Jawaan is one film which has been in the making for quite some time now. After a heavy-duty round of promotions, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:-

Jai(Tej) is a sincere youth who at any cost wants to get into the prestigious DRDO organization. But to his bad luck, he gets rejected and carries on with his life. This is also the time when Jai’s childhood friend Keshava(Prasanna) who is a dreaded criminal plans a huge robbery of a missile which is being launched by the DRDO. Just when things seem to be going fine, Jai obstructs the robbery and creates more problems for Keshava. Rest of the story is as to how Keshava and Jai fight for the ultimate weapon.

Plus Points :

The basic idea of the film is interesting and has been set nicely amidst two close friends. Sai Dharam Tej leads from the front and gives his career-best performance. Tej excels in his role and is superb in all the emotional scenes in the film. His dances are very good and he has shown tremendous growth as an actor and carries the entire film single-handedly.

Mehreen provides the necessary eye candy and looks cute in the film. Prasanna, who played the main villain is stylish and does a very good job. But sadly, his role is not elevated that well. The way tej handles all his family problems and put his country on the front has been showcased well.

The second half of the film is where the actual action starts as the cat and mouse game between the hero and villain catch up big time. The way villain sets up Tej and his family by staying close to them has been showcased well. Thaman’s background score and music are also pretty impressive.

Minus Points:-

The film’s first half is a bit weak. Things start on a simple note and the entire DRDO set up is not showcased that effectively. The robbery plan of the missile and how it is stopped by Tej have been shown on a very silly note.

There are no strong emotions which connect you to the film. Even though Prasanna does well, his thread is not executed aptly. You do not get a feeling that he is up to something so big as the setup and push up scenes do not create that impact whatsoever.

The climax is outright silly and has nothing new to offer. During the first half things are not built up well and when they look good during the second half, they are ended on an unimpressive note. One can say that the film does not have proceedings or effect which are needed for a subject which has a patriotic feel.

Technical Aspects:-

The look of the film is just about okay. The DRDO set up and the entire terrorist activity around it has been re-created on just an ordinary note. Production values are average but the camera work was decent. Locations chosen for the film are quite new and look good on screen. Lyrics of the songs are pretty nice and so was Thaman’s music. Editing is apt and looks neat.

Coming to the director BVS Ravi, he has put in some half-hearted approach to the film. Though he has written the storyline quite well, his execution is below par. There is nothing great to rave about in the film as a good sequence is followed by some silly and boring elements. He has failed to create the depth which a patriotic film needs and showcases the film in just an ordinary note.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Jawaan is the story of a man who fights for his nation. Though the storyline of the film is good, it is the half-baked execution which leaves a lot to be desired. Things are left to Sai Dharam Tej’s brilliant performance and he single-handedly rallies the film till the end. There are no entertaining elements which will get you kicked but at the same time, the film offers some decent thrills here and ends up as a passable watch this weekend.

Vunnadi Okkate Zindagi is one film which has been promoted quite heavily. Directed by Kishore Tirumala, this film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story :-

Abhi(Ram) and Varun(Sree Vishnu) are childhood friends who are very close to each other. The twist in the tale arises with the entry of Maha(Anupama) and good friends become loggerheads with each other. What happened between the two friends? What problem did Maha create? and where does Magi(Lavanya) fit in this entire set up?. To know the answers to all these questions, you need to watch the film on the big screen.

Plus Points :-

The way the friendship factor is showcased between these two friends is narrated quite well especially in the second half. The way things are showcased convincingly during the climax will surely impress the audience.

Ram is perfect in his role which has two shades. He looks very handsome and also carries his emotions with a lot of experience. All his scenes with Anupama and Sree Vishnu have been showcased quite well.

Anupama is the star of the film as she has a very meaty role. She does superbly in her character and looks quite elegant during her stay in the first half. Her chemistry with Ram has been elevated quite well.

Last but not the least, Sree Vishnu gets yet another meaty role. Though he is not there much during the first half, he makes it up during the later part and makes the film complete. He is a talented actor who has the capability to slip in any role and it will be interesting to see how he picks films from here. Finally, after Pelli Choopulu, Priyadarshi gets a lengthy role and entertains nicely throughout the film.

Minus Points :-

One of the biggest drawbacks is that the film is a bit slow. The proceedings take their own sweet time to establish themselves. The film needs serious editing to make things crisp and fast.

During the first half, there are not many scenes that elevate the friendship between the two close friends. Some heavy duty emotional scenes should have been added to give real meaning of friendship. Lavanya Tripathi looks out of place as her role has not been dealt well. Also, her look and the way she has been presented looks below average.

One more aspect is you get the feeling that all the emotional and good scenes are kept aside only for the last 10 minutes and up till then proceedings are quite routine. Story-wise too, the film has a very old school story line of two friends landing into problems because of a girl.

Technical Aspects :-

Production values by Sravanti movies are top notch. The film has a very pleasant feel as locations chosen, backdrop created, everything looks quite neat. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is just about okay as there was a clear scope of having better romantic and friendship based songs. Dialogues are impressive and give a depth to the film. The camerawork is also very good as it showcases Vizag and its surrounding areas nicely.

Coming to the director Kishore Tirumala, he has done a decent job with the film. He could not narrate the film on a very interesting note as the line chosen itself is very thin. Scenes wise, his execution is good but overall he makes the proceedings a bit simple and not that exciting.

Verdict :-

On the whole, Vunnadi Okkate Zingadi is a simple and emotional tale of friendship and love. Good bonding between the friends, Ram and Anupama’s love track and some comedy in the second half are basic assets. The film will attract the youth more as it is targeted towards them. But for the general audience, the proceedings are a bit slow and predictable which makes the film a passable watch this weekend.

The success of Garuda Vega is quite crucial for Rajsekhar as he and his team have spent a lot of money on the budget. The action entertainer has finally hit the screens today. Let’s see whether Rajasekhar gets his much-needed success or not.

Story:-

Sekhar(Rajasekhar) is a coveted undercover cop with the NIA. He hides his identity and because of this, he always ends up in problems with his wife(Pooja Kumar). This is also the time he is assigned a very delicate case of a hacker(Adit) who is on the run. Who is this hacker? Why is everyone after him? What crucial data does he have? and What is the whole scam behind all this? To know the answers, you need to watch the film on the big screen.

