Protestant Church beliefs aren't the Same with the Church Members on Homosexuality in USA - We in Sri Lanka, where are we

The Assemblies of God believes strongly that God has declared great displeasure and opposition toward homosexual conduct. However, He yearns to restore and forgive all who come to Him, including homosexuals. Unfortunately, many today mislabel those who speak out against the sin of homosexuality as hate-mongers and prejudiced people seeking to oppress and take away the rights of homosexuals. But these persons view homosexuality from a skewed social perspective devoid of true biblical morality. The Church, however, is called to be faithful to God’s Word in all things. This belief of the Assemblies of God Church in the USA, has to be closely followed, as a study conducted by the Pew Research Center has found out the following results, amongst the members of many Protestant denominations' acceptance of Homosexuality. One thing that stands out in this survey is that the AOG members who have been questioned in this survey by and large appears to be the least accomodative towards Homosexuality. This may be due to the beliefs of the Church that would have trickled down to the lives of the members. However the % increase within a span of 7 years, has to be looked upon with some seriousness. From 16% in 2007, it had increased to 26%, which is an increase of 62.5%. This is the highest % increase from the other church memberships.

As a believer who attends a church of the Assemblies of God in Sri Lanka, and a person to whom a burden is been given by the Lord, I'm closely watching the developments of members and believers in and around the country. According to my present evaluation, day by day the tolerance level for Homosexuals and for the LGBT lifestyle outside the belief of the Church is on the rise amongst members in Sri Lanka too. But it happens under the carpet.

God's Love is not the Love the LGBT or Homosexuals understand, and that is what should be informed to the lost society, who must be saved from the dungeons of HELL. This will not happen, by debating and arguing of the scriptures, but through intimate relationship with the Lord. How? by getting guided by our graceful God Himself.

God reveals a secret

I'm on a fast for the last 3 to 4 weeks.God gave me an urge to come to Him with Fasting. As we are praying and exploring His word in a period of fasting, I too kept Praying to the Lord while reading His word every moment available. Today God did an awesome thing. He revealed an amazing secret to me, which prompted me to post. God spoke to me through Luke chapter 1 verse 13. I was actually reading through Luke 1:1-13. It speaks about Zechariah, and his wife Elizabeth, then the appointment of Zechariah to go into the Temple to burn incense. Then the word says that while he was performing is duties an Angel appear. Then the Angel says thus in 1:13: But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John (KJV)......Ok Ok this is that verse about God choosing Elizabeth to bear John the Baptist. But what God revealed to me is this. In this verse the Angel says that God has heard Zechariah's prayers. AND they are answered. HOW? by choosing Elizabeth his wife to bear a boy who must be called John. Now God has been listening to his prayers, and we can easily understand that Zechariah would have been praying to God about their worry of not having children. As Zechariah and Elizabeth would have been married for sometime, Zechariah surely would have been asking God for children for many many years. When he came to this encounter with the Angel, he was pretty old. Then the Angel gives him God's message, that God has really answered his prayers, but.......do you think Zechariah wanted John, can you say that Zechariah even asked God for a child during that time. I don't think so, may be you might think, but it is hard for me to think that an old man would do that. As I've stopped at verse 13, and if you keep reading further you will find that Zechariah doubted, and he wanted to be sure.

Then the Angel says, he is Gabriel, and he stands in the presence of God, and as Zechariah did not believe he will be silent. But that part was read by me only when I started writing this post. At verse 13, what God made me understand is that my prayers will be heard by Him. But when He answers, it will be according to His plan and time. Zechariah did not ask for a name for the Child, but the Angle told him the Name. Zechariah did not plan to make John a jungle man, eating locusts, and drinking wild honey. But God had a plan for the Child. Zechariah would have prayed before he was old, when he thought they wanted a Child, may be when they were young, and newly married, may be when their friends and neighbors who had married after them had children, may be when those children were getting older, or may be when those children got older and married. Thereafter do you think He would have been praying to God? I mean when Zechariah's friends became Grandfathers, do you think He would have prayed? No way. But do you know God answers even our Old prayers.

This is what God did to me, when I was meditating. He took me back to my childhood, and made me think all the prayers I said in the years upto now, and how they were answered. I realized that all those were answered, and when they were answered it had not been the way I wanted, but ALL THOSE ANSWERS HAD BEEN TO BRING GLORY TO GOD, TO BRING HONOUR TO HIM, AND ACCORDING TO FULFILL HIS PLAN FOR ME, FOR MY FAMILY, AND TO HIS OVERALL CAUSE. Also those answers were more than I had asked at the time. God revealed to me with proof from the His Word, and my past encounters that even the prayers I'm saying today will be answered. When they are answered.... God's glory will prevail. That's for sure. Thank you Jesus for your wonderfulness, and your Grace is immeasurable. Praise God. Amen.

