Lenovo Smart Band comes with a 0.9 inch OLED display, it will display steps taken,, calories burned, heart rate, and other notifications when paired with a smartphone. It is compatible with both Android and iOS platforms. The band can be used to control music on your phone or take photos.

The smart band is IP65 certified that means comes with water and dust proof. According to Lenovo the band strap is made from high-quality Silicon material that is skin friendly and is high;y resistant to abrasions.

HW01 sleep monitor will give you accurate sleep patterns, it will tell you how good your sleep is and how often you wakeup. The band will record heart rate every 15 minutes and the fitness tracker can alert the user when the heart rate increases to a thresold set.

Anti sleep mode alerts users when they fall asleep outside of their designated sleep cycle. “This mode alerts you of concentration loss or dozing while driving or working at night.”

The activity tracker from Lenovo will alert users of calls, texts and social media notifications. It comes with 85mAh of battery that will allow it to operate for 5 days on a single charge. The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 gives 20 days of battery life on a single charge.

The Lenovo Smart Band HW01 is available exclusively at Flipkart with a price tag of Rs 1999.

The app is lightweight and works on older Android devices too, this is important because lot of older budget Android phones from the likes of Micromax and others were left behind without upgrades, so this app may be good for those users. Skype is definitely not battery friendly and and the Skype Lite app addresses this, it uses less battery according to Skype. Video calls use lot of mobile data, Skype Lite comes with a reduced data usage mode that saves data while making video calls.

Skype Lite also works with SMS messages. The app is optimized for 2G or unstable network connections. Skype Lite is available in Indian languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. It also comes with chat bots designed exclusively for India.

Skype Lite also integrated Aadhaar identification into the app, users can easily verify the other person before making a conversation. It’s use has been demonstrated with a remote interview call on stage.

The Zenfone 3S Max sports metal based unibody design, a fingerprint scanner is embedded in the home button conveniently. On the front it sports a 5.2 inch display with IPS panel at HD resolution. The fingerprint sensor supports up to five fingers and can be unlocked in 0.5 sec according to Asus. It is powered by a MediaTek 64bit 1.5GHz Octa-core processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM. The internal storage is pegged at 32GB and you can expand it upto 2TB using an expternal SD card Asus claims, Don’t ask us where to get these memory cards we have no clue:).

In the camera department it comes with a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, and dual LED real-tone flash. The dualLED flash will give real skin tone color in the dark with out making it to look like more white. The rear camera also supports 12 modes for different occassions including a super resolution mode at 52MP resolution for taking portraits. It has an 8MP front camera with a wide angle lens for selfies and groupies along with a  beautification mode.

As said the phone comes with a 5000mAh battery that gives atleast 3 days of charge on mixed usage. The phone comes with a Mobile manager app form which you can select five battery modes for saving battery life.

Connectivity options include Bluetoth, Wifi, GPS, 4G, VoLTE and others. Zenfone 3S Max runs on Android 7.0 Nougat along with Zen UI 3.0 loaded on top. Other features include a 5 Magnet Speaker for increased clarity, low noise while listening to music.

Zenfone 3S Max is priced at Rs 14,999 for the Indian market and it will be available through major online retailers starting today.

The files and folders are available locally for editing with just a double click. The feature will work both on the Windows and Mac platform and it will work even if you are not on the latest version of the operating system. The Smart Sync feature is currently available for Business customers through an early access program and in future it will also be available individual customers as well according to Dropbox.

Dropbox Paper Files

Another important announcement today is taking Dropbox Paper out of beta. The Paper app was first announced in 2015 and last August it went in to beta phase. Dropbox is taking paper app out of beta starting today and is available for all users in 21 languages. The app is similar to a word processor, it competes with Google Apps suite and Microsoft 365 suite. The app is in early stage and not in a position to challenge either Google apps or Microsoft apps. But it will still be useful for users who just want to create and do a quick review of the Dropbox stored files. The Paper app allows teams to work on the documents, take notes, add pictures and prepare task lists with due dates for teams. The app will be available on mobile also for iOS and Android along with the desktop version already available. The Paper is not just a word processor but in the presentation mode you can turn the pages into slides for presentations. Excel or spreadsheet type functionality is not available at the moment though. You can try Paper here.

