Telenor Connexion enables real-time tracking of loved ones. New smart device called Trax puts parents and pet owners minds at ease.

A concern for parents is making sure their children are where they’re supposed to be. With the new Trax, a tiny and smart GPS tracker locating loved ones, parents minds are put at ease.

WTS has developed one of the smallest real time GPS trackers on the market, in both size and weight. Through an intuitive app parents and pet owners can monitor their loved ones in real-time from almost anywhere.

Trax has a built-in sensor that measures speed and direction. It allows you to draw geo-fences on a map and alerts you when boundaries are crossed. It also alerts you if it’s dropped or exceeds a certain speed.

“Parents and pet owners require a reliable product that is small in size, lightweight and doesn’t get in the way of play. Trax is designed with high quality components and smart technology that meet all the above requirements”, says Fredrik Danelius, CEO of WTS.

By partnering with Telenor Connexion WTS could take advantage of Telenors integrated SIM card, the smallest on the market, as well as an outstanding multi-operator agreement.

“After evaluating several vendors, Telenor Connexion was the obvious choice. No other company could provide us with the same level of extensive experience, flexible business models and professional support through the whole design and development phase”, says Fredrik Danelius, CEO of WTS.

“Trax is probably the most technologically advanced personal GPS locator in the market, yet WTS has succeeded in developing an application that is intuitive and easy to use. We are proud to be part of this smart and reliable tracking solution and look forward to supporting the global roll out”, says Thomas Strandin, Head of Account Management at Telenor Connexion.

Trax will be launched in September 2013 for €185 with 2 years of data and roaming across the United States, Canada, Australia and EU included in the price.

Telenor Connexion’s lifecycle view of connected services helps customers such as Volvo Car Group stay more competitive. This will be showcased in the Connected City of the Mobile World Congress.

In the Connected City of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Telenor Connexion will showcase its lifecycle view of connected services. Under the headlines “Design smart from start!”, “Managed operations” and “Evolve to stay competitive” Telenor Connexion will demonstrate how to reduce communication cost, optimize security and enable new business models for connected services – and stay flexible for market and technology changes.

We live in a changing world where both customer’s needs, business models and technology changes. The ultimate challenge is to stay competitive and on top of market needs. In a connected world it becomes imperative to constantly adapt to technology changes and always ensure the best end-user experience and the most competitive business model. The key to success is to build in a flexible approach to enable constant fine tuning and ability to redefine the overall offering.

Telenor Connexion’s mission is to make it easy for companies to realize connected services. These connected services will change over time going through the product life cycle. Telenor Connexion supports and manages customers’, such as Volvo’s, connected devices through the whole product lifecycle from set up, through operations to development.

Long-term customer Volvo Cars will showcase its connected services in the Telenor Connexion stand in the Connected City.

“Connected services are becoming a vital part of our products to further strengthen the overall car experience. Our award winning On Call app is an excellent example of a connected service evolving over time. Originally, it focused on direct access to a call center in the event of an accident or other emergency, along with location tracking if the vehicle was stolen. The service has since been extended with features like remote cabin-temperature control and door locking, vehicle-location devices and a fuel-economy tracker”, says Robert Jagler, Director MSS Connectivity at Volvo Cars.

“For our customers the decisive factors are flexible technology, market driven business logics as well as a proactive service management. An agnostic approach to communication ensures that our customers stay flexible fo future changes in technology. And having the flexibility of innovative billing and charging services will help them capture new market segments”, says Per Simonsen, CEO of Telenor Connexion.

“We’re not only here to support our customers’ daily operations, we are also here to push them forward”, he concludes.

Telenor Connexion is part of the Connected City at the Mobile World Congress. Here the company will demonstrate its lifecycle view of connected services together with long-term customer Volvo Cars.
Experts from M2M pioneer and connected services enabler, Telenor Connexion, will be part of the high-level telematics conference program covering topics such as security enabled communication and embedded SIM.

Telenor Connexion, a leading enabler of connected services for business and life critical applications, today announced that three of the company’s executives will participate at the Telematics Munich 2012 conference.

Telematics Munich is one of Europe’s largest business focused conferences and exhibitions for the automotive, digital, mobile, consumer electronics and telematics ecosystem. The event expects to attract more than 600 executive attendees.

Andrea Sroczynski, Head of Global Automotive Sales and Head of Region Germany, will give a keynote speech titled “Embedded SIM next generation: Influences on M2M connectivity solutions”. The embedded SIM (eUICC or “white SIM”) is currently a hot topic in the M2M space and telecommunications providers are facing a high demand from customers.

Another topic high on the agenda is security enabled communication. Stephen Bryant, Head of Technology and Operations at Telenor Connexion, will be speaking on “How to avoid hacking points and the business case for end-to-end security in M2M solutions”. As more products become connected they are also exposed to potential “hacking” attacks, fraud or misusage. Hence improving privacy, integrity and security becomes a critical part of a M2M/connected service deployment program.

Furthermore, Rémi Demerlé, Global Partnerships Director, will discuss opportunities and challenges on the panel “Commercial Vehicle Telematics: The Outlook Beyond 2012”.

Telenor Connexion will also demonstrate its specialized connected services offering in booth #16 at the event taking place at the Munich Hilton Park Hotel.
