I don't normally share too much of my music favorites but today I was excited to find out the beautiful Kat Von D (who I've always admired) married the singer of the group Prayers Rafael Reyes (Leafar Seyer).

My morning began like any other on this particular day. I went on my Facebook and scrolled through my feed. Out of no where there was an ad for The Damned playing at the House of Blues in Anaheim later in the evening.
First and foremost The Damned is one of those timeless bands that foreshadow all other bands. Like they're there and there not going no where.
I casually mentioned it to my husband knowing there was no chance in hell of us going. Well surprisingly he seemed immensely interested.
Like he kept pushing that I should buy tickets.
I had doubt because we don't have a babysitter and that pretty much kills us ever going out by ourselves.
So reluctantly I purchased 2 tickets for that evening show.
As the time was nearing I was getting anxious because I knew his mom is wishy washy on keeping her word but at the last minute she agreed to watch our kids.
So we got ourselves ready and took off. Like I mentioned in the title I have not been to a concert in years! Since like 2006...
We got there in time to watch the opening act. Got a couple drinks. Went to the main floor. After an hour or so the band finally came out.
Let's just say it was pretty amazing! Like damn, Dave Vanian is really timeless. And the Captain, pure talent on the guitar!
The crowd was alright for a bunch of older rockers and some young punks trying to mosh pit.
I got stepped on by a big guy getting kicked out by security.
The bartender was a bit of a pompous jerk.
The best part was that we were only a few people away from the front stage. I could clearly see the band play. How many times can you say that with a general admission ticket to see a big band play? Rarely, if ever. But over all the night was great. I can now say I got to see one of my favorite bands live💜. It'll always be one of my favorite memories!

Trinket Liquid Lipstick by Sugarpill

I have been a fallower of the creator of Sugarpill for a long time!!! Since Amy used to sell her clothes on eBay that she tailored and made. Super creative and beautiful indeed she is!
I have been wanting her Sugarpill eyeshadows forever, but have not bought any yet🙁 dunno why, just haven't.
There's been all this hype about her liquid lipstick in the color Trinket. It's now on it's 3rd batch and from what I've heard two of the batches are a bit different from each other. I wouldn't know since I just bought it 2 wks back when I was emailed that it was restocked for the 3rd batch. Jumped on it and bought it! Here's my review on it-

Loved the outer packaging and the free sticker is super cute.

Didn't get the cute cartoon on the tube like the first batch sadly but still cute.

Swatch on my hand. I'm NC40 in MAC. Early Tan in Colorstay.

Without flash you can see the beautiful gold glitter on it once it's dried.

With flash on the color looks very washed out and does not compliment my skintone at all. I kinda don't like it on me. It's one of those shades that looks good on fair girls with pink undertones and not warm.undertones. I don't want to mess with the formula but I kinda want to add a little coral liquid lipstick to warm it up.

Final thoughts-

Not worth 20 bucks. Doesn't look good on my skin tone. Awesome staying formula with cool glitter but not digging the mauviness, not warm.enough for me.

Halloween 5k Race

I got to run a Halloween 5k this weekend in Whittier. Runners got the chance to dress up in costumes for a chance to win awards.

I didn't win any awards other than the medal itself that was handed out to all the runners.
I was hoping to place atleast 3rd in my age division but I didn't.
I was surprised to discover that your literally running up a hill half of the run. So for about a mile and a half I was dragging myself to just try to get to a mile mark. It was brutal but somehow I finished at about 38 minutes. Will I ever run it again? Probably not. I really dislike running hills, period.

It was a family friendly atmosphere though and I did enjoy that aspect of it.
After the race they served the runners a pancake breakfast. That was fun too.

Jeffree Star Costmetics Review- Beauty Killer Pallete

Alot of people want to side with or against Jeffree Star, but I don't want to talk about that. His personal life choices are his own. We all make mistakes in our pasts, so I can't say anything about his.

Now let's get on with this review post!

My first item that I bought was the Beauty Killer Pallete. I fell for the hype and bought the 2nd batch after the first batch one sold out. Is it worth the price? Yes. You get a huge amount of product for a fourth of the price of individual designer name eyeshadows.