Plus Points:-

The first thing that hits you while watching Garuda Vega is the huge scale of the film. Everything looks top notch. Right from the NIA set up to the performances, everything looks quite stylized and yet realistic. The money that has been spent on the film is clearly visible on screen in terms of fights, visuals, and thrills.

Hero Rajasekhar makes a comeback as he delivers a very settled performance. Not once does he goes overboard and behaves perfectly as a tough cop who is in charge. The way he deals the case and goes about doing the action part is also very good. Adit plays the role of the hacker to perfection and is good in the film.

Heroine Pooja does a decent job as the nagging wife. Shraddha Das is okay in her cameo. Adarsh Balakrishna looks menacing in his small role. Credit should go to director Praveen Sattaru for showcasing the thrills in an awesome manner. The entire bomb tracking episode during the first half has been showcased with some edge of the seat action.

The first half of the film is very intense and thrilling. There are car chases, fist fights and many more interesting moments which keep you glued. Sunny Leone sizzles in an item song and will please the masses.

Minus Points:-

It is not that the second half is dull but as Praveen Sattaru builds up things so well during the first half that the later part slows down a bit. The film needs serious editing as a song in the first half and some scenes featuring Rajsekhar and Pooja Kumar need to be trimmed right away.

As in every action film, too many cinematic liberties have been taken and this shows on screen. The way the entire scam is revealed and showcased in not that clear and is hard to understand. The main villain Kishore has nothing much to do except for appearing in a few scenes.

Technical Aspects:-

Technical wise, Garuda Vega is one of the best films that has come out in the recent times. The camerawork by Anji is just top notch and reminds us of many Hollywood films with its style. The way he has shot the action sequences and thrills is just too good. As said earlier, the film needs serious editing. Yet another highlight of the film is the stunning background score of the film which elevates the film to another level altogether.

Coming to director Praveen Sattaru, he will surely go to the next level with this film. The way he has used Rajasekhar and made a true blue action film with such high standards is very good. He once again proves that with a good budget, one can create a superb effect and make a Hollywood style movie in Telugu as well. Had he narrated the second half in a bit racy manner, things would have been too good.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Garuda Vega is a true blue action film which has its heart in its right place. Very rarely do you get to see such stylized and huge scale movies which are good fun and quite realistic as well. The entire set up, grand making and a thrilling first half are huge assets of the film. If you ignore the slightly slow second half and cinematic liberties taken in the film, this movie ends as good pop-corn action entertainer this weekend and gives Rajasekhar his much-needed success.

Angel is one film which has been in the making for quite some time now. The film which has Nag Anvesh and Hebah Patel as the female leads has finally hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:-

Nani(Nag Anvesh) is a small-time smuggler who comes across a holy angel called Nakshatra(Hebah Patel). As time passes by, Nani and Nakshatra fall deep in love and start spending quality time with each other. This is also the time when Nakshatra’s dad gets upset with her and sends a special person(Kabir Singh) to bring her back to their fantasy world. What will Nakshatra do now? Will she go back to the place where she came from? How will she convince everyone about her existence? That forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points:-

Hero Nag Anvesh does a decent job in the film. He has improved a lot from his first film and this shows on screen through his body language and expressions. Sapatagiri’s comedy works during the pre-climax and evokes decent laughs.

Hebah Patel is pretty good and the mainstay of the film. Her performance as the Angel has helped the film to an extent. Supporting actors Shayaji Shinde and Pradeep Rawat do their roles convincingly.

Kabir Singh is also impressive as the bad guy. Production values of the film are quite rich and especially the socio-fantasy elements have been executed by Ethnic Creative Studios Hyderabad superbly.

Minus Points:-

Being the central character, heroine Hebah’s role is quite disappointing. The basic reason for her arrival to the earth has not been established well and the scenes that showcase all this have also not been showcased properly.

The love track between the lead pair is below average and does not add any weight to the film. Even though Spatagiri’s comedy evokes good fun, rest of the times it bogs you down.

The pre-climax of the film is also not convincing at all as Kabir Singh’s role fluctuates mostly and has been showcased in a very weird manner.

Technical Aspects:-

Music by Bheems Cecerelio is below average and has nothing much to talk about. Background score is just about okay. Camera work is decent as it depicts the VFX work and other socio-fantasy elements well. Editing is sharp and so was the entire set up. Coming to the director Palani, he has done just an okay job with the film. He chose a very old school storyline of an Angel coming down to the earth and mingling with the regular people but all these scenes have been narrated in a very routine and outdated manner.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Angel is just an okay socio-fantasy entertainer which has some moments here and there. Hebah Patel’s performance and some good visuals are basic assets for the film. On the flip side, the film has a regular story and an even routine narration which spoil the fun most of the time making this film a below average fare this week.

Aadhi Sai Kumar’s latest flick, Next Nuvve has raised expectations among the audience with its trailer and first look posters. TV actor Prabhakar has turned director with this film which has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:-

Karthi(Aadhi Sai Kumar), who is deeply struck by financial issues gets to know that his father(Posani) has left a resort for him. In order to make things meet, Karthi goes to his village and reopens the resort. From day one, Karthi notices drastic changes in the resort as weird things start creeping up most of the time. What kind of changes did he notice? and What is the main reason behind these changes? To know this, you have to watch the film in theaters.

Plus Points:

Hero Aadhi Saikumar’s performance is decent in parts. Heroine Vaibhavi did an okay job as hero’s girlfriend and her performance in horror scenes is pretty decent.

Noted actor Brahmaji is undoubtedly a major plus for the film. His comedy timing and typical one-liners evoke a few laughs here and there. Anchor Rashmi Gautam performed decently in her limited screen presence.

Noted actor, Raghu Babu’s comedy in the pre-climax sequence is good and his getup and hairstyle were designed well. Comedians Prudhvi and Thagubothu Ramesh entertain in parts with their comedy.

Minus Points:

One of the major minus points of the film is it’s weak and abrupt storyline. Prabhakar, who debuted as a director with this film has failed in narrating the film quite engagingly. Though Aadhi gave a decent performance, his character was not elevated properly which may not appeal to a larger section of the audience.

There are many silly and illogic scenes which will surely test the patience of the audience to no extent. Yet another drawback is that the director failed to give a clarity on major topics like why the ghost stays in the resort over the years and what is the hidden story behind it.

