2012 Trash & Treasures Along the Tenn-Tom – October 5-6, 2012

The 2012 Trash & Treasures along the Tenn-Tom is scheduled for Friday, October 5 & Saturday, October 6. The route of the massive yard sale starts at Pickwick Landing State Park north of Iuka, Mississippi, along Highway 25, including Burnsville, and follows the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to Macon, Mississippi. Thousands of sellers and buyers participated in past events and you are cordially invited to be a seller or buyer, or just come to visit.

Event organizers report that “people can sell Trash & Treasures for pocket money or funds for civic or church groups. Individual or group collections are welcome. Place your signs or ads as you prefer, but please observe all ordinances about signs or booths on public property.”

There is no charge to participate in this event.

Recognizing that tourism is a vital part of a community’s economic development, the Alabama-Mississippi Rural Tourism Conference is a collaborative effort focused on assisting smaller communities in bolstering tourism. Dynamic speakers will present innovative ideas and relevant information that attendees will find useful in facing the unique challenges of promoting rural tourism with limited budgets. This annual conference is hosted alternately between Alabama and Mississippi, however anyone associated with or interested in the rural tourism industry is invited to attend.
