I filed for a divorce last summer due to abuse and his marital misconduct. I left the home that my aunt left to us in her will and rented an apt. He has been living there free. Six years ago I purchased $4000 of new metal roofing with my own inheritance money and he promised to install it. I used a debit card. The account has been long closed. Bank has no records now. He immediately changed his story and told me he would install the roof "if I would pay him what a professional roofer would charge!" This was for our own home!!! The roofing is still in boxes on the carport untouched. In my divorce I have asked the materials be returned to me. He has been living free and my rent is high. I am barely surrviving. I was hoping to sell the roofing. I also found out he has not paid the property tax on the house in three years as he was telling me he had. I do not want my aunt's home taken. He hired a lawyer today. We were supposed to go to court tomorrow. Everything is on hold again and they are demanding I show proof that I purchased the roofing. I have no receipt from six years ago. Would Lowed have a record from then matching my debit card? He has done nothing but take from my family for 20 years. Even the vehicle he has and all the teeth in his mouth were paid for by my family members. I need help please. He has taken so much and this is the first time it is financially and ethically important for me to win. Could a PI get proof of an old transaction like that? I am at a loss. Thank you so much for any ideas.
How Do I Obtain Proof To Support My Case?

Today the ex and I went for mediation over a "contempt" case that he had filed on me. After coming to an agreement on several issues without any problems, we were left with him providing me with a copy of his tax return and changing the exchange point of the children. At first, my ex agreed to changing the meeting point but ONLY if I agreed that NO ONE could come with me (including my fiance, soon to be husband). When I said 'no' and suggested that from here on out, we just stay in vehicles and kids get out to go to other vehicle. My ex agreed to that IF I would drop the issue of him providing me with his tax return information. This is in our divorce decree and I have followed it every year since it was final - he has yet to do it. I know he's hiding income (esp. for child support purposes so that's his big deal with giving me a copy). When I again said no about the tax return (he already had a copy of mine at this point), he suddenly decided that he didn't want anyone, especially my fiance coming to pickup/drop-off the kids again. The other big issue for my ex was that my kids call him "dad" and my fiance "daddy". My fiance has been in my kids' lives EVERY day for the past 5 years - my ex didn't come back into their lives until about 2 years ago. The biggest fight came over this and I was ORDERED by the mediator to transition the kids into calling my fiance something else.

The mediator started telling me that I needed to just drop all of my complaints, agree to not bringing my fiance, agree to him not giving me tax return and get it over with because I would just be humiliated in court and waste everyone's time. I didn't think that a mediator was supposed to take sides?? He kept telling me that he heard a case over the same issues, what the results were and how it would be the same for me. After 3.5 hours and $300 later, I was so emotionally and mentally exhausted that I just signed the agreement and got it over with. I couldn't take anymore - the h