The pigment on all the colors are 5/5. You will get your money's worth out of every eyeshadow in the entire pallete. I barely swatched and the color came out from what you see in pan.

Diversity in the shades. There are neutrals, brights, shimmery, glittery, and matte. All the above is in there. You can create so many looks with just one pallete. Imagine all the other looks once you add eyeshadows with it you already own?!

I love my pallete💜 I highly recommend it!

My First Piece in an Art Show

I got to be in my first art show two weeks ago in Riverside. I had never been to that city before so needless to say it took us a long time to drive there during rush hour.
And finding the actual venue was a disaster on it's own. I asked some lady if she knew the address. She pointed me in the opposite direction of the building when it was literally across that pathway. FML.
We got there an hour and a half late from when I was suppose to be there to set up my piece😕😖
They weren't very happy. But hey, I made it! Better late then never🙃

Interesting Shops- BOOKOFF inside Westminster Mall

I'm going to start a new blog post series about interesting and hidden shops in and around Orange County.

If your into collecting anything and everything from comic books, dvds, and manga this shop is for you!

BOOKOFF is a store on the bottom level of the Westminster Mall by the Sears side. This week by chance we discovered it.

My first impression when I walked in was is this a thrift store? The first two aisles are knick knacks that can be found at your local Goodwill. Wasn't really excited but decided to keep going through each section.
By the 3rd aisle my eyes were popping out of my head. They have video games for different systems. And dvds super cheap! If you love Disney movies their dvds are 5 bucks!!! Hello!!!

Theres an aisle full of nothing but anime books and another with comic books.
The interesting part is that they sell and buy!

That's right, so if you have a ton of collectables they'll buy from you! And you can also score some great deals here! Their selection of items are always changing.
It's worth the drive if you want to go during the week and check it out!

Westminster Mall Diectory BOOKOFF Directions

Carnation Cafe Main Street U.S.A Disneyland

One of Walt Disney's favorite restaurants inside of Disneyland, Carnation Cafe has that special touch that only it's creator Walt could've created!

How awesome is that to know your eating at a place that he ate at himself over 50 years ago?!

We got the chance to dine on a random Monday evening. Luckily I checked reservations on their phone app which allowed me to secure a spot and we were able to check in within an hour.

When we got to Carnation Cafe, needless to say, they were turning people away who did not have reservations.

(I highly recommend getting the official Disneyland app from the apple or play store. It can be a life saver while your at the park.)

They ended up seating us outside which is amazing because if you time it just right you get to watch the parade while eating. And, if so, I suggest reservations for the 7:30 spot.

I was expecting a much bigger menu but instead recieved a much smaller and simpler one page.

I went with the Meatloaf meal which consists of mashed potatoes with a mushroom gravy, seasoned veggies, and a bread roll.

This was Walts favorite meal at the park. And let me tell you guys I now know why and I agree with him:)

The meatloaf's meat is moist and well seasoned. The ketchup on the outside adds sweetness to the hardy bold meat taste. And the mushroom gravy gives it that salty savory taste that mixes so well when dipped in it.

Dang guys, it was good!!!

As for my husband he went with the Veggie Burger. He said it was just "ok".

I had to take a bite and try it out. Honestly, it's the worst veggie burger I have ever tried. Really mushy and bland.

If your vegetarian and have no other choice but to eat something inside the park do it but it tasted bland in my opinion. All bean flavor with no texture and little seasoning. My daughter got the boneless chicken kid's meal. Pretty much a chicken tender with mashed potatoes and broccoli. She loved it!
It's the same recipe as the Plaza Inn, which we frequent.

I highly recommend Carnation Cafe but mainly for the Meatloaf meal. All the other items can be found throughout other parts of the park.

Medieval Times Dinner and Tournaments

If you ever have a chance to visit one I highly recommend it. I got the chance to go to the one in Buena Park recently thanks in part to winning a pair of tickets from last year. We had to use them up before they expired so we made a day out of it!
Best time to go in my opinion is during the week. Less crowds and less tourists. As you walk up they ask you for your confirmation number and name. If you don't have one you can purchase tickets up front, something the reservation phone number doesn't tell you.
Once inside they crown you and you wait around till they open the doors to be seated for the show. While you wait there's a bar for the adults.
I don't want to spoil too much to a first time visitor so I'll just post some pictures.