Technical Aspects:

Director Prabhakar, who has chosen a horror comedy genre as his debut film has done a below average job with his execution. He should have taken time and sit on the script for even better results. Editing is not up to the mark as many scenes in the film end up abruptly without any proper conclusion.

The cinematography is okay as most of the film runs in a single resort. Music by Sai Karthik is good as he has given some impressive background score which is most important for these kinds of films. Production values are good for this limited budget film.

Verdict:

On the whole, Next Nuvve is yet another routine horror comedy which falls short of expectations. Though Brahmaji and Raghu Babu’s comedy entertain in parts, the flat and abrupt proceedings may not appeal to a larger session of the audience. Those who like horror comedies and desperately want to watch a film this weekend, you can try this film out but go in with no expectations at all.

Sundeep Kishan has been juggling between Tamil and Telugu cinema industries for a while. He is trying to get hold on both the markets by not restricting himself to one language. His latest film Care Of Surya is predominantly a Tamil film despite being marketed as a bilingual. Except a handful of actors, most of the cast consists of relatively unknown Tamil actors.

What is it about?

            Surya (Sundeep Kishan) is a catering guy who has a hot blooded friend Mahesh (Vikrant). Surya doesn't know that his sister is in love with Mahesh. Sambasivudu, a supari killer is hired on a job to eliminate Mahesh. But Surya comes to know about it and makes sure that his friend is safe. However, Sambasivudu is not an ordinary criminal to deal with.

Performances:

            Sundeep Kishan is apt in the lead role. He is particularly impressive in the latter half of the film. He gets all the emotions right like a seasoned actor. Mehreen Pirzada has a very limited role and she is alright as the female lead. Harish Utthaman steals the show as the dreaded villain. He is menacing as the baddie but credits to the director for writing an interesting character. Vikrant and Satya are good in their respective roles. Tulasi is over the top and so is the actor who does the police inspector character.

Technicalities:

   Suseendran's script is strikingly similar to his earlier film Naan Mahan Alla starring Karthi. However, his direction lacked the verve and impact that was consistent in NMA. He has handled the action part very well, but couldn't make it an engaging film on a whole.

Songs are pretty mediocre except for a melody song shot on Sundeep and Mehreen. Background score is impressive. Cinematography is neat and editing is on point. Production values are alright. The film scores on the technical front despite being made on a low budget.

Analysis:

            Care of Surya isn't a bad film after all. It has a few episodes that will engage the viewers with thrilling action. Director Suseendran takes utmost care about the action part in the film, which really makes an impact. However, he couldn't package the film with equally good family scenes and other aspects like love and friendship.

            The story takes an eternity to get to the first plot point. It is only before the interval where things get interesting. Until then it is a painfully boring film without much excitement and entertainment. Second half of the film is much better than the first half as the screenplay races with nail-biting episodes.

            The entire process of Sundeep trying to find the whereabouts of the person that is targeting his friend is dealt in a thrilling fashion. There are many twists and turns in the second hour that makes it a different film from the regular stuff. However one has to sit through a boring, plain and bland first half to reach there.

            Care of Surya has a decent second half and well written villain character as its core strengths, but only ends up as an average fare because of the uninteresting first hour and poorly etched mother, sister and heroine characters. The film has the potential to be a taut action thriller, but a weak screenplay didn't let it go past the average mark.

            Sundeep has been evolving as an actor with each film and is making interesting choices with the scripts. Suseendran almost pulled off a Naan Mahan Alla (Naa Peru Siva) here, but sadly couldn't just get there. Let's see whether it is enough for Sundeep to pull this film to safety or not?

Story:-

Bhargav(Vijay) is a sincere doctor who does medication for free. Seeing his service, a renowned organization in Europe confers him with an award. This is also the time when a lookalike of Bhargav, who is a magician, kills one of the doctors who has come for the same award ceremony. As a result of this, Bhargav gets arrested by the cops. Who is this Vijay? What does he have to do with Bhargav? and what is the scam behind all these murders?. To know the answers, you need to watch the film on the big screen.

Plus Points:-

Vijay is undoubtedly the biggest pillar and carries the entire film on his shoulders. The way he has portrayed all his roles is quite enticing. Vijay was especially good in the role of a village head. Adirindhi is a feast for Vijay fans as there are many mass elements which have been showcased nicely at regular intervals.

The basic story idea is very good as the crimes in the medical field have been showcased quite well. What clicks with the film are the strong emotions. The proceedings showcased have some good emotional appeal and give an edge to the film. Nithya Menen gets a meaty role and does quite well.

The first half is particularly good as the mind games played and confusion created has been elevated effectively. The film looks rich and has a huge scale which is shown through some good visuals.

Minus Points:-

Even though the crucial flashback episode is very good, it is painfully slow. Director Atlee takes his sweet time to bring up the main issue. This is also the time where the film has some heavy Tamil flavor which might bog down the Telugu audience a bit.

Even though the point selected is good, it has not been dealt well at the end of the film as the makers opt for a very cinematic ending. We seriously wonder as to why star heroines like Samantha and Kajal have agreed to be a part of the film as they have absolutely nothing to do.

Technical Aspects:

Surprisingly, A R Rahman’s music is disappointing as not even one song manages to register. But A R’s background score is terrific and elevates the heroism to another level. Telugu dubbing is neat and so were the dialogues. The camerawork is quite gripping as the village visuals and the action elements have been showcased neatly. As said earlier, production values are top notch. Vijay has been styled quite nicely in the film.

Coming to the director Atlee, he has done a good job with the film. Even though he is very young, the manner in which he has handled an intense subject is very impressive. He does not compromise on the narration part and showcases the film in a neat manner. Probably, because of this, many might feel some lag in the proceedings during the second half.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Adirindi is an intense masala entertainer which deals with the discrepancies in the medical field. Vijay’s one-man show, good first half and super strong emotions hold the film for most of the time. The film has very nicely placed mass elements which will keep the fans interested. If you ignore the lengthy runtime and a bit slow second half, this film has in it to make your weekend quite enjoyable and decent.

Young hero Vishal, is ready with yet another dubbing film of his. Titled Detective, this mystery thriller has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

Advaita Bhushan(Vishal) is a pretty famous detective in Vizag. He often cracks cases which even the cops do not manage to accomplish. One fine day, a school going kid comes to him with a case of his dog being killed. Bhushan starts his interrogation but finds out that there is a huge setup and contract killers behind all this. Well, how does he manage to track all of this is the whole film about.