Christians Sow in Spirit, and Reap in Due Season.

You reap what you sow. This is something that we have heard, whether we are Christians or not. In the Bible there are several verses, which refer to this quote. But the most notable passage that touched my heart, and God wants to share with you,is in Galatians, Chapter 6 verse 7 through 9. Verse 7 says not to be deceived, that God is not mocked, what soever man sows, that shall he also reap. As I'm in Sri Lanka, sowing and reaping is something that I encounter very regularly. Every one does good deeds, in order to get good deeds in return. Like what goes around, comes around. So much so that All religious workers, be it Christians, Buddhists, Hindus or Muslims, they all want their believers to do so, and the believers too want to do that. Helping, sharing, giving, all this is inherent in Humans. That's how Humans are made.It works for every one. I know there are many people who are well to do in every thing, be it money, wealth, work or Business. I mean just see Mark Zuckerberg, he wants to give 99% of his wealth to charity right?People in any religion do great. That is a fact. But this is what we see, feel and hear, every day.

But when you read further into the verse 8, the difference between a Christian and others are known.
It says if you sow in flesh, then through flesh you will reap. But then it will reap corruption. What does that mean? Does it mean that every one that sow in flesh, reaps corruption. Then what about the Christians, the things that we want to do in faith, by using our bodies. We are doing things in order to achieve things, to realize our dreams. We have so much to get. We too want more. We too want to have more. In order to achieve we use our Brains, hands, legs etc. Aren't they flesh?

This is one of the Hard questions that we should ask ourselves, as Christians of today. As Christians, we can't be like non-Christians. 1st we should know who the non-Christians are. Verse 8 aptly explains to us the difference. The ones that sow in flesh, and the ones that sow in spirit. That's it. If you are a Christian you must know whether you sow in Flesh or in Spirit. If not you are a non-Christian. Period. Understanding this is not so easy. If you really ask your self, whether you are a sower in flesh or in spirit, what do you feel? But God is good, He want's us to be the right child. He helps us, in spirit to strengthen our spirit.

Then we come to the last verse, the verse 9. It says that we should do good, without growing weary. Because in due season we will reap. IN DUE SEASON WE WILL REAP.......hallelujah......IN DUE SEASON WE WILL REAP......IF....WE....DO...NOT....GIVE.....UP.

Bingo, it hits on the nail, so hard. We must know if we call ourselves Christians, that what we sow is sown in Spirit, then we will enjoy a life that's everlasting, and we should not grow weary, and keep doing the good things, and at the right time, in due season, we SHALL reap. We must understand, that the secret to our success, comes in due season. You can't control that, only in due season we will reap. This verse says not to give up, till we come to the due season to reap. That is how God has created, this is God's Work. We can't meddle with it. You can't do it alone. But God chose you, because He want's you to be like that. That's why we have to keep doing, keep going, without being weary. God's Love is awesome, His Grace can not be fathomed. He wants you to be a person living in Spirit and, not in Flesh. But only if you want. If you want, then talk to Him, keep talking to Him, keep experiencing Him, keep going with Him. You are His Treasure. your Family is His. He is the Almighty. He has the Almighty power to make you, like what He wants you to be. Do not give up, Do not grow weary. Then in due season, God will give you His harvest and, you will certainly Reap. Happy? are you really Happy? Then praise God. May God Bless You.

Great to be back

After many years I'm back. Great things happened during this long pause. God is awesome. Even though I'm inconsistent God is not. If God was inconsistent the way we are, imagine what would happen. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Praise God.........

My GOD is Great............