Awesome decor around the bar/lounge area. Don't be afraid to explore and take pictures.

My delicious dinner. All eaten without utensils! Tomato basil soup, half a chicken, garlic bread, and a potatoe slice. They also include drinks (soda/coffee). At the end of the feast they give an apple turnover.

And of course the show is AMAZING!!! But I won't give out too much details of it. Just be ready to cheer ALOT😉!!

TIP- Bring cash to tip your server.

April Haul/ mini Bats Day Black Market Haul (Disneyland)

So a lot of people might not know what Bats Day is or what the Black Market is. Well Bats Day is pretty much the day that a bunch of gothly inclined people come together and hang out at Disneyland. Over the years it has become a whole weekend of events with the Black Market happening at the Doubletree Hotel in Anaheim. A bunch of vendors (artists) sell their merchandise to cater to those visiting for Bats Day or those seeking Gothic decor they normally can't find outside of the month of October in stores.☻

Mini Haul MAC STORE Studio Fix Fluid and Zac Posen Setting Powder

Back to my local MAC store for a refill of my favorite foundation NC40 Studio Fix fluid. Can't live without it! Have tried both high and and low end foundations and the Studio Fix is still my favorite foundation for my skin type which is super oily.

Got that and their limited line by Zac Posan setting pressed powder.
I would say a dupe to Makeup Forevers HD powder.
Awesome for the hot summer coming up and keeping the oiliness at bay.
Both products came out to almost 60 dollars with tax. Not cheap. But I do use the foundation super often and love the coverage.
As for the setting powder I still need to test drive it longer before I can form an opinion on it. Good part about that is that MAC will accept all returns with recipets.

Dresslink Honest Review (Wishlist)

My wishlist items were finally in my mailbox on Christmas Eve!
I was super excited since I have never directly ordered clothing from a supplier in China before. (These items were given to me by Dresslink)
It took roughly almost a month to recieve my 2 items.
Upon opening the first item I noticed an odd chemical smell coming from the package. Wasn't sure from which of the 2 at first the smell was coming from. Upon inspection it came from the motorcycle Leather (faux) Jacket. Strange. Almost like a gasoline smell. Had to be the dying process that they use.
I took the Leather Jacket out first, it was neatly packaged in the bubble wrapped envelope it came in.
My first impression was seeing the zipper on the jacket is gold.
I hate gold or any metal plated gold colored items. And the metal buttons that adorn the flaps are silver?
I tried it on and was super glad I got it in size xxL. I normally wear size medium in woman's and Large in juniors.

Dresslink sizes are super tiny, had I picked smaller it would not have fit me at all.
As other reviewers have mentioned on Dresslink's site, this leather jacket is quite thin. Maybe not paper thin but it probably wouldn't keep you warm on a cold night.
The style was a little disappointing when it's zippered because you can see the difference in the color of the mismatched metals. And the cut isn't very flattering if your top heavy. The length is a bit short, so definitely not for someone tall.

However, if I do wear it I will leave it open.
As for my 2nd wish item, the polka dotted blouse, was a little too big on the shoulders. I picked it out in XL and surprisingly it did run true to US sizing. It's too big on me (I'm a medium). Mostly noticeable on the sleeves but the length is nice. It came in a fabric zippered pouch inside the bubble wrapped envelope.

Tried it on as well. It's super cute but I had to pin the sleeves to shorten them. Overall still wearable and cute!

Final verdict- Would I shop from DressLink personally myself with my own money?
Yes, I will.
Prices are super affordable, but it is a hit or miss on sizing. And as long as you don't mind the month long waiting period, it's an ok site to shop from. With that being said don't expect top quality for your buck. It's not designer name brand quality.
If you do consider buying you'll be spending a portion of what a mall chain store charges you for similar clothes and you can actually afford alot more items on Dresslink.
Tip- Their shipping is based on weight. The lighter the item the cheaper shipping will cost.
Those are some of the factors to weigh in on.

Tortilla Jo's in Downtown Disney Review

This is a review for Torilla Jo's. It's located in the center of Downtown Disney right after passing by the tram entrance and the.pin trading post if you're coming in through DTD's parking.
What better way to celebrate my birthday than to eat Mexican food!

