Jan. 24: Inspiration Made: The Making of a Movement

Did you know that Temple Made is actually Temple Made? That’s right, Temple Made, Temple University’s recent branding effort promoting the impact this distinguished institution has on the world, was created and executed by Temple alumni, students, faculty and staff. By uniquely incorporating the Temple community into the campaign and leveraging social media networks, the amazing stories and achievements that are Temple Made are brought to life.

On behalf of the Temple University Young Alumni (TUYA), you are invited to a celebration of the Temple Made branding campaign, featuring an exclusive portrait of its evolution, unique moments that captured its excitement and impact, and a preview of what’s to come. Learn more about the extraordinary people and ingenuity that are Temple Made, and share your ideas in shaping its future.

Refreshments will be served from 6-6:30 p.m., with the panel discussion beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Mar. 2: 2013 Brunch and Basketball

Join alumni, faculty and friends at the School of Media and Communication’s annual Brunch & Basketball on Saturday, March 2, 2013 as the Owls take on Rhode Island. Brunch will be held in the morning at Annenberg Hall followed by the game at the Liacouras Center at 2:00 p.m. Further details will follow.

Mar. 22: Gradute Student Research Forum

The 15th annual School of Media and Communication Graduate Student Research Forum is a competitive research forum open to ALL graduate students in any SMC program.

SMC graduate students are encouraged to submit a paper of their completed or in-progress scholarly work. Examples may include:

papers involving original research or critical literature reviews that were written for a class
research proposals
completed research papers not yet presented at a conference

Submissions will be blind-reviewed by MMC faculty and invited reviewers. Criteria for judging will include: originality of research, contribution to the field, theoretical and methodological soundness, clarity and organization. All MMC students are expected to attend the forum. Cash prizes will be awarded. Each student may submit only one paper. Submissions must include a 100-word abstract and a cover sheet with the submitter’s name, phone number, email address and mailing address. The author’s name must not appear anywhere else on the paper.

Please submit a digital version of your paper by Friday, January 25, 2013, as an email attachment to Andy Mendelson at amendels@temple.edu.
