The LG GW520, starts where the KS360 left off and offers full touchscreen capabilities on a 2.8" screen and 7.2Mbps HSDPA. The camera got a slight bump to 3 megapixels and of course there's the slide-out QWERTY, which if its predecessor is any indication. Swift, slim and resourceful are three words that accurately describe the new Nokia E72. Nokia's latest full QWERTY smartphone brings a rich mobile email and instant messaging experience right out of the box, making it the ideal device for people that want to be productive in both their personal and professional lives. Building on the formula from the hugely successful Nokia E71, Nokia's best selling QWERTY device to date, this latest arrival in Nokia's Eseries family maintains essential elements of its predecessor, whilst still improving its capabilities in a number of areas. Nokia also upgraded the camera to 5 megapixels and added a standard 3.5 mm audio jack.
On top of these developments, for the first time, owners will be able to set up instant messaging (IM) accounts provided by Nokia Messaging direct from the homescreen. In just a few steps, device owners will be able to connect to their favorite IM accounts such as Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk and Ovi, amongst many others.
These new IM features are complimented by Nokia's range of email solutions with a lifetime license for Nokia's mobile email and IM service, Nokia Messaging, as well as onboard clients for Mail for Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveler. Accessing popular accounts such as Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail, Ovi Mail and thousands of other email service providers is simple through improved on-device email setup, with the same easy to use UI integrating all of the owner's corporate email accounts as well.
Performance improvements are evident throughout the user experience including faster Internet up- and downlink speeds. Other notable features which should make the Nokia E72 as popular as recent Nokia Eseries introductions include A-GPS and compass with integrated Maps, including lifetime walk and 10 days of turn-by-turn navigation if activated within the first three months. Conversations are also clearer with active noise cancellation, and a torch can be activated with a single press of the spacebar key. The office capabilities have been updated with a new version of Quickoffice, which delivers Microsoft Office 2007 compatibility as well as free version upgrades when new features become available.
The Nokia E72 is expected to begin shipping late in the third quarter of 2009 at an estimated retail price of EUR 350 before taxes and subsidies.

Introduction

With the X10 Sony Ericsson have gone from zero to hundred in a split second. While they may know their way around high-end devices, pulling off an undertaking such as the XPERIA X10 must have been a special challenge. And they have yet to get to the finish.The thing is that Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 is the first Android smartphone by Sony Ericsson. It's also a Snapdragon first for the company, and they've even come up with a first of its kind proprietary Android UI. Making the X10 a reality seems like a long way full of potential pitfalls for a company that hasn't still recovered from its financial woes.
But the XPERIA X10 or Rachael, or X3, or whatever it has been called in the long months of development, seems like a device that's worth all the hard work.
Even more so, X10 will not be a solitary device but more of a high-flying start for a full-blown platform of Android devices with their own distinct interface and user experience. That kinda sounds familiar. A year and a half ago, we were again there listening to Sony Ericsson presenting the XPERIA X1 in much the similar words. Well, let's hope they'll have better luck with starting off and developing this new part of their portfolio this time.
We had the pleasure of attending a very limited press event held in London, at which Sony Ericsson presented their latest and greatest before they showcase it for the general public. Much like attending a press-only movie screener we had the opportunity to gather some first-hand impressions of what is probably going to be the Sony Ericsson flagship next year. But before making our first go at the XPERIA X10, let's recap its features.

There have been numerous leaks about the XPERIA X10 so chances are you already know most of those specs well enough. As to the few new ones, let us assure you that some of those came as a surprise to us as well.Take the Android OS version, for instance. Despite all the hopes for getting the latest and greatest of the Android crop, Sony Ericsson are serving a cold meal to all the gadget lovers out there. They refused to comment any further on the matter but perhaps all is not lost. Our best guess is they'll have some hard time adjusting their proprietary UI for Android 2.0 (Eclair) so they prefer to stick to 1.6 for the time being in an effort to get the XPERIA X10 out in the market as soon as possible.
And the current plans for the X10 availability say Q1 2010. Yup, missing the holiday season and shipping the handset during the tight-pocketed January and February is certainly the last thing they'd like to do, but proper product development obviously demands it.
Speaking of which, the Sony Ericsson X10 units presented at the event were devilishly fast in all Android tasks and applications, but the proprietary UI by Sony Ericsson clearly needed a lot more work.
But let's not waste any more time and jump into the physical details of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10.

Introduction / Preview : Apple iPhone 3G S

Apple iPhone 3G S, featuring improved speed and performance—up to twice as fast as iPhone 3G—longer battery life, a high-quality 3 megapixel autofocus camera, easy to use video recording and hands free voice control. iPhone 3G S includes the new iPhone OS 3.0, with over 100 new features such as Cut, Copy and Paste, MMS, Spotlight Search, landscape keyboard and a new Find My iPhone feature that works together with MobileMe to help you locate a lost iPhone. Data speeds are upped to 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, and storage capacity will extended to 32GB as well. Users' can expect a built-in compass, Nike+ support, and a more powerful battery that offers 5 hours of 3G talk time and 9 hours of WiFi internet use. There is a voice control interface that allows voice commands to be understood by the iPhone 3G S. Apple is also touting an oleophobic (fingerprint resistant) coating.
The Apple iPhone 3G S will be available in the US on June 19 for $199 (US) for the 16GB model and just $299 (US) for the new 32GB model.