A tad bit of info DTD now limits your parking to 2 hours or 4 total with validation from a dine in restaurant.
Here are some pics of my food and other things inside.
There is a host that greets at the front.
Some nights there are large lines to get seated. If your coming for dinner make reservations just to be safe (the mistake we made a couple nights before and couldn't get in)

(They start you off with free salsa and chips, quac is extra but they make it in front of you)

The waitress was very attentative. Tip if you have children, bring cash. There's a ballon guy that will expect a cash tip. My husband didn't have much loose cash and the guy completely ignored our second child who was crying for one after he was tipped 2 dollars for the first ballon. (Update: balloon guy is contracted from an outside company)

Now for the food, it was ok.
I've had better else where. The tacos were middle of the road for me. Being from Mexican heritage I've had the best from my mom's kitchen, and Torilla Jo's are just ok.
I got the 3 item combo plate. The 3rd item was added at extra charge (shredded pork taco).
My tamale was a little bland and the beef taco wasn't as street taco I was hoping it was going to taste.
The 2nd taco, the shredded pork one was really good! Like El Toro restaurant good! The beans and rice were decent, but you can't really go wrong with those.

(I do recommend the shredded pork tacos meal, that was my fav item there)

(Hubby's plate, he liked his alot! He recommends the sea food enchilada, it has lobster, red snapper, and scallops with a cheese blend)

Would I come back?
Maybe, if I don't have to pay out of my own pocket. I like the 2 mexican restaurants inside the actual parks better. Just my personal taste choice. Your sorta just paying more for ambiance at Torilla Jo's. Tons of good authentic Mexican restaurants in Orange County.
Disneyland wise, it's ok if your outside of the actual park and you happen to be walking in Downtown Disney.
I also got a free dessert for it being my bday, however my husband had to tell them. Even with me wearing a big ass button on my blouse that said IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! LOL 😳😐

Shopping On a Budget DRESSLINK

Shopping on a budget with an edge?
Recently I was contacted to do a wishlist for DressLink. It is an online shopping website with some of the best trends happening right now.
They sell everything from accessories, clothing, to even shoes. They have it all.
The best part is that their items are very inexpensive. A fraction of the price than a mall store that carries similar garments.
All sizes on their site are Asian sized so I do recommend that you go up 2 sizes from what you would normally buy.
Also, something else to note is that shipping is based on weight. Meaning the lighter the item the cheaper your items will be to ship. On that note from reading on their site items take anywhere from two weeks to a month to arrive at your door steps, which is expected since it's being shipped from China.
Here are some of the items I really liked that I feel are timeless and edgy.
My first pick is this black leather jacket. Slick enough for a day to night look. (Both pictures are owned by dresslink)

Random night post...My Birthday....

My birthday is coming up this week. I have mixed feelings about it.
I'm happy to be alive another year, but I feel kinda old.
Someone complimented me on Halloween who I had not seen in a year.
She said she didn't recognize me at first because I look so different. (I have lost 20 lbs, and died my hair, plus was wearing my seeing glasses that night)
And proceeds to compliment me that I look younger and better every time she sees me.
Hmmm.
Odd, I don't feel like I do.
I feel the older I get, the wiser I am, the more I can read into people. Which in turn makes me feel old.
Something the young don't aquire off the bat because their still green lacking experience with life. And don't realize how naive they still are in trusting everyone.
I sometimes miss that. And wish I could have those rose colored glasses that only the youth can hold. And just feel optimistic about everything.
Yes, I'm aware of the two different topics of appearance and internal feelings.
Which goes back to why aging can be somewhat confusing the older you get...

Mac Viva Glam Miley Cirus 2 Dupe for Lady Danger?

I wasn't even aware miley cirus had done a collaboration with Mac until I walked into my local Mac Pro store near me and a makeup artist showed me it. At glance its an orange red.
Very pretty in the tube.
However, I already own Lady Danger. Which is their main orange red in their permanent line. So I thought how is this one any different, as the worker also informs me that it's a matte formula. Really?
In the tube it had a slight sheen to it.
I had to try it. (VIVA GLAM MS 2 is on the left, Lady Danger on the right)

The formula on MS 2 is so much better and easier to apply than Lady Danger. It's creamier and smoother. Lady Danger is super dry and a bit more pigmented than MS 2.
Upon comparison lady danger is a true orange red and for some odd reason the ms 2 has almost like a salmon like (peachy) tone to it. (Left LD, right MS 2) and appears more moist.

