If you're a tennis fan, then you probably saw this live last night. Serena was called for a foot fault at 15-30 in the second set. She was also down 5-6 in the second set after already losing the first set to Kim Clijsters. Serena went on an obscenity-laced tirade, and according to sources, this is what she said that caused the line judge to approach the umpire, "If I could I would take this ****ball and shove it down your ***** throat and kill you." I hate that this is how the match ended, but even if the foot fault was a bad call, Serena shouldn't have done what she did.

Melanie Oudin's Post-Match Interview After She Took Out Jankovic At Wimbledon

Like everyone else in the country, I can't get enough of my hometown girl Melanie Oudin. I remember seeing this interview earlier this year at Wimbledon after she took out #1 seed Jelena Jankovic to advance to the round of 16. I don't think any but Melanie thought at that point she would continue her amazing success at the U.S. Open, but she has. Melanie is playing against Caroline Wozniacki in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open tonight. Win or lose Melanie, you've made Marietta and Georgia very proud!

Serena Williams Moves On At The Aussie Open... Barely

"Serena Williams went searching for her first serve, once with a tirade so X-rated that she earned a warning from the chair umpire.

Victoria Azarenka went searching for the shade until she wobbled and almost toppled over and finally, as she was sobbing into her hands, had to quit, held up on each side as she left Rod Laver Arena.

Williams, seeded No. 2, had nothing to brag about after her 3-6, 4-2 (ret.) fourth-round win over the 13th-seeded Azarenka.

At the end of the first set, having placed only 56% of her first serves in the box, Williams screamed at herself, using a word that caused a gasp from the crowd.

But even in the early going -- when Azarenka, a 19-year-old from Belarus who wore a ruffled blue skirt that didn't seem to fit with her bombastic groundstrokes, was pushing Williams around the court -- she was always looking for a place out of the sun.

After Azarenka held serve to stay only one break down at 2-3 in the second set, both players took injury timeouts. Azarenka left the court and Williams retaped both ankles.

When the match restarted Azarenka was clearly in distress. She was coughing and seemed close to fainting. Her illness was a mild case of gastroenteritis, according to tournament officials. In other words, an upset stomach."

Del Potro Bad Mouths Murray's Mom On Court in Italy

I just finished watching Andy Murray beat Juan Martin Del Potro in the quarterfinals of this year's U.S. Open. During the match, the commentators (Ted and Jim) were mentioning how there's a lot of bad blood between the two due to a match earlier this year. Here's the video of the incident. Here's an excerpt from an article I found explaining the incident:

The soundtrack on television recordings indicated that the flare-up began during a change of ends in the second set, after Murray raised the issue of why Del Potro had not said sorry after drilling a ball towards his head. Murray has known Del Potro since their junior days, and they have since chatted on the internet, and so he expected an apology. But Del Potro responded by snapping that Murray and his mother had not changed, and were "always the same".

The young men raged on their chairs - tennis does seated arguments better than any other sport - with Murray insisting that Del Potro’s comment about his mother had been "unacceptable".

The best part of the video to me is the commentators. Their solution: Just let them duke it out like hockey players. That might be one way to get more people into the stands for these early round matches.... Enjoy!