Plus Points:-

Vishal is the center of attraction and backbone for this film. He is pretty impressive in the role of an eccentric detective. The way he operates and nabs the criminals has been showcased in a decent manner.

The second half is where the actual action begins as the main links to the suspense story are revealed clearly. The climax portions and all the murders have been showcased in a very interesting manner.

The film has a unique screenplay and runs on a different approach altogether and this makes certain investigation scenes quite gripping. Andrea is very impressive in her negative role. Anu Emanuel does best as Vishal’s maidservant.

Minus Points:-

The film has a serious setup and things are not cleared during the first half. This is the time when the viewers are confused with some weird happenings. At one point, you won’t understand what is happening as the answer to these are only known during the last 20 minutes. Because of this, the film bogs down and never takes an aggressive start.

Generally, investigative thrillers are quite racy but the director of Detective takes his own sweet time to establish everything making the film very slow at times. There are certain logics which go against the film like a detective taking the upper hand on the cops and dealing things by his own.

Technical Aspects:-

Detective has decent technical values as it is made on a very good scale. The camerawork is very impressive as it gives the film a feel of a serious thriller. Telugu dubbing was very good and so was the background score. The fights have been choreographed quite well and especially the Chinese fight is superbly done.

Coming to the director Mysskin, he has done a decent job with the film and showcased it in a new set up. The manner in which he goes about investigating the case makes things interesting most of the time. Had he narrated the murder mysteries on an even crispier note, things would have been even better.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Detective is an investigative crime drama which has some interesting moments. A gripping second half and some decent performances are huge assets of this film. Even though the first half takes a long time to get on to the actual story line, once it catches speed, the film ends up a decent watch from there. All those who love screenplay based mystery thrillers will like this film. But for others, it is just an average watch.

Siddharth is one actor who always comes up with different films all the time. He is now back with a very interesting horror thriller called Gruham which has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:-

Krish(Siddharth) and Lakshmi(Andrea) are a couple who lead a happy life together. One fine day, a lovable family join them as their neighbors. As time passes by, one of the family members, Jenny, gets transformed into an evil spirit and starts troubling everyone badly. Who is this evil spirit? Why is it targeting the family? and how does Krish handle this entire situation? To know the answers to all these questions, you need to watch the film on the big screen.

Plus Points:-

One of the best points of the film are the spooky elements. Gruham is filled with horror effects right through the film and they scare you convincingly. Even though the story is old school, the narration is new as the set up has been elevated in a different tone altogether.

The first half is quite thrilling with some good horror elements being thrown in terms of sound effects. Siddharth is exceptional in his role as a surgeon and his performance in the climax is very gripping. Andrea is also impactful as Siddharth’s wife and the couple shares a sizzling chemistry on screen.

The interval block is the highlight of the film and gives a good adrenaline rush. The girl who did the role of Jenny was awesome as she creates a superb horror effect with her performance. The climax of the film and the Chinese angle to the entire film has been conceived well. Senior actor Suresh does a very good job as a psychiatrist.

Minus Points:-

As in every horror film, the story of Gruham is also the same. An evil spirit creating a conflict point and how the family suffers has been shown in many films before.

Once the twist is revealed in the second half, the film gets predictable until the climax. There are certain scenes where logic goes missing. The twist about the actual villain could have been elevated well.

Technical Aspects:

Gruham is high on technical aspects and has a stunning set up throughout. As said earlier, even though the makers chose a routine story, they pumped the entire film with some great visuals. Credit should go to the camera man for showcasing the film in a stunning way. All the horror elements look superb only because of his captivating camera work. The sound design of the film is very good as it gives you goosebumps in many areas. Background score is yet another highlight and elevates the film to another level.

Coming to the director Milind Rao, he has done a very impressive job with the film. All the scenes he has narrated look quite new and believable. His narration of horror scenes and the way he has dealt with the suspense element is very good.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Gruham is a true blue horror thriller which is to the point. There is no unnecessary hungama in the film which sidetracks the attention of the viewers. Great spooky scenes, taut narration and good performances are huge assets. The storyline is old school and has nothing new to offer. If you ignore this very point, this film ends up a thrilling watch this weekend.

Khakee is one film which has been creating a lot of buzz off late. Based on a true cop story, this film has Karthi as the main lead and has hit the screens all overtoday. Let’s see how it is.

Story:-

The film is set in the early 90’s and Dheeraj(Karthi) is a fierce Tamil Nadu cop who is quite famous for his uncompromising attitude. During this time, the entire state is struck by some brutal robberies all over. People die in these robberies but the cops do not have any clue at all. This is the time Dheeraj takes charge of this case and finds out that a huge dacoit gang from Rajasthan is behind all this. Rest of the story is as to how Dheeraj cracks this case and nabs all those who are behind this.

Plus Points:

One of the biggest plus points of the film is the riveting screenplay. The film has full on edge of the seat moments which will keep you hooked till the end. Credit should go to the director for his detailing. The way the case is handled over the years has been shown with utmost clarity and gripping narration.

Karthi is back with a bang and shines as DSP Dheeraj. Every move of his is linked with the role he plays and not once do you see him getting sidetrack during the entire operation. Rakul Preet does her bit and is good support for Karthi.

The interval bang and bus chasing sequence in the second half literally gives you goosebumps. Abhimanyu Singh as the main villain is pretty awesome. The main thing that keeps you entertained with Khakee is the continuous flow of action elements throughout the film.

Minus Points:-

All those who are looking for some pop-corn entertainment will be a bit disappointed with this film as it is a serious cop drama with dark elements and brutal action.

The film takes a lot of time to get into the actual storyline as Rakul Preet and Karthi’s romantic track bores you at times. Songs of the film are quite disappointing and should have been avoided.

Technical Aspects:-

Khakee is high in technical aspects. Camera work by Sathyan Sooryan is top notch as he brings the 90’s effect in a effective manner. Also, the way he showcases the fights and barren lands in Rajasthan give a lot of depth to the film. Telugu dubbing is decent and so were the production values. The production design and artwork which showcased the cop set up is quite good. Editing is slick and so was the background score by Ghibran.