A tad different than a true orange red. And believe me, I have been obsessed with bright orange lipsticks for years,
they are hard to come by and find the right shade.
If I had to pick one I would say the MS 2 one is a lot better formulated than the old formula on the Lady Danger one.
If your also able to get your hands on the MS 2 one your also supporting the viva glam program. Here's information on that www.macaidsfund.org
UPDATE- After wearing both shades I have to re-adjust my review.
MS 2 feathers out big time, lip liner is a must for it.
(This is MS 2 on me, NC 40 Studio Fix)

I also feel that LD is a truer more pigmented orange red that does not bleed, where as MS 2 lacks both these qualities. (Here's one with me wearing Lady Danger)

So if you

already own LD you don't need this one ladies. Just make sure to moisturize before applying it with lip balm.

Another more affordable orange red is Revlon Coral Red in the black tubes.

Splat Hair Dye Crimson Obsession Review Part 2

2nd day with the 2nd step of dying the hair. Just finished washing the actual red dye out. Feeling sort of pissed. This dye gets on everything and stains. Yes, I'm aware the box states this but fudge it got everywhere! There is no 3 second rule to remove the dye before it stains, it will f'n stain!
If you have a white bathroom be very cautious, or even better forget it. It stained my hands bad :( The box only includes one pair of gloves which I'd used for the bleaching part, in the part 1 blog below. Be ready to have to buy extra gloves cause the dye is insanely messy, no joke.
I'm letting my hair dry right now...
Update- Day 3.
After staining my white bathroom sink counter and my hands the dye eventually does fade and cleanup. It was still a pain to deal with and I have not experienced this with other hair dye brands.
Here are the results for Crimson Obsession hair dye (top crown layer was the bleached part, and the dyed part)-

It's alot lighter then the box picture. I was expecting something darker like a black cherry red.

Just getting used to the brightness of it. It's more like a little mermaid red.

Another downside to this dye is that you can't really wet your hair while your styling it because the dye starts running and again getting on everything.

I like the outcome as of now but can't truly recommend it. The whole process is too much a hassle.

Splat Hair Dye Review First Impressions part 1

It's been almost a month since I last dyed my hair. Roots are about an inch long, yes my hair does grow out that fast. I decided to try a new dye brand that I have seen in the past but never cared to buy before- Splat Hair Dye. It's a kit meant for dark haired people who want to get bright hair color results. In simple hair terms, you bleach your hair first and then you put dye in it once it dries after the first hair process. So your pretty much paying for 2 things in one box- sweet deal! Cost me 11 bucks.

I looked at the different colors that they carry, atleast at my local CVS and went with the Crimson red shade. It's a dark blood like color.
Thought about the torqouise dye one at first but realized the color was way to bright for my taste and I know I would be getting too much unwanted attention from strangers.
Dark Auburn has always suited my skin tone better anyways so I stuck to reds.
Like I mentioned before it comes with the bleach powder and peroxide, which is the first step. Having dyed my hair Auburn prior to this time the lower half of my hair was already lighter and faded.
After an hour with the bleach in my hair it turned an orange brassy color. It is not close to a blonde desired in anyway nor what the box claims that you should have it in order for the dye to be the true color. Afterwards I washed it with a purple shampoo which did nothing to the brassy color. (The black longer layer is intentional)

We shall see what the results will be with the 2nd step.

Awesome 80's Run 2015 Pasadena Rose Bowl 5K

Well I kept my word from last year claiming I would run this year.
I ran the 5k at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on the 18th of this past July. For the first time since the event has been held they added a 10k this year and the runners now wore chips to accurately track their running times.
Most of this was new to me, since I did not run last years race, but my husband and his brother did. He explained the differences to me.
Of course part of the fun is getting to dress up :) No tutu for me, thanks. Lol. If you're a runner and have ran a few races you know what I mean.

This year's theme was Back to the Future. Almost everyone dressed to the T in their 80's attire, while the DJ blasted some good 80's new wave jams.
The turnout was a bit bigger than last years that's for sure.

