So It - Goes Life Happens!

2019-12-10T14:46:00.000-08:00

Well so it goes...

In October I decided to come back, start blogging again.

Then Life Happened Again!

My life seems to be a series of putting me on the back burner to help in times of need with my family. First this family member and then the next. I am not complaining at all, it just is what it is and I am very blessed to be able to give of my time when people needed. I like being needed. But I also want to have more time :) Well we can't always have what we want now, can we.

Also, I'm thinking since the world of youtube and other video platforms, everyone seems to be Vlogging these days. I think about it and I may yet just add some video "vlogs" here. Not too sure about my wanting to start that whole thing yet if at all. I will think about it. Maybe one of my Avitar's would like to be my voice hostess on camera. I see that all the time too.

I have posted some books for sale in my ecrater store and I have a few things listed on eBay, which you can get to my eBay store at www.tennatreasures.com.

I have so much to do and so little time. I also want to be in my second life when I can. Can I wish for more time for Christmas this year? ok, that's rhetorical we know we all get the same amount of time in a day.

Well, that is it for today I guess. It seems my blog is more like a note in a journal and to promoting my online stores. Maybe I will find time to do better soon.

thanks for reading

I'm Coming Back - Been Gone Too Long

2019-10-19T11:03:00.002-07:00

Ok, I have decided to start blogging again. I am just me being me and trying new things all the time. Life can knock you down sometimes and I can go in so many different directions, but I really want to get back to my blogging and all the things I love to do on the net. A few things have changed and I will have to go through and make changes and do some updates to links that are no longer workable. So all my old posts are not visible right now but will be again soon after I fix them up. But this is a start just letting you the Internet world know I am coming back to blogger. you all have a great day and I will be back soon.

Long Time No Blog

2012-02-13T10:03:00.000-08:00

Well it's been since July since I posted anything, just lots going on. I am in a new home and new home office and still getting settled in. Lots of things still in the works of finishing up. You never know what will happen till all is said and done. But I am confident that things are going to go well here.

I am organizing my sale items again, and will be stocking my online stores again soon. I haven't any local photos to post recently. I don't get out in the winter much to take photos but when I do I will share.

Ok just touching base to let you know I am still around and hopefully will get back into my online working groove again. But that is the best thing about working from home. You can take time to take care of you when you need to.

Well if you need me you know how to reach me.

Thanks for your support.

Tenna.

Just A Few Kind Words

2011-06-25T15:05:00.000-07:00

I hope you are sharing your kindness, it really is easy and a smile and a small kindness goes such a long way in a world so quick to judge and hate and rush through their lives without thought or care to the people they pass about their way on each and every day. Just one smile, one kind word, one kind deed to give a little bit of joy and make someone's day a little brighter.

The Ledge

2011-06-23T14:48:00.000-07:00

I just watched a movie clip of "The Ledge" that stars Liv Tyler, I would watch the film just because she is in it but the movie is a thriller with a twist that includes the debate between a Christian and an Atheist. I am sure this film will cause much controversy or chatter at least in the realm of religion. I will go see it mostly because it is a thriller. It seems the film will intend to provoke many different emotions that a viewer might relate to such as love, lust, guilt, remorse, and anger. Even raise questions about their own spirituality. I guess I will have to just watch it see what I really think of the film but the trailer has enticed me. Then again I watch lots of movies this is just one more.

Here is the free full-length movie of "The Ledge"

The Venis Project The Vision of Jacque Fresco

2011-06-19T22:03:00.000-07:00

I was surfing through the movies in my netflix account yesterday looking for something a little different to watch. I watch a lot of movies. But anyway came across this documentary of sorts titled "Future By Design" I thought the film was remarkable but more remarkable was the man Jacque Fresco that has the vision of a world for humanity that entails nothing less than the total redesign of our culture. To build a brand new world from the ground up. To do away with our monetary system altogether. The man is quite interesting to listen to. He suggest that we can live without war, crime, poverty and truly become a civilized society.

There are lots of videos on youtube.com now just search out Jacque Fresco. He was interviewed by Larry King back in 1974 wish I could of seen that interview in full but I am only seeing clips of it from the movie an on youtube. Here is the preview of the movie I watched.

Here is a clip of his interview with Larry King in 1974...

He has a website and has tours of his place in Florida of "The Venus Project" the website itself is very interesting. He has lots to share about his vision and hopes that you will take part. Here is a video from his website.

Cicadas back in the Midwest after 13 years underground.

2011-06-16T07:35:00.000-07:00

The last I remember even seeing a cicada was when I was a child and my grandmother pointed them out to me. They were all over one of the trees in her yard, I was so afraid of them. They just gave me the creeps. Of course I have never been much of a bug lover but just something about the critters that only show up only every 13 years well you just don't see them much and the unknown to a child is a little scary I guess. Anyway came across the CBS News article that made me remember that, you can read about them on the CBS site with the link below. Should I say welcome back Cicadas?

History In Making For Illini vs. Wildcats

History In Making For Illini vs. Wildcats

Wrigley Field (AP) By Jack Lyman InsideIllini.com staff Date: Nov 19, 2010 Wow, it's a media extravaganza. The football game between the Fighting Illini and Northwestern in Wrigley Field is taking on historic proportions. The old ball diamond is getting a football makeover as ESPN's College Gameday comes to Chicago. Of course, there is also an important game to be played that has important implications for the Illini.

Life Explained

2010-11-10T17:54:00.000-08:00

A boat docked in a tiny Mexican village. An American tourist complimented the Mexican fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.

"Not very long," answered the Mexican.
"But then, why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the American.

The Mexican explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family. The American asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"

"I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs. I have a full life."

The American interrupted, "I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat.

""And after that?" asked the Mexican.

"With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City! From there you can direct your huge new enterprise."

"How long would that take?" asked the Mexican.

"Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years," replied the American.

"And after that?"

"Afterwards? Well my friend, that's when it gets really interesting," answered the American, laughing. "When your business gets really big, you can start buying and selling stocks and make millions!"

"Millions? Really? And after that?" asked the Mexican.

"After that you'll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends."

And the moral of this story is: ......... Know where you're going in life... you may already be there.

The Flour Parade

2010-11-10T16:19:00.000-08:00

I just can't seem to make home made egg noodles with out getting flour all over my tiny little kitchen/dinning room/living room. But is so worth it! Home made noodles are very inexpensive to make and you pair that with a whole chicken a few seasonings its a lot of food for little money and so good!photo © 2009 ben dalton | more info (via: Wylio)

I learned how to make home made noodles from my grandma and they were great. But when I went to The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago for one of the pasta classes I took. I learned how to make them the best! Nothing like grandma's recipes with a bit of science and art! The only bad thing now is I am all alone to eat them when they are finished, but that's ok I can share them with family. Left overs are always good too. Oh and I am topping it of with a really nice simple Chocolate Cake! YUM! So I guess the Flour Parade through my modest home is quite ok!

Driscoll Middle School Trick Play

2010-11-09T05:26:00.000-08:00

It's Worth A Look. Sure would love to know who thought that play up. I would also hate to be the other team or the coach of the other team. Was anyone paying attention at all? I bet it could not be played again. Did the clever tricksters win the game? I wonder I wonder.