The 3GS carries over the 3.5’ OLED capacitive touchscreen, but receives a minor upgrade. The screen is now coated with oleophobic material, which makes the phone easier to clean from fingerprints. The rear of the phone remains fragile and we highly recommend a cover of some sort to retain the phone in pristine condition.

Let’s move on the Speed part of the phone, Apple claims up to double the speeds for the phone. And the hardware changes is reportedly from, 412 MHz to the new 600 MHz processor and the 128 RAM is upgraded to 256MB RAM. We’ve noticed that web pages load faster and app launch faster as well.
The SIM tray remains in place, and will require the SIM eject tool should you opt to swap SIM cards. The 3GS has two memory variants, the 16GB and 32GB. Both variants come in black and white.
One of the upgrades received in the 3GS is the increased battery life, Apple claims increased lifespan. The 3GS' rated battery life is 9 hours of Wi-Fi battery life, 10 hours of video playback, 30 hours of audio playback, 12 hours of 2G talk time, and 5 hours of 3G talk time. While, we agree there is a noticeable increase of battery life, it is still a major limitation for the iPhone. Under heavy use, the phone’s battery will not make it past a day. Apple has included a new battery life indicator.
Another notable mention is the new headphones coming with the 3GS, it comes now with an exterior remote- the volume up/down buttons are self explanatory. However, the central button allows more options for your music or audio tracks, click it once- music pauses/plays, click it twice- fast forwards the track and three clicks for rewinding.

The Compass is new addition hardware wise, as there’s a new Magnetometer installed inside the iPhone. Tap the application and a compass with show the bearing, the longitude and the latitude of your position. You can opt for true or magnetic north. Tap the target button in the app and the phone will locate you on Google Maps, tap the target button again and Maps will rotate to show the direction you are facing.

iPhone 3.0 OS
We’ll cover some of the software upgrades available on the 3.0 OS, which sees several taken-for -granted additions to the iPhone. Let’s focus on the new features.
First off is Voice Control. By holding the central button, voice recognition software will allow you to make calls and access music by giving out specific functions. The OS also recognises several languages as well, as long as there is language support.

Copy and paste functionality is another new addition, double tap the available text in the screen. And a tab will come on allow you to copy, cut or paste. There are also grab points which you can extend the highlights to choose what text you want. The 3.0 also sees MMS being included, simply tap messages and paste the appropriate photo. The landscape QWERTY keyboard, which was previously only available on Safari now, extends to emails, text messaging, and notes.

Internet tethering is also available with the device, Maxis supports the data connections, and this essentially turns your iPhone into a modem. All you have to do is to activate the tethering from the settings menu. We highly recommend consulting your data plan before attempting tethering to your PC or laptop.
There’s also a new Spotlight function which act as an internal search. At the home screen, pull to the left and tap in the search term and the phone will narrow down all files and display it here. For the disabled, there are addition options to tweak the phone to either help see or listen better.
Apple’s multitouch UI remains the most important aspect of the phone, pinch and double tapping remains highly intuitive when accessing the phone. The iPod option in the phone allows music and video functionality. The 3.0 OS still retains the applications of the previous iPhones, stocks, maps, weather, clock and notes and calculator.

And of course, the App Store can increase the amount of apps you need or just crave. On that note, iTunes is still officially unavailable in Malaysia, so we hope Apple will give us access to some of that content soon.

Connectivity
The 3GS finally see the bulk of the connectivity options, 3.6 Mbps HSDPA, quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1, although Apple is still locking down the Bluetooth for pairing with Apple headsets only.

Camera
Another upgrade from the 3G is 3.0 megapixel camera with a tap-to-focus function, the picture quality is decent. The tap to focus works very much like an autofocus camera, tap on the closer cup on your desk and the camera will focus into the cup and blur the surrounding objects. If nothing is tapped then the entire frame is focused.
The phone’s camera sees a video recorder option, recording at 30fps. The quality’s decent and allows video editing or trimming as Apple calls it. like copy and paste, there are grab points that can be pulled from one point to the other. However, you can’t cut the middle and paste front and back parts together. The other qualm is your original video capture will be overwritten by the edited video. It is a fun little video editing tool, and should keep video recorders busy.

Verdict
The pricing of the 3GS is premium, using Maxis’ yardstick two-year contract you’ll be paying up to RM 2390 for the phone upfront (which includes a RM400 prepayment), then there’s monthly commitment of RM100 per month for the 32GB variant.
Bottom line, the 3GS didn’t make that technological leap of its predecessors. There are interesting new additions but many of the upgrades are available through the 3.0 OS. The hardware upgrades alone might not warrant an upgrade from the second generation 3G to the third generation 3GS. The lack of Flash remains our biggest qualm, as the Internet feels stifled without it. The pricing remains a huge hurdle and would deter newcomers and iPhone users alike.
However, if you are new to the iPhones then the 3GS is a worthy smartphone to put in your pocket. The iPhone’s UI retains its ease of use, and the phone remains a strong multimedia device. Apple’s App store also gives you an additional option to tweak your software needs.

According to a GSMArena article, SE is about launch a second handset running Symbian S60 touch operated UI. The phone is nicknamed Kurara, and from these screenshot is looks really thin. Aside from full touch, the phone will feature an 8.1 megapixel camera with an AMOLED screen. It will also record HD video
.
The screens have yet to be confirmed, so bust out those salt shakers. Hopefully, it’ll come shortly, stay tuned folks.