It was between August and September 2007, I was financially broke........ I had a lot of obligations, but just couldn't meet my ends meet. Me, my wife and my 8 year old son, were strugling, and it was unbearable. I wish no one should go through a pain like that. The trauma of not knowing how to fulfil the must be met needs, is beyond one's explanation. This is the month my child will be moving to his new Grade for his 1st term. We had to find money for his term fees, new clothes and Books for a new Year. Apart from this I had to find money for mortgage payments which were in areas, the electricity bill was also unpaid for some time. I actually could not bare, that was the truth. Well I believe in the mightyness of the Lord, because if you go thru' my earlier postings, I should know that the Lord is a good Lord. But my humanness just could not hold on to this pain. You see, when you wait on the Lord and, believe that he opened a door to sort your problems out, and you very well know that if you realise those opportunities you will certainly over come your pain....... but day by day when you see that it was only a mirage, you have been misled to believe what you believed in, and that it was not realy something that the Lord sent you to accomplish what you desperatley need to sort your financial worries. What a pain it is, I wish this should not happen to any one. Days were nearing, I'm struggling with the Lord, my wife is worried, when I look at my sons innocent face, and his play full life, with little dreams of going to his school, for the new year, with all new books, uniforms, bags and all the goodies...... how can I bare. I just could not face the situation. How many times I cried on to the Lord, how many times I was weak and helpless, only God will know. Then came this Saturday, somewhere at the end of August 2008, I prayed, went to the internet cafe to see mails, thinking that something might click. I'm sorry I did not mention the door that was opened by the Lord, that was to post blocks of properties on the web,for interested parties to inquire and invest into properties. So this day there was an inquiry about my mobile number, this mailer was from the U.K. So I sent the number, and went home, dejected, and dissapointed. That very evening I got a call from a lady in Panadura, south of Colombo, in Sri Lanka, inquirying of a land that I've posted on the web about 2 months ago. The details were given, and this lady bought the land for his son in the U.K. I got paid for the service, and was more than enough to meet my needs. I waited for the Lord to help me, I learnt that waiting for his deliverence is never easy, you need descipline, you need his guidance to walk with him, it was not easy but waiting paid off, because today today I can live with more confidence, and strength to face up to the future. Jesus is doing a mighty miracle in my life

I'm encountered with a few experiences in my life, during the last few weeks. One encounter is that I could not access the blog,as my office stopped us from using the Internet as they had faced some virus threats.But I praise GOD as he gave me the opportunity to use a different facility to update my blog. I did not receive new testimonies from any of the veiwers, but as I mentioned above I'm sure the good lord will allow me to share my experiences very soon, till then I will update the blog with what ever lord leads me to. A Tea Planters Testimony........

I am a planter working in sri lanka for the last 23 years in various areas of the country. I joined as a planter at a very young age .I was never close to GOD until certain things happened to me in life. I now thank GOD for those events in my life. I was a young lad who used to drink, smoke go for parties and generally have fun as a young man would explain. But things changed slowly which I did not realize till recently. My GOD has given me great blessings for that I am thankful to him and I am thankful that I have the blessings of e-mail access to share it with you. In the year 2003 I was serving in a company in which the general manager, and I did not see eye to eye.This problem had a great effect on me. I was physically and mentally drained out as he was all out to sack me from my job. I could not afford to be on the road even for one day as my finances were very poor. I had only one option,and that was to pray, and pray to the Lord about my problem. This went on for about six months. I was getting the feeling that my prayers were not heard. One day one of my friends called and asked me to join their company which I was delighted to do. I knew that my GOD has looked after me and not forsaken me. I give thanks to GOD for having given that blessing. Now I was working in my present company very well and as a result three planters were sent abroad for a training programme (I was also one of them) last year. The training programme was for one month. During this time the next in command was to over look me. The Chairman of the company asked me whether he was suitable for the job and I recommended him proudly to over look my work for two reasons, one being that I trained him as a planter, and I was proud that he was considered by the company to overlook my job. The second and importantly I trusted that he will not let me down, and would not do anything bad or unethical during my overseas stay. We left the country in the middle of 2006.After my training I came back, and the company and all the other people welcomed me, praised me .I felt on top of the world at that time. Two to three months later I realized that my trusted assistant had let me down very badly. The factory stocks were short by 1500 kilos of tea. He had shown false profits and mismanaged the plantation. The company officals were after me.Blaming culture was the order of the day. I used to dread going to work. I was falling sick.... could not concentrate on the job...... felt lost.... no friends around...... Gossip was going around, that the company wanted me out as soon as they could. One bright morning one of the D.G.Ms of the company came to my estate and told me that "you are bad you cannot run this plantation. Find a job, and get out, or you will be sacked, and this is the end of the road for you in this company". That night I was sad. A sense of hopelessness got to me after 23 years of hard work. Is this what I should get. I just got to my knees and prayed and prayed. I knew that my Lord will not forsake me! The next morning I got up and said to myself "No I will not allow any one to throw me out of my job. I am going to get my Lord to guide me and no one else". I started re- organizing the estate to get new ideas..... reset goals, and moved forward. I knew that in all my decisions GOD would be with me. The 1st six months of 2007 has gone. I was once again seated to prepare for the six months review meeting. I was surprised to see what GOD has done to me and this plantation within the last six months! This estate is the 1st in rank in the entire company in tea prices! Has made profits of over 2 million and is heading to make the highest profits ever made on this plantation. I THANK GOD FOR THE BLESSINGS GIVEN TO ME. I thought of sharing my life’s experiences with you as it is said that you should give praise and thanks toGOD and to tell others how GOD works in your life. I am glad to be a witness to GOD, and to bring praise and thanks to GOD, for what he has done to me. Why I gave up alcohol………….