Coming to the director Vinoth, he has done a very good job with the film. His detailing with the case is awesome and the way he narrated the film with ample action elements and racy chasing episodes make this film click big time. He keeps the film quite realistic which makes things even more interesting for the audience.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Khakee is a riveting cop drama which has many edge of the seat moments. Very rarely do you see such thrillers which are showcased without diverting from the main point. Karthi’s tough cop act, racy action elements and gripping narration are major assets to the movie. As the film is genre specific, it does not have any commercial elements whatsoever. So, all those who like action films and are looking forward to watch a realistic action thriller, Khakee is one film you should not miss this weekend. Go for it.

Indraganti’s Ami Tumi has been promoted quite well in the last few days. The comedy caper featuring Vennela Kishore, Adivi Sesh and Srinivasa Avasarala has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:-

Gangadhar Rao(Tanikella Bharani) is strictly against his daughter’s(Esha) affair with Ananth(Adivi Sesh) and fixes her marriage with Sreechilipi(Vennela Kishore). This is also the time when Gangadhar’s son(Srinivasa Avasarala) is in love with his enemy’s daughter Maaya(Aditi).

Upset with his kids, Gangadhar locks his daughter inside a room and kicks his son out of his house. Rest of the story is as to how the brother-sister duo manages to evade Sree Chilipi and get married to their respected lovers.

Plus Points:

Vennela Kishore has been shining brightly in every film of his of late, but his comedy is to another level in Ami Tumi. Right after he enters the scene, Kishore’s punch dialogues, subtle mannerisms, and his chemistry with his love interest in the film are to die for. Kishore’s satirical comedy and the way he uses funny English phrases in the form of punches are hilarious. With this film, his popularity will surely go to another level.

Tannikella Bharani brings a lot of depth to the proceedings and is very good as the strict father. The film has good comedy throughout as the director Mohana Krishna nicely adds good entertaining moments in both the halves. The mistaken identity comedy and the comedy track that he has written for Vennela Kishore works quite well.

The climax of the film is also decent and ends on a positive note. The actress who plays Vennela Kishore’s love interest in the film also does a tremendous job as her act brings a lot of humor in the film. Eesha Rebba is good as the Telangana girl.

Minus Points:-

The first ten to twelve minutes of the film start on a very slow note. The way the characters are introduced and their loud acting can put you off most of the time. The film clearly has some loud and slapstick comedy which may not go well with the mass audience.

Even though the film is a comedy caper, the way certain characters behave makes the film quite silly at times. Srinivasa Avasarala and Adavi Sesh do their job well but are hardly there in the film.

Technical Aspects:

Production values are pretty good as the film looks neat and visually entertaining. Dialogues by Mohana Krishna are yet another huge asset for the film as they have been written with a lot of satirical humour. Editing is decent and so was the background score. Luckily, Mani Sharma’s music goes with the flow and does not obstruct the proceedings. Camera work by P G Vinda is pretty good even though he had less scope to showcase his talent as the film is set mostly in very few locations.

Coming to the director Mohana Krishna, he has done an impressive job with the film. With a less number of characters, he has made the proceedings quite interesting as his screenplay is quite crisp and to the point. The way he generates comedy through Vennela Kishore’s character and adds good fun at regular interval is nice.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Ami Tumi is a very healthy comedy which has some entertaining moments throughout. The film will especially do well at the A centers because of its urban comedy touch. Vennela Kishore is the star as he makes this film which has a simple and predictable story line quite enjoyable with his hilarious performance as Sree Chipili. Watch it for him.

Continuing the trend of small budget films, yet another movie Raja Meeru Keka has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

Ravi(Revanth), Swetha (Lasya), Shashank(Noel) and Seenu(Hemanth) are four best friends who are happy with their respective jobs. One fine day, a person named Nagaraju(Tarak Ratna) who owns an MNC enters the scene and creates a big disturbance in the lives of these four friends.

What is that disturbance? How are Nagaraju and these four friends connected? How do these friends solve their problems? That forms the rest of the story?

Plus Points:

The way director Krishna Kishore has based his story using some true incidents looks good. Anchor Lasya is impressive on screen and gives a decent performance in her limited screen presence.

Looks wise, Revanth is good and does okay in his role. Noel Sean is very good with his energetic performance. Mirchi Hemanth’s comedy timing and expressions are superb. Mainly, all his episodes with his father are hilarious.

Tarak Ratna, who is back after a short gap is impressive in his negative role and gives a settled performance. Heroine Sarayu is good looking and suits the film well.

Minus Points:

Though the director has chosen some true incidents, he completely failed in executing it. The film starts with an entertaining pattern but loses its grip after some time.

Posani was not utilized properly. Thirty years Prudhvi’s comedy has no proper timing or finishing. Films which come with this kind story line should have proper conclusion and solution but the director has totally taken side track with an abrupt ending.

Technical Aspects:

As said above, the way director Krishna Kishore deals with the film is highly disappointing. Editing by AV Prasad is not up to the mark as many unnecessary scenes can be easily chopped off. Camera work by Ram.P.Reddy is decent. Music by Sricharan is okay but his background score impresses in parts. Production values are just okay.

Verdict:

On the whole, Raja Meeru Keka has a good point script-wise but is completely let down by some shoddy execution. Except for Hemanth’s performance and his hilarious track with his dad, this film lacks proper depth in the proceedings and makes a boring watch for this week.

Continuing the trend of dubbed Tamil films, the new movie which has come out today is Aadi Pinisetty’s Marakatamani. Let’s see how this crime comedy is.

Story :-

The story of the film is about an ancient diamond called Marakatamani. Over a period of time, all those who try to steal the prestigious stone keep getting killed in mysterious situations.

This is the time when a small time smuggler played by Aadhi comes forward to rob Marakatamani. He approaches a pujari who suggests him to take the help of some evil spirits in order to stay alive and complete his tasks.

What will Aadi do now? How will he create evil spirits? and moreover, how will he steal Marakatamani? That forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points:-

On of the biggest plus points of the film is the way the evil spirits have been generated into the story line. The comedy that this thread evokes is very good most of the film. The small time crime comedy, villains chasing the hero and the various other spooky factors have been handled well.

Aadi plays a pivotal role and does a very sincere job. He mixes well with the setup and his track with Nikki Garlani is quite interesting. She has a unique role in the film and does extremely well in her character.

Ramdoss who plays a key role of a spirit is hilarious in his act. He along with his group save the film most of the time and evoke some very good fun in the second half.

