The fifth and final volume of the incredible Genome series has just been released! I'm proud to be a part of this series again, as it truly is an amazing concept for a sampler. Essentially, every band uses the same set of sampled sounds to create a song. Despite the common audio DNA, the compositions that appear on these releases are wildly different and incredibly interesting. I hope you'll check it out!

The return of physical CD samplers!

I was very excited to receive the latest Point Source Arts sampler - as a physical 2CD set I could hold in my hands! Gone are the days when CD samplers introduced us to our new music, but it's refreshing at times to be able to relive those times. The latest Artist Showcase from PSA fills this role, offering a staggering collection of unique electronic assemblages from some amazing glitch/IDM/experimental electronic artists. New old school industrial track - "Self-Aware"!

This track has something of an OLD SCHOOL INDUSTRIAL flavor, probably inspired by my friend R010R's recent release Instilling Old-School Awareness.

Thematically, it's also a response to the proliferation and impact of AI on the music world. Hence, the robovox pleading with you to see it as "human" and "real". However, there was no AI utilized in the creation of this track or artwork. ;)
