So, since moisture is a requirement for termites, this should tell you that some of the best ways to prevent subterranean termites without using toxic chemicals, is to:Termites treatment

Remove any moisture sources from around your home. This includes any standing water.
Repair any leaking downspouts, gutters and flashing.
Repair leaking pipes, or faucets that drip.

Temptation
Also, temptation is hard enough for even a human to resist, (just ask a kid in a candy store!) so, some other natural prevention methods are to:Termites treatment

Remove any firewood that is stacked up anywhere near your home. I've seen infestations that started in stacks of firewood, and ended up in the home.
Stack all firewood above the ground in a metal, (or some material other than wood) firewood stand.
Do not use pine-nuggets, or any type of wood chips as ground cover! (Sorry, pine-nugget industry)
If you want to use a decorative ground cover, consider lava-rock, granite, gravel or decorative marble and other stone chips. I know they are more expensive, but they last longer than wood chips and they're not appetizers for termites (plus they look better, IMHO!)
Do not store cardboard or any wooden boxes directly on the dirt in your crawl-space, or around the perimeter of your home.
Do not allow any wood-to-ground contact around your home. If any wooden siding, or fence posts etc. has direct ground contact, dig the dirt out until it's not touching your home.
Make sure pressure-treated wood is used for decking, porches, fences, etc.
Do not set up gardens directly beside the home, gardens need moisture, and as we've said, moisture around the house is a big no-no.
If you are building a house, use sheet metal flashing as termite guards under the sill-plate, and around support piers, to prevent termites from tunneling up from the ground. There is also a product called termimesh which is a stainless steel mesh screen that is applied around pipes to prevent termites from tunneling up through concrete, slab-type construction.Termites treatment

There are many more practical things that a homeowner can do that doesn't require laying down your hard earned cash, or using toxic chemicals. One of the more important things to remember is, if you have a crawl space, make sure you have the required amount of air vents per square foot of home, to maintain the proper moisture levels under and in your home.Termites treatment

Step 8 - Next, grab your shovel and push the dirt back into the trench. Make sure when doing so that the dirt is compact and compressed. This can be accomplished by using the back side of the shovel. Termites always return to their home base for moisture, and when denied access they will ultimately die. Termites that happen to be in the tunnel system will be killed off by the fuel application.