Moving with my friends was a great experience for me. After a hard days’ work, an enjoyable week – end, a night out grooving to great music, and all cool stuff as we may call it, was the sources of satisfaction for me, in my life before I got my self in to the Church going practice, in 1993. For every moment of enjoyment, alcohol was an obvious choice to lift my spirits high. I must confess that, even after my enthusiasm to know the Lord, more and more, the habit of keeping company with a Bottle was on, until one great day, that I can remember even now. It was when I was reading the Bible in my daily devotion. The Lord really touched me, that day from Ephesians 15:18-20. It says not to get filled with wine, but be filled with the Holy Spirit and sing psalms, and hymns, making melody in our hearts, always giving thanks for all things to GOD. By the grace of GOD, my knowledge of Songs and Hymns increased. Thanks giving increased. I praise GOD that because of the power of his word, I have enjoyed the wonders of his holiness. GODS' SPIRIT IS NOT OF TIMIDITY BUT OF POWER................

I suffered from Endemetriosis for 1 year,it is a cyst in the ovaries.It was very painful as the size was 10cm.I had a terrible back pain and tummy pain.I had to sleep with the hot water bottle and was eternally on painkillers.Worst of all I had to go to work,sometimes I took the hotwater bottle to work as the pain use to become unbearable.I had used the hotwater bottle so much that the skin on my back was burnt and it left a huge scar,still it was my only solace.I use to be awake at night usually from 2am-4am and had to wake up at 5.30am to go to work.Before the diagnosis of Endemetriosis I had physiotherapy and medicine for back ache,but found no relief,I use to lay awake and cry out to the Lord as I had no one except my husband.We are away from our home country and there were no friends or relatives to help.Finally the Lord guided me to a Gynaecologist who identified my case and after an MRI scan said that I needed to have surgery but could not do so right now as the cyst was huge and if she operated right away that it could affect other organs close by.So I was on medication for 3months to reduce the cyst.It was a trying time as I underwent dizzy spells as well as nausea. I was also very afraid and one day I came across this bible verse;"for God has not given us a spirit of timidity(of cowardice,of craven and cringing and fawning fear) but he has given us a spirit of power and of love and of a calm and well balanced mind an discipline and self control" 2Timothy 1:7 after which I realised that fear is not from God.Then onwards my mind was calm and I had much peace. Isiah 41:10 For I the Lord your God hold your right hand:I am the Lord who says to you Fear not: I will help you. Finally on the first of July I underwent the operation and the care I received from the hospital and nurses as well as the theater nurses were amazing.I had not felt such love and compassion in ages.I also got to know that the doctor I was led to is the best in the Country.It was purely the Lords work to lead me to her and receive the best medical care.I am in the process of recovery and I thank my God everyday for the wonderful way that he was near me holding my hand every step of the way.The scar on my back has completely vanished now and I am on the way to total recovery.The doctor gave me painkillers after the operation to be taken 3 times a day but I did not need to take them.Remember -if God is with you who can be against you? How our Baby was Born.....

