A quick post-and-run here... I just had to share these paper-thin (OK, more like 0.05mm) lacy filigree teardrops with you - and what's more, all of them are matte! While I don't normally use base metal components, these were much too lovely to pass up. Hello. Holiday shopping going all right so far? :)

I've noticed there have been some late stragglers, so although it is already impossible to have our international orders arrive before Christmas by the usual registered mail means, I've extended the cut-off date for Singapore packages to the 19th, which is this Sunday. I know the holidays snuck up on me this year too. The varying shades of teal green coming together in rough wavy patterns, all in a pear-shaped stone, were impossible to resist. Highly polished with beautiful banding reminiscent of stormy seas, this ocean wave jasper needed nothing more than a simple, coiled loop bail and oxidised sterling silver components.

I made them from double-sided heavy paper and black satin ribbon. The Red set features white and embossed snowflakes on one side, and red-and-white stripes on the other. The latest addition to the ANIMA | MUNDI line is the Ferngully necklace featuring a large asymmetrical Australian chrysoprase pendant and oxidised sterling silver components, which always work so well with the bright minty green. Amazonite is really one of my favourite stones to use. It's a variety of microcline (or potassium aluminium silicate for you nerds like me), a feldspar mineral that may come in white, yellow, pink, grey, green, blue-green or colourless. Nothing spectacular, a remake of the Caliente set I did nearly 3 years back, plus a couple of Swarovski cascades: the Astral Blaze and Sorcielle earrings. I won't deny I was slightly entranced by how sparkly and absolutely perfect those crystals are. If only natural gemstones were that way.