This marked the first race me and my husband got to run together.
The first of the runners were the 10k runners ahead of us. A few minutes later the 5k runners took off. My husband being in the front of the 5k crowd. Me being somewhere in the middle.
I kinda regretted not being in the front because people in the middle were walking and barely gaining speed while trying to run. I feel like I lost a good five minute start.
(I'll be uploading some of the footage I took of the race in a few days)
About 2/3 of the way, maybe like a mile left, it started sprinkling. I was getting the chills while I ran but I made it to the end. By then it started pouring. Yeah, full on rain and thunder storm in the middle of July.

What a day! Sadly because of the rain I wasn't able to capture any more pictures after that. We had to take off or get drenched. Bummer on that part.

My time was not my best either at about 40 minutes but I tried. I was not training for this race hard enough due to some circumstances but atleast I can say I ran it (;

Disneyland's 60th Anniversary, Some of the Amazing Merch

The official 60th anniversary isn't until July 17 but since Disneyland has been setting up leading to this date since the beginning of the year they had began the celebration by decorating the castle and finally by bringing out the amazing new fireworks display alongside the new "Paint the Night" parade on May 22.
Sadly I did not have a camera at hand when I did see the parade and fireworks on a different date recently to show you guys :(

But, they also did not skimp on the merchandise, which is what they really have become known for. They released some of the merch the wednesday before their 24 hour event.

Running My First 5K Race- CoasterRun

I started running about 3 months back after being inspired by seeing my husband do his first 5K back in August of last year.
I wasn't in my best shape and since I had just given birth to our daughter I still had the baby weight.
I didn't even think I had it in me. I started running and weighing 165 pounds.
My first run was half a mile and I ran it in a little over 8 minutes.
It felt strange, running at first. My legs felt heavy like I couldn't lift them and I felt like I was dragging the rest of my body along. I had never felt this way in life. I almost thought for a minute I might need physical therapy. The feeling I felt was surreal. Like it wasn't my body and I wasn't in control of how I was moving it.
Around my third week of running half a mile, twice a week, I injured my knee. Something I didn't know at the time is that you need a really good pair of running shoes. If your feet have arches you will need support. The rest of your body posture changes as well.
So yeah, my knee gave out and I had to stop for 2 weeks and let my knee recover.
My husband felt bad for me since he was seeing that I was getting serious about wanting to run and ordered me my first pair of running shoes online.
After the 2nd week of recovery I was hesitant about starting up my running but knew I had to continue where I left off. We started a new running routine closer to home and soon my half mile went down from 8 minutes to 6 minutes and a half rounded off.
I weighed myself around this time again and had dropped 12 pounds. Weighed 150 from a 165 pounds.
About a month ago I upped my routine to a mile and ran it in about 13 minutes. Missed a week in the middle of the month but continued that fallowing week.
Now, as of this past week, I ran two miles in 26 minutes.
Yes, 2 miles. I shocked even my husband. He actually admitted to me that he didn't think I had it in me. By which I felt a tad bit insulted.
Well, he felt kind of bad that he hadn't believed in me because he ended up signing me up to my first 5K Coaster Run.

SEPHORA Los Cabos Bronzer Review

In my last journey I mentioned I was getting into contouring and bought a couple of matte bronzers. This is one of them, SEPHORA'S Bronzer in shade Los Cabos ($17). Brown and warm undertoned. The number one reason I got this is because it's matte. Oily skinned gals I highly recommend this.
I got this due in part to the sales girl at Sephora who was incredibly helpful and patient with me.

(Me wearing the bronzer for about 6 hours, hence my oily forehead)
She had mentioned that this was a dupe for Benifits Hoola ($28). They had ran out of Benifits bronzer so I took the chance and bought the Sephora one, my wallet thanked me later. The only concern I have for myself is that it's a hair lighter then I was anticipating. Meaning whens it's winter (like it is now) it'll look good but once I tan it won't show as well during spring/summer. I am NC40 and Revon's early tan during the fall/winter, for reference.

If your a darker tone I would suggest going with a darker shade.

I do like that it's compact and comes with a good sized mirror that I use all the time while I'm getting ready.
