Paper Shoe Ornaments

Design team member Livia Hajovsky made these paper shoe ornaments using the pattern in the November 2008 issue of The Monthly Muse, and decorated them with mini dominos and images.

Livia is getting a new knee today, so think some good thoughts in her direction.

Dead Hot Matchbox Wrappers

These are sized for one inch hole punches, with just a little extra around the edge, so you won’t get that icky white halo around the image. Ten Two Studios is celebrating its fourth anniversary this month! Since this blog is filled with daily artwork, I thought it would be fun to challenge friends to create artwork in celebration of this milestone. Here’s the deal:

Use at least one piece from the sheet in a piece of your artwork.
Scan or photograph your piece on a white background.
Email your unedited photo to me at tentwostudios at yahoo dot com by July 31st. Include in your email the following information: your full name, your location in the world (city and state in the US, or country), and permission to publish your work. If you have a web site, blog or photostream, include those links
Your finished piece might appear here on the Ten Two Studios blog, credited and linked to you. Some or all of your piece might also appear on a digital collage sheet of arty bits from this challenge—in which case, you’ll get a copy of that sheet for free.

Bottle Cap Belt

When design team member Patti Monroe-Mohrenweiser sent in this pic of a denim belt embellished with bottle caps, we put our heads together to try to figure the best to photograph it. I think we shot it from every possible angle, flat, close up, wrapped around things—and finally, I realized that even if the shot isn’t perfection, you’re all smart enough to recognize a clever idea when you see it.

Patti decorated a purchased denim belt with bottle caps and images from the Tinted Twenties Rounds sheet.

Marie on a Stick

My friend Mike and I have a running joke about selling beer on a stick at the Ren faire. so when design team member Rosie Rowe sent in this piece under the subject line “Marie on a Stick”, I roared with laughter. Then I opened it and saw the pic, and decided I should wave this pretty wand over her and make her Queen for the Day.

To make the wand, Rosie used the Duchess Doll Bodies and Duchess Wing Set digital sheets, and the instructions for the Ribbon Fairies. Instead of adding a hanging loop at the top, she attached her finished fairies to a coffee stirrer.