Minus Points:-

The story of the film is quite fictional and has many over the top moments. The evil spirits coming into existence and helping the hero look good in places but has been over done a bit in the first half. Lack of known faces can go against the film as there are all new Tamil actors playing crucial roles.

Nikki Garlani’s romantic thread with Aadi is side tracked and could have been elevated a bit. The first half of the film is very slow as the proceedings take forever to get to the actual twist of the film. Though the film has some good comedy during this time, the story does not move one bit. The villain’s thread though started interestingly, becomes quite silly by the time the climax arrives.

Technical Aspects:-

The film’s set up looks good and the decent camerawork makes the scenes look quite interesting and spooky. The background score of the film is very impressive and elevates the film nicely. Dubbing done is just about okay and so were the production values.

Coming to the director Saravanan, he has done a decent job with the film. His story looks over the top but he adds some clean and good humor at regular intervals and makes this film quite interesting during the second half. Had he rushed the first half and brought the twist at an earlier stage, the film would have been even more interesting.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Marakatami is a passable fantasy thriller which has its moments. The makers cleverly induce good fun at regular intervals and side track the over the top storyline. If you ignore certain logics here and there and are okay with some time pass situational comedy, this crime thiller can be given a shot this weekend.

నటీనటులు : శర్వానంద్, సురభి, సప్తగిరి, ప్రభాస్ శ్రీను…తెలుగులో విలక్షణ సినిమాలతో తనదైన గుర్తింపు తెచ్చుకున్న హీరో శర్వానంద్, తాజాగా ‘ఎక్స్‌ప్రెస్ రాజా’ పేరుతో ఓ డిఫరెంట్ స్క్రీన్‌ప్లేను నమ్మి సంక్రాంతి కానుకగా సినిమాను మన ముందుకు తెచ్చారు. ‘వెంకటాద్రి ఎక్స్‌ప్రెస్‌’తో మెప్పించిన దర్శకుడు మేర్లపాక గాంధీ దర్శకత్వంలో తెరకెక్కిన ఈ సినిమాను వరుస హిట్స్‌తో దూసుకుపోతోన్న యూవీ క్రియేషన్స్ నిర్మించింది. ప్రమోషన్స్‌తో మంచి ఆసక్తి రేకెత్తించిన ఈ సినిమా ఏ స్థాయిలో ఆకట్టుకుందీ? చూద్దాం..

కథ :

రాజా (శర్వానంద్) అల్లరి చిల్లరిగా పనిపాటా లేకుండా తిరిగే ఓ యువకుడు. తన సేవా కార్యక్రమాలతో సమాజంలో మంచి వ్యక్తిగా పేరు సంపాదించుకున్న వ్యక్తికి కొడుకైనా కూడా సరదాగా కాలం వెళ్ళదీసే రాజా, అమ్ము (సురభి) అనే అమ్మాయిని మొదటి చూపులోనే ప్రేమిస్తాడు. తరువాత అమ్ము కోసం రాజా స్నూపీ అనే ఓ కుక్క పిల్లను ప్లాన్ చేసి కిడ్నాప్ చేయాల్సి వస్తుంది. అక్కణ్ణుంచి మొదలైన కథ బినామీ బ్రిటీష్ (సుప్రీత్), ఇనుము (ధన్‍రాజ్), మావయ్య శీను (ప్రభాస్ శీను), పొల్యూషన్ గిరి (సప్తగిరి), బిల్‌గేట్స్ (బ్రహ్మాజీ), వసంత కోకిల (ఊర్వశి), నటరాజ్ (షకలక శంకర్).. ఇలా విచిత్రమైన పాత్రల రాకతో ఏయే మలుపులు తిరిగిందీ? అసలు ఈ పాత్రలన్నింటికీ రాజాకు ఉన్న సంబంధం ఏంటి? ఈ జర్నీ ఎటు పోతుంది? రాజా ప్రేమకథ ఏమవుతుంది? అసలు రాజా ఓ కుక్క పిల్ల కోసం ఎందుకు ప్లాన్ గీస్తాడు? రాజాకి కుక్కలంటే ఎందుకు పడదు? ఓ సమస్యలో చిక్కుకున్న తన తండ్రిని రాజా ఎలా కాపాడాడు? ఇలాంటి ఆసక్తికర ప్రశ్నలకు సమాధానమే ‘ఎక్స్‌ప్రెస్ రాజా’

ప్లస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఈ సినిమాకు మేజర్ హైలైట్ అంటే అది తెలుగు సినిమాకు కొత్తదీ, విచిత్రమైనదీ అయిన స్క్రీన్‌ప్లేను ఎక్కడా బోర్ కొట్టించకుండా, అందరికీ అర్థమయ్యే తరహాలో రాసుకున్న విధానం గురించి చెప్పుకోవచ్చు. ఒక విచిత్రమైన సంఘటనతో సినిమాను మొదలుపెట్టి అక్కణ్ణుంచి కథలో రకరకాల పాత్రలను పరిచయం చేస్తూ, అన్నింటినీ కథకూ, కథ ప్రయాణానికీ కలుపుతూ చేసిన ప్రయోగం గురించి చెప్పుకోవచ్చు. అదే విధంగా ఆ పాత్రలన్నింటికీ ఒకదానికి ఒకటి కనెక్షన్ ఉండేలా చేసుకొని, అన్ని పాత్రల్లోనూ కొత్తదనం ఉండేలా చూసుకోవడం కట్టిపడేస్తుంది. ఫస్ట్ సీన్ నుంచి మొదలుకొని చివరివరకూ ఎక్కడా టెంపో తగ్గకుండా కామెడీని ఎక్కడా మిస్ చేయకపోవడం ఈ సినిమాకు హలైట్స్‌లో ఒకటిగా చెప్పుకోవచ్చు.

నటీనటుల విషయానికి వస్తే.. శర్వానంద్ తన పాత్రను చాలా బాగా పోషించాడు. ‘రన్ రాజా రన్’ తరహా పాత్రతో శర్వానంద్ మరోసారి విపరీతంగా ఆకట్టుకుంటాడు. అతడి కామెడీ టైమింగ్ కూడా చాలా బాగుంది. సురభి అందంగా ఉండి ఫర్వాలేదనిపించేలా నటించింది. ఇక సప్తగిరి తనదైన టైమింగ్‌తో ఆద్యంతం కట్టిపడేస్తాడు. ఊర్వశిని ఈ తరహా పాత్రలో చూడడం చాలా కొత్తగా ఉంది. వసంత కోకిల పాత్రలో ఆమె తనదైన మార్క్ చూపెట్టారు. ఇక సుప్రీత్, ప్రభాస్ శీను, షకలక శంకర్, బ్రహ్మాజీ, ధన్‌రాజ్ అందరూ తమ తమ పాత్రల్లో సినిమాకు మంచి ప్లస్ పాయింట్స్‌గా నిలిచారు. ఈ పాత్రలన్నింటికీ కథలో ఒక ప్రాధాన్యత ఉండడం ఇక్కడ విశేషం.