The content on the platform includes Indian movies, TV shows, movies from around the world and Amazon Originals. According to this report from TOI Amazon has set a budget close to ?2000 crore for content in India and has made several deals with the content creators here. The Indian content reportedly includes bollywood movies, original web series an kids shows.

Amazon Prime will give tough competition to its Prime video rivals like Netflix and Hotstar. Amazon Prime is priced at ?499/year as promotional price which is expected to go up for ?999/year. Netflix charges ?500 to ?800/month and Hotstar charges ?199/month, compared to these Amazon Prime is quite cheap and more importantly it includes local content which Netflix lacks. Amazon Prime includes movies from other languages like Telugu, Tamil, Marathi and Bengali.

The commenting system got the major changes, in the next few weeks everyone will get the feature added that allows users to completely turn off comments while adding a post itself. This feature is indeed good for many users who wants to share some pictures which might invite hate speech or bullying. However users can enable the comments on those posts later if they wish so. Another feature allows users to like comments on any post, this will encourage more comments from users and for a healthy discussion. Comment filtering using keywords is already available and with the new tools users will get more control of the commenting feature.

Private account holders always have the ability to accept followers at their will, but once they have accepted a follower there is no way they can remove those users from their follower list. A new feature is being added that will allow users to delete their followers with out notifying them.  There is another interesting feature that allows users to report anonymously about some other users if they are risking their lives or if you think they might self-injure themselves, the blog post says Instagram will connect these users to some organizations which will help them to avoid risks.

The Instant Games is launching in 30 countries starting today and according to Facebook the feature works on newer iOS and Android versions. Starting a game is as easy as it can be, open a chat window with a friend and click the game controller icon which is placed along with the other icons including sticker icon. After finishing the round it will post the score to the conversation so your friends can see the and challenge you with better score.

The initial game set includes 17 instant games titles including Pac-Man, EverWing, Space Invaders, Track & Field 100M, Galaga and many others. Facebook says they will add more titles in the coming future. Facebook is tapping in to its billion of users with the instant games feature, the service is not yet monetized as of now, but Facebook will soon introduce ways to monetize the games to keep the developers happy and increase its own earnings. The games currently do not have any in-app purchases or ads , but soon may include in-app purchases or level upgrades depending on the demand.

Lenovo has launched two variants globally, the India market will see the 3GB RAM/32GB storage model, the other 2GB RAM/ 16GB storage model won’t be available for now. The K6 Power will be available in Silver, Gold and Dark Grey color variants. The K6 Power as the name suggests boasts a bigger battery at 4,000mAh under the hood. The battery will give 649 hours of standby time and 48 hours of voice calls according to Lenovo. It also comes with a reverse charge option with that once can use the smartphone as a power bank.

This Lenovo smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC with Adreno 505GPU. It comes with a 5-inch full HD (1080*1920 pixels) resolution with IPS display. It comes with a 13MP snapper on the reat with a Sony IMX258 sensor, and a front 8 MP camera with Sony IMX219 sensor. K6 Power comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage which can be expanded to 128GB using a micro SD card slot. Connectivity options in the smartphone include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, VoLTE, A-GPS etc.

The Lenovo K6 Power comes in a metal unibody shell and it measures in 141.9x 70.3x 9.3 mm and weighs about 145gms. The smartphone will be available from Flipkart starting from Dec 6th in flash sale. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow version with Vibe UI on top. The Vibe Pure UI comes with some improvements and some pruning to bring it close to Android stock. Some of the features of the UI include App lock using finger print sensor, Dual Apps mode which allows users to use the same app with two accounts on the same phone.

The OnePlus 3T is launching in India on December 2nd. It comes with similar specs as the OnePlus 3 excluding few changes. The new smartphone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, a bigger battery at 3,400mAh and a 16MP front facing camera. It also comes in gun metal color along with 128GB variant.

The OnePlus 3T runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Oxygen OS out of the box, but OnePlus is expected to release a new software update for both OnePlus 3 and 3T before the end of the year that is based on Android Nougat. Other specifications of the smart hone include a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. 64GB and 128GB storage variants, a 16MP rear camera among other things.

With the video streaming feature added users don’t have to wait for the videos to be downloaded before they can be watched.