If you are a Cricket fan you would probably, remember the year 1999. 17th of June 1999, was the Day South Africans took on the Champion Favourites Australia on a semi-finals encounter, we watched this match with great excitement. But the day finished with a lot of tension for my wife,me and our relatives..... My wife was admitted to the Hospital a little before midnight for the delivery of our baby. My wife had rheumatic carditis, so she was on penicillin, every month. One of her arteries were thinner due to the sickness, so delivering a baby had only to be an act of GOD. But by the touch of our mighty GOD, she had no signs of un easiness due to this, entire 9 months she had strength and courage, more importantly eager-to-go feeling, even when others doubted. The night of the 17th June was agonising for my wife, while she was in labour pains, she had started bleeding, but the Doctor who was watching her, had insisted on a normal delivery. Until 5 o'clock in the morning she had been bleeding, but the Doctors have taken it lightly. A little after 5 a.m. the Senior doctor whom we had been consulting through out the 9 months had visited her had immediately taken her to the theatre. The baby was taken out with a Cesarean. But due to a placenta previa, the baby had been out of the womb while inside, and was born breathless. For about 5 minutes he has not responded. Finally after he was resuscitated, he was immediately taken to an incubator for further scrutiny. We had know clue as to why this was happening. We had two problems lingering in our minds, one was my wife's sickness as the cause of this, second was the treatment for rubella she took about 2 months before tested positive of pregnancy. No Doctor could explain to both of us the reason why our baby was in the incubator, no relative or Friend could help us, during this torrid time. No! not even one could comfort us, instead we were depressed and de-moralized by our own relatives,except for some of our dear people who strengthened us in the lord,and prayed unceasingly. Some thought that our baby will have to go. Some said even if He were to live, He will be a differently abled person. We had no hope,except for some of our dear people,who strengthened us in the Lord. But as humans we were weak, had no strength to go on. We had only one option, TO PRAY TO OUR MIGHTY GOD. Because he brought us up until the time the baby came to this world, against all odds. We were both unceasingly prayed. Wife prayed in the hospital corridors, bed, toilet, and where ever she could be alone. I prayed in office,Roads, Paddy Fields, where ever I could be alone. The crying, the trauma no body new. 2 weeks our baby was under intensive care. Finally after 2 weeks the Lord delivered our baby. Doctors said he might have Brain damages, but today his pet subjects are Mathematics and Information Technology. He is showing overall success in all the subjects. In sports too he is very energetic. When doctors wanted us to be care full with him, the LORD has made him a healthy successful child. Above all he loves Jesus. One subject he excels in is Christianity...... to know more and more of the LORD. Praise be to our LORD GOD JESUS CHRIST for our son HERSCHELLE ( I gave him this name in remembrance of the semi-final match we were watching during the day before he was born to this world. How I came to the Lord

It was in 1993, I had a free life, had a good job, had just won the All Island Ballroom Dance Sport competition in my category, and I was having a steady relationship with the one I wanted to be my future wife. We were discussing dates for our marriage, but all of a sudden, she wanted to stop the affair, sighting parental objections. But to my dismay I got to know that she has cheated me for a another man. This was something I just couldn't bear. I was finding ways of revenge,and I finally settled to bring permanent damage to her life. I plotted to throw acid on her face, in order to disfigure her and suffering for the rest of her life. I thought she deserved this for cheating me. I knew people, whom I could use for this, as I had connections to that part of life too.Whilst plotting like this, on the invitation of my Mother, I started attending church, I heard that Lord can really talk to us, because he is a living GOD. I slowly started loving the Sunday Church attendance, as I wanted to get more and more closer to GOD. One day GOD spoke to me even though I did not realize it at that time, now I know that those were the words of the Lord. He said" Son, if one bad thing happens to your life, start doing 1000 times good things out of your life". I started asking the Lord to guide me to do good things,and how much has he done for me. How much He has done, and doing in order to live a life that's truly transformed. Filth was all over me at that time, but today, He has given me strength that I can't stand those words that I loved to utter at that time. Through His word He guided me to totally give up my alcohol, and all the sinful stuff I used to do. In return the Lord has given me a wonderful wife, a great and miraculous child, a happy family and all what I want, to live a life that is a living testimony to the LORD. I praise the lord for what he has done,and keep doing in my life. EsGee.

Greetings in the Name of Jesus, My dear friends,and children of God, it is with great pleasure I'm posting this message, on this Day the 11th of July 2007. I've been praying to the lord for sometime now to start a ministry on the web,and today I believe that the lord has touched me, giving me the opportunity to start this blog up. I'm sure the good lord will help this to root up in his holy place, and keep branching out, for the betterment of his all mighty Church. The reason why we even go to the extent of sacrificing our lives, is because we have experienced the touching of the lord Jesus Christ the only true,and living God. There is no doubt that the Lord has chosen us, by giving us this great experience to know,and understand that he has saved us,and chosen us to be his children in order to be with him for eternity. We equally know how wonderfull and joyous, to live as a witness of this great and loving GOD. If we really know the value of living with our almighty GOD, I'm sure you would do every thing to help all the lost in this evil World to come to the loving hands of the Lord. My dear friends will you refuse to witness for the Lord, if you are given a chance to share the Testimony that has saved you to be a Child of GOD? If you want to be a witness to the LORD and really want to see that the lost of this world turning to accept JESUS CHRIST as there personal saviour and the LORD, here is your chance. Go ahead share your testimony in this blog. It could be the Testimony that brought you to the lord, and all the preceding testimonies of your life, as and when you think you should share them to lift the name of the Lord high.