సినిమా పరంగా చూసుకుంటే ఓపెనింగ్ సీక్వెన్స్, ప్రీ ఇంటర్వెల్, ఇంటర్వెల్, ఇంటర్వెల్ తర్వాతి ఇరవై నిమిషాల ఎపిసోడ్, లాజిక్స్ మిస్ అయినా సరదాగా సాగిపోయే క్లైమాక్స్‌లను హైలైట్‌గా చెప్పుకోవచ్చు.

మైనస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఈ సినిమాకు మేజర్ మైనస్ పాయింట్ అంటే హీరో, హీరోయిన్ల ప్రేమకథ అసహజంగా, ఏమాత్రం పరిణతి లేని ఇద్దరి సరదా వ్యవహారంలో చూపడం గురించి చెప్పాలి. ఈ పోర్షన్ మరీ అసహజంగా కనిపించి ఫస్టాఫ్‌లో సినిమా ఫ్లోను ఓకే ఓకే అన్నట్లు నడిపించింది. ఇక హీరోకు ఏ పనీ లేకపోవడం, హీరోయిన్‌ని చూడగానే ప్రేమలో పడిపోవడం దగ్గర్నుంచి చాలా విషయాల్లో లాజిక్ పెద్దగా లేదు. హీరో అంటే చివరకు అన్నీ అనుకున్నట్లు అనుకున్నది జరిగిపోవడం, చివర్లో ఒక సమస్య నుంచి తండ్రిని భయపడేయడం వంటివి మరీ రొటీన్‌గా కనిపిస్తాయి.

హీరోయిన్ అమ్ము పాత్ర సాదాసీదాగా ఉంది. అదే విధంగా మొదట్నుంచీ, చివరివరకూ కామెడీనే నమ్ముకున్న సినిమాలో వచ్చే కొన్ని క్యారెక్టర్స్ మధ్యన వచ్చే ఎమోషన్ ఆకట్టుకునేలా లేదు. ఇలా విచిత్రమైన క్యారెక్టర్స్ అన్నింటి వల్లా ఎప్పటికప్పుడు కథ ఒక్కో టర్న్ తీసుకోవడం కూడా ఫార్ములాకు అలవాటుపడిన ప్రేక్షకులకు కనెక్ట్ అవ్వకపోవచ్చు. సీరియస్ కథాంశాన్ని, ఎమోషన్‌ను, డ్రామాను ఇష్టపడే ప్రేక్షకులకు ఈ సినిమాలో ఆకట్టుకునే అంశాలు లేవు.

సాంకేతిక విభాగం :

సాంకేతిక అంశాల పరంగా ఈ సినిమాలో అందరికంటే ముందుగా దర్శకుడు మేర్లపాక గాంధీ గురించి చెప్పుకోవాలి. రచయితగా ఒక ఆసక్తికరమైన స్క్రీన్‌ప్లేను, క్యారెక్టర్స్‌ను తయారు చేసిన గాంధీ, దాన్ని ఒక ఔట్ అండ్ ఔట్ కామెడీగా తెరకెక్కించడంలో దర్శకుడిగా చాలాచోట్ల మంచి సక్సెస్ సాధించాడు. ముఖ్యంగా కామెడీ టైమింగ్, డైలాగ్స్ పరంగా గాంధీ కట్టిపడేశాడు. హీరో, హీరోయిన్ల లవ్‌ట్రాక్‌ను మరోలా ప్లాన్ చేసి, కొంత ఎమోషన్‌కు కూడా చోటు కల్పించి ఉంటే మరింత బాగుండేది.

కార్తీక్ ఘట్టమనేని సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ టెక్నికల్ అంశాల్లో మంచి హైలైట్‌గా చెప్పుకోవచ్చు. ముఖ్యంగా ఒక జర్నీలో ఎప్పటికప్పుడు మారిపోతూ ఉండే మూడ్‌ను చాలా బాగా క్యాప్చర్ చేశాడు. ఇక ప్రవీణ్ లక్కరాజు అందించిన పాటలు సినిమాతో కలిపి చూసినప్పుడు మంచి ఫీల్ ఇస్తాయి. ఎడిటింగ్ ఫర్వాలేదనేలా ఉంది. కొన్ని చోట్ల వేగంగా ఒక సీన్ నుంచి ఇంకో సీన్‌కి వెళ్ళిపోవడం ఇబ్బంది పెడుతుంది. యూవీ క్రియేషన్స్ ఎప్పట్లానే ప్రొడక్షన్ వ్యాల్యూస్ పరంగా ఎక్కడా కాంప్రమైజ్ కాలేదు.

కామెడీ అనే జానర్‌కు ఏ భాషలో అయినా ఎప్పుడూ మంచి ఆదరణ కనిపిస్తుంది. ఆ కామెడీ అర్థవంతంగా ఉండి, దానికి లాజిక్, కొంత డ్రామా కూడా తోడైతే అవి మర్చిపోలేని సినిమాలుగా నిలుస్తాయి. అదే లాజిక్ మిస్ అయి, డ్రామా లేని సినిమాలైతే సరదాగా అప్పటికి నవ్వుకొని, అప్పుడప్పుడూ ఎంజాయ్ చేసే సినిమాలుగా నిలుస్తాయి. ఎక్స్‌ప్రెస్ రాజా సరదాగా సాగిపోయే రెండో రకం సినిమా! సరికొత్త స్క్రీన్‌ప్లే, విచిత్రమైన పాత్రలతో ఆద్యంతం నవ్వించే పాత్రలు, మంచి కామెడీ టైమింగ్ నింపుకొని వచ్చిన సన్నివేశాలు, నటీనటులంతా బాగా నవ్వించడం ఈ సినిమాకు ప్లస్ పాయింట్స్. ఇక హీరో, హీరోయిన్ల లవ్‌ట్రాక్ సాదాసీదాగా ఉండడం, లాజిక్ అన్న మాటకు పెద్దగా ప్రాధాన్యం ఇవ్వకపోవడం, ఎమోషన్ లేకపోవడం వంటివి మైనస్ పాయింట్‌గా చెప్పుకోవచ్చు. ఒక్కమాటలో చెప్పాలంటే సరదాగా, పెద్దగా లాజిక్ లేకున్నా ఫర్వాలేదు కానీ మంచి కామెడీ ఉంటే చాలు అనుకునేవారికి ఈ సినిమా పర్ఫెక్ట్ ఆప్షన్. లాజిక్ వెతకకుండా చూస్తే హాయిగా నవ్వించే సినిమా ‘ఎక్స్‌ప్రెస్ రాజా’!

