signed a Bill into law late last month empowering US authorities to impose penalties on foreign banks dealing with the Central Bank of Iran to settle oil import payments.

Iran has threatened to block oil deliveries through the Strait of Hormuz if sanctions are imposed on the country’s oil industry over its nuclear activities. The US Energy Information Administration estimates that the strait carries about 20 per cent of all oil traded worldwide.India gets about three-quarters of its crude needs through imports and Iran is its second-largest supplier after Saudi Arabia. The European Union has also agreed in-principle to ban imports of Iranian crude oil to the EU.

Six Gulf nations, including Saudi Arabia and Iran, supply 58 per cent of India’s total annual consumption of 163.59 million tons of crude. The closure by Iran, may also hinder the 7.5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas that Qatar ships through tankers each year to India.

However,The Indian Government is optimistic that there would be no impediments to importing Iranian oil despite a new wave of sanctions imposed by the West.”As long as there are no sanctions on oil as such, other problems can be managed .There are some practical problems in making payments but we have managed to surmount those problems”Oil Minister S.Jaipal Reddy commented.

The U.S., Britain and Canada announced new measures against Iran’s energy and financial sectors last month and France proposed “unprecedented” new sanctions, including freezing the assets of its central bank and suspending purchases of its oil.Mr.Reddy declined to comment on whether India would buy more Iranian oil if the European Union bans imports, or whether India was in talks with Saudi Arabia about fall back supplies if Iran crude stops coming, saying both were “hypothetical” situations.

It seems that MINI does not intend to introduce Diesel Variants of their models anytime soon in India.However,they have assured that all the models will come equipped with 6-speed automatic transmissions .Of the 4 models,the Mini Countryman seems to be suitable for the inhospitable Indian roads.

Similar to the Vento ,you do have the option of buying the petrol powered Rapid with a 6-speed auto instead of the 5-speed manual ‘boxes that are available on both.

It’s a good car,provided you choose the Diesel variant,comfortable Automatic transmission with modes to suit your style of driving.As the Name Skoda,lives up to its expectations of a comfy ride and quality handling.built quality is good.Does have some advantages when compared with Volkswagen’s Vento.

However,you don’t get auto-transmission in the Diesel variant.Lets be frank,For that price in the Indian market,we”d expect more Technical features and electronics on the dash board like steering mounted controls, USB stereo, parking sensors etc.Skoda after sales service is a bit on the down side.

To end with,the Skoda Rapid is certainly a good car for the European Market with upgraded features.It does compete with the Vento.But it is a Doubltful whether it can cheer the Sedan Buying  masses in India.It certainly stands no chance in terms of technical features provided my Auto majors like Suzuki,TATA, at lesser prices.Nonetheless,It is a good  Choice when considering premium Sedans in India.
 

The plan is to transfer 500MW through the Punjab border with the tariff linked to the market rate. In addition, talks are in progress to build a 200-km pipeline originating from the Bathinda refinery to move surplus diesel from India to Pakistan.

So far, QFIs(Qualified Foreign Investors) were permitted to invest only in mutual fund schemes. “As a next logical step, it has now been decided to allow QFIs to directly invest in the Indian equity market in order to widen the class of investors, attract more foreign funds and reduce market volatility and to deepen the Indian capital market,” the finance ministry said.The Finance Minister Mr.Pranab Mukherjee expressed that the steps that the government is taking should hopefully help restore some confidence in the market.

Now,as QFIs can directly invest in Indian equity market, the class of investors will be widened. More Investments into the Indian equity markets are expected.The Govt. hopes to rope in more funds with this move which may play a key role in stabilizing the Current highly fluctuation markets  and bring a Progressive growth to the Indian Markets and appreciation of the Rupee.