Soggade Chinni Nayana Telugu Movie (2016) Review

Akkineni Nagarjuna always comes up with interesting films in his career. This time around, he brings you a complete family entertainer in the form of Soggade Chinni Nayana. After a huge round of promotions, this film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it turns out to be.

Story:-

The story of the film is based in a native village of Andhra and is set amidst the family of late Bangara Raju(Nagarjuna). The film opens up with Bangara Raju’s son, again played by Nagarjuna and his wife (Lavanya) who are on the verge of taking a divorce. The couple reach their native village and confront their problem to Bangara Raju’s wife Satya(Ramya Krishna).

An upset Satya locks herself in the room and confronts this to a huge portrait of her late husband. Satya reveals to him that she has landed in huge problems after his death and pleads him to do something about this. Rest of the story is to how a dead Bangara Raju comes back to life and solves all his family’s problems.

Plus Points:-

It is so good to see Nagarjuna in an author backed role after such a long time. Soggade is Nagarjuna’s one man show as the script, character and look suits his real life persona big time. Nagarjuna is at his wittiest best and floors the audience with his looks and mesmerizing act. He has shown good variations in both his roles, and his chemistry with Ramya Krishna and Lavanya is simply stunning.

Yet another basic asset of the film is the family orientation which will connect to one and all. The rustic locales, subtle romance and feel good songs, which are a rare sight in this day and age have been executed well. Ramya Krishna is superb in her role and looks gorgeous even at this age.

Credit should go to the director for etching out all the roles in a beautiful way. Every character has equal importance and the way they gel with the story line is pretty good. Lavanya is apt in her role and brings a decent effect to the proceedings with her traditional avatar.

Anasuya impresses in her cameo and has stunning screen presence. First half of the film is quite lively and has good family emotions and comedy. Nasser and Sampath are decent in their roles.

Minus Points:-

Conflict point of the film is a bit simple and has nothing much interesting to offer. Pace of the film during the second half drops a bit as certain scenes sidelined to the main plot.

Even though Brahmanandam is good, some of his scenes during the first half could have been edited. The plot of the film is quite predictable and once the twist is revealed, the proceedings get bogged down. Even though the film is quite entertaining during the first half, the actual story only kick starts in the second half.

Technical Aspects:-

Music of the film is hugely impressive as all the songs are quite soothing and have also been shot quite nicely. Production values are top notch and the excellent camera work only adds to the grand village visuals. Dialogues are quirky and suit the mood of the film well. Screenplay of the film is quite simple as the makers have played to the galleries and added scenes which will be liked by one and all.

Coming to the director Kalyan Krishna, he has done a superb job with the film. Right from the first frame, he draws your attention with some wholesome entertainment and presents Nagarjuna in an entertaining manner. Even though his story is quite simple, the way he has narrated the film with decent family emotions is what makes this film tick.

Verdict:-

Whenever Nagarjuna has done entertaining roles, films have always clicked. Same is the case with Soggade Chinni Nayana which is a complete family entertainer. Nagarajuna’s live wire performance and some very neatly executed family emotions are huge assets for this film. Barring the slow pace during the second half, this film ends up as an enjoyable watch for every section of the audience this Sankranthi season.

Where Is Vidya Balan 2015 Telugu Movie Review

Continuing with the trend of crime comedies, yet another interesting flick titled ‘Where is Vidya Balan’ has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story :-
Kiran (Prince) is a simple pizza delivery boy who falls in love with a doctor named Swathi (Jyothi Setti). He starts wooing her and some how succeeds in winning her love.
While all this is going on, the couple suddenly get stuck in a chaotic situation where a deadly minister (Jaya Prakash Reddy), a reputed doctor (Rao Ramesh) and a funny don (Sampoornesh Babu) are after Vidya Balan.
Who is this Vidya Balan ? Why are everyone after her ? and what is this chaotic situation all about ? To know answers to these questions, you need to watch the film on the big screen.
Plus Points :-
Second half is the biggest asset of the film. The actual fun starts during this time and the funny and chaotic climax ends the film on a happy note.
Prince is ok as the main lead but needs to work on his acting skills. Heroine Jyothi Sethi is decent. All the scenes featuring comedian Madhu and Prince have come out well.
Sampoornesh Babu is hilarious in his role of Ghantasala. He evokes superb laughs during the climax along with Jaya Prakash Reddy. Saptagiri is ok in his cameo and so is Rao Ramesh as the bad guy.
Minus Points :-
First half an hour of the film is routine and lacks direction. The movie starts on a boring note as all the characters make an entry without clarity. Right up to the last ten minutes of the interval block, the film is dragged with Prince’s love track.
Even though Madhu is decent, he goes over board in many scenes during the second half. Story of the film is quite routine and has been dealt many a times before.
Songs cause a hindrance to the film and could have been easily removed. The film has a roller coaster effect as the movie keeps getting better with certain twists but gets bogged down with some boring scenes.
Technical Aspects :-
Music is below average and all the songs could have been removed. Camera work is pretty good and so is the art direction. Production values are decent as the makers have not compromised on the number of artists selected for tiny roles.
Screenplay is pretty bad during the first half but picks up pace from interval. Coming to the director Srinivas, he has done a decent job and has executed some good comedy in the second half. The only place where he falters is during the first half where his direction lacks focus.
Verdict :-
On the whole, Where is Vidya Balan has some entertaining moments. Interesting second half, Samporrnesh Babu’s comedy and a hilarious climax save the film from sinking. If you manage to sit through the slow first half, you can easily give this passable crime comedy a shot.
